Chapter Twenty Two: The Kyoshi Warriors
After he got his bison, Aang was able to finally get to the Earth King. Oblivious to all that has been going around him, the king did not believe the Avatar at first. He was shocked and surprised. However, the Avatar showed him Fire Nation colonies not far away from Ba Sing Se, exposing the war, the Dai Li, and Long Feng. However, Zuko's agents remained stationed in the heart of Ba Sing Se, serving as the eyes and ears of the Fire Lord.
Afterwards, they discovered that Long Feng has been intercepting their letters, withholding them from their recipients. Aang got a letter from a guru. Sokka and Katara got a letter from their father, and Toph got a letter from her mother.
"But someone needs to stay here and help with planning the invasion." Aang reminded them.
"I'll stay." Katara volunteered.
"No, Katara." Sokka protested.
"I know how important seeing dad is to you. Go. I'll be fine." Katara insisted, causing Sokka to get all emotional and hug her.
Later on, they were all getting ready to leave, right outside the palace, when the king walked towards them to greet them and wish them a safe journey.
"Aang and Sokka, I wish you a safe journey." He stops briefly, before proceeding. "Ba Sing Se owes you. We all look forward to your return." He thanked them, and they bowed in return.
"Your majesty," One of the soldiers walked up to the king. "Three warriors from the Kyoshi Island are here to see you."
"That's Suki!" Sokka exclaimed, falling off Appa.
"You know them?" The king asked.
"Yes, they are good friends of ours." Aang simply answers the king's question.
"Then we shall welcome them!" The king declared joyfully, before signaling to the soldier, who ran off.
Meanwhile, the three warriors were waiting to meet the Earth King in the palace court.
"When is the king going to show up?" One of them asked, looking around.
"Patience, Ty Lee." Azula shushed her, smirking. "Patience."
