Chapter Twenty Three: You Have a Visitor

Apparently, Long Feng possesses more power than Zuko has thought. Even after being thrown in jail, he still controlled the Dai Li. He needs to win him back.

The prison cell door opens up. Long Feng looks up. He smiles. "You have nothing over me now." He told Zuko, but Zuko already knows.

"I know." He calmly stated. "But I have something to offer you." He came ready. He realized that he has lost his leverage over Long Feng, so he thought of something to keep Long Feng under his command.

"And, what is that?" Long Feng asked.

"Freedom." Zuko slowly pronounced the word. Long Feng burst out laughing.

"You think I'm not free? My Dai Li agents can get me out the second I decide to make them." Zuko did expect him to be fooled and blinded by his power.

"Well, sure, but then what?" He asked Long Feng, as he watched his stupid smirk turn into a frown. "Live as a fugitive? go ahead."

"I control the Dai Li!" Long Feng lost his temper.

"But the Earth King controls the Council of Five and the military." Zuko calmly reminded him. Long Feng had nothing to say. He just glared at Zuko.

"You have until the Avatar returns to Ba Sing Se to give me an answer." Zuko set the deadline.

"Or what?" Long Feng challenged the Fire Lord.

"Find out." Zuko challenged him back.

Long Feng knew that if the Fire Lord wanted him dead, he would've had him killed easily. After all, his agents are all around Ba Sing Se. They might not be able to take over the city, but they can surely handle simple tasks. He let Zuko leave for now. He will come back.

Later that day, the door of the cell opened again.

"I still don't have an answer for you." Long Feng answered the Fire Lord's unasked question, but it wasn't the Fire Lord.

"An answer to what?" Came an unexpected voice. Long Feng looked up: the princess of the Fire Nation.

"Nothing." Long Feng simply answered. Azula raised an eyebrow. "I know who you are." He let her know, so she wouldn't mess with him like her brother does.

"Such a smart guy." Azula said sarcastically.

"What do you want?" Long Feng got tired of how much this family talks.

"I came here searching for an alliance." Azula offered.

"Is it the type of alliance where you tell me what to do and I do it?" He sarcastically asked.

"No, it's the type of alliance where you help me, and we both get what we want." Azula ignored his sarcastic tone.

"And what is it that you want?" Long Feng curiously asked.

"Revenge." Azula simply answered, then explained to Long Feng's confused expressions. "I want to get revenge at my brother."

"Why should I help you get revenge at my brother?" Long Feng asked, wanting to know what's in it for him.

"The city." Azula answered. "Zuko wants the city. He will use you to get it and then throw you. All I want is to get back at him and capture the Avatar. You can keep the city."

Long Feng liked the idea of ruling Ba Sing Se again, and this time, ruling it completely, without the king standing in his way. "You've got yourself a deal."
