The description of the house in this chapter is based off a real house on Redlington Road, Hampstead Heath. It can be found on the Savils property website, though I'm surprised to find it was recently sold, 'cos that house is bloody expensive!
Hours later the Time Travelling family returned to the TARDIS, the door squeaking shut and the Time Rotor starting up with its noisy wheeze and groan, sending the TARDIS into the Vortex. There was still an excited buzz in the air from its occupants having witnessed a rare solar phenomenon.
Whilst The Doctors were busy piloting the TARDIS, Rose was sat on the jump seat, along with Jenny and Amy. She was showing them her mini Gestalt statue that continued to give off its natural Aura. Both females were fascinated by it. Rory had been made by Amy to take her bought items to their room.
Jaime was sat on the grating, back against a coral pillar as she inspected the playful little Wolf Cub who was yipping and rolling back and forth in her lap. He appeared to be healthy despite being small for his age.
Because she had a bagful of exotic fruit, Alexia needed to go to her room and store it in her stasis storage cupboard. In there her fruit would last a long time, along with all the other stuff she had stored in there. But before she could do that, her phone started ringing. That would be her dad ringing from her original universe making his monthly call. She dug into her pocket and pulled it out in order to answer it.
Only something niggled away at her, so she turned to her daughter. "Jaime, can you do me a favour? Talk to your Grand-dad." And she tossed the phone to Jaime who caught it easily with one hand, due to her stealth.
"Wha' why?" She asked with a frown and watched as her mum exited out of the Console Room. "Och, hold on!" She let out a groan of annoyance and shook her head. "Why? I hardly know 'em!" She grumbled under her breath.
"Aren't you going to answer that?" J,D suggested from his place at the Console. The continued unanswered ring was becoming annoying.
"Urgh, fine." She muttered and pressed 'Accept' on the phone without even looking, her Time Sense giving her Mind a tug. "Hello. Ma's a wee bit busy right now," she spoke into the phone. "So ye got me for the moment."
"What? Who is this?" Came a completely different voice that wasn't her Grand-dad or her Grand-mum. "Where's Rose? Put her on!" The voice was almost hysterical.
Letting out a gasp, Jaime looked at the caller ID and saw that it said 'mum'. As in Rose's mum!
"Something wrong?" J.D questioned when he sensed the shock from his bond-mate.
The Doctor raised a questioning brow.
"Och, sorry 'bout tha'. I'll jus' go get her!" She spoke into the phone before teleporting to her feet and standing next to Rose. A yelp had come from Dane Jnr when he fell to the floor and he looked around, puzzled. J.D scooped him up. "It's for ye, Rose!" Jaime uttered, holding out the phone to the blonde.
"What?" A puzzled Rose uttered, frowning.
"It's yer ma'." Jaime added.
A gasp came from Rose and her eyes widened, as did The Doctor's. she quickly took the phone. "Mum?!" She spoke into it.
The Scots-girl took Dane Jnr from J.D. "I'm goin' tae get this one settled in." She explained and hurried out of the Console Room as well.
"Mum!" Rose cried out when she heard her mum's voice down the phone, tears springing to her eyes. "I can't believe it. I thought you were all dead."
Considering the Earth in the parallel Universe was in danger of extinction via Asteroid, Jackie had called her daughter to say goodbye. But Bad Wolf, with the help of The Omni, had opened up a portal for her family and their friends to escape into. Afterwards there had been silence on the other end of the phone which had Rose worrying she had failed to rescue her family.
"Can't count us out, darling." Jackie replied with a watery laugh.
Jenny and Amy moved off the seat in order to give Rose some space and to let The Doctor sit next to his bond-mate.
He put his arm around her shoulders and she looked up at him with a happy grin. "Why didn't you call back? I've been calling and calling and I got no answer." She questioned.
"Well I would have if I'd been able to, sweetheart," Jackie told her. "But there was no phone signal on that planet of his!"
Rose furrowed her brow, surprised at what her mum said. "Gallifrey?" She asked, looking at The Doctor again when she felt bouts of shock and amazement from him. "Is that where you all ended up?"
If it was the Gallifrey of the DeltaVerse then it was very likely they needed to go back there. Yet her Time Sense was saying otherwise.
"Yes. It was primitive," Jackie answered her daughter and The Doctor let out a huff of disbelief, shaking his head. "There was none of the usual technology."
"At least we didn't litter out upper atmosphere with Satellites and other rubbish!" The Doctor snarked back. "And Gallifrey is far more advanced than your pithy little planet will ever be!"
Amy let out an offended squawk.
"Doctor!" Rose hissed.
"Oh, hark at him!" Jackie crowed out, also feeling offended.
J.D was heard chuckling while shaking his head.
"Are you still on Gallifrey?" Rose quickly enquired before a full blown argument could happen between her mum and The Doctor.
"No, one of the Time Ladies was kind enough to take us back to my original universe. Tried to settle us on a knock off Earth but I was having none of it!"
Rose stood up, eyes wide. "You're on Earth right now?" She asked, hope and excitement sparking off her. The Doctor could sense how happy she was to finally be able to talk to her mum after so long. And despite his animosity towards Jackie Tyler he was glad that Rose had her mum to talk to.
"Yeah, sweetheart. We're on Earth. In the 23rd Century."
Rose was surprised. "The 23rd Century?" She questioned. "What year? What date? Can you give me the exact co-ordinates?!" Rose uttered, excited.
Jackie did so, giving the year as 2236 on Sunday 21st August at 12:50pm.
"Did you get that?" Rose asked J.D and The Doctor.
"Yep!" The Time Lord replied as J.D set up the co-ordinates. "Sunday 21st August, 2236 at 12:50pm. Where in the World are you?"
"London, you nitwit. Where else would we be!" Came Jackie's reply.
"Of course!" The Doctor replied, rolling his eyes.
"Right, mum. We're coming very soon. You just hold on!" Rose told her mum as the TARDIS began her journey towards a new destination.
In the library, Jaime found Roscoe chatting with Blaize the Growlithe. The hermaphrodite cat and puppy Pokemon often had their chats when no-one else was around. They just didn't know that she knew this. From her hidden spot she could see that Blaize was lying down in the pen and being used as a climbing frame by the twin kittens Lena and Leandro. It was too cute for words.
Taking the lead off Dane Jnr's collar, she told the young cub to go over and introduce himself. Eager to meet the Growlithe and cats, the Wolf Cub softly yipped and padded over to the pen, curious. He became even more curious and excited when he sensed more telepathic Minds and started yipping louder and attempted to jump over the pen.
Seeing how well they were getting on, Jaime decided to leave them too it and teleported out of the library. She reappeared in a corridor, right in front her mum and Rory, giving them both a surprise.
"Bloody hell, Jaime!" Alexia cried out, hand going to her chest.
"Can you not do that please!" Rory muttered his agreement. He had bumped into Alexia after he had left the room he shared with Amy. So they walked together to the Console Room.
"Sorry." Jaime apologised sheepishly.
It was then she felt her mum's realisation wash off her in waves. "Hold on, I left you to take the call from your Grand-dad. Why didn't you?"
The Scots-girl grinned. "Tha's why I came tae find ye. It wasnae Grand-da'," she said. "It was actually Jackie Tyler."
Alexia's eyes widened at the news. "No way!" She exclaimed, becoming excited. Out of all the companions mothers she liked Jackie Tyler the best. Before she met Alternate Pete Tyler she had been an independent single mother living on the breadline and taking on several jobs to support herself and her daughter, who she was fiercely protective of. Jackie Tyler was everything a mother should be. "Oh my goodness!" Alexia realised. "Are we going to get the chance to meet her?" She wondered.
Jaime chuckled at her mum's reaction, feeling the excitement in waves coming from her.
"Is this a relative of Rose?" Rory asked, feeling left out.
"Yes," Alexia answered him. "She's Rose's mum."
So with the TARDIS in mid flight the three Time Travellers hurried to the Console Room.
Looking around, Alexia saw that Jenny and Amy were stood together by the rail and were soon joined by Rory. Rose was pacing and talking into her phone, presumably to Jackie. She looked like she was about to cry any moment. Well, she hadn't spoken to her mum in a long time, she was allowed to get upset. And The Doctors were busy navigating and were helpfully joined by Jaime. Alexia sat on the jump seat and listened to their conversation.
"The 23rd Century? Is tha' where they pitched up?" The Scots-girl questioned after checking the co-ordinates on the monitor, yet intuition told her there was more too it than just that.
"No, actually," The Half-Time Lord spoke up. "They landed on Gallifrey first and then they got a lift into this universe by one of the Time Lords."
"And I think we all know which Time Lord it was." The Doctor concluded.
Jaime nodded. It was quite obvious. "The Dynacracker." Jaime, J.D and The Doctor all said at the same time.
Listening to them, Alexia nodded her head thoughtfully. That would make sense. She was the only Time Lord that could enter other universes completely unhindered.
"And London?" Jaime's psychic intuition kicked in, images flooding her Mind. "Tha's where they are now?" Where else would they be? It's not like they'd choose anywhere else to live!
"Yep!" The Doctor replied, giving Jaime a smile. "Rose said they're in the Hampstead Heath area."
And because it was called Hampstead Heath a large area was basically park land. Or more or less countryside. But wasn't it meant to be rough? Maybe that was the case in her old Universe, so it was likely different in this one. Then she remembered that Jaime said they in the 23rd Century. But in the 22nd Century the Daleks had invaded and had practically destroyed parts of London and possibly further than that. She couldn't remember the exact year those pepperpots had invaded, or how long they had stuck around. But it was definitely the 22nd Century. And what about Susan? Would she still be in London? Safe away from the Time War?
"The 23rd Century isn't that far away from the 22nd Century," Alexia spoke up and they all looked at her making her feel slightly nervous. But she carried on regardless. "When the Daleks invaded Earth they caused a hell of a lot of damage. Especially to London." Alexia said just as Rose hung up, promising her mum they would be arriving soon.
But now she looked worried. "Doctor?" She asked, eyes wide because she had also been listening to Alexia. "How'd they even manage that?"
The Doctor groaned and shook his head when he sensed the worry from Rose. She didn't need the stress. "No, no. I understand what you mean," he spoke. "But it was one of our earliest encounters against the Daleks. But we dealt with them swiftly." 'We' as in Barbara, Ian and Susan. Susan, who was then left behind to start a new life with David Campbell.
But was she still there? Alexia couldn't stop thinking about her and it was distracting Jaime.
*Stop it, ma'* Jaime admonished her. *Arkytior will be fine wherever she is!*
Alexia raised her brows at her daughter, surprised at the use of Susan's real name.
"As for what happened after the Dalek invasion, eighty six years has passed since then," J.D stated, noticing that his bond-mate and her mother seemed to be having one of their private conversations. They'd been doing that a lot ever since Alexia learned to channel her telepathy via her Watch. "Which gives it a lot of time for the planet to heal and countries and cities to rebuild. Humans always endeavour no matter whatever happens."
The Doctor felt he had to agree with his brother's sentiment. Despite their flaws they were good at surviving just about anything.
The attention of the Time Travellers went to the Time Rotor as the TARDIS vworped in preparation of landing.
Jackie Tyler watched as the TARDIS landed in her front garden on the driveway, shaking her head at the way it was making such a racket. Thank goodness they were surrounded by tall trees and shrubbery, or else it would have had the neighbours curious.
When the Time Machine fully materialised and the door creaked open, Jackie took a couple of steps from her door. The first person to step out of the TARDIS was Rose. And when she did she had a look at her surroundings, noticing the large front garden with a security gate in place where the driveway started.
Next to where the TARDIS had parked was a black Jaguar Sentinel. Next to that car was a Mercedes in maroon red. There was a large garage with its door open and in there she could see an Audi four wheel drive in burnt orange. And surprisingly enough, an old Land-rover in forest green that looked similar to the one in Pete's World. As for the house, it wasn't as big as the house in Pete's World and it was clearly in a neighbourhood, but it was just as impressive.
And just like the house in Pete's World, this one was also Ambassador style. The windows were large and the bricks were the colour of a Mars landscape. The doorway had a couple of Roman columns on either side, and stood away from the doorway at the top of a step was her mum.
"Rose!" Jackie called out.
"Mum!" Rose uttered and they both ran towards each other.
They caught each other in a hug, talking to each other at the same time. The rest of the Time Travellers watched the happy reunion with grins and smiles.
Alexia's attention soon turned to the house, her eyes wide and curious. "Wow! Such a stunning house," she said. "I doubt it was cheap. Houses in the South rarely are."
"£14,000,000." Jaime instantly picked up.
"What, really?" A shocked Alexia questioned before shaking her head with a sigh. "You could probably buy six or seven houses with that much money in the North. It's cheaper up North than it is here in London."
The Doctor chuckled while Jaime rolled her eyes.
"So Rose's parents are well off then?" Amy questioned, watching as Rory peered into the passenger side window of the Jaguar. He couldn't see much inside the car anyway as the windows were darkened.
"Yes…well, no…well, it's complicated." The Doctor answered her. "But Pete Tyler was an influential person back in his own universe." He watched as Rose continued to hug her mum. He could sense how upset she was, but it was a grateful type of upset because she was reunited with her mum and not separated by another universe.
"Yes, but that's the thing," J.D spoke up. "He made it in his universe. How long has he been living in this universe to afford a house this big?" He wondered.
That got The Doctor frowning while Alexia quietly agreed with the Half-Time Lord. She too was watching Rose and Jackie, waiting to be acknowledged.
"A year and a half," Jenny picked up. "Plenty of time to get sorted."
But a frowning, disbelieving Rory shook his head. "No, that shouldn't be possible!" He spoke. "If he's been here that long then he shouldn't have all this in such short amount of time." Then a puzzled expression appeared on his face. "Unless he brought it over from his universe." He added.
This time it was Jaime who shook her head. It really depended how well prepared they were in the other universe before the Asteroid destroyed their Earth. "Vitex." Jaime answered their thoughts.
The reference to the alternate universe health drink brought The Doctor out of his thoughts and he turned to Jaime. "What?" He exclaimed. What did Vitex have to do with all this?
"It was after the Queen concert in 1986. We met the band backstage and there was a bottle of Vitex on the table." Jaime said.
The reaction from The Doctor and J.D was simultaneous but different. Whilst waves of worry washed off the Time Lord, J.D raised his brows, intrigued. "What? I didn't see that!" He replied.
Jaime looked at him with a smirk. "Tha's 'cause ye were a wee bit busy with tha' Time Agent." She answered him.
J.D smirked back in return. "Oh, right. That was the Time Agent that knew you and ran away when you told him who you were?"
"Mhmm!" Jaime mumbled and the Half-Time Lord couple stared at each other.
The Doctor looked from J.D to Jaime before rolling his eyes. "Excuse me!" He caught their attention and they looked at him. "What do you mean there was Vitex in 1986? It shouldn't have even existed back then. The Pete Tyler of this Universe never got the chance to make it. This is only going to muck up the Timelines." He worried, running his hands through his hair.
"Dad, if it would have effected the Timeline I would have felt it by now." Jenny told her dad. "We would have all felt it."
Jaime nodded in agreement. "Aye, she's right." She said, giving her sister a hint of a smile. "And it wasnae existin' in 1986 'cause it was out of its time."
J.D frowned when he sensed her nervousness. Even Jenny was giving her a look of concern. Alexia should have noticed but she was too busy staring at Jackie and Rose.
And it completely went over the head of The Doctor. "That's even worse!" He blurted out. "It's anachronistic, shouldn't be there. And why did members of Queen even have it?"
No-one could give him an answer for this, but both Jaime and J.D figured out it was most likely because Queen become close friends in the near future.
Sensing his agitation, Rose pulled away from her mum's embrace and looked over at The Doctor with a frown. Something had gotten him quite upset.
"Oh, what's himself gotten in such a tizzy about?" Jackie frowned and questioned her daughter.
"I don't know," Rose replied. But something was clearly bothering him. "Doctor!" She called to him and when he looked over at her she beckoned him over.
A grin that looked forced appeared on The Doctor's face and he and his fellow Time Family approached. She was just about to ask what was bothering him until an actual grinning Alexia was stood in front of them.
"Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's actually you, the great Jackie Tyler," Alexia took a hold of one of Jackie's hand in both of hers. "I'm a big fan of yours, it's brilliant to meet such an amazing woman like yourself…" Alexia babbled on while a wide-eyed and stunned Jackie stared back at her. A bemused Rose could feel bouts of confusion from her mum.
"C'mon ma'," Jaime groaned and pulled her mum away from Jackie. "Stop fangirlin' all over her!"
Alexia just about recovered from almost stumbling over and glared at her daughter. "I was not 'fangirling'." She defended her actions.
Still stunned and puzzled, Jackie turned to Rose who had been joined by The Doctor, his arm around her shoulders. It made her smile. "Who's that?" She asked about Alexia because she didn't recognise ever seeing the woman before. In fact there was a few new faces in the group and it was nice to see that the Metacrisis Doctor was still around, and somehow looking younger to when she last saw him.
"That's Alexia, Jaime's mother." Rose replied.
"Oh, right." Jackie muttered with a nod, eyes turning to Jaime who was still arguing with her mother. She had only been around for a short period of time before being returned to the other Universe, but she was pretty sure the young female hadn't been a raven haired Scots-girl. "Is it me or does she look completely different?" Jackie queried her daughter.
But instead of Rose answering her, Jaime answered her instead. "I regenerated," she told the older Tyler woman. "Dinnae ask 'cause its a wee bit long and extremely messy." Then she pulled J.D towards her with a big grin. "And this is J.D." she introduced the Half-Time Lord, in which he was smiling and gave a little wave.
"Oh, so he's got a name now has he?" Jackie said, still wondering why he looked younger than his full Time Lord counter-part.
J.D let out a humoured snort. "Of course I've got a name!" He blurted out. "What makes you think I wouldn't have a name?"
Jackie had no answer for this because he technically had a point. He couldn't have called himself The Doctor as that would likely confuse everyone.
"Though it's good to know you're safe and well." J.D added before gathering Jackie into a hug, stunning her even more.
Now she definitely knew he was very much different than The Doctor. While he had a brash and insufferable attitude, this one, J.D, was warm and welcoming. Almost as if they had different personalities. "Oh, thanks." Jackie said, reluctantly hugging him back. It was really off-putting.
A chuckle from Jaime caught Jackie's attention. "Ye're right. They do have different personalities, 'cause they're two different people. J.D isnae like The Doctor, he is his own man."
Shocked, Jackie moved out of J.D's embrace and glared at Jaime. "Did you just read my Mind?" She accused, the question surprising everyone,
Jaime's naturally pale face turned a shade of faint pink. "Aye, sorry 'bout tha'. I know ye dinnae like it." The comment caused further confusion, but J.D knew she was just seeing something from the future. "Anyway, this is my sister, Jenny." The Scots-girl introduced next.
Jenny gave a happy wave and grinned widely. "Hello!" The young Time Lady took several steps towards Jackie. "It's nice to finally meet you." She said, and then as an afterthought that came from a niggling feeling, said; "My dad is The Doctor." She could see from the colour of his Aura and his wide-eyes that her dad feared what Jackie was going to react with.
Instead, Jackie just smiled, confusing Rose and causing The Doctor to raise a brow. "That's nice, darling," the older woman said. "Oh, come here!" She uttered and pulled the mostly surprised Jenny into her embrace.
The Doctor and Rose looked at each other with expressions of disbelief. They had really expected her kick off. Instead she was all smiles and hugs.
Jaime giggled at their reactions while J.D grinned. Alexia was still fangirling despite her denials.
Once Jackie finished hugging Jenny, she was then introduced to Amy and Rory. "Hello, how long have you been travelling with this lot?" Jackie asked the married couple.
Amy answered her first. "I was seven when they crash landed on top of the shed in my garden. Years later they returned and saved my village from an escaped alien prisoner." She explained.
"I didn't know Amy had been travelling with them until Jaime popped out of a fake cake at my stag night." Rory also explained. "And we've been travelling with them ever since."
"And they even came to our wedding." Amy added.
Jackie was clearly surprised before letting out a chuckle. "Ooohh, how terribly domestic of him!" She said, giving The Doctor a teasing smirk. The Time Lord just grimaced at this. "Come on then you lot," she spoke now. "Let's go inside before you get the neighbours all nosy!" She said.
The family of Time Travellers followed Jackie Tyler into the large home.
The inside of the house was just as impressive as the outside of the house. There was a spacious vestibule and then they were all led into the main hallway.
"Wow!" Jaime uttered, sounding well and truly impressed. She had never been in a house this expensive before. Fascinated, she walked around, spotting half open doors that led into the large rooms with plenty of seating. There was a door that was closed but she could hear voices behind it. Three, with one of them belonging to Pete Tyler. It seemed that someone was having a good talk. On the far side of the hallway was a set of stairs next to the wall. There was a landing, followed by another set of stairs to the upstairs.
"Must have been pretty expensive!" She heard The Doctor comment. "How were you able to afford all this then?" He asked. "When you've been in this Universe for over a year?" He was really desperate to find out what was going on and that was through his mode of questioning.
Jackie just smiled at him sheepishly. "It's way over my head," she told him. "I'm sure Pete will be able to explain it better than me. This way." They followed Jackie into a spacious sitting room, which also turned out to be an open plan kitchen with a breakfast bar. "Sit down if you want too. I'll be making some tea for anyone that wants one." And she walked over to the kitchen to put the kettle on.
A completely besotted Alexia decided to join her to help out.
The Doctor didn't sit down but Rose, Amy, Rory, Jenny and J.D did. The Doctor remained standing and paced somewhat agitatedly, while Jaime took a look out of the window of the back door at the garden. It was all neat and tidy. Nothing like she'd ever seen when she and her mum had lived in various parts of the UK back in their old universe.
"Where's Pete by the way?" The Doctor asked.
"Oh, he's in his office. In a meeting of sorts." Replied the older Tyler woman.
"And Tony?" Rose asked. She hadn't seen her brother for a long long time and hoped he'd be around.
"He's out with some of his friends. He should be back soon." Jackie told her daughter and Rose sighed.
A shudder ran through Jaime and J.D glanced at her when he sensed it. Jaime looked over at Jackie. Young Tony was certainly out somewhere, but not with friends. Future members of the family, maybe! Turning her attention back to the garden, Jaime closed her eyes and quietly reached out. There she could feel that tingle in the back of her Mind that warned her of close proximity to an earlier version of her. She wished they wouldn't be staying long in this Century, but she knew that wasn't going to be the case. And she worried about what they'd say once they found out. She sensed someone standing close to her and opened her eyes to find it was J.D.
There was a look of concern on his face. "Are you okay?" He asked her.
Jaime smiled thinly at him and considered just brushing off her worries. Instead she shook her head and took a deep breath before blowing it out. "I wish I was," she replied quietly. "But I've been in this Century before, around this time." The Half-Time Lord's brows raised in surprise. "I think us bein' here is the entire reason why I left and ended up in Wiltshire." She added. And into the Pandorica.
"So what you're saying is, we have to find a way to get her to move on, to push her into the next situation. A nicely tied up Paradox."J.D questioned. Jaime nodded her head. "So where is she?" He asked her.
"America, The States," Jaime answered. "But there's somethin' ye really need tae know…"
The arrival of Pete and his two guests into the room distracted her when she saw the familiarity of one of them. He was older, a lot older but it was his cherub face that she recognised. "Rassilon!" She uttered.
A confused J.D looked too and gasped when he saw it.
"And here's Pete," Jackie stated. "I thought you'd have been out sooner," she complained. "Look who's arrived whilst you were busy chatting away."
Pete Tyler nodded his head. "Yes, I heard," he replied. "Hello you!" Rose had gotten up off the chair and hugged her parallel dad. "This is Rose, my daughter," he explained to his two guests. "She's often travelling, so we don't get to see her much." Rose gave the two guests a smile but what one of them said next gave her cause for concern.
"Yes, it's nice to have the bairns home now and again," his accent was Northern, Hart-le-Pool region. "And where's this troubleshooter you were telling me about?" He now asked, looking around the room at the other guests.
Rose took a step away from her parallel dad as he too looked around the room. He spotted The Doctor stood behind the double seater that Amy and Rory were sat on. "There you are. This is The Doctor." He introduced the Time Lord to the two men.
Waves of impressiveness washed off the Northern one, his brows raising. "The Doctor?" He said, even sounding impressed, giving the Time Lord a full scrutinising. It made The Doctor shift nervously on his feet and he rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, you do keep good company, Pete. A Time traveller that often appeared in history books and dozens of UNIT and Torchwood Archive reports." He smirked at The Doctor's reaction. "We can all sleep soundly knowing you're on the case. Nice work with The Daleks by the way, though you do look very different to the images ive seen once the invasion was over."
The Doctor uttered a thank you as the Northern fella's attention returned to Pete. "It appears you've got a full house here, Pete, so I'll leave you to give him the full lowdown."
He and the other man turned to leave. "Hey, hold up!" Alexia called out. She was leaning against the breakfast bar with a mug of tea in her hands. "Is that a Hart-le-Pool accent I detect?" She asked.
The man turned to her and Jaime saw him smile the same smile she'd seen on his photos. "Yes, that's right. I'm from the Blackhall area. And what about you?" He counter-asked. "You sound like you come from Sunderland?" Alexia nodded her head. "I thought so. My favourite football team come from there."
Oh, yeah, definitely the same man.
"Are you Labour?" Alexia further questioned.
The man gave her a strange look. "No," he replied. "We're the Northern Independence Party. Ever since the Dalek invasion destroyed Westminster, Parliament has been held in York. The North has been thriving ever since it's change of location."
The men said their goodbyes and Pete saw them out before returning to the seating area/open plan kitchen. He looked at The Doctor, appearing to want to say something to him.
That was until he was distracted by Alexia. "Who was that?" She asked.
Brows raised, Pete looked at her, remembering The Doctor travelled with people out of their time. "Oh, yeah. That was Prime Minister Lowery and his Deputy, Seb Corbyn." He gave his answer.
"He became Prime Minister?" A shocked but amazed Jaime spoke up, a smile on her face.
"Yeah," Pete replied, looking a tad confused. "Why do you ask? You sound like you know him."
A sigh came from J.D as he thought about the man's younger alternate self while Pete did a double take when he saw the Half-Time Lord. "Oh, if only," J.D answered Pete's question. "We came across a version of him when jumping through the Dimensions. Or rather his funeral."
There was a moment of silence.
"Oh, what happened?" Rose asked.
"He was only six years old," Jaime continued with the story. "Some sort of aggressive childhood cancer." She felt waves of sadness from everyone else in the room.
"But he'd clearly made his mark on the world in such short amount of Time." J.D added. "There were hundreds of people at his funeral."
"Which included you and Jaime." The Doctor commented.
Jaime nodded her head. "Aye," she replied. "And we learned quite a lot 'bout him tae know tha' him and the man from this universe are the same person."
"Just from different Centuries." J.D added once more.
There were waves of fascination coming from both Pete and Jackie. Considering they both lived in a parallel universe they understood the differences.
"What about the other fella?" Alexia asked. "Because the name 'Corbyn' sounds familiar." There was definitely a Prime Minister Corbyn in the other Universe.
Pete nodded at this. "That's because his great great grand-dad was the 21st Century Orator Jeremy Corbyn," he said. "Bit of a rebel by all accounts."
And there goes another Universal difference.
Now Pete finally turned his attention to the Time Lord. "Doctor, we've got a problem, that's why we called you here. Do you think you can help?"
But The Doctor shook his head, a mild look of anger on his face. "No, not unless you tell me how a bottle of Vitex came to be in the possession of Queen!" He demanded.
Pete blinked at The Doctor's reaction. "Blimey! I didn't realise it was that popular!"
He joked. Laughter spilled out of Amy's mouth, while Alexia chuckled awkwardly and Jenny groaned,
So Pete began to give an explanation as to how Vitex came about in this Universe. And that was through the help of the Time Lord who had resettled them into this Universe and Century. The Time Lord in question, who was very obviously The Dynacracker, helped Pete set up Vitex on the Stock Market in the early 20th Century. Despite having brought enough money from the Parallel Universe, most of it wasn't compatible in the Prime Universe.
Then in the mid 21st Century, with Vitex doing quite well on the Market, Pete was able to set up a production and bottling plant in order to sell actual Vitex. Because it was marketed as a health drink it was popular with the dieters and marathon runners. It even became sponsor of The London Marathon for several years. And because of that the Tylers became the focus of the elites and politics.
Pete became acquainted with all sorts of rich and famous. Including the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister, in which he became a Special Advisor.
Finding politics not her thing, Alexia had turned away to place her empty mug on the breakfast bar. Then spotting a folded up newspaper on the bench she picked it up and gave the front page a cursory glance. It was the day's edition of The Independent and the headline was some sort of scandal involving a Tory MP. Rolling her eyes in disgust, Alexia opened up the paper and scanned through the articles.
In the background she heard Jackie comment about something and smiled. Whilst they made the teas, Alexia had told the older Tyler woman how she and her daughter came from a parallel universe. And further explained how exactly she knew Jackie. In turn, Jackie had been surprised and asked her about her daughter and her upbringing. It was all terribly complicated but Alexia explained what she could. And her story had left the older Tyler woman shocked and impressed.
Sighing, Alexia flipped to the next page, quickly scanned through the articles before flipping to the next page.
But just as she was about to flip to the next page something caught her eye and she gasped. Standing up straight she stared at the article. It was about the U.S President Barron Trump, which made Alexia wonder if he was related to Donald Trump? This President Trump had recently been snapped with a mysterious stranger who was in the President's ear and was the true Mastermind behind the… Alexia shook her head and felt sick to her stomach over what the rest of the article said. …the voluntary Indenturement and Servitude Program.
America was back to its slavery days all because of her daughter, the one she raised with the help of her parents. What had either version of her daughter gone and done? "Doctor!" She called out but didn't get a reply. "Doc…" she turned and caught the current version of her daughter looking at her with wide eyes, clearly feeling what she felt.
Then Jaime looked away, truly shame faced.
J.D was at her side with his arm around her shoulders. Alexia turned her attention to the conversation, listening to Pete talk about a possible alien incursion in U.S Politics.
"There's photographic and video evidence that this female is very much in control of the President, changing politics and ripping up certain parts of the Constitution in the worst possible way. This female, this possible alien has completely turned the United States on its head and I think it's going to take a long time for it to return to the way it was. Doctor, can you help?"
There was silence while The Doctor seemed to contemplate the request. He then frowned. "Do you have any idea what this alien looks like?" He asked Pete who nodded his head and held up the brown folder he had in his hands, given to him by the Prime Minister.
"There's every little of info we've got on this alien in here, photos, the lot," it looked like J.D and Jaime were in silent conversation. "Unfortunately we haven't yet a name for this thing…"
And that was when Alexia snapped. "Excuse me! That's my daughter you're talking about!" She said and snatched up the newspaper to show them the image in the article.
There were several shocked exclamations of 'what!' In the room followed by an annoyed complaint from Pete about leaks.
Seconds later Alexia turned her attention to her shame faced daughter. "What the hell have you been doing?" She demanded rather angrily.
Suitably embarrassed all Jaime could do was shake her head and mumble an apology. She was spared from further interrogation when the front door was heard opening, slammed closed and then followed by hurried footsteps.
A ginger haired boy of maybe eight or nine years of age came running into the room. He saw Rose and smiled happily. "Rose!" He cried out.
"Tony? Oh my god!" Rose uttered in shock considering he was a toddler the last time she saw him. "Come here!" Tony ran to her and the two reunited siblings hugged it out.
