The Frye-Cudahy Residence
When the dinner between Brooke, Tom, Livia, Elliot, Matthew and Laura was done at the Yatch Club, things were still tense between Elliot and Tom. It didn't help that the man who killed Tom and Brooke's daughter was back in town despite Matthew wanting his father to be there for the wedding between himself and Laura. Livia, Brooke and Laura didn't want any of the three men to fight due to what happened all those years ago. Elliot on the other hand knew what could happen when he returned to Pine Valley, but like he stated before, he's there for Matthew and that's that. Tom went back home while Livia went back to City Hall so she can continue her work as the mayor of Pine Valley. Still feeling tense and stressed, Tom decided to use the treadmill downstairs in the workout room that they have that the two use among other items like dumbbell's, weights etc. and more. Changing from what he wore earlier, Tom, dressed in sweat pants and a white shirt, puts on his boxing gloves after he stepped off the treadmill. Approaching the punching bag, Tom imagined Elliot's head was at the middle of the body bag before he started punching it over and over again.
Tom - "That'll teach you to not mess with someone else's lives...you took my daughter away from me...she could be here right now but no...you took her...away...from...ME!"
Tom continued to punch the bag over and over again, almost imagining that he was laying hands on Elliot pretty face. As Tom continued to punch into the body bag, Livia, who came home from City Hall wanted to surprise Tom but couldn't find him in the house when she looked around.
Livia - "Where is he?"
Suddenly hearing the sound of something downstairs, Livia immediately figured Tom was downstairs using the punching bag. Walking over to the door of one of their basements, Livia comes downstairs and sees Tom punching furiously at the bag. She could see the rage in his eyes, wishing the punching bag was Elliot Freemen instead.
Livia - "Tom...tom...TOM!"
Tom stopped when he heard Livia's voice and looked over at her with pain, emotion, and fear written all over his face. Livia walked up closer to her husband but stopped as she knows her husband is going through a lot right now.
Tom - "Livia, what are you doing here? I thought you would be at City Hall for the rest of the day"
Livia - "Did you really think I would be down there dealing with a bunch of bureaucrats for the rest of the day ? Besides, all my meetings were finished and I wanted to come home...to be with you. Are you okay?"
Before Tom could answer, it felt as it Tom had to be honest to his wife of many years as he should. But he couldn't and started to break down slowly removing his gloves.
Tom - "No Liv...I am not alright...it's just not fair to me. My daughter's killer is out there, chumming it up his son who'll marry Brooke's daughter...none of this feels right"
Throwing down both gloves, Tom started to cry in tears before he sat down on the bench after what happened today. Livia, who felt so bad for her husband, sat down next to him on the bench before hugging her husband. Livia would feel the same way if the killer of her two sons was in town running a muck and not paying for what he did. She knew Brooke had already deal with it but not Tom. She never got the chance to ask him if Tom confronted Elliot but a part of her didn't want to know. It was Tom's call on what he wanted to do, but for her husband, he wanted to focus more on the positive than then the negative. Now though, for Liv, it felt like Tom may focus more on the negative than the positive since Elliot is back in Pine Valley for god knows how long. She could see how this was affecting Tom and Livia remembered how much Laura meant so much for him, for Brooke, for their family. If Laura was still alive, she would of grew up with both Terrance and Jamal. All three of them would have been close, having each others backs and supporting one another. Now that won't happen thanks to Elliot, but what will Tom going to do from here on out? Livia hoped that he wouldn't take the law into his own hands and become a martyr.
The Park
Needing a minute to get herself together, Brooke came to the park where there was no one else but just herself which was perfect as she sits down on a bench. She wasn't going to be here long but Brooke had to get away from what happened after that near disaster of a get together between her adopted daughter, Laura's fiancé Matthew, Tom, Livia, and the man responsible for one of Brooke's other daughters death Elliot Freeman. Matthew and especially Laura was never told the entire story her sisters death, well Brooke told her, just not the name of the man who did it. Elliot on the other hand, despite trying to be there for his son felt uncomfortable too at the same time with Tom almost staring at him through the entire process. Brook couldn't blame Tom but in the end there was nothing they could do. Laura wanted to marry Matthew regardless of what she saw at The Yatch Club because she knows people make bad choices, people make mistakes, it's all about what someone does to move forward. Just seeing Elliot again made Brooke feel uneasy and confront everything that happened on that night all over again. Not even paying attention, she felt someone's fall arms around her leg before Brooke looks down and see's her granddaughter Camille before smiling at her.
Brooke - "Hey sweet pea, when did you get here?"
Camille - "Hi grandma, mommy, daddy and I just got here. Ae you okay grandma?"
Brooke was about to answer until she looked up seeing Jamie and Colby walking up to them. Boy did she feel glad to see all of them here and despite needing some time to herself, she welcomes the company actually. Camille ran over to one of the swings before she started to use it to play.
Jamie - "Hey mom, what are you doing out here by yourself?"
Brooke - "Oh just...thinking about some things you know, I just saw your sister at the Yatch Club. She's back in town briefly with her fiancé Matthew"
Jamie - "She's back in town? I met Matthew before when Colby and I visited them awhile ago. How is she?"
Brooke - "We had a get together with Laura, Matthew, Tom, Livia but someone else showed up, someone I thought to never see again after the last time we met"
Jamie - "Who?"
Brooke - "Elliot Freeman"
Colby - "Did you just say Elliot Freeman? Wasn't he the man who-"
Jamie - "Killed my sister"
Brooke noticed how Jamie's jaw tighten when she said Elliot's name and knew this was coming. There's no reason for Jamie not to forget his sister Laura despite not having the chance to be a brother to her. He would always ask his mom about Laura from what she heard about whenever Brooke spoke to Tom, Livia or anyone else in big gatherings, special occasions right here in Pine Valley. So Brooke would tell him, but she never told Jamie the real truth of her death until he was older. It made him furious that his mother even dated the guy but she didn't know his true name until Elliot forced himself to tell Brooke the truth. And to hear that he's also in Pine Valley made Jamie feel uneasy, thankfully Colby was being a supportive wife. He felt Colby hold his hand and give it a soft squeeze which cause some of the anger Jamie felt go away. Brooke smiled, glad that her daughter in law was there for her son as his wife, giving him the best gift in the world in Camille. It's a good thing that Camille didn't hear the conversation going on between all of them because she would be immediately worried, wondering, asking who Elliot is. At least she's a kid and gets to enjoy the rest of her life growing up.
Valdez, Naples
Stepping off of the jet, Dimitri stepped in his limo after arriving in Valdez after many long hours of flight. On the way over here after the phone call from Maria, he was just thinking of what could happen between himself and Edmund Grey, his awoken brother who was in a coma for the longest. There was so much he wanted to tell him and explain to the man about what he missed out on, including how he was taken from Alexandra and placed here when she didn't even tell Dimitri tell the last minute. A part of him felt he should thank his ex-wife for saving his brother but Dimitri didn't know where she was, which is a good thing. Dimitri didn't care what she was doing. As long as she's away from Edmund, Maria and his entire family then that's good. They're divorced anyway so he didn't have to worry about the drama, the trouble she's forcing on other people, but they had to get out of Valdez ASAP, then head back to Pine Valley to plan their next steps. Arriving at the medical facility, Dimitri closed his eyes, took a deep breath, then stepped out when the chauffer opens the door. Walking inside the facility he heads to Edmund's room before he see's Maria talking to Edmund as the two noticed Dimitri.
Edmund - "Dimitri"
Dimitri - "Edmund"
Dimitri sadly smiled and before you knew it, he hugged Edmund who hugged Dimitri back. The two brothers were reunited as Maria got out of the way but watched the two embrace each other which felt like forever in a decade.
Edmund - "You look like your old self, the old Dimitri that is"
Dimitri - *Chuckles* "Thanks, from the bandages that's covering your face and head I am sure you're ready for those to come off"
Edmund - "Hell yeah I want these to come off but I would like to know how all of this happened, how you and Alexandra pulled it off"
Dimitri - "Did you tell him Maria?"
Maria - "Not everything, just some of the details but I decided to let you tell him all the rest"
Dimitri - "Sounds good, but first, can you get a doctor and a nurse in here to take off the bandages?"
Maria - "Of course, I will be right back, but just make sure he doesn't move from his bed. We don't know if he's still paralyzed or not"
The two men watch her leave the room before Dimitri looks at Edmund and sits down in the chair. Dimitri clears his throat and looks up at Edmund as he was about to tell him everything.
Dimitri - "Well brother, are you ready? Because it's quite a doozy"
Edmund - "I've been through a lot in my life Dimitri. That includes being in a coma for many years, now waking up...tell me everything from beginning to end"
Dimitri slowly nodded before he began to go through the sequence of events that brought them all here. He made sure to not leave any detail out of how all of this came to be. Dimitri hoped Edmund understood everything in the end and what they need to do now in order to make sure the people they love were safe. As Edmund started to hear everything about his resurgence so to speak, he was shocked and angry at the same time. He may be a little mad at Dimitri for not telling the children right away, but Alexandra is the one who decided to play god with Edmund's life, almost risking everything. Thankfully Maria, the children, Dimitri, all of them wasn't hurt because of Alexandra but the Alexandra Edmund knew back then had completely changed. What caused her to become a DVX and turn her back on her family, Anna, everyone that mattered to her, not just in Pine Valley but also in Port Charles too when it comes to her sister, her nieces, etc. First it was the crime family who was after Edmund, putting a bullet into him causing the man to be in a wheel chair before he met his demise. Now, a mad woman Edmund once cared for, loved for was after the people she loved...but Edmund and Dimitri were not going to let that happen at all.
The Frye-Cudahy Residence
Livia held her husband in her arms as Tom continued to cry, thinking about his daughter who should be here right now. The people in this world who are parents, who have children, lost them to tragedy know how Tom's feeling right now. All that anger, that sadness, that rage he felt the day he lost Laura came back, and just like that, Tom snapped. It was something he couldn't control, he would of done more if it wasn't for three people, Brooke, Matthew and of course his wife Livia, then who knows what else Tom would do to Elliot. Many people would sympathize with Tom but some handled grief in different ways. Tom did grieve for Laura a long time after her death and never got over it even when he moved on with Livia, raising Terrance and Jamal. Every time he would see Jamal and Terrence playing he just wished Laura was there to hang out, to play with them, it didn't feel right to him. Nothing can replace the death of child, not even a new one that comes, or one to adopt, and there's nothing that could be done to bring Laura back. The Laura that Brooke adopted and raised into her own would have a great life with Matthew, but Elliot...that bastard doesn't deserve to live as Tom stood up, rubbing his eyes after he stopped crying.
Tom - "I'm sorry you had to see that Livia. It would have been very embarrassing, not just for me but for you, Brooke, Laura, and Matthew too"
Livia - "You're right about one thing, it would be embarrassing for me. Tom, I am the mayor of Pine Valley, you know how the paparazzi are when it comes to stuff like that. They go on for days, harassing, hounding you with different questions and such...but you were suffering"
Tom - "Because of my daughter who's buried six feet under, yeah I know honey. It doesn't excuse my actions though and I apologize"
Livia smiled a bit before she stood up and comforted her husband by putting her hands on his shoulders. The woman was proud of her husband for what he just told Livia, at least he knew when he was wrong.
Livia - "You're forgiven Tom, so you don't need to apologize to me anymore. I understand what you did, I just...what are you going to do next? Will you go after him?"
Tom - "What? And kill him? Is that what you're trying to ask?"
Livia - "You know what I was trying to ask Tom, you're my husband and wives have a right to worry about their husbands"
Tom - "Never said you didn't have a right to worry about me. As for Elliot...no, I won't go after him, it's not worth it"
Livia - "Are you sure?"
Tom - "Of course I am Livia. As much as I don't like what he did to my daughter, Matthew is his son. Taking away another child's father or father's son for that matter is just cruel, that's not me"
Livia - "Good, because if you did then I would be disappointed in you. Tom, we've been married for a long time and I know how much Laura meant to you, to Brooke. It's a shame that she was taken from this world at a young age because of Elliot's actions. But Laura wouldn't want you to do anything stupid"
Tom - "No she wouldn't...boy do I wish she was here now. She would be getting married as well, but that won't happen because of Elliot"
Livia - "And there's nothing you can do about it Tom, let it go, move on. Brooke has moved on too, focus on the day when you walk Laura down to the aisle so that her and Matthew tie the knot"
Tom - "Right, how about we order something for dinner tonight?"
Livia - "Sounds like a plan to me Tom, how about you let me order after I change into something more comfortable. Then we can have the night to ourselves so continue you're done with your workout"
Tom - *Grins* "Now that's the best thing I have heard all day. I need to finish my work out, then I will go upstairs, take a shower, change and we'll wait for our delivery together"
Livia - "Of course, I love you Tom"
Tom - "I love you too Livia"
Both Tom and Livia kissed as he watches his wife go upstairs and then sighs. Picking up the boxing gloves, he was going to put them back on, but then thought of what happened today and shrugged it off. There was no need for Tom to think about Elliot or anything else, this was about Laura and Matthew's happiness. Elliot's son Matthew didn't need to see what took place today as Tom reminded himself to call Laura so that he could meet with Matthew to discuss the incident. Tom didn't know if Matthew was going to bring his father along because if he did, it would be difficult for Tom at first. But Tom remembered what he and Livia just spoke of, letting it go for Laura's sake, for Matthew, for Brooke, for Laura's sake too. Would it be enough though? Is it enough? Elliot got out of prison, changed his previous name and became a priest, so he lived a good life after killing his daughter. It felt like he got rewarded for being a good boy instead of paying the price as Tom's jaw tighten, he clenched his teeth a bit before he started to hit the body bag again. The image of Elliot on the top of the bag was in Tom's mind, as it felt like he was punching Elliot over and over again so whatever Livia told him obviously didn't work.
The Park
Briefly looking at Camille, who was on the swing and enjoying herself, using it, Colby was glad to not here the conversation between herself, Jamie and Brooke about Elliot, including Laura's death. She could never imagine, a mother herself losing Camille at the hands of someone who could be so selfish and so damn reckless from a car incident, the one Laura suffered at the hands of Elliot Freeman. Despite Colby comforting Jamie by taking his hand and giving it a soft squeeze, it took away only some of the anger away from him, not a lot. He still couldn't believe after all these years, Elliot had the nerve to come back to Pine Valley. Yes, the man had a son who was engaged to Laura but to heck with that, Elliot should of thought of never coming back in the first place. Looking at her mother, who was still bothered by the entire situation previously at the Yatch Club, Jamie felt bad for her. She shouldn't have to see his face once again after the past twenty years when they were together at one point. Heck, he couldn't believe Brooke dated the guy and if she was still with him then there would have been problems between Elliot and Jamie. He closed his eyes and then sighed a bit before opening his eyes.
Colby - "Are you okay honey?"
Jamie - "Sorry Colby, mom, I just can't wrap my head around it you know? My sister's killer is in Pine Valley like nothing happened to him"
Brooke - "Jamie he went to prison for a long time before he was released, he's changed"
Jamie - "Yeah he's changed. Changed his name, became a priest and the whole nine yards but what about Laura? What about her? She's...she's dead because of him"
Brooke - "I know honey but there's nothing we can do about it. Elliot is here for his son Matthew, to see him marry Laura, that's it"
Jamie - "It better be, you don't deserve to be put in that position to see his face again after all that time mom"
Brooke - "Jamie, I have been through much worse and this is no different. I'll survive"
Colby - "That must have been so hard for you to loose your daughter that way Brooke. If I lost my own live to drunk driver, or Camille, my mom, myself...we both"
Jamie - "Let's not even think about that Colby. Our daughter is still here in this world because of love and protection"
Colby - "You're right Jamie, I don't even know why I think of that"
Brooke - "It's just your instincts kicking in Colby, there's nothing wrong with that but I don't blame you. That night was so hard on all of us, including myself"
Jamie - "From everything you told me about Laura, she would have been a great big sister you know?"
Brooke - "Yes she would and I know you would be a great brother to her, just like you have for Laura in the past too"
Jamie - "And now she's getting married to Matthew. That guy better not hurt her though mom and I mean it"
Brooke - "Matthew is a very nice guy Jamie and he wouldn't hurt Laura at all"
Jamie - "I hope you're right"
Brooke - "Well anyway I should be going right now. Tempo needs their managing editor and journalist back at the office"
Jamie - "Mom wait, how about you stay a little more before you leave? I'm sure Tempo magazine can run itself while you're away
Brooke - "I don't know about that Jamie-"
Jamie - "Pretty please with sugar on top?"
Brooke looked up at Jamie and noticed the puppy dog look that her adult son was showing. That made her laugh as her son sure does know when to be funny these days for sure.
Brooke - "Oh alright Jamie, i'll stay but only for a couple of minutes"
Jamie - "Good, that's all I ask mom, thank you. I love you"
Brooke - "I love you too son"
Brooke and Jamie hug as Brooke felt better but still felt as if she couldn't forget about today already. It was a day like this where all of that Brooke experienced was dumped on to her lap, but that's life. There's nothing Brooke could do for Tom, or stop the man from getting her revenge but she hoped Livia could talk some sense into her husband on that front. Maybe Brooke should stop by and meet with Tom so they should discuss this privately. Watching Jamie walking away so that he can be with Colby and Camille, Brooke smiled, glad that her son at least was not full of rage nor wanted Elliot dead. Brooke wasn't going to hold it against the man of disliking Elliot, he had every right to do that. At least her granddaughter hopefully wasn't going to experience all of that growing up but she had the support, the love of her parents to guide her. Later on as Brooke left and said goodbye to her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, she left the park and went to the parking lot before getting in her car. Starting it up, she drove out of there and back to Tempo, wiping away some tears since she was alone for the moment.
Valdez, Naples
While Dimitri spoke to Edmund (Eddie Cibirian) still about Pine Valley and everything else, the doctor and the nurse were both slowly removing the bandages from Edmund's face. Even though a part of him is glad to be alive, he was eager and curious to see what he looked like. It made sense at first that his face had third degree burns and that the man needed surgery but wasn't it necessary? He could of recovered so he wouldn't have to deal with surgery or anything but he didn't trust Alexandra, not after what Dimitri told him about the two of them. Edmund still couldn't wrap his head around the sudden change of Alexandra and wondered if Anna knew anything about her whereabouts. But Edmund didn't need to worry about her, he needed to worry about the people he loves including Maria who he noticed was watching this as well. A part of Maria felt like she needed to thank Alexandra for at least saving her husband because if she didn't, then Maria would moved on full from Edmund. But Maria can never trust that witch again, no one lays a hand on her family, not her husband her children, Dimitri, no one, as the unwrapping was done and Maria, Dimitri, none of them couldn't believe.
Maria - "Wow Edmund, you look..."
Edmund - "You look what...how do I look?"
Dimitri - "Well not that bad at all, if I could say so, Alexandra did a masterful job"
Edmund - "I need a mirror to see who I look like...anyone?"
Maria - "I got one"
Maria took out a small mirror and held it up for Edmund to look at it. When Edmund saw the reflection in the mirror, his face was different. He had the same color of eyes but different hair which is black and different face too.
Edmund - "And this is what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life...even if I do stick around"
Dimitri - "Edmund, I will do everything in my power to make sure you and the family are safe"
Edmund - "I know you do Dimitri but Alexandra is different and she has an army with her called the DVX who'll be gunning after her"
Maria - "And the children as well"
Dimitri - "A part of me feels that this is all of my fault, if I had just acted earlier and took Alexandra out-"
Edmund - "Don't be too hard on yourself Dimitri, you protected me and made sure she didn't come after any of our loved ones"
Maria - "Edmund's right Dimitri...now I just hoped the children can understand when we tell them. Not that you knew Dimitri but I knew too. I mean I am there mother and they should have been told"
Edmund - "Hey, don't beat yourself up as well Maria. They'll understand but be more pissed off at the two of you then me"
Maria - "Because of everything that happened right? A lot of has changed Edmund and I don't know how they would react when seeing your new face"
Dimitri - "They won't actually recognize you right off the bat"
Edmund - "Well then I welcome it when I tell the kids everything of what their father knows about them. They'll be shocked but happy too"
Maria - "That's always you Edmund, so determine to make sure everything and everyone is okay. You were such a good father to those children"
Edmund - "You were a good mother too Maria, despite the bad times we always managed to make it through another day"
Maria - "That is true, but when we do leave here I don't want to go back to Miami. Not just yet, I want to come back to Pine Valley. Our son attends college there"
Edmund - "Are you sure? I know you'll probably be there to visit and see our son but we don't know what else will happen"
Maria - "Well we're going to tell Sam and eventually Maddie that your alive right? They should know Edmund"
Dimitri - "And they should Maria but we all need to be careful from this day out until it's over. When we get back to Pine Valley we'll tell Sam and eventually Maddie then go about it from there"
Maria - "Where's Edmund staying?"
Dimitri - "At Wildwind unless things get out of control. Alexandra or someone else finds out you're alive but there is something else the two of you need to know before we leave"
Edmund - "Let me guess, something mind-blowing"
Dimitri - "Julia, your sister Maria, she's alive...along with Noah recently as well"
Maria's jaw dropped, wishing she could not be surprised of what the man just said but she was just stunned. Her expression was priceless as Dimitri explained everything and even for Edmund, he wasn't surprised since no one in the town of Pine Valley never stayed dead. Maria couldn't believe that she was getting back her husband, former brother-in-law and her sister, two people she was closer to over many years. But the more he explained, the more Maria started to become worried. Her son was in Pine Valley attending college, Julia was staying at Wildwind away from The Dragon, Noah's alive but with amnesia, now Edmund's alive as well. How much more can one woman take? What mattered now was everyone's safety as Dimitri arranged the jet to get ready as he made some phone calls outside. Helping her husband get up carefully Maria handed Edmund his clothing too, surprised that he was standing himself too after spending time in the wheelchair before his so called 'death. Stepping outside to give Edmund privacy, Maria was absorbing all of this information and what she's going through which is a lot to take. But better days may be coming ahead for her and her entire family down the road.
