Limit: Part Nine: They can take your world
Vanitas and Sky arrived in the dark forest that led them to the Forbidden Mountain. As they got closer, Vanitas began to feel slightly different. In fact, upon walking on the soil that led to the evil place, Vanita's large Dark Fey wings began to melt on the ground. His skin then began to dry up, and the dark armor he once wore took over his body. His hair also changed back to it's dark color as well, eliminating his dark fey horns. His eyes burned yellow and for the first time ever, Vanitas felt helpless. He watched as his glorious wings were long gone. They were on the ground, molted with feathers all over the place.
Vanitas felt an intense pain swelling in his chest. A pain he never felt before. He closed his eyes and forced back tears. Vanitas held his breath tightly too. It was a terrible pain Vanitas had never experienced before. The loss of his wings and natural skin color were gone. He was back to being Vanitas. Pure Darkness. That was what he was.
But then, Vanitas felt something warm. Something that assured him that everything will be okay. This warm feeling he felt…. It was unlike any other sensation he ever felt. He opened his eyes, releasing the tears and looked at his waist to see Sky give him a warm hug.
"I'm so sorry about your wings. They were beautiful." said Sky.
Vanitas didn't reply. The hug Sky was giving him was warming his black heart. Or, was it really black and empty as the void of Darkness? He patted Sky on the head and fought back his tears.
"They were just a disguise," he said.
"It's so cruel of Maleficent to do this to you." said Sky.
Vanitas knelt down to Sky's level and shook his head. "I wanted power. And in a way, I still do. But things have changed all of a sudden. I can't explain it." said Vanitas.
"I think I have the answer. You were lonely. And now that you're with me, you're not lonely anymore." said Sky.
Vanitas smiled. "Oh Sky. What am I going to do? Once you go back to your family, what can I do?"
"You can come live with us at Destiny Islands! My Dad will understand. He believes in second chances. And so does my Uncle Goofy. You can live on the beach! You can play in the sand and you can have a family there!" said Sky.
"Sounds like paradise." said Vanitas.
"If Destiny Islands isn't your style, try Twilight Town. Or Radiant Garden. But please come to the Islands. You'll love it there!" said Sky.
"Sky, I wish I could. But I will be denied a family and the warmth I so want for myself." said Vanitas.
"You can find that by becoming a friend yourself. You made me your friend. You can do the same." said Sky
Suddenly, the sky went dark. Honestly, much darker than it already was. Both Sky and Vanitas looked up and they realized time was running out. Something bad was going to happen just that moment.
"Riku, didn't you hear what Pete said on the report! We've been found out!" cried Roxas as they were heading towards the launching bay of Gummi Ships.
Launchpad McQuack, Chip, Dale and Gyro were already on the computers getting everything ready for liftoff. Riku gave them a thumbs up and they prepared a vessel for Riku.
"Maleficent got most of the villains off from the Forbidden Mountain. This is the opportunity we were waiting for." said Riku.
Sora appeared before Riku and Roxas and spoke quickly. "Roxas! It's Axel! He's safe and sound at Twilight Town!" cried Sora.
Roxas hugged Sora with so much appreciation. "Sora, thank you so much, but I already knew that… and I have bad news. Axel and Summer went to the Forbidden Mountain." said Roxas.
"What?" asked Sora.
"Pete told us everything. And it was Max who set us up." said Roxas.
"That no good loser." said Sora.
"Enough you two. We all are going to stop Maleficent. And Roxas, your son is there. Why don't you want me to go?" asked Riku.
"Your kid is still here. Emily! If Maleficent does something to you?" asked Roxas.
"This won't be the first time Maleficent has hurt me. Besides, if she goes down, things will be simpler for all of us." said Riku.
"Roxas, we're a team. We got this." said Sora.
"I know guys, but I just don't want anyone to get hurt." said Roxas.
"No one will be hurt. Besides, all Maleficent does is swing that cane of hers around. What's the worst she can do?" asked Sora.
"Did you forget she turns into a huge fire breathing dragon?" asked Riku.
Sora was about to say something when he nodded in agreement. "How could I forget that one?"
"We've seen so many villains transform over the years nothing impresses us anymore." said Roxas.
At the Forbidden Mountain, Maleficent, Jafar, Ursula, and Hades were awaiting the heroes to come forth. They were ready to face whoever dared to challenge them. They knew Riku, Roxas, Sora, Kairi and perhaps the fair Xion and timid Namine might appear to stop them. Max stood by Jafar's side as he held his shoulder.
"You're making a wise decision my boy. The darkness is the true winning side." said Jafar.
"How could you be sure?" asked Max.
"Light burns. That is a good enough answer for me." said Hades.
"And light is the cause of discrimination for all of us. The heroes believe that just because of the way we look, that automatically makes us "evil" or "bad." said Ursula.
"And just because you're the ruler of the dead, that automatically gets you not to get invites to weddings or social events hosted by the Gods. How many birthday parties have I missed because of my good looks?" asked Hades.
Jafar, Max and Ursual gave Hades a look.
Just then, a portal of light opened right in front of them. The villains braced themselves for whoever was going to face them. Out of the portal came not the heroes they were expecting, but a new generation of Guardians of Light.
Summer, Axel, Pete and PJ came forth.
"What's this? Only four heroes?" asked Hades.
"There's four of us." said Max.
"Where's Vanitas!" cried Summer.
"Vanitas? Why do you ask for that low life. He's not here. Only us." said Maleficent.
"You evil, vile woman." said PJ.
"Pete, you traitor. How dare you come to challenge my power." said Maleficent.
"I have nothing more to say to you, you crazy messed up woman!" cried Pete.
"Is that supposed to threaten me?" asked Maleficent, scoffing in disgust.
Axel pulled out his guns and fired immediately. He didn't want to talk or ask questions. He wanted to get this over with. Ursula quickly rolled on the floor. Hades was immune and he simply laughed. Maleficent also made sure the bullets only went through her like a phantom and Max used a shield to block the bullets.
Jafar on the other hand was not lucky. The old wizard was hit and he fell to the ground. But his serpent staff was alive and well. It rose up into the sky and Hades cackled with pure delight.
"Nice going kid! With the old vizier dead as a door nail, the blood pact he made with his staff is going haywire. In other words, he who kicked Jafar to his grave will also get to go with him! And hey, I'm hosting you guys down under!"
The staff then came to life and a giant serpent was born. Axel cussed under his breath and fired at the snake. Summer pulled her Keyblade and shot multiple rays of light against the serpent.
Maleficent, Ursula and Hades quickly turned the other way.
"While Jafar's pet handles things, we should get out of here. It seems that even our little potluck got cancelled early." said Maleficent.
"On what Gummi Ship?" asked Ursula.
"I'll open a portal and you all go back." said Maleficent.
"Wait, you're staying?" asked Hades.
"Of course I'm staying! Once the pet devours the children, I'll have to tame the serpent and turn it back into a staff. With Jafar dead, his staff will be of great use for us." said Maleficent.
"Makes sense," said Ursula.
"Sounds like fun." said Hades with an evil grin.
Axel kept firing bullets at the snake, which was very agile and it slithered all over the battlefield.
"How can we stop this thing?!" cried PJ.
"We need more hands on deck!" cried Pete.
Summer attacked the snake on the face and it opened it's large ugly mouth, trying to devour her. Just then, someone quickly came to Summer's rescue and punched the snake with his fist, infused with light.
"Giving up already? C'mon Summer, I thought you were stronger than that!" Sky said aloud.
"Sky! You bonehead! Where did you go?!" cried Summer.
"Geez! No "how your doing?" or "we missed you?" Really, you need to work on your social skills." said Sky.
The friends quickly gave a hug and Sky jumped high into the air to punch the snake.
Vanitas arrived and he used his dark Keyblade to help out.
"You're on our side?" asked Axel, surprised.
"Your friend is very persuasive. He's one of the good ones after all." said Vanitas.
Axel nodded. "Well, if you dare change sides again, I'll be ready to take you on." he said.
"Noted." replied Vanitas.
Everyone was quickly trying to take down the snake and while this happened, Heartless appeared out of nowhere and attacked the heroes.
Maleficent used her rod to summon them! "Hear me Heartless, dispose of the guardians of light!" she screamed out loud.
Just then, a giant light portal opened and a large Gummi Ship flew in. And then, large cables landed on the ground and sliding on the cables were the heroes themselves; Sora, Donald, Goofy, Riku, Kairi, Namine, Roxas, Xion, and King Mickey.
Behind them were enchanted brooms wearing helmets and carrying spears and swords and shields.
Maleficent couldn't help but laugh. "Is this your idea of an army? Brooms! I might as well set them on fire!"
"Just try your cracked up slave driver." said Riku. He jumped from the cables and tried to attack Maleficent with his Keyblade. She used her staff to deflect Riku's attacks and she was surprisingly agile for a witch wearing a long black cloak.
Meanwhile, Sora and Kairi held hands and they jumped from the cables forming angel wings and they destroyed the tail of the snake.
Sky looked away embarrassed. "Your parent's powers are…." Vanitas was saying.
"I know. The power of waking." said Sky.
"What now?" asked Vanitas.
"The power of waking. It's actually love itself." replied Sky.
Roxas and Xion instead combined their Keyblades together and they formed a massive sphere of fire, throwing it at the snake's head. While this happened, Goofy turned around and saw Max, trying to run away.
Donald was standing next to him and pulled his arm. "Don't. Don't go after him." said Donald.
"He hurt a lot of good folks. He needs to hear something good from his father!" said Goofy. Donald clenched his teeth and let Goofy go. He then chased after Max in the dungeons.
