Limit: Part Ten: Goofy VS Max
Max tried to run as fast as he could to the dungeons of the Forbidden Mountain. He ran as fast as he could. That is until Goofy caught up to him.
"How did you find me?" he asked, almost out of breath.
Goofy didn't answer and folded his arms. His shield was not with him. "Why did you hurt your brother?" he asked.
"He was in the way. I have other things to do, Dad." said Max.
"You can't go back with the Heartless son. They are going to eat your heart if you continue going with them." said Goofy.
"Dad, this is the ultimate power. I feel powerful. I feel alive. I need this." said Max.
"Why do you need the Heartless? What can they give you that we cannot?" asked Goofy.
"For starters, the Heartless give me power. I can take control of things and situations with the power of darkness. It's my calling Dad." said Max.
"You're calling? No. More like trying to escape from tomorrow." said Goofy.
"What did you say?" asked Max angrily.
"Escape from tomorrow. It's a very sad and terrible story from a world that has been infected with darkness. You don't know it because Maleficent and Pete kept it from you." said Goofy.
"What story?! The heck are you talking about Dad?!" cried Max.
Goofy cleared his throat as he told Max a most depressing tale:
"The story is about a family that has been destroyed because of darkness. The father was a man who wanted to be led astray by his lustful desires. The mother was a woman who felt nothing but hatred for her family. The children were both having darkness in their hearts and they were carrying it around like a heavy backpack. One day, they went to a kingdom full of princesses, and giant talking mice. A kingdom that looked beautiful on the outside, but inside there was darkness all over. To make a long story short, the family were led to different paths, each full of darkness. And in the end, the father died because of a disease that the kingdom kept a secret. And the family was torn apart forever."
Max scoffed at his father. "Why are you telling me this? And why do you sound so different right now?" asked Max.
"Maxie, the story was told to me a long time ago by Mickey himself. He heard this from Master Yen Sid, who unfortunately saw this happen in a nightmare he had one night. We don't know if this story really happened before the Keyblade Wars, or if it's in another dimension. But the lesson is loud and clear. Darkness destroys families. You've seen it for yourself many times. Maleficent. Pete. Ursula. All of them came from loving families until they went to the darkness of comfort." said Goofy.
"And look at the power they have! They can rule the world!" cried Max.
"No Max. Darkness wants to rule the world. It's using them as puppets. Once Darkness gets what it wants, it will throw away the people who worship it." said Goofy.
"You sound very sage like? Why is that?" asked Max.
"Son, I may appear to be stupid, or cartoony, or perhaps very innocent. But I'm not ignorant. Nor am I easy to fool. I've seen things that you haven't seen and let me tell you son, this path your going on will lead to you nothing but heartbreak. Please Max, I beg of you, come home. I'll help sort things out with Red and with the King. You can go back to Roxanne. It's not too late!" said Goofy.
Max pulled out his sword. "I will never go home with you. You cuddled me too much. I needed to leave and learn what's out there Dad. Now that I know I can be strong and powerful, I can use my new power to take over the worlds and I'll be the one rising to the top." said Max.
Goofy shook his head. "Son, I did NOT want to do this. Your escape from tomorrow is only going to lead you to heartbreak." said Goofy.
"ENOUGH WITH THE HEARTS!" cried Max as he ran towards Goofy, ready to hurt him with his sword. Goofy quickly defended himself with his shield and pushed Max away.
"Don't do this. I beg of you." said Goofy.
"You beg of me? Now you sound like you are in some play! Wake up Dad! This is not a world of innocence anymore!" cried Max.
Goofy shook his head sadly and used his shield to fight off Max. The angry teenager leaped into the air, trying to hurt Goofy, but he defended himself with his shield. He didn't allow Max to hurt him.
Meanwhile, the fight upstairs was still going on. Jafar's snake was still on a rampage and the Heartless were growing in numbers. Maleficent cackled as she kept summoning them, while fighting Riku at the same time.
"You're getting weaker boy! Weaker by the minute!" cried Maleficent.
Riku didn't answer. He had enough of this woman. While he fought, Namine and their daughter Emily arrived to help Riku out. Emily used her own Keyblade to hit Maleficent on the side. Namine then summoned a small orb of light that managed to explode upon touching Maleficent. The witch did not see that coming. She used her want to quickly open a dark corridor and ran through.
"There will always be another day! I WILL RULE SOMEDAY! YOU'LL SEE! YOU'LL SEE!" cried Maleficent as she went through.
"Blast. We almost had her. If it weren't for her staff, she would have been destroyed for good." said Riku aloud.
"Don't worry about her dear. We've still got to save everyone from the snake." said Namine.
Emily turned around and pointed her Keyblade at the snake. "Once we deal with this guy, we'll come up with something else."
Sky punched the snake's ribs while Axel fired away with his pistols. Summer used her Keyblade to blow orbs of light while Donald and Mickey used their magic to weaken the snake.
During the fight, Sora and Kairi summoned their angel wings and together, they danced in the battle field, destroying the Heartless on the arena.
Pete and PJ helped take some down and then out of nowhere, a light corridor appeared. Red and Roxanne came through, along with Hewey, Dewey and Louie, using magic wands.
"The cavalry has arrived!" cried Dewey.
"You didn't think we'd miss out on the final battle huh?" asked Louie.
"You guys!" cried Donald in shock.
"We just had to come!" cried Hewey.
"How's your wound?" asked PJ to Red.
"I've healed a little, but it still stings. However, I can still fight." said Red.
Roxanne grabbed her sword and charged right ahead against the Heartless.
As they all fought, Donald quickly went to Red. "Check up on your Dad. He chased Max down in the dungeons!" cried Donald.
Red nodded and ran as fast as he could. Roxanne quickly followed him. Sky noticed them running by themselves to the dungeons and quickly went to chase right after them. Vanitas saw this and followed Sky as well.
Sora noticed all this happen, but he knew that he could trust Sky and Vanitas. Somehow, he trusted them both.
Meanwhile, back downstairs, Goofy and Max were still fighting. Max was not giving up. He kept swinging his sword like a mad man, but Goofy's shield blocked all his attacks.
"You're going to get tired eventually," said Goofy.
"Not if I can help it!" cried Max, spitting on the floor.
"My heart is breaking right now Maxxie. Please, come back home." said Goofy.
Max spat again, this time on Goofy's shield. Just then, Red appeared and pushed Max by doing an Aero spell.
"Keep away from Dad you loser!" cried Red.
Max got up and saw Red stand his ground. "This is the rematch I've been waiting for," said Red.
"Fine. Come and get me." sneered Max.
