Limit: Part Eleven: Heartbreak
Sky arrived by Goofy's side as Red and Max began to fight.
"Uncle!" cried Sky.
"Sky! Thank goodness you're safe! Get out of here!" cried Goofy.
"And hide? No way Uncle! I'll help you!" cried Sky. Vanitas followed behind and Goofy was surprised.
"You're here too?" he asked.
"Yes. I'm here for Sky's sake." said Vanitas.
Goofy looked at Sky with confusion, but shrugged. "If he's on our side, then welcome to the group!" he said aloud.
Just then, Red was pushed back against a wall. Max used his hands to pull a force of darkness that was very powerful.
"What the…" Max was saying. Behind him stood Jafar. Yes, Jafar! He never died! It was him, in the flesh standing behind the unfortunate Max.
"You are my puppet now and forever Max! Now destroy the Guardians of Light! Vanitas included, the foolish traitor!" cried Jafar.
Goofy threw his sheild at Jafar's face and it slammed him good. Jafar stupidly fell backwards and fell right on his back. Jafar let out an unearthly scream and Max was frozen in place.
"Gwarsh, I didn't mean to hit him that hard." said Goofy.
"My back! No!" cried Jafar.
"Talk about a stupid way to end someone." said Vanitas.
"How did you escape Axel's bullets?" asked Sky.
"Fool! Mere bullets can't hurt me! I'm the all powerful ruler of Agrabah!" cried Jafar, struggling to get up.
Max on the other hand couldn't move at all. He tried to move, but Jafar's grasp was somehow way too strong. Jafar let out a laugh as he cracked his back. "Finally! Better than ever!" he exclaimed. Just then, a dark corridor opened and Maleficent stepped through.
"Jafar! We need to get out of here! The snake is going to perish!" she exclaimed.
"Ha! Foolish woman!" cried Jafar.
"Did you not hear me, you fool?!" cried Maleficent.
"Your concern is touching but hardly necessary you old hag! I'll overpower you one day! Just you wait!" cried Jafar.
"Of course. Fine. Then I shall leave you. You will be punished severely for this treachery." said Maleficent as she stepped back into the portal. Jafar stood there laughing, until Sky ran up to him and punched him in the stomach. Max also felt the pain and Red stood before him, with his sword up to his neck.
"No Red! He needs to be locked away!" cried Goofy.
"Dad! He tried to kill you!" cried Red.
Roxanne suddenly appeared and nodded at Red. "It's okay Red. Let him pay for his crimes." said Roxanne.
Jafar stood up angrily and towered over Sky. "You dare punch the almighty Jafar you measly little bug eyed brat!?" cried Jafar. He then grabbed Sky by his shirt and with immense strength due to his evil magic, he held Sky in the air. Vanitas quickly sees this and arrives at Jafar's feet.
"Let him go." he said threateningly, with his Keyblade at Jafar's neck.
Jafar's eyes widened and he smiled wickedly. "You care for this boy? A creature of pure darkness actually cares for this little creature of light? How comical! This is like a wolf taking care of a sheep! You are a disgrace to darkness." said Jafar.
Vanitas then hit Jafar with his Keyblade and Sky fell. Jafar's eyes then went red and with a powerful force of his magic, he grabbed Sky by the neck, without even touching him.
And with a firm grasp of his hands, he squeezed tightly. Sky's eyes widened in panic and fell unconscious.
"SKY!" cried Vanitas.
Jafar stood up and laughed as Vanitas went over to help Sky. He tried to press his chest, but nothing happened. He then put his head on his chest, in hopes of hearing a single heartbeat.
No. There was no heartbeat.
Red, Roxanne and Goofy's mouths dropped in shock as Max turned around to see what was going on. Vanitas held Sky in his arms. He looked like a sleeping doll, lifeless and very still.
Vanitas then let out a roar of anguish. It was so unearthly that Jafar covered his ears.
Up on the battlefield, the Snake fell, due to the damage it's been done and the scream blasted it's senses.
Sora and Kairi felt something was definitely not right and they hurried to the source of the scream along with Riku, Mickey, Donald, Hewey, Dewey, Louie, Roxas, Xion, Namine and Emily.
Jafar tried to strike Vanitas, but he grabbed the old wizard's hand. "You monster!" cried Vanitas. He gently put Sky down with his arm and he summoned his Keyblade. With all the force he had, he then shoved the Keyblade straight to Jafar's stomach. Jafar's eyes widened and Vanitas pushed him off from the platform they were on. Max also fell and Red quickly put him in handcuffs.
Vanitas ran to Sky and held him.
"Sky…. wake up. We won. We won the fight." whispered Vanitas.
Sky didn't respond. Just then, Summer and Axel appeared and they were stunned to see their beloved friend there, lifeless.
Sora then appeared with Kairi. Vanitas looked up, now knowing what to tell them. Instead, to his surprise, Sora and Kairi knelt down and they placed their hands on Sky's head.
They both whispered words of love and Kairi smiled. "His heart… he's still alive." she said.
"What? Explain this to me." said Vanitas, shaking his head in disbelief.
"His heart was fractured. But there is a way to wake him up. True love's kiss." said Sora.
"What?" cried Vanitas.
"It's the only way." said Kairi.
The parents both kissed Sky on both sides of his cheeks and his face was glowing. But he was not waking up.
"What's wrong? Why is he not waking up?" asked Vanitas, in panic.
"Don't worry. He will wake up. But… it may take a while." said Sora.
"HOW!" demanded Vanitas.
Just then, Jafar himself stood up and pulled the Keyblade from his stomach. He looked at Sky and shook his head. "His heart protected him from my magic. Your brat's heart shielded him and now he will be in a coma." said Jafar.
"You maniac!" cried Vanitas. Sora stood up and gave Jafar a punch on the face.
Jafar fell and Roxanne quickly put him in handcuffs. "How did you survive this graphic death?" she asked.
"Young lady, I'm secretly a genie! I can survive anything." said Jafar.
"Where's your lamp?" asked Red.
"Maleficent has it." replied Jafar. Just then, a chilling realization came to him and all of a sudden, his body vanished in a puff of smoke.
"Well, looks like he's not so powerful after all." said Roxanne.
"But he was powerful enough to hurt Sky." said Red.
"Don't worry friends! His heart is alive. But to wake him up, we all need to show him our love." said Sora.
"How?" asked Vanitas.
Sora smiled at him and held his shoulder.
"We all are Guardians of Light. If we all use our powers, we will wake Sky up." said Sora.
"But I'm not a guardian," said Vanitas.
"You are now," said Riku, who walked up to him.
"Your determination to keep Sky safe was admirable. If you love Sky with all your heart, he will awaken." continued Riku.
"But I can't! I'm not even his family!" cried Vanitas.
"You are. Just as I am to Sora." said Goofy.
"Plus, you love our son. Your love for him is very warm and safe." said Kairi.
Sora placed a hand on Vanitas's shoulder. "You once called me brother. Or maybe it was to Ventus, I don't know, but you called me brother once. As my brother, I ask you to help to us." said Sora.
Vanitas closed his eyes and exhaled. "I'll do my best." he whispered.
