Limit: Part Twelve: Real or Not
Six weeks have passed since the battle at the Forbidden Mountain. Six weeks of closure for all parties involved. Axel reunited with his family. Roxas and Xion, his beloved parents. They hugged him tenderly on that dark day, and they promised to stay by his side, protecting him from the darkness. Summer on the other hand was waiting for Sky to wake up. There were kisses to wake him, but as Sora predicted, his heart was fractured. This meant that not even the most powerful kiss would wake him.
During those six weeks, everyone was discussing how to wake Sky from his slumber.
"Think everyone! What haven't we tried yet?" asked Riku.
"We know his heart is somewhere. But we are unable to find it." said Kairi, as she was held by Sora's hands.
"True Love's kiss did not work. I don't understand." said Sora.
"Gwarsh, we all kissed him. We even blew him kisses!" said Goofy.
"But nothing is more powerful than love!" cried Donald.
"I don't believe that. I refuse to believe that." said Emily. Namine held her shoulder, trying to calm her down.
"My dear Emily, love comes in many forms." said Riku.
"You all sound as if you lost your faith in love," said Emily.
"That's not it! It's just that our power isn't working. Something is keeping Sky from waking up!" cried Summer.
"Then what could it be?" asked Red.
"If his heart is fractured, is there a way to heal his heart?" asked Roxanne.
"Bull!" cried Vanitas, who was with them in the same room. "I saw Jafar grab him with that terrible red power of his! Jafar did something! Why don't we ask that freak!" said Vanitas.
"That would be easy if Maleficent didn't put him back in the lamp." said Riku.
"What does Yen Sid say about all this?" asked Axel.
"Mind your manners son." whispered Roxas to Axel's ear.
"But Dad, why isn't the master here?" asked Axel.
"You're right! What does the master say?" asked Xion.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. Riku called for whoever was on the other side and in came King Mickey. And behind him were two other Keyblade Wielders. Two legendary warriors who hail from different worlds.
"Sorry we're late. And… (munch munch munch) What's up Docs?"
Bugs Bunny, the wielder of the Space Carrot Keyblade, said as he munched on his carrot snack.
The other wielder was Kermit the Frog, holding the Rainbow Connection Keyblade, bowing his head.
"We're very sorry everyone. But we have exciting news to share with you all. And on top of that, we know what happened to Sky's heart." said Kermit.
"We should explain it as simply as we can." said Mickey.
"Please tell us." said Vanitas.
Bugs was the first to speak. "Sky's heart protected him from Jafar's magic. That we know for sure. And his heart went someplace safe. Similarly to what happened to Master Ventus. I'm up to speed." said Bugs.
"Sky's heart went inside the heart of another. A heart that is very warm and safe." said Kermit.
"But the problem here is that Sky's heart is nowhere to be found in any of us in this room. Not even his family." said Mickey.
Everyone in the room murmured. "How come we didn't think of that?" asked Roxas.
"We all lived it. Did we forget somehow?" asked Riku.
"Then why isn't his heart in any one of his parents? He loved them so much! This is not right." said Vanitas.
Sora walked up to Vanitas and held his shoulder. "Venuts found my heart when I was little. It's possible his heart is inside someone special." said Sora.
"Why isn't it any one of us? Vanitas makes a good point!" cried Summer.
Kermit walked by Summer and smiled sweetly at her. "Sweet heart, you should know by now, as a Keyblade Master. Our hearts are connected. One way or another, it will always find close friends or family to be with." said Kermit.
"This doesn't make sense. I'm angry that his heart didn't find shelter in any one of our hearts." said Summer.
"I know you're hurt. That is what the heart does. It can sometimes lead us all to heartbreak. So is life." said Kermit.
"There are hearts all over the world. Our hearts brought the worlds to life. And our hearts brought us all together, one way or another. We get separated, but we always return home." said Sora.
"They can take your world. They can take your heart." said Kairi.
"Cut you loose from all you know." said Roxas.
"And if it's your fate…" said Xion.
"Then every step forward…." said Namine.
Then everyone spoke in unison, except for Vanitas. "Will always be a step closer to home."
"What does this all mean?" asked Vanitas.
"It means we need to have faith and hope. We will find Sky's heart. We will wake him up." said Sora.
Kairi smiled and hugged Sora tightly. Vanitas stood there thinking and wondered how much Sky would endure in sleep.
Vanitas walked in the hallway of the castle. It was strange that everyone now trusted him. It seemed that one way or another he won them all over. As he walked down the hallowed hallways of Radiant Garden's castle, he saw from another hall Sora and Kairi hugging. And they were both crying out tears. Vanitas hid, but overheard their conversation.
"If I had arrived much sooner, he would not have fallen into this coma." said Sora.
"We did what we could to protect him from the outside world. I know all of this is so unfair and we are tired of the battles. But Sora, I know our son will come back. He will awaken very soon. Like you said, one way or another, we always return home. I came back to you. Then you came back to me. Sky will do the same." said Kairi.
Vanitas had enough. He walked towards them in anguish.
"Please, what can I do to help?! I can't stand this! It's my fault Sky's in that stupid coma!" cried Vanitas.
"Oh no! Vanitas, this is not your fault." said Kairi.
"In a battle against the darkness, you have to expect the unexpected. Now we have to heal from it. And work to heal the hurt that has been left behind." said Sora.
"I swear to you both! I will wake your son. He will return home to you both. I'll move heaven and earth to find him." said Vanitas.
Kairi gave him a kiss on the cheek and Sora hugged him tightly. "Thank you." he whispered in his ear.
