So...Hi. I'm back. =D
Silverex growled in frustration as his biotics flared over his plated arm. Javik thankfully did not toss him and the other Turian out of the airlock, but this was just as bad.
"You will settle this like men. You will fight to the death!" Javik says as he paced back and forth in front of the bubbled Garrus and the very angry looking Rex. Liara's voice piped up softly behind Javik, "Aranel is not going to like that Javik. How about just have them spar while Ara's talking to Garrus' bond mate?" Her gaze slides towards Javik and then towards Garrus, "You've overstepped Vakarian. Her gaze then slides to Rex and she shook her head. "And you, you should know better."
"That is a fine compromise then," Javik dropped the biotic bubble that surrounded Garrus. As it dropped Rex shook his head and ran a hand over his fringe. "He's not worth it, Aranel is but him…" He cants his head towards Garrus with a look of distaste before he walks away to the Forward Battery.
There was no swagger in his steps, as he gathered his dropped armor and under armour suit. His subharmonics clamped tightly down as the door whooshed open and then closed.
Garrus moved to sit down running a hand over his face and his fringe. Liara, seeing this, gestured to everyone else that had come to watch the show to leave. "Get back to work, now." She sits down next to Garrus and puts a comforting hand on his shoulder. "You are making this harder on her and your bondmate Garrus. You have to accept that you left her, and moved on." She gestures towards the Forward Battery where Rex had disappeared too. "He isn't your problem either, and you need to understand that. Like I did."
Garrus shifted and looked at Liara, "What do you mean?" He says softly, staring at the Asari woman next to him.
"Come now Garrus, do you remember when I first arrived in Normandy? After Shepard rescued me? I was so painfully in love with her. My fumbled attempts at flirting?" Garrus shook his head at her words. "I never noticed, I was…" She gave him a sad smile. "You were busy trying to sort out your own feelings for her, or well buried deep in the Mako fixing it every time she broke it."
Garrus looked down at his clasped hands. "She was in love with Kaiden," He gave a half smile. "That I do remember." He shook his head and sighed, subharmonics trilling sadly. "The way the two moved was like watching two dancers move. She would charge ahead, and he would be right behind her."
"And then he died." Liara said softly, "And I attempted to make my move thinking I could offer her some comfort but she rejected me." She grabbed Garrus hand and traced a finger over a claw. "She turned to you for comfort, and it killed me inside. But," She says, pulling away and leaning back. "I did not act out on my jealousies. "I accepted that she never saw me in that way and I moved on." She bumped him lightly with her shoulder. "And you have to as well," Her voice was soft as she shifted her attention towards the Forward Battery. "She needs her own happiness, and it is something you can't give her anymore."
Garrus looked in the direction of the Forward Battery. "You think he'll be able to? That playboy?" He said with some offense in his voice. Liara laughed and shook her head. "Oh him? He doesn't realize how much he's in love with her either. It's shockingly cute really." She nudged him again. "Reminded me of you, and how both you and Aranel's pitiful attempts at flirting." She smiled sadly still. "I regret not going with her when she came to Illium asking for my help. I was so wrapped in my own things. But I had no choice, the information I had was what…" She paused, eyes closed. "It doesn't matter anymore, it is in the past and this…" She gestures towards the door. "And him? It's her future now, not ours."
