It was a hot summer day, as both William and Julia woke up and got ready for the day. He headed to work, as she decided to take the children to the park.

As her and the children arrive, she saw Margaret sitting on a bench while Bobby played pirates with a friend.

"Want to play with Bobby, Mary and Daniel?"

"I want to pick flowers, mommy" Mary said

"I want to play with my teddy bear" Daniel said

"Ok, go on then" Julia said as she pushed the pram and sat down beside Margaret

"Julia, nice to see you"

"You as well. My goodness. Bobby has grown"

"Same with Mary and Daniel. My goodness he's the spitting image of his father"

"Oh, yes, definitely"

The women continued talking, when they heard a woman screaming asking for help. Margaret was on her feet and ran towards the woman, as Julia pushed the pram and saw the distraught young woman, who said a man snatched her purse.

Julia told her to report it immediately, so she would get her money back, and the young woman thanked them.

"How unfortunate thing to happen" Margaret said

"Yes, especially to a young woman. Its awful" Julia said as they saw Bobby's friend, "its not fair, why could Bobby, and her children go on an adventure and I couldn't"

"Adventure, what do you mean?" Julia asked

"A man took Bobby and your children on some adventure"

"What man?" Julia and Margaret said as they ran to where the children were playing

"Mary?! Daniel ?!"

"Bobby?!"

"Margaret, they have been taken. We need to inform William and Mr. Brackenreid"

Margaret nodded, "yes let's go"

"But, I want to drop off Susie off at Mrs. Kitchen"

Margaret nodded and on they went

They dropped off Susie first and headed to the station, "William, Inspector!"

"Detective, Thomas. There gone"

"Julia, calm down. Who's gone?"

"Bobby, Mary and Daniel"

"Ladies, sit down and tell us what happened"

They tell the William and the inspector what happened at the park, which led them to tears.

The ladies stay at the station, while the men headed to the park, "nothing, bloody nothing"

"Sir, it occurs…wait" William saw something in the bushes and grabs the item, "Daniel's teddy bear." He took a deep breath, "what was the motive for the abduction?"

"I don't know, but no clues around, besides the bear"

"Then, we must rely on what we know" William said as he turned to the bench

"Julia and Mrs. Brackenreid were sitting on the bench, then heard a woman screaming for help, they headed towards the woman and helped her. That's when the children were taken"

"So, this thief clips a passerby, ceasing a commotion…"

"Exactly, while one other man"

"Grabs the children…" inspector says

"Two crimes disguised as one…or at least a possibility"

"Excuse me, sirs" George said as he found a dirty doll

"That's, Mary's doll" William said

"Yes and I found this purse in the shrub, over there, sir."

"That must be the young woman's purse" William said

"Her name is Miss Evey Dewer, and informed constable Hoover on Carleton Street and gave her statement."

"I'll need her to look at some photographs, at the station house, George"

"Yes, sir" George said and left

"We'll need to talk to our wives again about what had happened" Inspector said

"Sir, I don't think that's wise to get the wives more upset" William said

"Murdoch, we'll just ask then too…"

"Sir, I don't want to upset Julia more"

"What is she with child?"

"Yes, sir. We just found out"

"Another one, Murdoch, bloody hell. Congratulations"

"Thanks, sir"

"We'll let them tell us when their ready, then"

"Agreed"

They talk with many suspects and realize that the abduction was planned, but they were after Bobby and not Mary and Daniel.

"If it was planned, then why take Mary and Daniel?"

"Maybe they were trying to save him, but they were snatched as well. But why Bobby and my children?"

Inspector shrugged as George came in, to inform them that Miss Dewer was on her way in, and left the office.

"What do you think, Murdoch?"

"An enemy from our past?"

"I agree, we both have made enemies." He said as he left the office and William follows him,

"Sir, I hate to say this but we must consider the possibility the children were kidnapped by a known…" he gulps, "pederasts"

"I wish there was a way to keep tabs on those bastards"

William nodded when he saw Julia and Margaret come in.

"If they touch one hair on our children…I swear…"

"Sir" and gave him a look

"William you think…our children were kidnapped by a pederast?" she said trying to hold back her tears

"Julia…please let me explain…Bobby's abduction was planned. But Mary and Daniel were trying to save him, but were taken as well"

"Our children were trying to save, Bobby?"

"It looks like it, doctor" inspector said

"Julia, I want to make sure Susie is safe"

"Don't worry, she is still at Mrs. Kitchen's and two constables are standing guard"

"Good"

Margaret began to fall apart, "its my fault. I should have told them to come with us"

"No, Margaret it was my fault. I'm a horrible mother"

"Julia, calm down. You're a wonderful mother"

Julia grabbed her stomach, "ouch…" and fainted

"Julia…" William said and grabbed her

"Murdoch, blood" inspector said as he pointed to the floor

"Is she with child?" Margaret asked

William nodded, "she needs to go to the hospital"

"I'll take her. You men, find our children"

As Margaret took Julia to the hospital, Miss Dewer looked over the suspects, "do you recognize any of these men?"

She shook her head, "I only caught a glimpse of him"

"Take your time"

She continues to look when she sees a photograph, "this is the man, I saw"

William and the inspector, bring the man, who's name was Mr. Carson and interviewed him.

Mr. Carson said one wrong thing, which angered both William and the inspector. William kept himself under control, while the inspector threw the man to the wall.

But William stopped him before anything bad happened and kept Carson in the interrogation room, while they continued to talk.

"I swear, if Carson was responsible for our children's kidnapping, I'll put the noose around his neck."

"I would too sir. Remember, my daughter and son were taken as well. But we need to remain calm and focus."

Inspector nodded when George approached them, "sir, message for you from Dr. Ogden"

William reads the message, "Murdoch?"

"Julia, lost the baby. I need to go and see her"

"Of, course, Murdoch, go on"

It was 2 days later, Julia stayed at the Brackenreid's, while in recovery, while Carson stayed in the cells, but they still had no clear evidence it was him.

It disgusted both William and the inspector, thinking a person like that kidnapping their children. Then they get a message to pay the kidnappers $10, 000 or they wouldn't see their children again.

But it was found out they didn't mean to kidnap Bobby, but meant to take Bobby's friend instead.

One night, William sat on Brackenreid's porch as Julia came outside to see him, "William"

"Julia, you should be resting"

"I'm feeling better…but I had a nightmare about the children" she said with tears, "I woke up and went to check Susie, who was sleeping"

"Come here" William said and held her, "I won't give up, until I find them"

The next day they got another letter and instructs them to drop off the money at a church.

Without hesitation, William and Julia, and the Brackenreid's drained their savings account and dropped the money off in a pew.

They waited until, but no one came until William notice a woman and her little girl wearing Mary's hat, "Mary?"

But it wasn't her, "oh, I'm sorry. But where did you get that hat?"

"What's this about?" asked the woman

"That is my daughter's hat. She, my son and my boss's son have been taken"

"My new friend, Mary, gave it to me" said the little girl

William got out his photographs, "was this Mary?"

"Sadie, is that the girl who met?" asked her mother

"Yes, that's her"

"Can you show us, where you saw her?"

Sadie and her mother led William, inspector and George to an old shack and found blankets, scraps of food, and Daniel's hat.

"The children are leaving breadcrumbs for us, Murdoch"

"Indeed, sir"

They headed back to the station, where Julia and Margaret were sitting down, "did you get them?"

"No, but we have clues and know, there alive"

Julia and Margaret felt relieved

They asked Sadie to look at photographs of suspects, but didn't recognize one, but described the one of the kidnappers was a woman and described her.

William grabs a photograph "was this her?" Which was a picture of Evey Dewer

"Yes, that's her"

An hour later William, Julia and the inspector were figuring out why Evey Dewer was a part of the kidnapping

"She was apart of the abduction, why?" Julia asked

"I don't know, but we know the purse snatching was a set up!"

"Sirs, we have an address, but I found out more about Evey Dewer, or her actual name Molly Morgan. She spent 7 years in prison, but was with child before going to jail. The child was Bobby's friend"

"So, she was mistaken. Thinking Bobby was her long lost child." Julia said

"Do, we have an address?" William asked

"Well, her boarding house is cleared out. But we found her brother's address" George says and gives it to William and he looks at it, "this is only 20 minutes away from where Sadie saw them."

"Murdoch, let's get our children."

"Yes, let's"

They head to find a cabin and see Mr. Morgan, and put a napkin in his mouth, "are the children in there?" William asked

Mr. Morgan nodded, and George takes him away as William and Inspector, see Bobby, Mary and Daniel.

Mary sees William, "daddy" but is grabbed by Molly, "no, your not going anywhere" she said as she holds onto all the children

"Miss Morgan, we know your story. Bobby isn't your son. You have the wrong boy. Inspector said

"Also, Mary and Daniel aren't your niece or nephew." William said

"No, you're lying"

Mary begs to be let go, "please this isn't helping you. Please let me go"

Molly lets them all go as Bobby runs into inspector's arms, as Mary and Daniel run into William's arms.

They got back to the station and they saw Julia, "mommy"

Julia grabs them, "Mary, Daniel" and hugs them

"Mommy, why are you crying?" Daniel asked

"I'm is just so happy, your safe and alive" she said as she smiled to William

That night, William and Julia went back to their house to the children, but had the children sleep in their bed for the night, as Julia asked, "so, Miss Morgan was Bobby's friend's biological mother?"

"Yes, and thought our children were her late sister's children."

"What's going to happen to her?"

"Back to jail, for now"

Julia looks at the children, "what she did was wrong, but I hope she learns what she did and gets a 2nd chance at motherhood."

"I agree"

They kiss goodnight and fall asleep.
