A couple of days later, Julia had heard the circus was in town and intended to get tickets for the family. But, they got a call, that the main attraction in the circus, a tiger killed its trainer and got loose and was running in the streets.

William told Mrs. Kitchen to keep the children in the house until the tiger was caught. As the case was going on, William was stumped, until George told him about the gypsy, fortune-teller, Lady Minerva. But, William didn't believe in such nonsense, but went ahead and interviewed her anyway.

As, he was beginning to interview her, she laid down the cards, "I only know what the cards tell me." She said and flipped one as William rolled his eyes, "you have a great deal of knowledge and you take pride in this."

She flipped another card, "you take comfort in logic" and flipped another one, "except, when it conflicts with your religious beliefs."

William still didn't believe, until as he said, "I'm familiar with this parlour game"

But she ignores him, and flips another card, "you love a woman"

Flips another card, "she's your match in every way"

William smiled, as she flipped another one, "you are married to this woman and have children"

"Ok, that's enough, I'm not here to have my fortune told, Lady Minerva. I just want to know what happened today?"

"Again, I only know what the cards tell me" she said

A day later, the case was finished, but William had to tell, Julia about the fortune-teller,

"William, the cards were right"

"But, I still don't believe in them…"

"Well, I got a reading from her, but the last card was strange"

"Strange, how?"

"Well, she said it looks like you will be preparing for another occupation, but somewhere away"

"Oh, what did you say?"

"I told her, I am happy here, I love you and love being a mother to our children"

He grabs her and holds her, "there just cards"

Julia nodded and gave him a kiss, "but, William you said Ivy, did what she did for what?"

"Oh, she was talking of how she got into the circus, that she did what she did to be with the love of her life, and asked me if I would do the same"

"And would you?"

He gives her a kiss, "in a heartbeat"
