'So, basically, you have to promise me one thing.'

Bubbles waited anxiously for Taylor's reply, twirling a blonde strand of her hair around her index finger. It's not everyday she managed to convince one of the most popular girls in school to invite her red headed sister to a house party. Taylor's parents were gone a lot, so naturally she could throw the wildest parties without anyone complaining. She flicked her long dark ponytail dramatically to the other side as she bore into Bubbles' blue eyes.

'Anything.' Bubbles whispered under her breath, awaiting the verdict.

'Ok, so, she can come IF she doesn't make a big deal about the boys being there.'

Bubbles' face fell, trying to picture Blossom's reaction to seeing the boys in the same room as them.

'...well?' Taylor casually asked inspecting her fresh manicure.

'I promise she's not gonna make any scene.' Bubbled replied sweetly before Taylor could sense any doubt in her voice.

'Good. Cause I'm already doing you a huge favor.'

'Yes, I know, thank you so much! I'm gonna make it up to you.' Bubbles almost squealed with joy.

'You better, bish! You always said you'd help me meet Kylie Jenner.'

'Taylor...We only met once...I'm not sure I coul..'

'Yes, but you're America's sweetheart. She wouldn't refuse you.' Taylor promptly interrupted her.

'Ok, I'll try my best.'

Taylor gave her friend a sideways glance accompanied by a subtle smile.

'You're so sweet, Bubbles. You're so different from your sisters.'

Bubbles preferred not to press on the subject, she'd rather not hear her popular friends once again trashing her sisters for being terminally uncool.

But Taylor continued, and if she didn't know any better she'd think she was trying to get a rise out of her.

'Seriously, Blossom thinks she's so much better than all of us. I'm not even sure why, I mean...I'm wanna get into a good college, too , but you don't see me constantly yapping about it.'

'Um... she might seem like that, but she's pretty cool if you get to know her.'

'You have to say that cause she's your sister.' Taylor said, now carefully examining her toes, trying to decide on a nail polish color. 'I don't mean to throw any shade, but she could seriously check her attitude, you know?'

Bubbles once again refrained from replying.

'For example, do you know that new girl Layla?'

Bubbles nodded in response.

'She's a brain, too, but she's pretty cool. I wanna invite her to the party, too. I'm pretty sure she won't rat on us for drinking and stuff.'

'Blossom won't, either.'

'Um, need I remind you about Aidan's birthday party?'

Taylor's deep voice changed to a high pitch as she mimicked Blossom: 'Hello, professor? I'm calling to tell you that THERE IS ALCOHOL at this party.'

Bubbles couldn't supress a giggle. Aidan's party 4 years ago was the moment when Blossom commited social suicide.

'She's changed, it's going to be fine.'

'Why do you want her to come so badly tho? You've never asked me before.'

Bubbles hesitated before answering:

'I just want her to have a bit of fun in highschool, you know? She never, ever unwinds...I think it would do her good.'

'You know what? You're right. I'd give anything to see a goody-two-shoes like her wasted as fuck.'

'Wasted? ...I was thinking a little drunk.'

'Don't be so vanilla, Bubbles. If we're doing this, we're doing this right. As long as she doesn't ruin my party.' Taylor retorted as she applied a thin coat of purple nail polish on her toes.

'I'm saying this again. She can't scare the boys away.'

'Roger that. During the party they're simple civilians.'

Taylor nodded before giving Bubbles a coy smile:

'I think I'm finally going for the big prize this weekend.'

'You know how I feel about this...' Bubbles mumbled under her breath.

'I know, I know, but I can't help myself. You know I've liked him forever.'

'I mean, I guess I can't stop you..' Bubbles sighed, looking in Taylor's vanity drawer for a color to paint her own toenails.

'Hey, I can't find that pretty holo aqua I like. Where is it?'

'Oh, Mia asked if she could borrow it, but I have a pretty duo-chrome I got last week. Haven't used it now cause it won't go with the dress I'm gonna wear, but you should def try it.'

'Nice, I love duo-chromes!'

'I know you well, sweetie.'

'Anyway, I was saying...About Brick...this weekend...He's not getting away this time.'

Bubbles couldn't help but inwardly cringe, it was maybe Taylor's sixth attempt (that she knew of), but she didn't manage to make an impression on the red ruff. It was hard to tell her friend that maybe...he's just not into her.

'Umm..are you sure? Don't you think his brothers will get jealous? I mean you hooked up with both of them...?'

'No, I didn't, who told you that?' Taylor seemed genuinely offended.

'...You?'

'Ugh, so... I made out a bit with Butch one time when we were both SO drunk. I nearly forgot, Jenny told me the next day. But nothing more than that.'

'And Boomer...' Taylor threw a glance at her followed by a knowing smile.

'I'd never do that to you, Bubbles.'

Bubbles instantly turned red, she felt the heat emanating from her cheeks.

' What do you mean?'

'Don't play dumb, I know you've got a lil weird thing going on there.' she said complicitly.

'What thing? There is no thing.' Bubbles blushed, trying to keep a straight face.

'Bitch, I'm not dumb. I haven't done anything with him.'

'You told me you kissed at Amber's party...'

'Oh, that? That was nothing. A friendly tongueless kiss. Doesn't count as one.'

'Oh...You didn't mention that..'

'Come on, Bubbles! I didn't realise you had a thing going on with him! I wanted to brag about kissing a Rowdyruff! Gosh, you can be so dense sometimes.'

'I told you, there's no thing.'

'Sure, Bubbles, whatever you say.'

Bubbles felt frustration creeping in, she didn't like it when Taylor probed her like this. Especially concerning him. She definitely wasn't ready to open that can of worms.

'Anyway, this party is gonna be so lit. Can't wait! '

Bubbles nodded, but suddenly she wasn't feeling as giddy as she was in the beginning of the spa night with one of her besties. Blossom would be there, enjoying her first highschool party but now it really dawned on her that he would also be there. A few weeks had passed since 'the incident', and she hadn't seen him since then. She'd been avoiding the places where she knew he'd hang out, she was far too mortified to face him until now.

She started painting her toenails with Taylor's new polish. Bubbles agreed, it really was a pretty duo-chrome, shifting between pink and blue.

She then decided that no matter the outcome ,the least she could do was look fantastic at that damned party.
