It was dark, still in the morning. The clock in the library clock tower read 4:00am. Jacobi made his way toward Mr. Gold's pawn shop he could smell the dark magic that surrounded it but it was also weak magic, magic not of his realm. He took out his wand and quickly and easily he took down the protection charm, unlocked the door and made his way in. His eye's set on the safe as he walked up to it.

He finally approached the safe.

"Alohomora"

Jacobi whispered as he pointed the wand at the safe. He smiled as he heard the familiar clicking sound. He opened the safe and there he found the objects he was looking for, the most powerful objects in both this realm and the magical realm of which Rumple Stiltskin came from. He smiled as he took both, pocketed them, closed the safe and removed any trace of him being there. He closed and locked the door behind him, replacing the spell that Stiltskin had set in place. He made his way home and hid both the wand and his eye. He looked at Ghost who was sitting right next to him.

"It's good tae see ye boy."

Ghost waged his tail and licked his hand, he had gotten his memory back as soon as Jacobi brought him home. The all white German Sheppard began to whine as he searched for his other owner.

"She's no here….But ah ken who she is. Don't worry, we'll have her back soon."

Ghost just tilted his head from side to side not quite understanding what Jacobi was trying to tell him. Jacobi sighed and went to sleep.

Many years ago….

Alastor was jolted away by a banging noise that came from his front door. He quickly rose from his arm chair, answered the door with his wand in his hand. He had been living in a house in muggle London for some time now.

"Who are ye and what the bloody hell do ye want?!"

He yelled making the man jump slightly, a strange looking man. He was short, wore a red hat, half moon glasses and had a white beard.

"A-are you the one they call "mad eye" Moody?"

Alastor glared at the dwarf and sensed no dark magic upon him.

"Aye, ah ah'm. Who's asking?"

The dwarf said nothing and just handed Alastor a scroll. Alastor roughly took the scroll from the man and read it. One eye on the scroll and the other on the dwarf. Alastor nodded.

"Aye, ah'll do it."

He said as he closed the door on the dwarfs face making him jumps yet again.

"Uh ummmm….M-Mr. Moody? We're expected at the castle tonight…."

Said Doc through he closed door.

"Mr. Moody? Mr…Mr. Moody?"

"Then why are ye just standing there yellin at my door?"

Asked Alastor who had apperated and was now standing behind Doc making him jump and shout.

"O-Oh right…Yes…Let's go."

And with that they left. They entered a wooded area and Doc began to look around frantically.

"Where is it? No no no no it can't be gone. It was right here!"

"What is it?"

"The portal! It's gone!"

"Ye lost the portal…?"

Asked Alastor slightly mocking the dwarf.

"Yes. And I don't have any more fairy dust! It was supposed to stay open for 24 hours. Oooh no…This is not good. Not good at all….."

"For Gods sake…Keep the heid. Take my arm."

Doc just stared at him a bit scared of the taller man and slowly grabbed his arm and they both apperated to the woods just next to the Royal Castle. Doc stood for a moment swaying slightly and then ran for the nearest bush and vomited.

"Ye alright there?"

"Ughhhhh…"

"Right, lets move on."

Said Alastor, not giving poor Doc any time to recover from the quick movement. They made it to the front door of the castle and knocked. A guard opened the door and let them in.

"Alastor Moody. It's been a long time."

Alastor stared at the young man.

"Do ah ken ye?"

"Well you should, all through I was only this high when we last met."

He said placing his hand at his waist. Alastor stared at him for a moment and then his eye widened in shock.

"Charming?! Bloody hell lad! Ye've grown!"

Charming laughed and patted the shoulder of his old family friend.

"It's good to see you too Alastor."

The greeted each other and talked a bit and then got down to business. They sat at a round table in a room with Charming, his father the king, and a few knights.

"Who exactly are we dealing with?"

Asked Alastor interrupting one of the knights.

"It's not a who, more of a what."

Stated the knight Alastor interrupted.

"Alright, what is it that we are dealing with?"

"A creature most foul, he calls himself the dark one."

Alastor raised an eye brow.

"The Dark one? Ah was told that this was a man named Rumple Stilt-"

"Do not speak his name!"

Said the king, cutting Alastor off. He rolled his eyes. The Dark one, he who must not be named, you know who. Yes, he heard it all. He's seen it all and this did not impress him very much.

"His name is how he gets his power, his name is how he is summoned."

"Then why not summon him here? Why not be done with it then?"

"Because it isn't that easy. He knows when a trap is being set for him."

Stated a knight. He was right, Stiltskin wasn't an idiot.

"Alright. Where can ah find him?"

They all sat quietly, the king with his hands folded in his lap. Alastor looked about the room.

"So yer meanin tae tell me that none of ye ken where yer own enemy is?! Bloody hell!"

He shouted frustrated.

"There is one place you might find him. A small village just outside the kingdom, he lives in solitude spinning his golden yarn and making bargains."

Alastor smiled, they were finally getting down to it.

"Tell me where this village is."

Modern day…

Alastor sat on his front porch deep in thought as Ghost played about in the yard. His memories had come back to him, he knew who he was, he knew who Mr. Gold was, he knew who Harry was and who Ghost was and he knew who Elizabeth was. His Elizabeth, his wife. He knew where she was and what she was going through. But it wasn't Elizabeth.

Her name was Liv Smith, she lived with her boyfriend next door, she was a police officer. Her boyfriend, Ben Seal, or as others would have known him, Gaston, was a real piece of work. Abusive, mentally, emotionally and physically. He would hear them fighting, him yelling at her, glass breaking and her crying. He hated it, he hated doing nothing to help her. He wanted to run to her, hold her as she cried and kiss her tears away and heal her wounds.

He was startled out of his thought when the neighbors front door burst open with a bang and then screaming.

"No! Ben, please!"

"You dumb bitch! I told you! You're not going anywhere!"

A loud smack was heard and then followed by Liv rushing out the door only to have her hair grabbed by Ben.

"Ow! No no no please!"

"YOU'RE NOT FUCKING LEAVING ME!"

That was it, Alastor had enough of this, it hurt him too much to hear this happening to her. He grabbed his cane, stood up and made his way next door, with Ghost not far behind him.

"HEY!"

He yelled getting both Ben and Liv's attention. Liv had tears rolling down her face, this was enough of a distraction for Ben to loosen his grip on Liv's hair allowing her to get away and run towards Alastor.

"Go inside Liv, ah'll be there in a minute."

He said gently to her. She nodded and made her way inside.

"GET BACK HERE YOU DUMB BITCH!"

Shouted Ben as began to walk towards Alastor's house.

"One step closer and Ghost will have a new chew toy."

Ghost growled at Ben, teeth bear and fur standing on end.

"You think I'm afraid of you? You crazy old bastard."

Alastor chuckled and shook his head at the young man.

"No, ah think yer too stupid tae be scared."

He stepped closer to Ben, it was obvious that he was much taller than the younger man.

"Ah think yer stupid enough tae try something."

Ben looked up at Alastor, scared but hid it behind a wall of false bravery, his hands balled into fists and his chest heaving in anger.

"Go on lad, take a hit. If yer man enough to hit a woman yer man enough to hit me."

Ben slowly backed down and began to walk away, Alastor smirked.

"Aye, ah thought so. A coward. That's what ye are Benjamin, ye beat on women yer nothing but a coward."

Ben stopped and quickly turned around.

"Call me a fucking coward one more time!"

"Coward."

He simply stated. Ben quickly walked over to Alastor, balled his hand into a fist and punched him only for Alastor to catch his hand mid flight, he squeezed the younger man's fist hard.

"Ow! OW! Le-let go! You're hurting me!"

Cried Ben as he began to fall to his knees.

"Let ye go? But Ah thought ye were a big tough lad."

"Please….."

He begged tears rolling down his face. Alastor got down to his level and whispered in his ear.

"If ye ever approach that young woman again, ah will kill ye. And that's no a threat. Understand?"

Ben could only nod out of fear. Alastor pushed his fist away causing Ben to fall back, he quickly stood up and ran back into his house closing and locking the door behind him. Alastor shook his head and looked down at Ghost.

"Good job, let's go inside."

Ghost wagged his tail and barked once and went in, Alastor following close behind. He gently closed the door behind him and went to the living room to find Liv sitting in the corner of the couch hugging her knees, tears streaming down her face.

"Yer safe noo lass. He cannae hurt ye while yer here."

She nodded and softly sniffed as Alastor retrieved the first aid kit from his bathroom and an ice pack from the freezer in the kitchen.

"Thank you…"

She said softly, pressing the ice pack to her eye after her cuts were properly cleaned and bandaged. Alastor nodded and made some tea as they talked. She would be alright.
