At 4.30pm on the dot Gavin popped up over the fence.

"Don't look directly at me, just go on about your business and just listen" Gavin said.

I nodded and carried on watering my plants.

"I shouldn't be telling you this, and even the sight of me here will get me in deep shit. But Bobby was a good guy. It wasn't fair how he died and I had alot of respect for him. You deserve to know, maybe you can save yourself" he said.

I swallowed hard not even looking at him.

"This is only going to get worse. We are struggling to keep control of things. Its best if you escape with what you can" he said.

" but how will i survive without even knowing how to protect myself from the infected" I whispered.

"don't let them bite you and if you need to kill them, you need to damage their brain. Doesn't matter how, shoot, stab, stamp. Noise attracts them so becareful when shooting them, it will attract more" he said.

" how the hell am I supposed to get out of here without people knowing? And my car?"

"I can get the car out and leave it up the road some where, outside the road block" he replied.

"yes but how will I!" i asked.

"I'm on duty on the gates tomorrow night. I can smuggle you out."

"what about my sister and her family?" I asked.

"Its too risky for more people, I'm sorry" he replied.

"well you can forget it then, I'm not leaving without them"

" well that's your choice but this is your last and only chance. So take it or leave it. You will be dead not very long from now. If you stay anyway" he said with a sturn look.

" please just let me get them out" I begged.

"ok but I will have to get them out the night after and you will have to make sure they do exactly what I tell you" he sighed.

" and you will have to keep a low profile after you get out. I will tell you where to hide and i will direct your family to where you are" he added.

I nodded before he continued.

" I will drop a note explaining everything on my next round" he left without another word. I then proceeded back into the house.

I carried on my daily routine and after dinner I noticed something in my rose bush.

I went out and took it on the sly so no one could see it. As it was too late to have the electricity on I had to read it by candle light. I read the plan over and over so I knew exactly what to do down to every little last detail.

Gavin said he could only take my truck, and couldn't risk trying to take my sister's car as well. In the document he had placed a map directing us to a safe house and where my truck would be parked. I was to leave my key on the front wheel, and ensure I had packed it full of essentials, including weapons food and water.

During the night I did several trips between mine and Kayla's house with her essentials. I wasn't told exactly when my truck would be taken so I had to hurry to fill it.

I was to meet Gavin at the front gates the following night, technically early hours of the morning. I was told not to be earlier or any later than 1.30am. The following day my sister and one of the twins would leave at 12.15am then 45 mins later they would be followed by Jimmy and the other twin. They would all meet me at the safe house. In the document he advised us not to leave until sunrise once we were all together. There was also a very detailed play by play on how to kill the infected and how to keep as safe as possible.

He also added that shouldn't bother with Atlanta, as the city has been over running by the infected and so had the CDC. He also said that the highway was mostly blocked off with abandoned cars. After I was sure that i had memorized everything I gave the document to Kayla.
