Surf Club - Angelo's

"Oi Kyle, can I have a quick word?" Brax asks as he walks out from the office and over to the bar.

"I'll take our drinks over to the table." Blake says, picking them up before walking out onto the balcony.

"What's up?" Kyle asks.

"I know it's a touchy subject and I don't want to put a downer on your mood, but Rick mentioned seeing your mum around town. Is she the one in the corner glaring our way by any chance?" Brax asks, the woman standing up and walking out as Kyle turns to see who Brax was on about.

"Uh…" Kyle mutters, glancing at Brax before lightly nodding. "I'm not her biggest fan. I didn't even know she was still here, she hasn't been around for a fair few days now."

"Okay. I'll sort it out, don't worry okay?" Brax says, getting another small nod. "Just go hang out with Blake and forget I asked you about her. I'm going to make sure she skips town this time." He says.

"What if she doesn't leave?"

"She will. In better news, I've spoken to a mate of mine who now specialises as a lawyer. He said he can sort changing your date of birth, something about it being special circumstances. He's got a full diary for a couple weeks but is going to call me when he's got a space to discuss it with you." Brax explains.

"That's great, thanks for doing that." Kyle smiles.

"Mate, it's the least you deserve. Least you know you've got the option now and soon it'll be as if you were never separated from them." Brax says, smiling as Kyle walks away a lot happier.

"You seem cheerful after whatever that chat was about." Blake says as Kyle sits down opposite him.

"Turns out I can legally change my birthday so I can celebrate it the same day as Lucas and Tyler." Kyle smiles.

"Wait, so when would that mean you were born?" Blake asks.

"The 3rd of August." Kyle says. "I'm basically about three weeks older than I was made to believe but it doesn't matter anymore because I wouldn't have to feel left out from them even more."

"I doubt they would have made you feel left out either way. If you keep your current birthday, that means you can get away with celebrating twice." Blake smirks before taking a sip of his beer.

"How did I not think of that?" Kyle scoffs. "Anyway, it's been a while. Surely your boss hasn't been making you work that much?"

"He has. I don't even know what I did to deserve it. He always said I was his best employee, then suddenly decided I was unworthy of the credit for things I did for him." Blake says, rolling his eyes as he thought about everything he did for his boss.

"Your dating life must suck then." Kyle comments.

"Yep. Still can't seem to find the one for me. I guess I'm doomed in that sense as well."

"Lucas says the same." Kyle nods.

"Yeah, he told us about what his big secret was. I guess you'll be able to work out what guys find you hot as well now." Blake jokes.

"I never thought about it like that." Kyle frowns. "But Lucas did tell me he's got his eye on someone."

"If I pushed him hard enough, would he tell me?" Blake says, having got on with Lucas just as much as he did with Kyle.

"Yeah, I definitely think he would at some point but he still hasn't told me, I've just been guessing. It's a pretty big crush he has, I don't know how I never noticed it before. You haven't noticed anything?"

"No, is it someone I know?" Blake asks.

"You could say that." Kyle nods. "Anyway, what else have you been up to other than working to the bone?" He asks to change the conversation.

Summer Bay Beach

"Shelly Moore?" Brax asks as he approaches the triplets mum, wanting to make sure it was definitely her before doing anything.

"Who's asking?" She asks as she turns to face him.

"Darryl Braxton, or the eldest brother to your triplets." Brax says, noticing something dark between her eyes.

"My twins have never had older brothers. They're being ridiculous thinking they've got a family here." She spits.

"Why'd you do it?" Brax asks.

"Do what?"

"Abandon Kyle as a baby when you brought Lucas and Tyler up?"

"That has nothing to do with you." Shelly glares.

"When you made Tyler and Lucas think they were twins when they clearly weren't, and refusing to accept that you've got another son, yeah, it has something to do with me." Brax says. "You can either answer all the questions those boys have, or leave the Bay for good and stay out of their lives."

"Not happening." Shelly says, standing firm as Tyler runs over to them.

"I thought you had already left." Tyler says.

"Still here." She shrugs.

"What's your price?" Tyler asks.

"My price for what?"

"Leaving us alone for good." Tyler says, getting laughed at by her, so he takes the backpack off his shoulder. "We love it here, mum. We have a family that actually cares about us and you're ruining it! I've got a few grand here, take it and leave Summer Bay for good this time."

"Yeah, alright." Shelly nods.

"If I give you this money, you have to stick to it. I'm not playing games anymore, I want you gone." Tyler says.

"I said alright didn't I?" She huffs, taking the bag from him and looking inside. "I guess I'll leave then." She says, walking away.

"Guess you've changed after all." Brax says.

"I mean it, I really do love it here. I actually had my last sessions this morning." Tyler says. "I just hope she doesn't back out of that cause it's all the money I had leftover from the robbery."

"What'd you mean leftover?" Brax asks. "You mean you didn't give her all of it?"

"No, I kept a bit of it back. I thought you could use it to go towards the lawyer or whoever would change Kyle's date of birth." Tyler says. "Don't worry though, I've kept it hidden in a really safe place and the cops haven't been around, so they can't suspect me. I heard that the investigation was being closed because the police couldn't find any evidence. You don't need to worry, I'm not going to be stupid and spend it on loads of stuff. I want it to go towards good things."

"Are you sure you're Tyler?" Brax jokes, amazed at how different he was compared to the guy he first met.

"Yes! Things have just finally become really good between me, Lucas and Kyle. It feels different between us now, like we never grew up separately. We have this understanding that can't be explained, and it's so weird. I've always noticed it with Lucas since we were kids. But when I met Kyle, he was just a stranger, now it's like… I can't explain it, it just feels right being here with family."

"You know that sounds crazy?"

"Yeah, I know. But being a triplet is crazy. Some people in our town thought being a twin was superstitious and could never understand the connection we had. I would have loved to have seen their faces if they knew there were actually three of us." Tyler smirks.

"How is it superstitious?" Brax asks, not understanding that part.

"I don't know, we could never work it out. Mum said they were crazy people who had really old fashioned believes, like thinking witches were real and stupid stuff like that. Thinking back to it, I think they were just on drugs a lot of the time and that would explain a lot of things they believed in and did. But that's in the past for me now."

"There's just something about this town." Brax mutters, looking out over the ocean.

"Yeah, I've noticed something about this place. I think Lucas has as well, he's come out of his shell a lot, but then I think that's also because he's so close with Kyle now."

"You're okay with that though, aren't you? I've noticed that you don't hang around with them as much."

"I'm happy for them, Lucas finally has a brother he can be real with. I can't blame him for never being like that with me, I was never easy to open up to when we were younger. We're all getting closer now and we're talking about a lot more things that we didn't used to. He can finally be himself, I just hope he does find a guy that will give him everything he deserves." Tyler says, wanting the best for Lucas.

"You're not still mad he told Kyle first?" Brax asks

"It was hard finding out, but he explained to me why it was and it made sense. They understand each other, not even I understand the connection they have." Tyler lightly scoffs. "I'm fine with it, Kyle can handle conversations like that better. I've not been the best at my own relationships, let alone someone else's. Anyway, I've got a shift I need to get to, see you later." He says as they go their separate ways.
