Having Nat join the Eds was my intention from the start however I never intended for her to have an Ed name.
I believe giving her an Ed name was unnecessary because being part of a group comes from acceptance, not a name.
For example, Mulan is an official Disney Princess despite not meeting the requirement of the title by birth or marriage, by committing an act of heroism and saving China the Emperor declared her a princess and is part of the lineup.
Sandy is another example, although she is the only land mammal who lives under the sea, Spongebob and the rest of the sea creatures accept and love her for who she is.
Nat is the Mulan and Sandy of the Eds, although she is not referred to as an Ed by name, by title and the group as a whole she is an Ed and her inclusion bring uniqueness to the group and the Eds love and accept her for who she is and that's what truly matters.
