Braxton House
"Oi Tyler, come help me with these boxes!" Heath shouts through the house, his brother walking out moments later.
"You know I can't do heavy lifting after the surgery I just had." Tyler says. "I thought Casey was helping you?"
"He was but then Denny called and he made an excuse to leave." Heath says. "I'm not letting Bianca help because I don't want to meet my son before moving out and Brax is at the hospital with Kyle."
"What about Lucas?" Tyler asks, not having seen his triplet this morning.
"He ran out as soon as he saw me carrying boxes and then text me saying he was meeting Blake." Heath says. "That only leaves you, I'll just make sure the boxes aren't heavy."
"I'm not getting told off by Brax or ending up back in hospital next to Kyle, just because you can't be bothered to move your own things yourself. It's not even like you've got a lot to do anyway." Tyler says.
"Have you seen how much Bianca has?"
"Well it all fits in your room so it can't be that much." Tyler shrugs.
"It's still a lot. Plus we were buying things for our kid that we're storing in the flat." Heath says.
"Fine, I'll help you carry a few light things on one condition." Tyler says.
"Who do you think you are giving me conditions?" Heath folds his arms.
"Do you want help moving some stuff out?" Tyler asks.
"Fine. What's the condition?" Heath asks.
"You drive me to the hospital after to see our little bro. I told Kyle I would be checking in today and to drop a few more bits off for him." Tyler says.
"I guess I can do that, I'm on babysitting duties tonight anyway." Heath says.
"Babysitting duties?" Tyler frowns.
"Emily and Brax have spent the last few nights at the hospital now, so I said I'd do it tonight. Lucas mentioned something but I'm not sure if that meant he was staying as well." Heath says.
"Oh right. Okay that works fine then, as long as you make it clear to Brax that I wasn't moving any heavy boxes." Tyler says. "Let's get as much as we can done so we can finish before lunch." He says, walking towards Heath's room with him.
Northern Districts Hospital
"I can't believe Heath fell for it!" Kyle laughs after Lucas filled his brother in on what he did.
"I knew if he got me to help him, I'd never had gotten out of it. I had to do what anyone else would have done. I know Casey made an excuse to leave, which would have meant more work for me." Lucas grins. "And technically I didn't lie because I did meet up with Blake."
"Yeah, just not alone. You should have just told him we were coming here." Blake shakes his head with a smile.
"Well it's good to see you two happy." Kyle smiles.
"Yeah, we are." Blake nods. "I guess one good thing came out of it, your condition once I made my big coming out speech to everyone."
"Everyone being my family." Kyle says.
"Exactly!" Blake smirks. "I should be hailed a hero."
"For telling Lucas you want to be his boyfriend?" Brax scoffs.
"I never said that!" Blake quickly says.
"You wouldn't be my boyfriend?" Lucas lightly frowns, thinking he's misread the situation.
"No, I would at some point. I'm just new to this, I don't know what to do." Blake admits. "I'd love to be your boyfriend."
"You would?" Lucas asks.
"Yeah, course I would." Blake smiles, leaning in to kiss him.
"Get a room you two." Brax jokes, happy Lucas could finally be happy with a guy he loved and not need to feel ashamed, and he could tell Kyle felt the same.
"Nate might have a spare room somewhere you can use." Kyle smirks at the pair of them.
"Is this what I'm getting into being a part of your family?" Blake asks.
"Even worse once I'm out of here and fully recovered." Kyle grins.
"Well I'll try not to get you two mixed up." Blake smirks. "Wouldn't want to make Emily jealous would we?"
"I have always been the third wheel when hanging out with you two, what would change now?" Emily laughs. "I'll just hang out with Brax instead."
"You wish." Brax shakes his head.
"Well aren't you two the pair to watch out for now." Kyle smirks at his eldest brother, seeing how much it wound him up. "It's great to see how close you've both got now, who knew I'd be the reason behind it?"
"You think you're so funny, don't you?" Brax says as he stares at the couple.
"We like to think so." Emily nods, the door opening to the two other Braxton brothers.
"Oh, well isn't this a nice little catch up?" Heath stares at Lucas.
"Yeah, we've talked about a lot of things." Lucas nods with a smile.
"Well what else has been going on?" Heath asks.
"I had my first physio session earlier." Kyle says.
"Already?" Tyler frowns. "How'd it go."
"Waste of time, I couldn't stand up for long." Kyle lightly shrugs.
"The doc said that's normal after you were in a coma for weeks. Plus you've got a broken leg to deal with as well." Brax says. "I thought you did pretty well."
"Yeah, you were amazing in there." Emily smiles.
"Well you would say that because you two are all about 'staying positive' now." Kyle mutters.
"Blame yourself, that's the reason we all started it." Heath says. "And talking about being positive. Me and Bianca have been talking, and we'd like to get married pretty soon after our kid's born. Gives us a some time to plan it and make sure everything is in place."
"So another stag night in Brisbane?" Tyler asks.
"Nope, we've agreed we don't want a stag or hens night. Instead, we want a family get together because we'll obviously have our kid to look after. We're also going to have a baby friendly honeymoon so we can take our kid with us." Heath says.
"Is that what you really want?" Brax asks.
"Yep, things are different now." Heath nods.
"How long is it now until your son is due?" Emily asks.
"About 5 weeks now. We're going to start setting up the nursery before getting the rest of the house done." Heath grins, getting more excited as the due date got closer. "Being the best brother you all have, you could repay me by helping us decorate the house. Some parts need doing up a bit." He says with a smirk.
"What makes you think you're the best brother?" Lucas jokes, getting a firm whack on the head. "Ow!"
"We all know it's me 'ey boys?" Brax smirks as he leans back in his chair, none of them denying it which makes him happier, but Heath looked even angrier. "Come on mate, we all know you're a close fifth or sixth."
"There's only six of us." Heath glares. "So if I'm fifth, who would that make sixth?"
"Me." Tyler says.
"Ah Tyler, that's not true!" Lucas says. "None of us our the least favourite, how about we just say that? We'll agree that Brax is the best, Kyle is second and leave it at that."
"Well I won't complain at that." Kyle smiles.
"Alright, I'll agree to that." Heath nods. "Just don't tell Casey, he's already jealous that he's not Brax's favourite anymore."
"Since when?" Brax asks.
"He told me that he knows Kyle is your favourite now, but he said it didn't bother him as much as he thought it did. And this has been for a while, we were talking about it just before we found out about Kyle's accident." Lucas says, noticing Brax looked a little confused. "He's really fine with it, you don't need to worry about it because he was quite relieved about it."
"Why would he be relieved about it?" Brax asks.
"He said it was because you wouldn't focus on him as much now you've got Kyle to focus on, especially now his recovery is going to take a while." Lucas replies.
"I am right here and I don't need you reminding me of how long it's going to be." Kyle rolls his eyes.
"What's this about it being longer? I thought Nate said you were doing well?" Heath asks.
"Kyle's had a few forgetful moments but Nate said it will be normal for a while. The scans still show there's no serious brain damage we need to worry about." Brax says.
"When did all this happen?" Heath asks.
"He cut my physio short to do the scans, which I wasn't complaining about." Kyle says. "But stop talking about that now, I'm getting bored of these stupid injuries coming up in conversation all the time."
"Okay well we actually came here to give you and Emily a break." Heath says to Brax, who nods in understanding, saying goodbye to Kyle before leaving for the night.
