Hi everyone, thanks again for all the reviews :) Just to let you know that there's a time jump of a couple weeks in this chapter so the story would flow better.

Northern Districts Hospital

"Hey bro, how are you doing?" Heath asks as he walks in, sitting on the side of Kyle's bed.

"A lot better but apparently I'm not allowed to be discharged yet." Kyle says. "Haven't seen you for a while."

"Sorry about that mate, things have been pretty busy trying to get the house ready."

"Even too busy for a phone call or a text?" Kyle asks.

"I… Well I have no excuses for that." Heath mutters, glancing down in shame. "Where are the others?"

"Told them I wanted rest, so should go and catch up on whatever they've got to do in life." Kyle says. "Don't let me stop you."

"Kyle, I'm sorry for being a jerk. I won't make any excuses for it, I don't have any. I've got time now if you want to hang?" Heath asks, feeling guilty for not checking in.

"I'm pretty tired and it sounds like you've got more important things to be doing." Kyle says, turning his head away from Heath.

"Come on, don't be like that Kyle!" Heath sighs. "You're making out like I don't care about you!"

"I never said that." Kyle glares at him. "I just don't understand how you've been that busy that you couldn't send a quick text or whatever for what, nearly two weeks?"

"I guess I haven't, not really." Heath says, feeling even more guilty that he didn't check in.

"Right, well I won't keep you any longer." Kyle mutters, confused when Heath pulls something out of his pocket and chucks it up at Kyle.

"What's this?" Kyle asks, picking the keys up.

"Your birthday present." Heath says. "Figured you could do with a car of your own, I was going to save them for when you were discharged, but… I should go, talk soon." He says before quickly walking out.

Heath and Bianca's House

"You didn't even send him a text asking how he was?" Bianca asks, clearly angry that she had been lied to. "So when you told me you had just been on the phone to Kyle, that was a lie?"

"No, not exactly." Heath says. "I did try calling Kyle, but turns out I had called Lucas instead and then my phone went flat. I was going to call Kyle once it was charged up but got distracted finishing a few things off in the nursery."

"I can't believe this!" Bianca shouts. "After everything you said when we all spoke about turning Kyle's life support off, this is how you act now he's actually alive? I really don't know what goes on in that head of yours!"

"Is now a bad time?" They hear from the doorway.

"Not now, Tyler!" Heath moans.

"That's Kyle!" Bianca glares at Heath, seeing Kyle wasn't steady on his crutches, so helps him over to the couch.

"Come on Bianca, I'm not an idiot. They do this to wind me up because Kyle wouldn't be stupid enough to leave the hospital yet." Heath says.

"Look properly, Heath." Bianca snaps.

"I can go if I've interrupted something." Kyle mutters.

"Don't be silly, Heath's the one with the problem, you can stay right here while I go and call Nate." Bianca says, knowing Kyle wouldn't have told anyone about leaving the hospital.

"What're you doing here?" Heath asks, sitting on the couch next to Kyle as Bianca moves over to the kitchen to call Nate and Brax, knowing he'd want to know what's going on.

"I wanted to say sorry for earlier, I've just had a bad day. I didn't mean to take it out on you." Kyle mutters.

"I deserved it. What's made you have a bad day?" Heath asks.

"I nearly fell over in physio this morning and that meant they were going to delay my discharge longer until I could stay steady on my feet." Kyle replies.

"So what the hell are you doing here?" Heath asks, not amused Kyle has left the hospital after he clearly wasn't ready.

"I've already told you that." Kyle groans.

"I meant after how your physio session went. Why didn't you just call or something?"

"I'm getting fed up of being in that place, I just want to be at home."

"I know you do but you just have to wait a bit longer."

"How much longer? Cause I think I'm doing good and then something gets in the way and then I'm told I have to stay longer. I just want to be at home and I don't see the problem in carrying on my recovery at home. I can go to physio appointments at the hospital, or even have one of you guys do it at the gym. There's options for me." Kyle says.

"I get where you're coming from, Kyle, but you have to understand how serious it was. You had a severe head injury, severe internal injuries-"

"My spleen removed and a broken leg, yeah I know! I don't have amnesia so stop reminding me" Kyle snaps.

"We were told you were never going to wake up, had to think about turning your life support off. Your condition started getting better barely an hour after we all agreed that it was the best thing to do. You'd be dead right now if Lucas had agreed along with everyone else." Heath says. "You need to start understanding how serious this was, Kyle. I get that you don't want to be at the hospital any longer, but you have to until Nate says you can be discharged."

"You're not nice when you're bossy." Kyle rolls his eyes.

"If you listened then I wouldn't have to be bossy." Heath says, lightly shaking his head.

"Well I did listen to you which is why I'm here."

"What?" Heath frowns. "How has you being here got anything to do with what I said?" He asks.

"Well it doesn't I guess, not really. You said talk soon, and I thought it would be good for me to apologise for how grouchy I was this morning, so I came here. Plus you said you got me a car for my birthday but never showed me a picture or anything." He smirks over at his brother.

"Alright, with me." Heath chuckles, helping Kyle stand up as Bianca walks back over.

"Nate wants you back to the hospital now and Brax is on the way to take you." Bianca says. "You don't have a choice because you've got medication that you have to take daily, and didn't come with anything." She says, smiling as Kyle rolls his eyes.

"Come on, I'll show you the car and then Brax should get here." Heath says, supporting Kyle out to the driveway. "Another perk of this house, we've got a garage on the side instead of a flat like you guys."

"That's why I didn't see it on the driveway then?" Kyle asks as he stops against the wall, Heath opening the garage door up.

"Yep, thought it was best to keep it there for now, good job I did 'ey?" Heath smirks. "Now it's not brand new, but it's still a great car. I took it for a test drive and it runs smoothly." He says as Kyle walks in a little further.

"You know I don't care if it's not brand new." Kyle says. "Thank you, it means a lot."

"No problem, means I don't have to be your personal taxi or need to lend you my car anymore. Well we'll still have to for a while until you're allowed to drive again by yourself." Heath says. "You know I wouldn't have taken your anger this morning to heart, there's no way I'd stay in hospital for as long as you need to."

"Great, so that means I can go home." Kyle smiles.

"No! That means you listen to the doctor because you've got four big brothers that will happily hold you hostage in hospital until you're ready." Heath says. "And for saying that, I'll be making sure someone is with you at all times just to make sure you don't do this again."

"Fine! But before I go back, can we take the car for a spin?" Kyle asks, looking forward to being able to drive his own car one day.

"You are going back to the hospital." Brax says from behind them, walking further into the garage. "Nice car, who's is it?"

"I've already told you this!" Heath shakes his head. "The birthday present I got for Kyle's 21st."

"Oh yeah. But didn't you only give Tyler and Lucas a pack of beer each?" Brax asks.

"I put money towards the ho- The thing." Heath says, getting a glare for almost revealing it.

"The what?" Kyle asks.

"Nothing, now don't even think about going home." Brax says.

"Don't worry, I'm going back to the hospital now, so save your lecture for someone else." Kyle says, Brax helping him to the car.

"We need to talk about this whether you like it or not." Brax firmly says.

"Well I'll leave you both to it. See you tomorrow bro." Heath smiles, knowing he couldn't miss another day of not seeing Kyle after everyday was extra time to them all anyway. He couldn't ignore the fact that they nearly didn't get this chance, and he was grateful, so had to prove it.
