Northern Districts Hospital

"Good morning!" Heath grins as he walks into Kyle's hospital room with Bianca and their baby.

"Morning." Kyle smiles. "Glad you remembered about me this time." He says with a smirk.

"Thought you'd want to meet your nephew before we take him home. Are the others not here yet?" Heath asks.

"Nope, rules are different on this new ward I've been put on. Visiting hours are in the day only and don't start for another hour." Kyle says, not liking that he didn't have anyone to talk to like he did every other morning. "There's a really bitchy nurse that shouted at Emily when she came early, so she went down to the cafe for breakfast before coming back up."

"I guess we got lucky that we walked down with Nate then, he went to talk to a nurse that glared at us as we walked in here." Heath says as Bianca walks closer to Kyle's side.

"Do you want to hold him?" Bianca asks.

"Oh, I don't know. I don't want to hurt him." Kyle mutters.

"You won't hurt him." Bianca smiles as she carefully hands him over. "Meet Rocco."

"Rocco?" Kyle smiles. "You decided on a name then."

"Yep, it's the one we were both drawn to." Bianca nods.

"The doctors said he's very healthy and was just eager to enter this world." Heath smiles as Bianca takes some photos of Kyle and Rocco. "I heard you might be discharged soon yourself?"

"Yeah, as long as my physio goes well and I do my meds myself." Kyle says. "I've got a physio session in a minute, I'm just waiting for someone to come and get me."

"You can't go down by yourself?"

"Not after the disaster I had in yesterday's session. Nate normally takes me and when he can't, one of the physio assistants comes up to get me." Kyle says. "Gives me longer here." He says, smiling down at his nephew.

"He likes you." Bianca smiles. "Your brothers came up to visit last night and Rocco cried for all of them apart from Lucas. You two must have a magic touch."

"We'll be his favourites when he grows up then." Kyle smiles. "Maybe you could put a good word in with Nate, say you need help with this little guy so I can be discharged sooner."

"Not happening. Brax has already warned us against doing anything that goes against doctors orders, so no sweet talking them into discharging you early." Heath says.

"But it's been forever since I've been here. Rocco was two weeks early and he's being discharged the day after he was born. Surely he should be staying here longer as well just to be on the safe side?" Kyle moans, not impressed that his nephew was leaving sooner than him, but he was happy for his brother and future sister in law.

"Don't worry bro, we had four different doctors check him over just to make sure it was the right decision. He's very healthy." Heath smiles. "Just do well in your physio sessions and you'll be out before you know it."

"I've got two sessions a day now, so that better help." Kyle says before scrunching his nose up. "I think you better take him back now." He mutters, Heath laughing at him before taking his son.

"I've got it." Heath says, picking the travel bag up before walking out to change Rocco.

"What's different about Heath?" Kyle asks Bianca, not able to work it out.

"Brax asked the exact same thing last night." Bianca chuckles. "I think he's just realised how grown up he needs to be now Rocco is actually here. He's changed every nappy, put him to sleep and even bottle fed Rocco when I was sleeping. He's really stepped up." She smiles, quite impressed with how hands on he was already.

"And he did all of that without being asked to?"

"Yep. Who knew a baby would be the thing to change your brother's attitude around." Bianca smiles as the door opens, someone quickly walking in.

"Hi!" Emily beams as she walks to Kyle's side, kissing him before sitting on the bed next to him.

"Someone's in a rush." Kyle laughs.

"I had to sneak in here without that nurse seeing me! I think I got away with it." Emily says. "How come you were allowed in here?" She asks Bianca.

"We came down with Nate, Heath's just gone to change Rocco's nappy." Bianca says.

"Lucky! How is Rocco after his first night in this world?" Emily smiles.

"Just as peaceful as yesterday. He's starting to use those lungs a lot more though. For such a small human he's so loud!" Bianca says as Heath walks back in.

"Nate said he'll be in to take you down to your physio session in a minute, he's just finishing up with another patient." He says, glancing at Emily. "I see you were able to sneak in then?" He laughs.

"Yep." Emily nods with a grin. "I don't think it's fair that we can't stay with Kyle overnight or even come and visit early like we could before."

"Well it's not going to matter for much longer. I don't plan on staying here much longer and Nate said I might be able to be discharged before having my cast off." Kyle says.

"So there's a set time for that to happen now?" Heath says, lightly shaking his head at how long ago it was since the accident.

"Hopefully next Wednesday. I've got to have X-rays done before to make sure, but Nate sounded happy enough with how my leg has healed." Kyle says.

"Just don't get him started on the healing of his skull."

"Emily! I don't need reminding of that!" Kyle moans, hoping Nate was right in saying he'd already been through the worst of the pain.

"Oh yeah, your skull fuses back together. That sounds pretty sick." Heath smirks.

"It is sick, just not the one you're thinking of. I'm the one that has to go through the constant pain of it and the pain meds barely touch it!" Kyle complains as Nate walks in.

"Saved by the doctor." Heath mutters, not needing Kyle to go off on a rant. "We better get Rocco home, I'll come back and visit as soon as I can."

"Don't worry, I know you're going to have your hands full now. You can just check in with a phone call or something, you need to focus on Rocco more." Kyle says.

"Rocco wasn't hit by a speeding car and nearly died." Heath says.

"No but he was born less than 24 hours ago. I'll be out of here soon and you left it nearly two weeks last time, what's a week going to do?" Kyle says with a smirk, Heath glaring at him as he still felt bad for not checking in with him.

"I will be visiting before then and calling when I can, stop mentioning that!" Heath shakes his head. "You better get down to physio, see you soon." He says, him and Bianca leaving to settle their son into his new life.

Heath's House

"You didn't have to come and finish all this, I could have made time." Heath says, feeling grateful for his brother finishing the fews things off in the nursery for him.

"I think the words you're looking for are 'thanks for taking time out of visiting hours at the hospital to finish a job off that I've had plenty of time to do'." Tyler says, laughing as Heath puts him in headlock.

"Oi, remember he had surgery the other week." Brax shakes his head.

"Well thanks for this, saved me a job." Heath says, smirking as they shake his head at him.

"It means you've now got more time to focus on Rocco instead of finishing things off. Blake also managed to get your cooker to work, we noticed it didn't." Lucas says.

"So you're a handyman as well as a Lucas pleaser?" Heath smirks at him.

"My brother is an engineer, so I called him out to check it out. He said it was a pretty simple fix." Blake says. "Plus I've never had any complaints."

"Blake!" Lucas lightly glares, going red in embarrassment.

"What?" Blake shrugs with a smile. "Anyway, I need to get to work, I'll see you later." He says, him and Lucas kissing goodbye before he leaves.

"Aw, look at you two, you're so cute together." Bianca smiles as she gently rocks Rocco to sleep.

"I think I'm going to go to the hospital now." Lucas says as he grabs his phone from the side, not liking all of the attention on his fairly new relationship.

"Need a lift? Kyle should've finished his physio session by now and I was going to check in." Brax says.

"That would be great, thank you." Lucas says.

"I need to go and check on the gym before meeting up with Denny, so we'll let you settle Rocco in." Casey says as they all leave the overjoyed couple to some peace.
