Braxton House

"Morning bro. How're you feeling today?" Heath asks as Kyle slowly walks out on his crutches.

"Really good. My leg feels stronger this morning." Kyle says as he walks over to the table. "How come you're not helping Bianca with Rocco?" He asks.

"She's gone to the diner for baby and girl talk, so I thought I'd leave them all to it. I've been for a surf with the boys and was waiting for you to wake up." Heath says.

"Where is everyone else?"

"Brax and Ricky have gone to check on Angelo's, Tyler and Casey had shifts at the gym and Blake took Lucas for breakfast in Yabbie Creek." Heath says. "I've been told to keep an eye on you today to make sure you have your meds with breakfast and then I thought we could take your car out for a spin, see what you think of it."

"Finally, I've been waiting long enough!" Kyle says as Heath hands him a glass of orange juice before making him a bowl of cereal.

"It won't be a long drive, unless we leave soon. There's a family meeting at Angelo's in an hour."

"How come?"

"There's one final birthday present for you triplets, and there's also some news from me and Bianca." Heath says, handing Kyle the bowl of cereal and his medications, keeping a close eye that he was taking them right.

"You know our birthday was a while ago now, so it can't really be classed as a birthday present." Kyle smiles. "That also means you can tell me now instead of waiting for this family meeting."

"Not a chance. And it might be a birthday present, but it won't be happening for a while. We wanted you to be out of hospital before saying anything but you've also got to be fully recovered before it can happen." Heath says, taking his seat again. "That's all you're getting out of me."

"Fine." Kyle lightly nods, knowing it wasn't that long until he was going to find out anyway. "Can I ask you something?"

"Shoot."

"Why did Emily tell you that she had actually broken up with me, instead of telling me?" Kyle asks.

"I honestly don't know. We weren't expecting her to come out with it, not after everything you've both been through. Ricky did tell her to tell you herself but she said she was flying out to Perth with her family a couple hours after the chat, so couldn't. She's also quit training as a victim support officer, she never said what her new job was going to be though." Heath explains.

"Is it because of everything I was saying?" Kyle mutters.

"No, she never mentioned any of that. She just said she needed some space and that she was sorry she didn't tell you in person." Heath says. "We all thought you two were going to be together forever, so it came as a shock to us all."

"So I was last to know?"

"We were all here when she told us, apart from Brax and Tyler."

"I guess I should have known we wouldn't last, not after she cheated on me with Brent. Maybe it's a sign I can't be in a relationship with anyone without it ending badly."

"Oi, don't talk like that. Emily didn't mention it being anything to do with you, so you can't go putting yourself down. She's missing out with a guy like you, you deserve to be happy." Heath says. "Anyway, I'll let you eat your breakfast and then we'll head off. It's a short walk down to my house, but you'll be okay with that, won't you?"

"Yep. I'm not tired this morning, so that helps. Although I might struggle getting up to Angelo's, I haven't quite mastered going up and down stairs yet." Kyle says.

"Oh, yeah." Heath frowns, messaging Brax to see if it could be held somewhere else.

Summer Bay Beachfront

"So what's this about?" Tyler asks, them all being sat around one of the benches, apart from Brax who was on the phone to someone by the fence.

"Let's wait for Brax for the first announcement." Ricky says.

"Well we can give our news, the big fella already knows it." Heath says, glancing at Bianca.

"Okay, what's your news then?" Kyle asks.

"We've decided to put our wedding on hold for now. We're happy being engaged and want to enjoy this time with Rocco, we're never going to get that back." Bianca says. "Once Rocco's a bit older, maybe even at the point he can walk, we might start thinking about a wedding."

"We've both agreed a long engagement would be better than rushing things and missing important milestones of Rocco's. We know it's what we both want, and we're happy." Heath smiles as Brax walks back over to them.

"Well I think it's great that you can both agree on something like that. Organising a wedding is stressful, and you'd have even longer to prepare yourselves." Ricky says as Brax sits down next to her.

"Exactly. We think it will be in the next two years, maybe sooner. We just want Rocco to be walking and talking before deciding that." Bianca smiles.

"So now onto the next lot of news." Heath says, smirking at the triplets.

"What?" Tyler frowns.

"What have we done now?" Lucas asks.

"Nothing." Casey shrugs.

"We've got one last birthday present for the three of you. We know it's come late, but there was a lot going on that we agreed it would be best to wait." Brax starts. "And also it won't happen for a while because Kyle still has a lot to go in his recovery, but we agree it would be good for you all."

"What is it?" Lucas asks.

"We've all pitched in for a holiday for the three of you." Brax says, smiling at their faces.

"We thought you could choose where you wanted to go, and it's going to be two weeks long. We thought it would be a good present for the three of you to spend time on." Casey says.

"You've been bonding great over the last couple months, so this would be great to help that. It's something for the three of you to enjoy without thinking about anything else but getting to know each other better." Ricky smiles.

"You've really done that for us?" Kyle asks.

"Yeah, you deserve it." Brax smiles.

"Thank you." Tyler and Lucas smile.

"Yeah, thank you." Kyle says, amazed at how different things were now, and he was glad his couple bad days didn't ruin his relationship with his family.

"I want you to be fully recovered first." Brax says to Kyle. "Nate's aware of the holiday and will be letting me know when he thinks you're ready to be able to fly abroad, so no booking anywhere until he's given the green light."

"Okay, that's absolutely fine." Lucas nods.

"We can make sure of that." Tyler agrees.

"I think I deserve a holiday now after everything I've been through. A near death experience should warrant being treated like royalty." Kyle jokes.

"You've been given a new car and a two week holiday. I think you've been treated pretty well so far." Heath shakes his head with a smile.

"I see you came here in it, how does it run?" Tyler asks.

"I would be better if I was driving, but other than that really great." Kyle smiles.

"Any idea on when you can start driving it?"

"Maybe once I can walk without crutches." Kyle says, not really sure.

"No, it will be once your brain has healed. Nate said that's the most important thing to focus on right now. Your internal injuries healed well, and your leg is doing good, but the brain is still healing." Brax says.

"But that could be months!" Kyle moans.

"Looks like Lucas has a car for a while then." Heath smirks. "Least you've got two things to look forward to, driving your new car and going on holiday to get away from all of this."

"Yeah I guess so." Kyle nods, guessing Brax and Ricky weren't ready to reveal their baby news to everyone yet. "And I could let Lucas drive it, but you'd have to drive carefully. I don't need you crashing it before I've even got a chance to drive it myself."

"You have seen Lucas's driving, haven't you?" Blake scoffs.

"Yeah, that's true. I don't think I'd have anything to worry about." Kyle smiles. "Who's taking me to my physio session this afternoon?" He asks, not having been told who was taking him yet.

"I can. Things are running smoothly in Angelo's, and I've not got as much paperwork to do as I first thought." Brax says.

"Okay." Kyle nods.

"You might do a lot better in this session if you said you feel stronger on your leg today." Heath says.

"Yeah, hopefully it will." Kyle nods, all of them deciding to hang out a bit longer before needing to get back to their jobs.
