Braxton House
"You seem to be dealing with your break up well this time. How come?" Heath asks as he feeds Rocco on the couch.
"Cause I've realised that I shouldn't dwell on it like last time. There's no chance for us to get back together, not after she lied to me again. I'm getting over it, I don't need a girlfriend to be happy." Kyle says.
"But you miss her?"
"Yeah, of course I do. There's no way we're getting back together, she's proven that she never really cared about me, so that's enough for me. I'm going to let her ruin another guy's life instead. I shouldn't have gotten back with her after the first time, the warning signs were there, I just really loved her." Kyle says.
"Well there's no way we're letting you get back with her again, not after all of this." Tyler says, feeling like he could have more of a say about it this time.
"I let you make your own mistakes, and look how that turned out." Brax says, not about to let it happen again either.
"Well I'm with you all on this one." Denny says from where she was sitting on Casey's lap on the armchair. "She was a really great friend of mine, but not anymore. I can't believe she treated you like that when you needed her the most."
"She ain't welcome back here, that's a given." Heath says, Brax and Tyler agreeing with him as Blake walks through the door.
"Do you just want a key cut?" Kyle laughs, feeling like he sees more of Blake than Heath these days.
"Well if you're offering." Blake smirks.
"You like inviting people to come and live in my house, don't you Kyle?" Brax says, shaking his head as Kyle smiles at him.
"Just cause this house is full of younger people now, don't go complaining." Kyle grins. "Anyway, Lucas went for a run, he might be back soon."
"So he goes for a run on the one day it decides to rain like there's no tomorrow?" Blake frowns, still not understanding some of the things Lucas did, like going for a run the morning after a night out.
"He's always been weird like that. Apparently running in the rain helps keep him cool so he can go on for longer. You get used to these weird things he comes out with." Tyler says, never having understood his brother's logic behind it.
"Next you'll be saying he drinks the rain water so he doesn't have to carry a bottle on him." Blake jokes.
"I wouldn't put it past him." Tyler scoffs. "He used to drink out of puddles when we were kids."
"He didn't!" Kyle exclaims, never having heard this about his triplet.
"He did! And he thought grass was a vegetable, so tried eating that a lot too. I'm surprised he's not vegan or something these days, he was always into eating organic stuff. Although he won't ever turn down a good steak if he sees one." Tyler says.
"That must be a Braxton thing." Casey says, them all being the same when it comes to their steaks.
"There's no way Lucas would ever be vegan, not with the amount of omelettes and ice cream he eats!" Kyle says, just as his triplet comes through the door, dripping water everywhere.
"Lucas!" Brax shakes his head. "Ricky will kill you if she sees you standing there like that."
"Where is she?" Lucas asks.
"I'm here, now go and take those clothes off before you drown the house!" Ricky says, having done a deep clean of the house the day before with Tyler and Casey helping her.
"Sorry, I'll clean that up once I've got changed." Lucas says, heading off to his room to get changed.
"What is everyone up to tonight?" Ricky asks as she walks over to the table, leaning against it.
"Not much, we were just going to have a quiet night in." Casey says.
"We were thinking of holding a celebration." Ricky says, smiling up at Brax just as Lucas walks back out.
"Who is celebrating what?" Lucas frowns as he wipes up the water with a towel.
"We are." Brax says.
"How come? Have I missed something?" Lucas asks.
"Well if you have, then we all have." Heath says. "And if this is another announcement, shouldn't I call Bianca over?"
"I just called her and she's gone into Yabbie Creek with Irene and Leah, so said to catch her up this afternoon when she gets back. I think she probably knows about it anyway." Ricky says.
"So what is it?" Casey asks.
"You're going to be uncles again." Brax says, smiling at his brother's faces.
"How come?" Tyler asks, the realises. "Are you pregnant?" He asks Ricky.
"Yes Tyler, that's generally what being an uncle again means." Ricky laughs. "We've decided to wait until birth until we find out the gender as we think it will keep things interesting."
"Well Brax is sure it's a boy, so you may want someone to know, to keep him from only deciding on boys names." Kyle says.
"You knew?" Lucas asks.
"I told Kyle before he was discharged, thought it would help that mind of his stay positive." Brax says.
"Or cause you wanted to tell someone." Kyle smiles.
"Alright Kyle, you don't need to keep rubbing it in my face that your Brax's new favourite brother." Casey jokes, smirking at his brother's face.
"Normally I'd throw a pillow at you for that but I don't want to hit Denny." Kyle says.
"Plus you know I'd throw it straight back a lot harder and I'd rather not be shouted at today." Casey says. "But just know that I'll be that kids favourite uncle considering Lucas is Rocco's favourite."
"Hey, it's not my fault he cries for you." Lucas says. "Or that he likes Tyler and Kyle just because we look the same."
"I don't think he does like me, kids normally don't." Tyler says.
"And I never get a look in because if Heath or Bianca aren't cuddling him, you are." Kyle chuckles.
"Maybe you should get your own kid, you'd be a great dad to them." Heath says.
"No, we're nowhere near ready for that kind of commitment in our relationship. We've barely been official a month yet." Lucas says.
"But definitely one day. A kid would be lucky to have you caring for them." Blake says.
"And you. I think we'd do pretty well as parents." Lucas says.
"Considering you haven't been together for long it's like you've been together forever." Denny smiles.
"It feels like it as well. I'm really happy that we're so happy together." Lucas grins. "This family is great now as well. Everything has really fallen into place."
"Are you going sentimental on us?" Kyle asks.
"So what if I am?" Lucas smiles. "You're telling me none of you feel the same?"
"Nah, we do." Brax nods. "A lot of things have only happened because of recent events. I know we wouldn't be having a kid yet if it didn't put things into perspective for us." He says, smiling at Ricky.
"So in a way me nearly dying has actually been good for all of you. All I got out of it was a kidney and a break up." Kyle says.
"Well least you got something out of it. My kidney saved your life." Tyler says.
"After you and Brax had to basically fight it out who was going to give it to you." Casey laughs.
"Hey, I was a match as well!" Lucas says.
"Yeah but you were instantly shut down by Tyler, so it doesn't count." Casey says.
"And then it was basically decided by vote, and the choice was me." Tyler smiles. "I guess I really didn't understand how long I was going to be out of action for but it wasn't that bad in the end, everything worked out great."
"The vote was only for you because they all thought Kyle needed me more than you." Brax shrugs.
"Okay, we don't need you two going all alpha brothers again. You both had a huge role to play in helping Kyle get better, so let's leave it at that." Ricky says, smirking at the others.
"Nah, carry on, this is very amusing." Kyle laughs.
"Keep out of it baby bro, you never got a say in any of this." Tyler says.
"But it was about me so surely I can have a say now?" Kyle asks.
"Technically it wasn't about you, it was about which one of us wanted to donate a kidney." Tyler says.
"Yeah, the kidney that was for me."
"Is this what we've got to put up with now you're all getting on so well?" Brax asks.
"Yep, and this is nothing compared to what we can be like together." Lucas grins. "You've just got to get used to it now because we're not going anywhere and you'll start seeing how annoying we can really be."
"Well that's just what I need ain't it." Brax shakes his head as they decide to start preparing for the celebration later that night, feeling like the good things in their family kept coming.
