The Church

It was the day of Heath and Bianca's wedding and everyone was gathered in the church listening away with a cheerful atmosphere surrounding the couple. Although things were still tense between Kyle and Brax, none of them knew how to sort it without admitting that they got Tyler to stalk him during the stag night. Ricky had tried coming to some sort of peace meeting with them, it failing just as much as the others thought it was.

It had gotten quite awkward between them both during the ceremony as Kyle was too annoyed at why Brax was ignoring him that he missed the registrar asking him to give the couple the rings. Lucas had to kick him in the leg to get him out of his trance, having been sat closest to him, but luckily for Kyle, everyone saw the funny side to it.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The registrar says, every cheering for them as they kiss, Heath not letting Bianca out of it as he had longed for this day for ages.

"Calm down, Heath, you'll get more later!" Bianca laughs before they walk back down the aisle and out to the limo that was taking them to the after party.

"Oi Kyle, what was that about before?" Tyler asks before they follow the newlyweds and other guests.

"What?" Kyle frowns.

"You not being on earth when they asked for the rings." Lucas says. "Or have you forgotten that I had to kick you? And sorry, I think it did it harder than I meant to."

"It's fine, and no, my mind was elsewhere." Kyle mutters, glancing as Brax walks out with Ricky, not having waited for his brothers to follow them.

"Well we better go before Heath finds more things to tease you about." Tyler says, walking towards the door with Blake and Casey.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Lucas asks as they slowly follow their family and friends.

"Has Brax mentioned anything to you about why he's so angry with me?" Kyle asks, knowing Lucas wouldn't lie to him about it.

"Uh, not really. I just think you upset him because you don't talk to each other like you used to." Lucas says, seeing how confused Kyle looked about his reply. "You used to tell Brax everything after you were run over, even the tiny things that you didn't think mattered. But you don't anymore, not really. I know you tell me them, but I think it just upsets Brax that he's not the person you go to anymore."

"Surely that's not the real reason." Kyle frowns as he unlocks his car, where Blake, Tyler and Casey were waiting as they were going with him to Angelo's, where the after party was being held.

"Okay, so it's not just that. You're secretive a lot of the time and then lie about where you've been." Lucas says, holding back while the others got in the car to wait. "We know you don't go where you say you do, but then you're gone hours and don't tell us where you're going. And how come Emily was here today? You never told us she was coming but you didn't seem bothered by it."

"So all of this is actually because Emily was invited to the wedding and you think I'm a liar?" Kyle frowns.

"Well now you're kind of twisting what I'm saying-"

"Save it." Kyle says, getting in his car with Lucas closely following, getting in the back as Casey had called shotgun.

"So when do you set off for the Blue Mountains?" Irene asks the newlyweds.

"We're heading off later this afternoon." Bianca smiles.

"We've trusted Blake and Lucas to house sit and babysit for us, so that hopefully means we won't come back to the house burnt down or trashed from a house party." Heath jokes.

"You're more likely to do either of those things than Blake and Lucas!" Bianca laughs.

"Lucas wouldn't dare hold a house party even if I was to pay him a lot of money." Tyler says, smirking at Bianca's face.

"Well I'm glad we didn't leave our house in your hands." She jokes, glancing at Ricky as she walks over to them.

"Thought I'd join you, Kyle has just forced Brax onto the balcony for a chat." She says, glancing over to her husband and brother in law.

Meanwhile, on the balcony, Kyle was having troubles trying to keep Brax there, and calm at that. The eldest Braxton was not happy about being forced onto the balcony by his brother, especially since it was Kyle. If it wasn't for Ricky telling him to play nice, and for the fact that Kyle had a bad brain injury the year before, he would have shoved Kyle out of the way and walked off.

"Can we please just talk, there's some stuff I need to talk to you about." Kyle pleads, not knowing what else to do. He'd even considered knocking Brax out and tying him up just so we wouldn't walk away, but then he knew that wouldn't end well for him.

"This isn't the best time for it. It's Heath's big day, stop making it about you." Brax glares.

"I'm not making it about me but you won't talk to me!" Kyle shouts. "I'm trying to say sorry for being 'secretive' and lying about what I've been up to-"

"I know you're back with Emily." Brax stares at him, Kyle too shocked to say anything. "What I can't understand is why you would get back with her after she's cheated on you twice. Both times I've been the one who's had to put up with you being a sook for weeks just to have you run back to her all over again."

"It's not like that. That week she went AWOL, she was at her cousin's place. Her family even backed her up, and I've met him. And before you say they're lying for her, he's married to a guy and has three kids. I misread things that weren't there and we've spoken about a huge amount of stuff. I really love her, Brax, I thought you'd be happy for me." Kyle mutters.

"How long ago did you get back together?" Brax asks.

"The week after we broke up." Kyle mutters, now feeling bad for how long it had been.

"How can you expect me to be happy about something that happened over a year ago?" Brax laughs. "So much for things being different after your accident. Why don't you just ask her to live with you, it wouldn't change anything now would it?"

"You want me to move out?" Kyle frowns. "I never meant to keep it from you for this long, it's just-"

"Save your lies, I've had enough of them." Brax says, about to walk back inside when Kyle grabs his arm.

"No, you are going to listen to me whether you like it or not!" Kyle shouts, not even noticing that everyone was staring at them now. "I lied about being in a relationship with Emily, so what? I lied about it because I knew you wouldn't be happy with it just like the first time we broke up. But I'm done living my life how you want! How can you expect me to open up to you when you always have to get angry about something or make a fuss over nothing? I love Emily, and yeah, I know you don't want me to be with her after she cheated on me, but like you all suggested, girls only use me for what they want, so why should I let this be any different?"

"Are you done now?" Brax asks.

"Am I done?" Kyle scoffs. "So you have a go and me for not telling you stuff, but when I do that's all you've got to say?"

"I was never the one that forced you to open up in the first place, you're the one who agreed to it with your counsellor. You've already proven that you don't want my help in life, so why don't you go out into the real world and realise not everything has to be about you!" Brax hisses.

"Uh, Brax." Heath mutters from the side of them, both Brax and Kyle ignoring him.

"All I've done since your accident is try to make sure nothing else bad happened, I was there for you through everything, not her, but you still hid everything from us. So I'm sorry that you still have to act like the baby brother, but maybe it's time you grew up and did things for yourself for once. And if you think she's going to be staying under my roof from now on, then think again. I am done trying to give all of you a good life when it's obvious it was all a waste of time!" Brax glares, turning to walk out when he notices all eyes were on them.

"I tried telling you." Heath mutters, Brax barging past him and out the restaurant, Ricky running after him as Kyle merely stands there.
