The scenery shone as she traveled to hyperspace finally relaxed after the chase had ceased. She took the time to reflect on her past doings, contemplating just to pass the time.
Beaming streaks across the hyperspace of a fluttering cerulean luminosity was all she watched throughout the journey but that led to an unknown conclusion to her next move.
She found herself finally out of hyperspace and arrived in another system of an empty galaxy or so it would seem. After all this time, she was beginning to hunger and yearn for some beverage that she hadn't received in long periods of time.
Then suddenly, she heard a static sound coming from her intercom which made her realize that the X-Wings could've possibly followed her through. But why would they go through so much effort just for one little TIE fighter? She let the intercom proceed and could hazily hear a voice coming through.
"-This is Colonel - Alerting any surviving - from the Starkiller Base. We are located in the - Alder- system. I repeat - Alder- ran -" Mavka listened intently as the mention of any First Order intelligence. Mavka couldn't make out what they fully meant, something of the Alder-ran the system. She quickly pulled her map on her dashboard and tried locating something called Alder.
The map had too many sectors and systems that she was beginning to search for, but finally something fit. Then she realized; how can this intercom reach her? Was she already nearby the source? Mavka took the moment to realized that towards the distance was a ship. Finally, something good happened!
Mavka turned on the engine and began thrusting the controls towards the ship. The perspective grew larger and larger, a mega-class star destroyer model but its class was massive, it was something Mavka hardly noticed in all these years, she hardly traveled through space.
It took a great voyage before she felt a need to stop just a couple of miles apart from the huge ship. Mavka felt uneasy but content at the same time finally, she grew the courage and continued to veer into an available hangar.
She carefully soared inside the hangar and located a space to land yet her fleet was unexpected and rose suspicion in the whole bay. She finally settled the vessel onboard with ease, turned off the engine, and exited through the door. Mavka was a bit thrilled to finally escape from the open galaxy void and land in a familiar place the no other.
She climbed off from the platform and was already met with some crowd of stormtroopers and an Officer. The officer walked toward;
"Who are you?" The man rose a puzzling expression, perplexed by her sudden appearance. Here we go again.
Mavka steps forward.
"I am Mavka Ein. Assistant of General Hux."
The officer was amused.
"I highly doubt that. Guards!" He ordered the troopers to move, suddenly apprehending her. Mavka struggled at an immense pace.
"Call him! I give you my ID. It is no lie!" Mavka continued to protest but the sniveling smirk and doubt filled the officer's face.
"No General would even consider employing an alien. It's preposterous!" The officer chuckled as he turned around to see a familiar figure of chromium.
"Captain Phasma! Splendid timing. Get this folly girl—"
"Release her." The stormtroopers loosened their grips around Mavka, needing their Captain's orders.
"Pardon...?" His tone rose in disbelief by the sudden command of the great Captain Phasma. Mavka felt at ease just seeing them again.
Captain Phasma took a step forward.
"She is indeed an official member of the First Order. Colonel seems that you will need to check your statistics before you falsely apprehend one of your own." Said Phasma.
The Colonel was at a loss of words, dumbfounded by this situation. A very odd situation. He wanted to speak but only found himself intimidated by Captain Phasma's brooding demeanor.
Captain Phasma took a step towards Mavka.
"Pleased to see you, Ein." The chromium trooper held her gun in their hands as she peered down at Mavka.
"Captain. Where is Hux?" Mavka said with piddling concern.
"General Hux is boarded on this ship, he currently remains in his office. Is there a state of urgency?"
Mavka shook her head, resembling a child with a lack of mannerism.
"-The base. He left and I wonder- But now he is safe, yes?" Said Mavka.
"He is. He's been safely transported before the eruption. -You are concerned?" Phasma gave a little head tilt.
"It is but my... job to assist him. But I do nothing like that. Base was already... gone." Mavka gave an almost solemnity expression.
"It is my trooper's obligation to protect the General. Not yours."
"Maybe, it is more! Remember the spy. Your troopers did not appear!" Mavka exclaimed. Phasma did not reply but took a slight pause before speaking again.
"Perhaps so." Phasma took one last glance at her and left the conversation leaving Mavka bitter.
Mavka felt mixed emotions about this new situation but was at ease knowing General Hux did make it safe. It made her realize that she wasn't incompetent but also feeling futile.
It took a bit of an adventure to cruise around the whole ship before finally locating General Hux's office. It was time to rejoice.
A couple of stormtroopers guarded the entrance to what appeared to be General Hux's office. Before entering they immediately noticed and stopped her from entering.
"General Hux is busy. No one can disturb him." Said one of the guards. Mavka quickly grew impatient and attempted to pass by them but was stopped once again.
"Hey! Did you even hear me? General Hux is occupied! He doesn't want to be interrupted."
The stormtroopers nudged their shoulders against her, shoving her away from the entrance. She could quiet down and speak diligently providing the correct information to enter but every day she had to be faced with conflict.
"Quit it!" Said one of them.
"You are but the same! Dense and dull-minded!" She said, annoyed while pushing her body against them. The collision among them was getting rough and it was starting to become prominent through thick walls. Mavka pushed and strained between the two guards then suddenly the door they were guarded abruptly opened.
All the pressure upon the closed entryway took the guard's balance off a bit but Mavka's stability collapsed and caused her to stumble into someone's body. A warm fabricated surface of dark clothing and the scent of clean fibers. Something or someone broke her fall and slowly she raised her head to see that she collapsed into General Hux's chest who appeared to be pestered and confused by all the commotion outside his door.
"What is all this-" His words halted as soon as he noticed who came in close contact with his frame.
"Ein?" Hux said with wonderment. Mavka quickly removed herself from his space, somewhat abashed by the sudden impact.
The stormtroopers acted quickly and readied their blasters.
"Apologises, sir! This one just couldn't wait." Hux gestured them to cool off and so they did.
He glanced at Mavka who stood idly by as her irritation quickly perished.
"All is in order. I've been expecting her." The guards lowered their blasters and regarded his commands. Finally, the door had shut, leaving them two alone. Mavka felt agitated for some reason and she hated it. She grew this confidence all this time only for it to sink into oblivion, she sighs while General Hux overlooks her.
"You're here." He said. His tone held no emotion, no astoundment or anything.
"Yes... Yes." Mavka muttered in her first word and rephrased her yes in a better volume. General Hux starts to walk a few steps into the office.
"I would've presumed you dead. Yet, here you are." He sounds disappointed.
"I try to find you, but you were gone. The base already is... destroy."
"Yes well, I had to reach Supreme Leader Snoke before the end. You'd understand." Said General Hux. Mavka stood in silence for a moment.
"I am sorry. I feel at fault for no... responsibility." Mavka said. He noticed her guilty eloquence and found it bizarre that she was at fault for the lack of concern for him.
"For what?" He asked. Hux eyed her for a moment where she tried to find words.
"I—- ah. Never mind." Mavka replied. She quickly erased her thoughts and loaded up some new things to speak of.
"What now? The Resistance have destroy your base." Mavka asked.
General Hux walked over to his desk and sat down. She noticed the immense amount of documents laid on the table.
"We are currently locating for the Resistance and their hideout. Supreme Leader Snoke is eager for their ruination."
"Any... luck?"
He gazes at Mavka. "No. Not at the moment."
"But we are close." General Hux smiles dimly. His hands clench at the thought of his dark intentions.
"If I may..." Mavka steps a little close to the desk. "What is the Supreme Leader Snoke?"
General Hux was almost stunned at her question. Stupefied at her lack of recognition and knowledge of the Great Supreme Leader Snoke. He was annoyed.
"You do not recognize your superior? Ein, are you that thick-witted?"
Mavka stumbled a bit by his hasty words.
"I am sorry. I do not know these things. I would care to learn." She tried to ease the conversation by declaring her intentions.
Hux exhales heavily and curls his fingers into his forehead.
"I am not here to educate you on such matters. I have enough to deal with and I hardly can rest for it." He sounded irritated.
Mavka remembered that he hardly took a rest, he's always conscious and she began to wonder if he even had a minute of sleep.
"Sir, you lack energy for this. Allow me to help." Mavka walked over to his desk and began to fiddle with his paperwork. General Hux let her manage the messy documents and papers on his desk, proceeded to distance himself from her. As she was arranging his papers, she glanced at Hux's cowering posture of restlessness.
"Sir... do you not rest?" Mavka asked.
Hux covered her face with his gloved hand and rubbed his eye sockets.
"I don't have time for it. Neither do you." He replied in a caustic tone. He was right about her. If he didn't rest neither did she. But Mavka wasn't indolent and wanted to prove herself useful for once. It was a notion she kept to herself for the longest of time, reminding her when she took care of her ill mother until her last breath. All of that tending just leads to misery and tribulation. After the passing, her father and she were extremely poor and that was when her father sold her for slavery; a common trade of currency in Ryloth.
Thinking of her past lead her to slowly stop her aims of the organization.
"That is enough. You can leave." Said, Hux.
Mavka quickly snapped out of her anterior thoughts and backed off.
"Ein." He called out. Mavka stopped and turned to face him, awaiting his next commands.
"I have an important briefing later on. You'll accompany me on a journey to one of our fueling stations."
Mavka nodded and gradually left his office as he was left in the dark where the window was the only source of light in his office.
