Mavka could feel the balance of the glass shift side to side on the tray. It's jittery. It's just a cup.
She gracefully and calmly went on her merry way as a couple of stormtroopers dashed in front of her; sprinting off to the corridor on her right. Mavka groaned in annoyance but proceeded through the briefing room's entrance.
Mavka entered the room and again that same feeling returned. The room felt like it was towering over her, the space all around her was getting bigger she thought. This anxiety was pathetic, unnecessary and something she shouldn't submit herself to. Diligently she approached the General but he was busy spouting the fiery impulses of his commandments. She quietly distances herself from him then waited until he noticed her presence.
"—No part of any Resistance cell should partake in any of our outposts or station. Demand order and destroy those who even come in contact with the Resistance! I can't have any pests lingering around our existence!" General Hux was venting greatly. His desires were grand and colossal. Wishing all those who don't follow by the First Order; death and destruction.
He calmed down for a moment before he finally noticed Mavka in the same room with the refreshment he had requested a while ago. Hux gestured his finger at her to indicate that he needed his beverage. Quickly she approached him.
Her feet grazed each other, not enough space made her head steady and clear. She should've taken the glass of the tray first but she didn't, instead, she let it slip onto the edge to which caused the glass cup to collapse entirely on the ground. Shattering near their feet, the liquid splattering everywhere.
What a waste, what a paltry display.
The impact made Mavka's heart drop and made Hux feel utterly appalled and irritated by the horrendous situation.
"Ein... You are pathetic." He spat. The look in his eyes was filled with strong aggravation. The General scowled at her as she crouched down.
"—Sorry I—" Mavka stammered as she quickly tried to do the right thing. Hux stared in blank fury; it was almost like he was caught in the moment, something reminding him of this situation from long ago. A frail, weak sniveling little bastard boy. The shattered glass, the pathetic weeping, and the disapproving eyes of charred superiors.
It all was so similar and it felt like forever ago.
General Hux closed his eyes, pursed his lips as his eyes began to darken at her.
"Such a waste." He said. "Lick it off the floor."
Mavka raised her head at him in puzzlement. Was he serious?
He stomped his foot on the ground commanding her to do it.
Mavka heeded his command and slowly lowered her head onto the ground like a begging vagrant of desperation. She barely opened her mouth, refused to make contact with the dirty mess.
"Enough." Said the General. Mavka stopped to his word and carefully stood from the ground.
"I don't have time to rebuke a harrowingly, brainless girl who cannot even carry a glass properly to her SUPERIOR!" Hux's endless berate ended with a harsh exhale, finally choosing to calm himself. Mavka was tightened with discomfort, her posture began to melt watching the floor as a small cleaning droid met with her feet; mopping the mess on the ground. Everyone in the whole room just sat in silence as know they were all silently judging her. A freak humiliated like every other incompetent being in this place.
Hux glared at her departing soul.
"I'll deal with you later..." he says.
Mavka lost the courage to even stay in the same room as him and immediately left the briefing room. The others didn't care, he didn't bother to concern himself with what she'll do next. But Mavka just couldn't breathe in the same capacity anymore. The feeling she was ravished with was filled with her muscle tendons slowly being ripped from her body, heartstrings tugged with. Eyes were sore; it was like someone had grasped your eyelids for several hours, touching them until they turned crimson red.
She rushed through the corridors and found herself in a secluded area of shadows. Mavka poured herself against the wall, slopping down like melted ice pouting away with heavy tears. As they stormed down her cheek, instantly knowing it was childish and pitiful to shed whimpers so, Mavka hid her face in her knees, ignoring passing personnel as she sulked.
The meeting could be done at any minute; she thought.
A breeze of intensity passed her getting a hold of her attention, slowly she rose her head and peeked at a couple of stormtroopers jogging. She wondered why some were beginning to sprint through the corridors, it seemed unnecessary if there wasn't anything going on. Indistinguishable chatter from comlinks occurring through the distance and one particular chatter she managed to take hold of.
"—-Where's TK-7361?"
"Haven't seen him. Why?—-"
"I can't get through his comlink."
"Maybe he went to the weapons cargo—-"
The stormtrooper she listened in on had deliberately walked through the corridors as Mavka listened. But now, it was starting to grow eerily quiet. The station she saw before was occupied with guards, technicians, and such. The highest level of the station should possess much personnel, but it didn't.
Suddenly, the lights dimmed - a shattering bright red hue had overwhelmed the station's only source of light causing a flickering luminosity following with an alarming sound.
Mavka hastily shot from her crouched position and tried to gather what was going on. Was it a test? An emergency? A breach?
The briefing room door has shot wide open as a couple of stormtroopers, Commander Pyre and General Hux exited the room.
Mavka gradually made her way to them, concerned with the unforeseen situation.
The Commander seemed fixated on the circumstance as General Hux finally noticed her puling face.
"...Have you been crying...?" His tone was dismissive, disdained by what he was seeing. Mavka didn't acknowledge his question.
"What has happened...?" Mavka asked. Her curiosity was more important than his.
General Hux scoffed, chuckling softly with his usual vexation.
"Apparently, this station isn't secure." He said bitterly as he gawked at the Commander in gold.
The Commander and others looked around their surroundings and could only see the empty void and the colors of refined red constantly flashing.
"Well? Can you gather any reason for this transgression?!" Asked the General.
"Comlinks are down. I can't contact my division-"
Commander Pyre stops himself and listens in to his comlink as if he has caught something. All they could hear was static getting louder, no clear audio of anything but a few voices attempting to get through.
"This is Commander Pyre, what's your situation?"
He listens in on his comlink; a faint voice staggers through the static.
"-Commander-"
"Come in, troop! What's your status?"
"-Commander!- Droids have gone aggressive!-" The sound of blasts was heard within the comlink but fell into nothing but copious static.
"What? Come in, soldier, come in!"
Nothing else was heard. The Commander sighed through his thick helmet and faced the General. Hux was somewhat mystified by what he was hearing. Droids? Gone aggressive?
"Droids have gone aggressive? What nonsensical madness is this?" Said the General in disbelief. Commander Pyre began to move his feet, invariably looking at their desolate surroundings.
"We'll safely guide you to the hangar now, General." Said the Commander.
It was just the General, Mavka, Commander Pyre, and three other stormtroopers moving in one group heading towards the lift. The corridors felt so utterly empty, it was vacated all of a sudden. Every available guard just disappeared to this unknown turmoil dwelling somewhere in this station. How aggressive are these droids?
Only halfway towards the lift, the whole group stopped unexpectedly as a suspicious thud was heard in the far distance soon closing in on them. The guards readied their blasters, constantly checking their environment, anticipating the obscure.
"Check the perimeter." Commands Pyre. He sent just one of his troops to check for the sound source and approached the corridors carefully.
The others just watch as the lone stormtrooper ventures a bit off towards the corner when suddenly the guard's stance shifts to a spontaneous posture, their blaster already pointed in the direction of the hidden distance. But before the stormtrooper could land a few shots, they were given unrelenting blasts at the head and chest, abolishing the guard. The impact left huge, prominent holes in its armor.
Harsh footsteps were heard as if they were approaching the group. It was a shocking scene but Mavka wasn't surprised although intrigued on what the threat was exactly. Around the corner came a familiar droid equipped with a blaster cannon. As soon it took sight of the group, it unloaded blasts at them; immediately Commander Pyre set himself in front of General along with his troops, they began shooting the droid back. Its weapon was rapidly firing so the guards could land a few shots at it backing up as they gestured the others to getaway.
The lift was only a few steps ahead while Commander Pyre was fixated on the target.
"Get the General to the hangar!" Commanded Pyre. The two remaining stormtroopers nodded to his command and proceeded to lead the General safely to the lift. Mavka followed as the danger was closing in on them.
The lift they had arrived at had opened for them and immediately entered inside.
Now they reside in a droning elevator that had made General Hux's mind extend. He sighed in apparent frustration.
"What a disaster. You would think this station would've had proper security around here. Droids becoming hostile?! And yet no guard can manage the situation?-" The lift had made an alarming thud from above. There was no time to react as the entrance had heaved open and everyone within the lift had exited out. The stormtroopers walked in front of their General, regularly eyeing the place to make sure there wasn't any threat out in the open.
General Hux wasn't visibly terrified of his situation, he kept a static image, furrowed brows straight ahead as the only sentiment he showed was annoyance and impatience. Mavka kept herself distant from him as she still commemorated the awful scene she was put in. Her loins ached with distress, already longing to depart from this refueling station.
Swiftly, their path paused, General Hux was a bit alarmed by the abrupt stop due to the two guards in front. Hux poked his head out to see what the commotion was and saw what appeared to be another droid just out in the distance standing still as a figure. The two guards were already ready, aiming their blasters at what could appear as a threat.
"Hold it right there!" Said one of the guards.
But the droid didn't move or respond. The two stormtroopers made sure their General was safe and boldly moved up to close in on the peculiar motionless droid.
Mavka could only anticipate what was going to happen. A moronic death.
The stormtroopers finally met face to face with the inert droid and began poking their blasters at its armored chest. Two of them looked at each other in confusion until a snap was heard in front, the droid had instantaneously cocked its limb raising towards the two guards. Before they could react it unveiled a pointer from its forearm blasting one of them through the head with such force.
The other tried to react as quick as possible, they floundered their grip on the blaster but was met with a vigorous thrust to the neck, killing the guard once and for all. The blaster they held had slid across the floor, without hesitation, Mavka quickly grabbed it off the floor.
