IllusionSign (Guest): It's not like they're making themselves scarce when it comes to fighting off these evil teams.
Like I said, there's a lot to cover on Route 8, so I thought I would make this a solo chapter. Don't worry. I'll try to make it interesting.
Emma couldn't help but roll eyes. Less then five steps onto Route 8 and Kitty had already managed to find a Stufful. When the girls were getting ready to start their journeys, Kitty had told Emma that there was one Pokémon she wanted on her team more then anything and that was a Stufful. As happy as Emma was, it was still so...Kitty that she was able to find and befriend one so easily.
"Emma look! It likes me!" Kitty cheered as she happily held out the Stufful.
"Stuff!"
"Yes, it's very cute," Emma agreed as she knelt down to pat Stufful on the head. "Hey, has that trailer always been here?"
"Huh?" Kitty turned to look at where her sister was pointing. It was a strange white trailer that looked rather technologically advanced. "Do you wanna go check it out?"
"You read my mind," Emma replied as she helped her sister up. They walked over to the trailer and headed inside. The two workers Emma saw earlier were inside.
"Why, hello, trainers," The first one greeted the girls as they walked in. "Looks like you have some Pokédex on you. How would you two like to do a little part time work on behalf of the Aether Foundation?"
"What do you need?" Emma replied. She had heard of the Aether Foundation. They were a Pokémon rescue group who were praised by the masses for it. Emma had wanted to work with them for a while now.
"We at the Aether Foundation work to protect Pokémon through conversion." The worker began to explain. "Right now, we are surveying the Goomy that lives in the Lush Jungle. The foundation is collecting his own data, of course, but we would also like to know what data the Pokédex holds about them. So your job, if you choose to accept it, would be to register Goomy in your Pokédex and then show us the data. We will pay you, of course. I hope you help us out."
"We're heading over to Lush Jungle soon, so I'm sure we'll be able to help out," Emma promised the worker. With that, the girls walked out. They only took a few steps along the route when they saw Zossie and Dulse again. They were talking to a strange blond haired man. The girls walked towards them in hopes they could make out what they were saying. But they failed to get close enough before they walked away. The man then turned around. Emma gasped. The man in question was Colress, a famed Unova scientist and easily Emma's biggest idol.
"Em, calm down," Kitty whispered to her sister before she started bouncing off the wall.
"You there!" Colress called out. Emma had to bite her tongue to keep from squeeing. He then walked towards her. "Oh, excuse me. I am a scientist. My name is Colress. The theme of my research is: 'Bringing out the potential of Pokémon'. What brings out the power of Pokémon is...I believe that is-the bond they shared with their Trainers! And thus my attention is drawn to Trainers such as yourself...Trainers bound to their Pokémon through the power of the Z-Ring. Now that I think of it, I never asked your names."
"Oh, I'm Kitty and this girl currently fangirling over you is my big sister Emma," Kitty answered.
"Ah, a fan?" Colress asked. "Well, I'll have to make sure I remember you. I wish you both good luck at the next Trial...the Trial in Lush Jungle." He then closed his eyes. "Z-Power...is it the true potential that I seek? Does it surpass the Mega Ring? Apparently, there are uninhabited islands for Pokémon called Poké Pelago here in Alola. Alola is fascinating! I believe that I will stay in Alola for some time! Well then, girls! I I hope you will excuse me. I had the most curious request made to me by a couple of most oddly dressed strangers." With that he walked off.
Completely ignoring the loud squeeing from Emma.
Once Emma finally calmed down, she and Kitty decided to split up and explore the route by themselves. Emma ended up by the shore. In truth, she loved the ocean. It was so calming, yet it could also be so fierce under the right circumstances.
"Hmm?" She noticed there was something near her foot. The second she looked at it, it freaked and raced into a nearby hole. "Hey!" She knelt down, offering a gentle hand. She could already see what it was: A Wimpod. One of the most notoriously cowardly Pokémon in history. Yet, she knew better than to judge a book by its cover. Much like Magikarp, Wimpod could become powerful, they just needed the right Trainer to bring it out.
"Wim?" Wimpod nervously poked its head out. Emma backed up a little, before reaching into her bag. She pulled out a berry, setting it down in front of the hole. She then backed up again. Slowly, Wimpod came out of the hole. It made its way to the berry. Once it was there, it took a few nibbles, then looked around. Nothing. From there, it finally realized that Emma was no threat. Happily, Wimpod ate the rest of the berry. Once it was finished, it crawled over to Emma and made its way up to her shoulder.
"I take it you want to stay with me?" She asked with a happy smile. Wimpod merely just nuzzled into her neck.
"Aw…" Emma trailed off.
"KROW!" Emma narrowly dodged out of the way of a Murkrow that had attempted to grab Wimpod, who had moved into Emma's bag to hide. "Okay, so you wanna play that game?" She grabbed Rockruff's Pokéball. "Rockruff! Handle this!"
"RUFF!" Rockruff cried as it burst free.
"Now Bite!" Emma ordered. Rockruff surged forward, not giving the Murkrow any time to dodge. It bit down hard. "Now, finish it off with Rock Throw!"
"Ruff!" As Rockruff went to throw the rocks, it began to glow. Once the glow died down, the Murkrow was knocked out and a Midday Lycanroc was standing in its place!
"Nice going Emma!" Kitty cheered as she ran over with Stufful.
"Hey, dad always taught us to defend our teammates," Emma said with a shrug.
And now Emma has her Lycanroc and is only one more spot on her team. You wanna guess what it is? Next time, we finish up the Trials in this game with Mallow's! See you then!
