Like I said, time for Mallow's Trial. And while Emma is getting the starring role, Kitty will be getting some highlights too.

Emma took a deep breath as she adjusted her bag. The entrance to the Lush Jungle was in front of her. Judging by the pattern from the last two Trials, as well as Mallow's physical appearance, she guessed this would be a Grass themed one. The location was another clue. Emma had a pretty good feeling about this. Between Torracat, Charjabug and now Wimpod, she knew that she could handle anything that the jungle had to offer. When she entered the jungle, she found Mallow already waiting for her.

"Thanks for stopping by!" Mallow cheerfully greeted her. "Welcome to Lush Jungle, the Trial Grounds for me, Mallow! You ready to get in some hot water? My Trial is ready for you, if you're ready for it!"

"You bet I'm ready!" Emma proudly declared.

"I knew it the first time I saw you and your team…" Mallow trailed off. "You've chosen only the finest ingredients! You're one of the people who got a Sparkling Stone straight from Tapu Koko, aren't you?"

"Yeah, that was me," Emma said bashfully as she rubbed her neck. She loved how the only part of that story that everyone cared about was that she got the stones and not that she nearly fell to her death in the process. Still, she didn't mind the praise.

"I totally get it now," Mallow admitted with a nod. She then began to explain. "OK, then, here in Lush Jungle, it's time for Mallow's Trial to begin! Ah, the breath of the jungle...I can tell just what today's special should be...Yup! It's gotta be! My secret speciality: the Super Mallow Special! I'm gonna need you to find three ingredients for me! I'll need a Mago Berry, some Honey and a Big Root!"

"I can handle that," Emma assured her. Mallow smiled.

"Great! Here you go! I brought you a Forage Bag to hold all the ingredients you'll gather for your Trial." Mallow then handed Emma a small bag. Emma took it with a nod. "If you just tossed all the Trial ingredients in your own Bag, it would make something all right...something like a Mallow Mess, I guess! Let's go and find the first ingredient right away!" Mallow then walked into another section of the jungle. Emma could see a couple Fomantis walking around, only for them to run away when they saw the girls coming. "Geez, those Fomantis...I wonder if they could tell how strong you are?"

"Maybe so…" Emma trailed off. She had heard of Pokémon that could sense how strong their foes were.

"You can find Mago Berries around here," Mallow revealed. "But you'll also find Fomantis living here, 'cause they love Mago Berries, too. If you take a Mago Berry that the Fomantis had their eyes on, they might not take it so kindly! When you're done gathering ingredients here, just let me know!"

"Got it!" Emma replied as she raced off. She knew she had to be careful. The Fomantis would not be easy to spot in a place like this jungle. She looked over each spot where she saw a berry. Whatever one had the least plants around it was the one she went with. Less spots for the Fomantis to hide.

"So about that ingredient...you sure that's the one you want to grab?" Mallow asked. "If any Pokémon had their eyes on it, you might be taking something that the Pokémon thinks belongs to them. And then they may attack you later."

"Yes, I'm sure." Emma replied.

"Then it's onto the next ingredient! Chop-chop! Let's keep moving!" Mallow ordered as she and Emma walked away.

"You can harvest Honey from the flowers that bloom here in the jungle!" Mallow explained to Emma once they reached the next area, which had several flower bushes around the area. Emma began to look around. It didn't seem like there were any Pokémon in the area, so she felt fine just grabbing Honey from the first bush she saw.

"First one, huh?" Mallow questioned. "You sure that's the one you want?"

"I think I'll be fine," Emma assured her with a dismissive hand wave.

"Alright then!" Mallow cheered. "Onto the final ingredient!" With that, she led Emma off, while neither noticed a Fomantis taking notice of the missing Honey...

"So the last thing is a Big Root, right?" Emma asked once they arrived at the final location in the jungle.

"Yep! You can find them near the trees deep in the jungles that look kinda like Sudowoodo!" Mallow explained. "But you'll also find that some of the trees that look like Sudowoodo ARE actually Sudowoodo! Good luck and watch out!" Emma headed into the foliage.

"Okay, so I gotta watch for Sudowoodo…" Emma noted to herself. She was pretty good at spotting Sudowoodo when they were standing with normal trees. Still, she had to be careful. Pulling out a bottle of water, she lightly poured water on each tree. If it flinched, then it was a Sudowoodo. After a few tries, she found a tree that didn't move and grabbed the Big Root near the tree.

"All finished up?" Mallow asked.

"Yep! So now what?" Emma asked.

"All right, Emma, that's what I like to see!" Mallow cheered. "Since you've got all the ingredients, let's head back to the entrance." With a smirk, Emma followed Mallow back to the entrance.

"Thanks for stopping by!" Mallow thanked her again. She was standing in front of a large pot, along with Lana and Kiawe. "Lemme check the ingredients you got for me! Let's see the Mago Berry first!" Emma handed it over, and, when nothing came after her for it, Mallow put it in the pot. "There! We pour in the Fresh Water that Lana brought us! Next up is Honey!"

"Cuh-cuh!"

"Damn it!" Emma mentally cursed. How did she not think that there wouldn't be Fomantis in the bushes!? Still, it wasn't that much of an issue for Torracat.

"Well, Fomantis sure does love it's Honey!" Mallow said with a laugh before dropping the Honey in the pot anyways. "Now we mix the Honey using the Thick Club that Kiawe brought along…" She began stirring. "And last but not least, the Big Root!" She dropped that into the pot as well. "And finally, it's finished...with one last pinch of my super-special secret price! Ta-da! The Super Mallow Special! It's all done and it smells delicious!" Emma was forced to admit, it did actually smell rather good. She watched as Lana and Kiawe grew more and more nervous. Turning around, Emma saw a massive Lurantis.

"Snip-snip!"

"Torracat go!" Emma called out. She had never returned Torracat to his Pokéball, so he was ready to attack. "Unleash your Z-Move! INFERNO OVERDRIVE!"

"Torra….CAATTTTTTTTTTTTT!" Torracat launched forward. Emma smiled, only for her jaw to drop when she realized that the Lurantis was still standing.

"I know it's just because it's the Totem, but that was impressive…" Emma thought to herself. She shook her head. She needed to focus! "Torracat, Flame Charge!" Yet again, Torracat landed the attack.

"Lura!" Much to Emma's shock, Lurantis proceeded to use Low Sweep. While Torracat thankfully wasn't a Dark-Type, yet, it still did more damage than any of its other moves.

"Shoot!" She cursed. "Fire Fang!" Another attack landed, followed by another Low Sweep. It was stronger than the last, leaving Torracat crippled for the attack. "Okay! New plan! Torracat, you did good! Come back!" Torracat returned to the Pokéball with no fuss. "Now, Char-" She froze. She could use Charjabug, but she really wanted to give Wimpod a chance. She sighed. "Okay then. Wimpod! Let's do this!"

"Wimp!" Wimpod was beyond nervous. How could he do this!? He looked back at Emma. She was smiling. She believed in him. He turned back to the other Pokémon. He could do this!

"Okay, Struggle Bug!" Wimpod launched itself forward and attacked with all it's might. Much to everyone's shock, the Lurantis fell. Emma scooped Wimpod into her arms.

"Yes! You did so good!" She cheered as she snuggled Wimpod into her cheek.

"Wow, Emma, you're even stronger than I thought!" Mallow marveled. "You really drew the best out of your team! You even quieted down the Lurantis-the Totem Pokémon of Lush Jungle! You battled your way through the Pokémon living here in the jungle to get me the ingredients I need. You, Torracat, and Wimpod make a fabulous team!"

"Yes, even back at Wela Volcano Park, my Salazzle didn't stand a chance." Kiawe noted.

"Nor did the Wishiwashi I had trained so carefully…" Lana chimed in.

"Well, looks like you've cleared all three of Akala's Trials!" Mallow remained impressed. "An amazing Trainer like you, who even cleared my super-hard Trial, definitely deserves this!" She then handed Emma a Grassium-Z.

"You did so awesome, Emma!" Kitty cheered as she entered the forest.

"Let me show you how to use Grass-type Z-Moves! You go, like, 'Graaaassss!' Okay? Here, watch me!" Mallow then began to show Emma how to do the Z-Move dance. "Since you've cleared my Trial, why don't you try raising some Pokémon from Lush Jungle?"

"Actually, yeah. I think I will go hunting for something," Emma admitted. "I won't get in the way of Kitty's Trial, will I?"

"Of course not!" Mallow assured her. The Totem Lurantis was currently wolfing down Mallow's food, clearly trying to get ready for yet another battle. Everyone laughed.

"So how did it go?" Emma asked her sister as she walked over to her, her new Fomantis at her side.

"I grabbed things that had Pokémon wanting them," Kitty groaned. She then smiled. "But Cutiefly got the best reward for being so helpful!" She sent out her Cutiefly, which was now a Ribombee.

"Nice going Kit!" Emma cheered as she slung her arm around her sister. "We are on a roll!"

"Sweet?" Kitty and Emma both looked down to see a small Bounsweet happily jumping in front of them.

"AWWWWWWWWWW!" Kitty gushed. "Look at that!" Her Rotom-Dex came out.

"Bounsweet: the Fruit Pokémon, Although it's too sugary for human consumption, Bounsweet's sweat can be watered down into a juice with just the right amount of sweetness." It announced.

"I think I need to add this guy on my team," Kitty declared. This just made Bounsweet even more excited. Kitty pulled out a Nest Ball. Bounsweet tapped on the ball, letting itself get caught.

"C'mon! Looks like we're all finished here," Emma said as she helped her sister up. The duo headed out of the Jungle.

"Woo! What's that sweet smell I smell, driftin' my way?! Could it be a tasty Mallow Special?" The girls turned around. It was Kukui!

"Dad!" Both girls cheered as they pulled their dad into a hug.

"I heard you cleared Mallow's Trial, yeah? All right then, I have a present for you two!" He then handled both girls TMs. "There'll be all kinds of discoveries and new experiences to make your adventure brighter! Now, how about we give your mother a visit?"

"Yes!" Both girls cheered.

Looks like a lot happened in this chapter. Emma now has a full team. Kitty only has one slot left. Both girls are done with all their Akala Trials. But now, the girls are going to pay their mom a visit! See you then!
