And with this, our heroes are now onto the third island: Ula'ula Island!

"Man, Emma was crazy at Aether Paradise, huh?" Hau noted once they all arrived at Ula'ula Island. Emma had headed for the Poké Center in order to stock up on more Potions.

"Well, that's what she wants to do once she gets older," Kitty explained. "She looks up to mom and dad and really wants to be studying Pokémon."

"That's so cool that Emma already knows what she wants to do!" Hau marveled. "Hey, I just had a great idea! Come on, let's have a battle!"

"You know I'm always up for a battle!" Kitty declared as she pulled out her own Pokéballs.

"All right! Then let's go full powered on this one!" Hau said as he sent his Dartrix forward.

"Go Ribombee!" Kitty called out as she sent out her Pokémon. "Now, Bug Buzz!"

"Bombee!" Ribombee launched the attack, nearly knocking Dartrix out, but it remained standing.

"Dartrix, Pluck!" Hau ordered. The attack hit, and while it was Super Effective, it wasn't enough to knock Ribombee out. Another Bug Buzz and Dartrix was down. "Okay, Vaporeon, go!"

"Ribombee, Energy Ball!" Kitty ordered. Ribombee attacked, but failed to knock out the Vaporeon. Vaporeon promptly knocked out Ribombee with a Quick Attack. Kitty then sent out Steenee. "Steenee, use Stomp!"

"STEE!" As Steenee landed the attack, it began to glow. Next thing Kitty and Hau knew, a Tsareena was standing on a knocked out Vaporeon.

"Tsareena, the Fruit Pokémon: Its long, striking legs aren't just for show but to be used to kick with skill. In victory, it shows off by kicking the defeated, laughing boisterously." Rotom-Dex announced.

"Alright!" Kitty cheered.

"Raichu, let's go!" Hau declared as he sent out his Alolan Raichu.

"Tsareena, Trop Kick!" Kitty ordered proudly. Tsareena attacked with a lunge. In spite of its speed, the Raichu failed to dodge in time. It didn't knock it out, but it dealt heavy damage. "Now, Razor Leaf!" This knocked Raichu out.

"Let's go Tauros!" Hau ordered as he sent out his Tauros.

"Tsareena, you did great!" Kitty declared as she called back the Grass-Type. "Bewear, it's your time to shine!"

"Bewear!"

"Tauros, Pursuit!" Hau ordered.

"Bewear, Hammer Arm!" Kitty ordered at the same time. Both attacks landed at the same time and Tauros was knocked out on contact, while Bewear took a bit of damage.

"This is my last Pokémon, but I'm not giving up!" Hau declared. "Noibat, let's go!"

"Noi!"

"Now, Wing Attack!" Hau ordered as he thrust his hand forward. It didn't knock Bewear out, but Kitty knew that Flying beat Fighting.

"Bewear, come back!" Kitty said as she pulled out Lycanroc's Pokéball. "Lycanroc, let's end this!"

"Lycan!"

"Rock Slide to finish this battle off!" Kitty ordered with a smirk. The attack landed, knocking Noibat out and netting Kitty the win.

Hau let out a loud sigh. "I had my breath held that whole battle! You know what, Kitty? You should take this Lycanium Z, too!" He then handed her two Z-Crystals.

"What's the second one for?" Kitty asked.

"For me," Emma realized as she walked back over, grabbing the Crystal from Kitty's still open hand. "Where'd you get these?"

"It came as a set with those Big Malasadas that Ms. Wicke, but I don't plan on adding any Lycanroc to my team or anything," Hau explained. He then turned back to Kitty. "You and your Pokémon looked like you were having a blast, Kitty!"

"Of course we were!" Kitty replied. "We got to battle you!"

"Dense morons," Emma internally noted.

"I guess it's just like my gramps said," Hau noted. "Go beyond winning and losing, and learn to find joy in battle...then you'll find that you're getting strong before you even know it!"

"Especially if you battle people who you really care about!" Kitty declared as she slung one arm around Hau and the other around Emma. While the latter just shared a laugh with her sister, the former found his face turning red.

"If only Gladion could realize that," Hau said as he attempted to ease his blushing.

"Maybe he wouldn't be such a stick in the mud if he did," Emma joked. "I think Dad said he was in Malie Garden, right?"

"Race you there!" Kitty called out as she rushed into Malie City.

"Oh no you don't!" Emma said with a laugh as she and Hau raced after Kitty.

"Yep, don't see Dad," Kitty noted as she finished looking around the entrance of the Garden. Once the kids had arrived Kukui was nowhere to be found.

"Always makes it either really hard or really easy to find him," Emma noted as she crossed her arms.

"I heard that they served tea somewhere in Malie Garden," Hau revealed. "I'll start my search going from the bridge here, why don't you two start around the edge of the Garden?"

"Got it!" Emma declared. "Kitty, you head up the left, and I'll go right!"

"Roger that Em!" Kitty declared as they set off.

"Right at the tea stand," Emma noted with a smile once they finally managed to find Kukui.

"Ho! Professor Kukui!" Hau cheered.

"Hau! Girls!" Kukui cheered as he pulled his girls into a bearhug. "What's going on with you three? Your eyes are shining extra bright today. Did something big happen?"

"AETHER PARADISE WAS AWESOME!" Emma gushed happily, cutting Kitty and Hau off before they could even get a word in. "An Ultra Wormhole even opened up right in front of us! There was an Ultra Beast and everything! We gotta tell mom too!"

"Woo! You all got to see the Ultra Wormhole and an Ultra Beast?!" Kukui exclaimed, his eyes going wide as well. "That IS awesome, oh yeah! Sounds like an even better reason to train hard, yeah, on your island challenge! Maybe someday we'll be able to go through the Ultra Wormhole!"

"Emma, you still there?" Kitty asked. Her sister's excited face said it all. She could be the first professor to explore other dimensions!

"All right!" Kukui declared, snapping Emma back to focus. "Your next trial is up on Mount Hokulani! You can catch the bus to get there. Just head to the bus stop on Route 10, yeah?"

"You guys can go ahead without me, Professor," Hau said. "I've got a hot date with a malasada shop! I'm gonna get my Pokémon some treats so they'll really start to like me!"

"Roger that, good buddy!" Kukui replied. "I'll be waiting at the bus stop girls, whenever you're ready to go!" With that, Kukui headed off.

"Hey, guys, did you know?" Hau asked.

"Um...know what?" Kitty asked, barely looking away from her selfies.

"There's an observatory up on Mount Hokulani!" Hau revealed.

"Oooooh," Both girls replied.

"And you do know what it is they do at an observatory, right?" Hau asked. "Hope you do, because I sure don't. Now I'm out!" Waving to the girls, Hau then headed off.

"So...what do they do up there?" Kitty asked her sister.

"Why do you think I'll know?" Emma asked.

"Because you know so much already, so I thought you would know," Kitty replied.

"...Okay that's fair," Emma admitted with a smug grin. "But I want to train for a bit."

"I think I should too," Kitty admitted. "So, how about we meet by the front?"

"Works for me," Emma replied as the two girls set off.
