Author's note: Hi guys :)! I apologize for the long wait, but the final chapter of this awesome story is finally here :)! Enjoy :)!
Glitter World
Feeling a sense of vigor, Cloud soon looked to Tifa. His gaze made Tifa nervous. She looked so bashful, evident by her face turning strawberry red.
"Tifa, I couldn't reveal this due to many reasons. I've always cared and loved you. I wanted to tell you, but I couldn't." Cloud confessed.
Tifa felt her heart race. Hearing Cloud's confession left her unprepared for a moment. Her hands reached to her mouth covering it as she gasped. Soon, a torrent of tears raced down her cheeks. This got Cloud worried as he soon held her close.
"Tifa...?" He asked with concern.
"I've waited.. so long for you to tell me your feelings. I always wanted to hear you say those words." Tifa said, hugging Cloud.
Tifa had her arms around Cloud's shoulders. She refused to let go, fearing she would lose him. Cloud felt the same way, gently tightening his hug to Tifa. Nearby, Lightning and Yuna watched the couple from afar.
"I'm glad they reunited with each other. Hopefully Tidus comes back." Yuna said.
Lightning said nothing, but she too longed for courtship. Shaking her to clear her thoughts, Lightning composed herself.
"We should let them be. They need their time alone." She said.
Yuna and Lightning left Cloud and Tifa alone. Before anyone could expect anything, a bright light appeared, blinding any whom saw it. Lightning wondered if Cosmo is going to appear at any given moment.
"I'm happy you two have found your love for each other." Cosmo said, revealing herself.
"Cosmo." Cloud said with surprise.
"The love that you two possess gives me strength to help defeat Chaos. However, you must confront your adversary, Sephiroth. Do so, and you may return to your home world without him causing any problems." Cosmo said.
Cloud and Tifa knew Sephiroth would come to seperate them. She held the swordman's left hand, wanting to hold him close.
'I won't let you fight your battles alone. I will help you overcome them to the best of my strenghth.' Tifa thought.
'If you're planning to fight alongside me, I won't hold you back. This is our fight, and I want to end this together.' Cloud thought. He wanted to go back to his own world without any trouble going in his way.
Cosmo smiled, seeing the couple determined to fight the battle to return home.
"Be ready, you two. The other allies will return to their worlds when they overcome their enemies. Do not worry, for they too have their way home." The goddess reassured.
Cloud knew he would have to face Sephiroth with Tifa. Knowing he will appear, he was determined to fight off his adversary.
"I won't waver in this fight. I must continue to reach my home, but not alone." He said.
Tifa held on to Cloud, not wanting to seperate from him. This made him hold her close. She blushed in response, but didn't resist. The swordsman felt Tifa's head lean into his shoulder, seeking any form of hope or comfort.
"Will we able to defeat Sephiroth?" Tifa asked.
"We've fought him not once, but twice. We can overcome Sephiroth, so long as our hope doesn't die." Cloud spoke.
Cosmo could see the couple before her having a strong bond.
"I won't stop till we find our way home. We will win this war." Cloud declared.
"Be ready when the fight begins again. This will be a tough battle." Cosmo warned.
The goddess soon dissapeared, leaving the couple behind. Cloud exhaled in response, but he looked to Tifa. Though he looked indifferent, she could feel his skin getting warmer.
"I have so much to say, but I don't know where to begin." Cloud spoke, hinting his nervousness. He was feeling a little bit shy but not quite actually.
"We can start from our childhood, Cloud. You were there with me," Tifa said.
Cloud blushed, recalling his memories. He knew during his childhood that he wasn't as interactive to Tifa, but cared for her. A memory from the past soon flushed, making him recall the night of his home when he made a promise to her.
"I couldn't forget that. How could I not remember that time when I made that promise?" Cloud spoke with reminiscence.
Tifa smiled in response. Overcoming her shy behavior, she leaned on to Cloud's chest with a soft smile. Cloud didn't pull her away, holding her close.
"It's warm..." Tifa spoke softly.
Cloud soon felt his heart race. Now consciously aware of Tifa near him, his face began to flush. Cloud also wanted to win this war no matter what, and return to the world he lived in with Tifa.
After some time has past, the couple enjoyed their peace. Before any could expect anything, several replicas of Cloud and Tifa appeared. The couple was ready for a battle to start.
"Here they come!" Tifa exclaimed.
Tifa used her martial arts to fight off the replicas. Cloud was able to keep them busy, thanks to his sword.
"They don't put up a fight." Tifa noted.
"Let's take them down. I have a feeling Sephiroth will show up." Cloud said.
The replicas dissapeared in a black, blue smog. Cloud and Tifa didn't lower their guard yet. Soon, a black feather floated near them, alerting the couple.
"You arrogant traitor.." A familiar cold voice echoed. Cloud and Tifa both knew what's coming in their way.
A chill crept up their backs. Knowing of the tone of the voice, Cloud and Tifa turned to where it came from. Sephiroth was there, holding his sword in his left hand.
"Begone to the Promised Land." He said.
Cloud held his sword up, ready to fight off his archnemesis. Sephiroth was also ready. Both dashed, ready to fight to the death.
"You think you'll save yourself by severing the mark of Chaos. It's foolish even for you, Cloud." Sephiroth remarked.
"Shut up." Cloud snarled.
Soon, the forces of Chaos arrived. Kefka and Jecht arrived, gleeful for a fight.
"It was inconceivable even to hear one of our allies betraying us. I'm going bonkers trying to figure this out." Kefka remarked.
"Shut your clowny mouth, Kefka. This is a time to fight." Jecht shouted.
Lightning, Tifa, and Yuna held their ground. Soon, a familiar face to Yuna arrived. It was a youthful teen with shoulder length blonde hair, blue eyes and tan skin. He only wore a gauntlet on his left arm, black shorts with a red tri-hooked symbol, and brown shoes with yellow highlights. His top was bare, showing a silver necklace with same symbol from his shorts.
"Tidus! You're really here.." Yuna said, holding her tears.
"I still don't remember you, but if we did had adventures back in the past, I think I recall them. I wish my memories are back." The boy named Tidus spoke.
Yuna held Tidus for a few seconds before turning around to face the forces of Chaos. She held her staff ready to fight back.
"I won't hesistate anymore. I will fight agains't Chaos if I have to. Ifrit! Surge forth with hellfire!" Yuna commanded.
A fiery beast emerged, breathing a fire that surged in the battlefield. The combatants dodged the assault as they scrambled away.
Cloud and Sephiroth had their weapons clashing, the sound of their blades echoed with gusts of wind billowing.
"You can never defeat me, Cloud. I will always be haunting you, even in death." Sephiroth forewarned.
"That doesn't mean I won't fight back." Cloud retorted.
"Begone to the Promised Land." Sephiroth spoke.
The silver one-winged warrior held his sword up from the left side, dashing through with eight swipes. Cloud was forced on the defense, blocking the attacks. He almost staggered, but kept his ground.
"So you endured my special attack, the Octoslash. How long will that endurance last?" Sephiroth questioned with a dark smile.
'He's right. I can't endure that attack too much.' Cloud thought.
Cloud raised his sword before spinning it above him. Energy began to converge from the blade before forming flaming rocks.
"Storm! Rain down!" Cloud commanded.
A rain of meteors blitzed around Sephiroth, forcing him to dodge. However, his face didn't show an ounce of panic. Rather, he had a cold smile.
"You and I are almost the same, despite our differences. So much so, I find this amusing." Sephiroth mused.
Soon, Sephiroth channeled magic. A looming shadow was covering the battleground. Every combatant soon stopped to look up at the sky. All were now hesistant, intimidated upon the sight.
"It can't be...!" Lightning spoke, showing some fear.
"Is this what Cloud faced before, along with Tifa...?" Yuna questioned.
"This is crazy..." Tidus spoke.
"Has Sephy gone mad?" I don't even have this kind of power." Kefka spoke.
"Looks like Sephiroth is not holding back. This is getting dangerous." Jecht remarked.
Cloud was face to face of the sight above his head. A small planetoid was crashing in. Reminded of a similar incident of his world, Cloud lost his footing, falling to his knees.
'Is this how it ends...? The same magic that almost destroyed Gaia?' Cloud thought.
Refusing to give in, Cloud stood up defiantly. Soon, a glow of light appeared in front of him. It was a small, white sphere about the size of his palm, but it radiated with magical power.
'This is..! The crystal. Aerith, you're still with me.' Cloud thought, smiling.
Holding the white sphere, Cloud channeled his magic with all his willpower. An ethereal shield was created. It formed into a giant magic shield that soon caused the planetoid to stop. The force of the shield was too strong for the meteor to pierce through. It soon crumbled to dust.
"How interesting. Not once, but twice that the Holy spell held back the most destructive magic in existence. It doesn't mean the fight is over." Sephiroth remarked.
Tifa made her way to Cloud, whom was panting from using so much willpower to use Holy. She wanted to make sure that he was doing ok.
"I had some trouble with the forces of Chaos. I'm here now." She said.
"We're going through this together, huh?" Cloud remarked. "Yes we are," Tifa replied back confidently.
A ghost of a smile graced Cloud's face as he and Tifa were ready to fight Sephiroth. Both showed no fear as they charged forward.
"Even with strength from numbers won't be helpful." Sephiroth remarked.
"Don't bet on it." Cloud spoke.
Cloud performed a charging slash with his Braver limit break. Sephiroth moved out of the way, dodging the attack. This was led with a surprising follow up. Tifa was on Cloud's sword, ready to leap forward.
"No time to doubt." Cloud said.
He swung his sword with vigor, sending Tifa with immense speed to Sephiroth. The one winged warrior did not anticipate this attack. Tifa soon performed a rolling forward flip. Her right leg was acting like an ax kick. Sephiroth was forced to block the attack only to leave himself wide open for a grapple attack. Tifa held his right arm, allowing her to punch Sephiroth in his stomach.
This briefly knocked the wind out of Sephiroth, before Tifa tossed him down to Cloud.
"This is it." Cloud spoke with determination.
Channeling energy to his sword, Cloud soon began spinning like a helicopter, catching Sephiroth in the vortex, slicing him. Soon, he was sent flying with several grevious cuts on his body.
"This fight is not over yet, Cloud. I will not fall so easily." Sephiroth spoke, determined to take Cloud down.
Sephiroth soon created a hole in reality, transporting Tifa and Cloud to his ultimate attack.
"Taste the force of Supernova." Sephiroth's voice echoed.
Cloud and Tifa were not ready to endure the attack. They were forced to cast a magic barrier to soften the damage, but it was still powerful.
"Ugh.. That hurt.." Cloud grunted.
The shockwave of the exploding star didn't make any incapacitating injuries, but the wounds were painful. It was thanks to the magic barrier that Cloud and Tifa were able to survive the attack.
"Cloud, are you ok?" Tifa asked Cloud in a concerned manner, standing close to Cloud.
"I'm alright. We have to end this here." Cloud said.
Tifa nodded before suggesting a plan.
"I'll try to keep him distracted while you go for the finishing blow. Let's end this." Tifa said.
She dashed to Sephiroth, distracting him while Cloud began to recuperate his stamina. Soon, light gathered on his body which recovered his body. Feeling recovered, he now felt his strength returning. Cloud dashed to Sephiroth in the air.
"Sephiroth!" Cloud shouted.
Distracted from Tifa, he didn't expect Cloud to arrive as his shouting left him defenseless from Tifa's attacks. This became the signal for her to move away from Sephiroth.
"What?!" Sephiroth questioned, now off guard.
Cloud began a ruthless assault, dashing to Sephiroth with a barrage of attacks. He soon floated above Sephiroth's head before slicing down.
"This is...!" Sephiroth realized.
Cloud began to channel his energy to his sword one more time. He began slicing Sephiroth in rapid succession. The attacks became so fast, they were a blur. Flashes from the attacks were seen among the combatants on the ground before Cloud raised his sword for one final attack.
"It's over Sephiroth. Omnislash: Mugen!" Cloud shouted.
Cloud began to make four slashes that left an eight pronged star shape appear before performing a powerful overhead slash. The attack was so strong, Sephiroth's masamune was destroyed. In the attack, the energy output was so incredible, an explosion was created. Sephiroth perished as every trace of him vanished.
"He's gone..." Cloud spoke out of stamina.
Tifa went to him to help Cloud recuperate. She had a hopeful smile on her face.
"We can return home, but what about the others?" Tifa asked.
"We should but we aren't. There's one threat that's still with us." Cloud spoke omniously.
"Who?" Tifa questioned.
Soon, a fiery being arrived. The being was enwraped in a curtain of fire, obscuring its form. Cloud, however, knew who it was.
"You traitor..." A male voice boomed.
"Chaos..." Cloud revealed.
The being looked like a demonic apparition. The very sight was enough for every warrior present to fall to their knees from his presense alone.
"I'm utterly surprised as to how you overcame the mark I branded you with." Chaos spoke, pointing to Cloud.
"I've realized what I've forgotten.. It is not worth joining your dissidium." Cloud spoke.
"Then you leave me no choice." Chaos remarked.
Cloud gathered his strength to stand up, despite his fatigue.
"I won't waver to protect those I care for." Cloud declared.
Holding his sword up, he got himself ready to fight the god of discord. Tifa soon joined in the fight.
"I will help. We are in this together." Tifa said.
Lightning soon arrived, albeit slightly tired.
"The fighting is not over yet. We all have the same desire." She spoke.
Yuna and Tidus joined in, having defeated Kefka and Jecht.
"We all want to return where we once lived. This war must end." Yuna said.
"That's why we all must join our strength together." Tidus said.
Everyone soon placed their hands on Cloud and Tifa. The pair felt their strength growing strong.
"You guys..." Tifa said in surprise.
"You're all..." Cloud realized.
"Take him down, you two." Lightning commanded.
"We gave our strength and power to you two." Tidus followed.
"Don't worry about us. We will be handling Chaos's army." Yuna said.
Lightning, Tidus, and Yuna turned to face the army of Chaos, leaving Cloud and Tifa to fight the god.
"Don't hold anything back." Cloud said.
"I'm with you till the end." Tifa said.
The pair dashed to the god, whom began using the fire to create his attacks.
"Even if you're protected by Cosmo, you will all fall." Chaos spoke.
"You underestimate a powerful force that you gods cannot hope to understand." Cloud said as he began to land several attacks on Chaos.
"Love and hope are the forces that you can't understand. This is how and why you fail to understand how you will lose this war." Tifa said, punching the god.
'How could two mortals like them have this incredible power? What is their drive?' Chaos thought as the god felt his strength dissapearing.
"Tifa..." Cloud said.
"I'm doing fine, Cloud. This war will be over." Tifa said.
He nodded in response. Tifa began to unleash her limit breaks in response.
"Keep him pressured. We can end this." Cloud spoke.
Tifa dodged a barrage of fiery blasts before supercharging a punch. She landed it on Chaos's chest sending him flying. Cloud soon hurled two sapphire gauntlets to Tifa.
"Tifa! Catch!" He said.
Tifa soon caught and equipped them. She realized what it was.
'The Premium Heart.. Thank you, Cloud.' Tifa lovingly thought.
Channeling her energy for an ultimate attack, she charged both of her fists. Cloud distracted Chaos with his cross slashes allowing Tifa to zoom in to Chaos for her attack to connect.
"Seraph's Gateway!" Tifa shouted.
She performed a dual punch to the god, creating a massive explosion that dwarfed Chaos. The god of discord screamed in pain.
"Perish in hell," Tifa exclaimed loudly as she delivered her final blow.
Tifa soon landed near Cloud, having exhausted her strength.
"End it, Cloud." She said.
He nodded, ready to perform his final attack. His sword began to channel an aura of light. A blade of light energy formed, increasing the sword's length.
"This ends the dissidia..." Cloud said.
Raising his sword for one final attack, Cloud announced its name.
"Arch angel's Blade!"
The sword was a towering blade, reaching beyond the heavens. Cloud swung with all his might, landing on Chaos. With the god's defeat looming, he smiled in bitter defeat.
'I will finally perish...' He thought.
Chaos's form disintegrated. Cloud and Tifa soon noticed the army of Chaos dissapearing to dust. The pair soon saw light engulfing them.
"What's happening?" Tifa asked.
"You're all returning to your home world, along with my fellow warriors." Cosmo said.
"This means the war is over." Cloud said.
"Yes. I promised you all to return home and I will grant it." The goddess spoke.
Cloud and Tifa arrived in a familiar place. Both realized where they are.
"Gaia... We're back home on Edge." Tifa said.
"Back to our normal lives." Cloud followed.
The couple soon embraced, having a sense of peace after all they've been through. Having a chance to see tomorrow, Cloud and Tifa never had their feeling for each other waver. They were ready should a war happen, but they now found their home to rest.
