Gamelover41592: Thank you!
IllusionSign (Guest): Probably. I mean, I headcanon that she is a stoner and that's what I was implying Emma smelt on her.
Matt (Guest): That would be funny...if I was doing that.
Time to claim the other flute! Let's get going!
Upon returning to Seafolk Village, the girls rushed towards Mina's houseboat. Luckily, she was waiting outside.
"Did you find out anything useful?" She asked the girls once she saw them arrive.
"Yes! And Hapu was made the new kahanu!" Lillie revealed.
Mina's eyes went wide. "Little Hapu was? We've been having old man Nanu look after our grand trials up until now." She then gave what the girls could only describe as an awkward smirk. "That's great!"
"I think Hapu will do the best for the island and make her grandpa proud," Kitty happily said.
"And I will do my best for my mother's sake. And for Nebby, as well," Lillie chimed in. "A-and so! There's a place we need to go."
"Can you get us to Exeggutor Island?" Emma asked.
"Me, no." Mina replied. "But the chief can!"
"Did you call me!?" A voice yelled out. The girls turned to see an older male with a Pelipper flying next to him.
"Oh my goodness!" Lillie yelled out again as the man jumped down.
"Nice to meet you," The man greeted the girls. "I'm the chief of the seafolk. I couldn't help overhearing what you said. So why don't I get you to Exeggutor Island?"
"That would be great," Emma said with a nod.
"Yes, thank you!" Lillie added in.
"Hold up there, little lady! It's Emma and Kitty who will go on this trip. They are trainers after all," Mina declared. "And Exeggutor Island is a pretty crazy place…"
"Ha, that's true! There are some crazy critters on that island!" The chief agreed. "It's one thing for a trainer to go, but if you're not a trainer, you should just trust your friends to take care of this task for you."
"But…." Lillie began to protest, before considering what was said. She wasn't a trainer. And if the place was as dangerous as Mina and the chief were saying, she would most likely be deadweight. "Emma, Kitty…."
Kitty grabbed Lillie's hands. "Don't worry. We can handle this."
"And we'll be back before you even know it!" Emma chimed in with a smile.
"You're right," Lillie conceded. "I'm sure you two, Incineroar, and Primarina can handle it better than anyone else could. I'll wait here for you to come back!"
"And while we're waiting for them...I'll make you model for a picture, Lillie!" Mina added in. Emma and Kitty quickly jumped into the chief's boat and rode off, Lillie waving them off.
It was pouring rain when the girls arrived. Sure enough, the island was full of Alolan Exeggutor all freely moving about.
"Hah….here we are at Exeggutor Island!" The chief announced as Emma helped Kitty off the boat. "I heard this place used to be a trial sight, though that was a long time ago." He then looked around, noticing how wild the Exeggutor were. "Hm? Looks like the fellows are even more worked up than usual. Eh. But they're always a noisy bunch. It's probably fine. You two go on. Good on! I'll be waitin' for when you two finish."
"Any idea where the flute would be?" Kitty asked her sister.
"If I had to guess, I'd say the top of the island," Emma rationalized as she pointed towards the top of said island. "But I don't see a ladder."
"Then how do we get up?" Kitty asked.
"If I had to guess, we're going to have to find out why the Exeggutors are going so crazy," Emma said. Splitting up, the girls started to look over the Exeggutors to see if they could spot the reason.
"Wait, I think I see the problem!" Kitty called out as she pointed towards a Pinsir biting the Exeggutor. She then grabbed one of her Pokéballs. "Lycanroc! Get that Pinsir off the Exeggutor!"
"Lycan!" Lyrcanroc went on the attack, drawing Pinsir away from the Exeggutor.
"Incineroar! You do the same!" Emma yelled out as she sent out her starter. The Pinsirs were quickly knocked out, causing the Exeggutors to calm down.
"Oh! I guess the bugs were annoying them into freaking out!" Kitty realized.
"Uh, hey!" Emma called out to the Pokémon. "Listen, we're trying to get to the top of the island, so could you help us?" As if on cue, one of the Exeggutor walked over to the cliffside. "Huh. Didn't think that would work!"
"Well let's just be glad it did!" Kitty pointed out as they walked over to the cliff. One by one, the Exeggutor lifted the girls to the next level. "Thank you!" From there, the girls made their ways further up until they reached a small pedestal with a flute on it.
"I think this is the Moon Flute!" Emma said as she grabbed it. The rain promptly stopped. "Oh, yeah, NOW the rain stops!"
"Emma look!" Kitty exclaimed as she pointed towards a large rainbow. "Tell me that doesn't make all the rain worth it!"
"Okay...maybe it does," Emma sheepishly admittedly. "Now, let's get back to Lillie."
Lillie and Mina were waiting on the dock for the girls to return. Lillie started waving to them.
"Welcome back, girls!" Lillie greeted them.
"Now you've got to play those flutes up at the altar, I guess," Mina explained in the best way she could. "The altar can be found in the deepest part of the Vast Poni Canyon."
"Those Exeggutor sure took a liking to you," The chief noted. "You two have clearly got something important in you, as a trainer, if Pokémon like you that much." Lillie nodded while the Pelipper let out a cry.
"Let's get moving!" Emma declared. Mina waved the group off as they headed back into the wilderness.
"Do you guys have anyone better to annoy!?" Emma exasperatedly whined. A large group of Team Skull grunts were blocking the way to Vast Poni Canyon.
"What is it you want from us?" Lillie asked, trying to keep things diplomatic for as long as she could. One grunt stood up.
"I heard about you numbskulls at Aether. Do you really know how to open an Ultra Wormhole and save our boy Guzma?!" He demanded.
"Lemme see if you really are bad to the bone enough to save our boy Guzma!" A female grunt barked as she challenged Kitty, who made short work of her team.
"That proof enough for ya?" Kitty tauntingly asked.
"Okay, no bones about it-you're way stronger than me!" The grunt exclaimed before running off.
"Doesn't matter!" The first grunt snapped as the other grunts all stood up. "We'll come after you with all our Pokémon at once then, li'l home slice! We'll give 500 percent to save our boy, Guzma!"
"Bring it!" Emma challenged as she grabbed her Pokéballs. Once again, she and Kitty were able to wipe the floor with them. The grunt looked at the ground before turning to Emma and Kitty.
"I may have lost, but listen up, yo! Please save Guzma for us!" The grunt begged.
"You dummies. They're saving to save the boss, so what do you wanna get in their way for!?" Everyone looked over to the cliff, seeing Plumeria sitting there. She had been watching the whole time. Once she came over, she sent the grunts off before turning back to the trainer sisters and Lillie. "Hmmph. You, girlie...Lillie, right?" Lillie just nodded. "You really ready to do this finally?" She then looked away. "To be honest, I've treated you really badly. Even if I was just doing the work the president told me to do, I shouldn't have done all that. Even if I apologized now, I know it's probably too late for you to forgive me, though."
"Plumeria…" Lillie trailed off as she turned away fully.
"See, Guzma...he really likes the president. She's the only adult who ever seemed to see how strong he was," Plumeria admitted.
"The president…" Lillie couldn't finish her thought. Kitty put her hand on Lillie's shoulder. Lillie nodded. "My mother is-she's selfish. She decides all by herself what she thinks needs to be done to make other people happy, not even caring what it is they may want…" Lillie then looked at Emma and Kitty, both of whom smiled at her. "But people ought to help one another out! That is what I have learned here in Alola! And that is what I'm going to teach her, too. Then I think we can save Mr. Guzma!"
"You know...deep down, you're kind of like the president," Plumeria said as she turned back to the girls. "You've gone in a different direction, but I can tell you have the same strength in your convictions. Emma...Kitty...Lillie...I know you've got no reason to help, but..but could you help us save Guzma?"
"Look, as annoying as you guys are, nobody deserves to get trapped in that place," Emma replied. "We're gonna save both of them."
"That big dummy...I don't even think he's aware of it, but...Alola really means a lot to him," Plumeria said. "That's why he's doing something so reckless to try to save it." She pulled two crystals out of her pocket. "The Poison-type Z-Crystal...maybe it'll help you somehow." She then handed two Poisonium Z-Crystals to the sisters.
"I was wondering where these were!" Kitty exclaimed as she took one.
"I guess giving you this Z-Crystals is also kind of, what did you call it, helping each other?" Plumeria asked. "Oh yeah...you two got your first stone directly from Tapu Koko, didn't you, girls?"
"Yeah, we did," Emma admitted. "Did all of Alola hear about that?"
"It wasn't hard to learn about it," Plumeria said. "You'd better take care of it. That's one special Z-Power Ring you've got there. A Trainer is only a trainer because of the Pokémon with them. If you ever forget that, you'll bring the wrath of the Tapu down upon yourselves. You two should be fine, though...I'm out of here." She then walked off.
"I suppose even Team Skull is not all bad…" Lillie said.
"I guess so," Emma admitted. Maybe she had just misjudged the team…
"Thanks for helping me," Lillie said to the girls. "And here, let me thank your team, too!" Emma and Kitty then handed their Pokéballs over to Lillie, who quickly healed them.
"Thanks Lillie," Emma said. "Now, let's get to the altar."
"Yeah! Vast Poni Canyon, here we come!" Kitty declared as she pointed towards the canyon. The girls all grinned as they headed towards the canyon.
Off to knock off Victory Road we go! Next time, we'll be making our way through Vast Poni Canyon. I'll see you then!
