So, like I said last time, it's time for Emma and Kitty's final trial. And I think since Kitty started it, I think Emma should be the one to end it.
"So where do you think Hapu is?" Kitty asked once Emma finished up with Mina's trial.
"I'm not sure," Emma admitted. "But I think we should try asking around. After all, we need to find her to have our final trial."
"And her first!" Kitty reminded her sister, causing her to laugh. Both girls silently agreed to ask the Chief first, since he seemed to know where most of the residents of Seafolk Village lived.
"Um, excuse us?" Emma asked him once they reached his boat. "Do you know where Hapu is? We need to find her for our Grand Trials."
The chief smiled. "Little Hapu is out on Exeggutor Island. You want to go and meet her?"
"Yes!" Kitty cheered.
"Alright. The S.S. Margikarp will have you there, and you'll think you're sailing in a dream!" The chief promised the girls as they hopped into the boat.
"Here ya are! Exeggutor Island!" The chief declared once they arrived. Emma and Kitty hopped out. "You go on. Good luck!"
"Thank you!" Kitty thanked him as she and Emma headed inland. They already had a basic idea as to where Hapu was: the top of the island. Sure enough, they found her at the shrine where the flute had been.
"Do you want to try to take me and my Pokémon on at our full strength?" Hapu asked before either sister could even speak.
"Only if you'll take on mine," Emma replied, hands on her Pokéball.
"Then allow me to show you the power of the kauhan chosen by Tapu Fini itself!" Hapu declared as an Exeggutor stood behind her, as if to guard the battle. "I am Kahuna Hapu! And with the Sparkling Stone entrusted to me by the tapu, I have made this Z-Power ring! Emma. Having Z-Power Rings as we do means that we battle with the tapu besides us! This is the first grand trial of Kahuna Hapu! I will battle with everything that I have got!"
"Then allow me to be the best first challenge you could hope for!" Emma declared as both girls sent out their first Pokémon: Emma's Lurantis and Hapu's Golurk. "Lurantis! Petal Blizzard!" The attack landed, but the Golurk didn't fall.
"Golurk, Shadow Punch," Hapu ordered.
"Lurantis! Dodge!" Emma called out. Lurantis tried to get out of the way, but Golurk was far too big, so Lurantis took the brunt of the damage, but remained standing. "Okay, okay! I know that hurt, but you have to keep fighting! Leaf Blade!" Lurantis attacked again, barely managing to deal enough damage to knock Golurk out.
"Flygon, go," Hapu said as she tossed out the dragon type. This time, Flygon came out. A quick Dragon Breath and Lurantis had fallen.
"Golisopod! Let's do this!" Emma cheered as she sent out the Bug type. "Now, First Impression!"
"GOL!" Golisopod roared as it attacked, slamming into Flygon.
"Earth Power," Hapu said simply. The attack landed, but Golisopod did not falter.
"Liquidnation," Emma called out. This time, Golisopod managed to knock out Flygon.
"Not bad…" Hapu admitted. "But this battle still hasn't ended." She then sent out Gastrodon.
"Damn it! Lurantis would be great right now!" Emma thought to herself. "Incineroar won't do anything, Lycanroc doesn't have any useful moves, Mudsdale is in the same boat...that's it!"
"VIKA!" Vikavolt cried as it entered the field. Emma had decided that it had the best chance of beating the Gastrodon
"Energy Ball!" Emma said with a smile. Hapu smiled. She didn't know what Emma was planning, but she was smart. Gastrodon's 4x weakness worked against it, knocking it out almost instantly.
"Well done...but I have one last surprise!" Hapu revealed as she sent out her Mudsdale. Then she activated her Z-Ring. "Mudsdale, unleash your power with your Z-Move: TECTONIC RAGE!"
"DALE!" Mudsdale roared as it attacked, knocking Vikavolt out instantly. But Emma was ready.
"Golisopod, let's finish this!" Emma ordered as she sent Golisopod back out, before activating her own Z-Ring. "Golisopod, unleash your power with your Z-Move: HYDRO VORTEX!"
"GOLISOPOD!" Golisopod roared as it used it's own Z-Move, finishing Mudsdale off.
Hapu nodded her head in approval. "You have succeeded in your final grand trial!" She then handed Emma her Groundium Z crystal, before showing her the dance to use it. "HYAH!" The Exeggutor all went wild, as did Kitty. "Phew...you are undoubtedly a prodigious trainer, Emma!"
"Um...what about me?" Kitty asked.
"You are as well," Hapu assured her. "In the past, any trainer who completed the island challenge would make a pilgrimage to Mount Lanakila to battle the kahunas once more. In these battles alone, the kahunas would no longer hold back in any way. But this year, you two will face a different sort of final trial upon Mount Lanakila. That will be your next destination, but first, let me battle your sister first."
"Let's go!" Kitty cheered. After waiting a bit for Hapu to heal her Pokémon and for her Z-Ring to recharge, both girls dove into battle. Kitty was able to win with some difficulty, impressing Hapu yet again.
"Now, let us return to Poni Island," Hapu said as she handed Kitty her Z-Ring as they walked back to the S.S. Magikarp.
"The new final trial awaits you two upon Mount Lanakila," Hapu reminded both girls upon their return to Seafolk Village. "You can begin your trek up Mount Lanakila from Tapu Village on Ula'ula Island. With that, Hapu walked off. Both girls hopped on their Ride Charizards and flew towards Ula'ula.
