Author's note: I do not own any of these characters I just enjoy writing and watching Magnum P.I. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy!

The fierce wind whipped saltwater into Juliet Higgins face as the 8.4-million-dollar yacht bounced like a dingy on the open ocean.

"How much longer are we going to be out here, Magnum?" Juliet shouted over the waves crashing along the side of the boat.

It had been hours already and she was itching to go back to Robin's Nest. The waves rocked the boat and slowly water began to gather across the deck from sea spray.

"Only a little bit longer, my client said he had to meet us…somewhere out here." Thomas called back, gesturing to the ocean.

He had been tying off the ropes and was now making his way back to his chair that was currently stationed next to Higgins at the helm of the boat.

"Somewhere! Magnum, you are so ignorant. Did you listen to your client at all?" Higgins asked, throwing her hands into the air expressing her frustration.

"Yes, I did, and he said somewhere out here. He didn't specify where, he just said out here."

Magnum retorted, feigning hurt.

Juliet sighed and gazed out at the ocean. It was so beautiful, and she wanted to stay there forever. The way the sun shone on the waves as they moved in every direction was breathtaking, but Magnum was never going to know that. He was way too concerned with other things and not the simple beauty of the ocean. A radio transmission shook her out of her thoughts.

"Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! This is the Highlander requesting emergency assistance at-"

The line cut out and Magnum and Higgins were both on their feet now waiting for a clue to where the Highlander was. After all, finding things was Magnum's strong suit. Magnum having enough of waiting snatched the radio transmitter and replied.

"This is the T.R Belle responding to the emergency request we need to know where you are to help."

There was no reply. Then the radio buzzed to life again and the gruff voice once again could be heard on the line.

"Assistance needed north of the Molokai channel. The boat is about to sink." The voice didn't sound scared it almost sounded like it didn't care that they were sinking just that Magnum and Higgins arrive.

"We'll be there soon just hang tight." Thomas said, concern painted his face.

"Let's go." He stated and with that Higgins gripped the steering wheel and turned north.

Upon arriving at the location, they did indeed see a dot on the horizon. Thinking it was the sinking ship, they headed straight for it. When they got closer the boat looked microscopic compared to the T.R Belle and if it had occurred to Magnum at the moment he and Higgins wouldn't be in this mess.

The first thing he noticed was there was no water in the boat. He shared his thoughts out loud receiving a "Wow what a private investigator, you are." from Higgins. His guard went up immediately, but nothing could have prepared him for what was about to happen. Two men in their late forties emerged from the cabin of the Highlander.

Both had guns in their hands and what Thomas could only assume in their waistbands as well. With guns pointed at Magnum and Higgins, the smaller of the two began to speak and Higgins recognized it as the gruff voice on the radio from earlier.

She couldn't help but flinch at the cold and icy tone of his voice, receiving a strange look from Magnum who had clearly heard that tone before.

"I'm Eddie and this is Mike. I'm glad you answered our call now give us your boat!" Eddie demanded, pointing his gun directly at Higgins head.

The demand and force in his voice made Higgins recoil backwards but the thought of Eddie and Mike stealing the T.R Belle wanted to make her laugh. She compromised and bit her lip to stop from chuckling out loud.

"It's not mine to give so bugger off, you incompetent r-"Before Juliet could finish her insult a shot rang out and time froze.

"Higgins!" Magnum yelled, rushing towards her. A peaceful feeling had come over Juliet and she couldn't explain why.

"How bad is it, Magnum? Tell the truth." She asked, trying to not succumb to the shock.

"You're going to be fine, Higgy, it hit you in the shoulder just stay with me." Thomas practically begged. She was drifting and as hard as she tried to stay awake she couldn't and soon enough Magnum and the blue sky faded into the inky darkness.

Thomas kneeled beside Higgins as she closed her eyes. His fear for her turned to searing anger. He stood; his feet planted firmly on the deck. He rushed at the men now boarding the yacht. Pulling his gun from his waistband he took a shot at Eddie. All his anger was directed at him and when the shot hit its target, he felt the anger subside a little.

Eddie's body collapsed onto the deck a few feet away from Higgins. Mike watched as Eddie fell to the deck and lay still. His body shook in anger and he raised his gun at Magnum's chest as Magnum raised his gun at Eddie's heart.

Two shots rang out.

Time stopped and there was a short bemusing second that Thomas actually thought he caught the bullet that was barreling towards him, but the pain that followed eliminated that idea immediately. His breath caught in his chest.

He stared down in surprised fascination at the blood gushing from the bullet wound. He heard Mike's body collapse next to Eddie. Higgins still lay a few feet away, unconscious. If he could just get to her to make sure she was ok. He stumbled forward and ended up on his knees next to her.

He sucked in a small raspy breath and felt a wet rattle in his chest. His vision swam and he pitched forward next to Higgins. On the verge of consciousness, he had only one thought running through his head. Who's gonna tell Rick and T.C I'm dead?" And with that he closed his eyes, focusing on his other senses.

They shock was getting to him and he couldn't help but wonder if Higgins was going to be alright. The sounds of a boat approaching met his ears. Someone yelled his name, their voice muffled as he slipped into unconsciousness.

"Magnum!"
