Chapter 1: Shu the Antagonizer

September 1881

*Valt is coming home from school, and encounters someone similar of his age. He goes up to greet the young man*

Valt: "Hey, I haven't seen you around here before. Have you recently moved in?"

Unknown Young Man: "I'm actually on my way to meet my new family. My dad died recently and this family has decided to accept me."

Valt: "Oh, well I hope everything goes well with that. See you around!" *Valt runs off to the mansion*

'Thirty minutes later'

Kento: "Valt, come on down! I'd like you to meet someone."

Valt: "I'm coming!" Valt pauses his homework and jumps off his bed, and runs down the stairs to the entrance of the mansion.

Kento: "Valt, I want to introduce you to someone that is going to be a new addition to our family. His father saved my life many years ago, and he died recently. I've taken in his son since I owe him a great debt. Valt, meet Shu Kuranei."

Valt: "You're that kid from earlier. I had no idea you're the son of that guy that we owed."

Shu: "Well I am. What's your name?"

Valt: "I'm Valt Aoi, and I welcome you into our home."

Shu: "A welcome isn't necessary. 'Father', could you get someone to fetch my bags to my room?"

Kento: "Of course. Valor! Come get Shu's bags and carry them up to his room!"

Valor: "Right away sir!"

*Valor picks up Shu's bags and proceeds to carry them up the stairs slowly*

Valt: "By the way dad, I could really use some help on my homework."

Kento: "Not now, son. I have to help Shu get settled in."

*Kento goes up the stairs as well as Shu, Shu giving Valt a creepy glare*

Valt: "What's up with that guy? He's kinda creepy."

*Valt walks up the stairs and continues to do his homework*

'A few days later in the front yard of the mansion'

Valt: "Shu, you gotta meet our dog! Come here!"

*Shu proceeds to walk down the few stairs of the entrance and to Valt*

Shu: "Name?"

Valt: "His name is JoJo. He's a really energetic dog!"

*Shu remains silent, watching Valt play with the dog*

Valt: "You wanna pet him?"

Shu: "I'm good."

*Shu smiles sinisterly, and walks off*

Valt (Mind): What is up with this guy? He's really strange. Guess he's not very familiar with how to act around other people.

*The next day in the afternoon*

Valt (Laying on his bed): A homework free day! I don't get those too often."

*Valt notices a note beside his bed*

Valt: "What is this?"

'Valt,

Maybe you should go check up on your dog.'

Valt: "This doesn't sound good."

*Valt leaves his room and goes down the stairs to go outside and finds JoJo in a pool of blood lying there dead*

Valt (running over to JoJo tearfully) : "JoJo!"

*Shu watches from behind the front door as Valt holds JoJo, despite JoJo being all bloody. Valt running towards the front door, Shu leaves to go do something else*

*A few hours later*

Kento: "It's a shame something got to JoJo, but we can at least now remember him by this grave."

*Valt sniffles some, and tries to maintain a calm mood, Shu having a small smirk all the while*

Kento: "It's getting late, boys. Let's go back inside now."

*At school*

*People whispered amongst each other when Valt walked by them*

Valt (Thinking): This can't be good. Looks like someone might've spread a rumor about me.

*His usual friends Valt would speak to refused to talk to him*

Shu (Under his breath): "Looks like my rumor spread fast."

Valt: "What'd you just say!?"

Shu: "So it seems you've heard the rumor I've spread around about you killing your dog."

Valt: "How dare you!"

*Valt tries to land a punch on Shu. Shu stops the punch with his bare hand*

Shu: "Don't try that on me. Land one punch and you'll be getting it from Spriggan."

Valt: "Spriggan?"

Shu: "It's my Bey, Spriggan. I use Spriggan as a weapon to defend me, and trust me when I say Spriggan will tear you up if you try to hurt me."

*Valt, intimidated by Spriggan, walked off*

*At home during dinner*

Kento: "Valt, have some manners and stop slurping up the pasta all at once!"

*Valt stops slurping and his face turns red from embarrassment, Shu watching and giving a small smirk to it all*

*On the way home from school, Valt encounters two boys from his school bullying a girl, also from his school*

Boy #1: "A pretty necklace you got there, Krystal."

Boy #2: "That necklace of hers looks valuable!"

*The second boy swipes the necklace right off her neck*

Krystal: "Hey! My mom gave me that necklace! Give it back!"

Boy #1: "We could sell this off for quite a few shillings."

*Valt snuck behind a tree conveniently placed behind where the incident was happening. At the right moment, Valt threw a punch at the first boy*

Boy #1: "Don't try to be the hero, kid. You're only gonna get yourself into trouble."

*The first boy repeatedly throws punches at Valt, landing every single one. The second boy joins in soon after and they both land repeated punches to Valt. Krystal watches in horror as they finish punching him*

Boy #1: "That'll teach you not to mess with

us."

*The first boy spits on Valt, the second boy right after, as they walk off. Valt's face is all bloody, with a bloody nose as well as a beaten up face and a fractured right arm. Krystal walks over to Valt*

Krystal: "Are you okay?"

Valt: "I-*Cough*I'm fine, especially since I got your necklace back."

Krystal: "You managed to get it back? That's amazing! But first I want to get your injuries handled. What's your name?"

Valt: "V-Valt. I think my right arm might be broken, as it's in a great deal of pain."

*Krystal rips off a piece of her dress and wraps Valt's right arm in a sling. She wipes off Valt's bloody nose and helps him get home*

'At home'

*Kento had a Doctor come tend to Valt's injuries properly, especially his right arm*

Kento: "That was a brave thing you did, Valt, but you didn't have to do that."

Valt: "I know. I just hate when guys do dumb things like that."

*Shu watches from the stairs of the mansion, confused by Valt not being very upset of the whole incident*

Shu (Thinking): Looks like I'm gonna have to go harder with this.

*Valt had taken up boxing at school, and Shu had also shown interest and decided to start it, both for the fun of it and to eventually ruin Valt's reputation completely, as the rumor Shu has made up hadn't seemed to do much as it was shrugged off by others. A week after the incident with Valt, Shu got a chance to fight Valt in a boxing match*

Shu (Thinking): Now is my chance to finally ruin everything for him.

Boxing Ref: "Begin!"

*Valt throws the first punch, Shu attempting to block it but fails. Valt continues punching, Shu continuing to block and wasn't always successful. Shu eventually took action when it looked like he had lost, and punched Valt right in the gut*

Shu (Thinking): I've already won.

*Valt flinched for a split second, and Shu threw another punch, and kept throwing punches, each punch getting faster than the first one, until Valt eventually fell down, unable to fight*

Ref: "1!...2!...3! That's a Knock Out!"

*The crowd cheered for Shu, and Shu knew he had done it*

Shu (Thinking): Now's my chance.

Shu: "Hey everyone! Don't trust Valt here. He'll rat you out if you try to tell him to keep a secret!"

*Due to his newfound popularity, people actually believed him this time*

Classmate: "I'll make sure not to ever hang out with Valt anymore."

Classmate #2: "Yeah me too!"

*Shu had gotten everyone who was at the boxing match to believe his little lie. It wouldn't be long before the whole school heard it. Shu had ruined Valt's social life*

'A few days later coming home from school'

Krystal: "Valt!"

Valt (Stopped walking and turned around): "Didn't you hear? I rat people out now."

Krystal: "Like I'd believe what Shu says. It's clear he takes a disliking to you."

Valt: "I know that. I don't understand why though. It's not like I have done anything to him to get him to dislike me."

Krystal: "Maybe you need to talk to him and find out."

Valt: "I guess I haven't tried that yet. Why don't you walk home with me?"

Krystal: "I guess I have the time to."

*Valt and Krystal get to know each other better as they walk, until they get to Valt's house*

Valt: "See you, Krystal!"

Krystal: "You too, Valt."

*Krystal and Valt became friends that day. From then on, they would hang out together, talking and sometimes eating lunch together. They became very good friends*

'One day while they were talking to each other on the way home from school'

Valt: "You told me there was something you had wanted to tell me."

Krystal: "Yeah, about that."

*Krystal stopped walking, Valt doing the same afterwards*

Krystal: "I have been wanting to tell you this for a while now. I am honestly nervous."

Valt: "What? What is it?"

Valt (Thinking): She definitely likes me.

Krystal (Takes a deep breath): "Valt Aoi, I...I like you. I have a crush on you kind of like."

Valt (Thinking in a cool voice): It was obvious the whole time.

*Valt hesitated from laughing since he knew she was going to say that, and was glad that he was right because he like her too*

Valt: "I like you like that too, Krystal."

*Krystal's face brightened up at the news. From then on, they were a couple, doing many of the fun things they used to do but did new things as a couple*

'One month later'

Valt: "See you tomorrow, Krystal."

Krystal: "See you tomorrow, Valt."

*Shu was watching from the top of the stairs, relieved he knew why Valt had been so happy for the past few months. Shu already knew what he was going to do*

'Thirty minutes later'

*Krystal was walking home after walking with Valt to his mansion. Out of nowhere she was kicked into a mud puddle right beside her*

Shu: "I knew there was a reason behind Valt's happiness. He's been way too happy these past few months."

*Shu had two guys with him, laughing at Krystal*

Krystal: "What do you want, Shu?"

Shu: "I got a question for your, Krystal: Have you had your first kiss with Valt yet?"

*Krystal stared angrily at Shu*

Krystal: "So what if I haven't yet?"

Shu: "Looks like I can take something to take away from Valt."

*Shu lifted Krystal up, and pushed her head into his, and pushed her mouth into his, kissing her*

Shu: "You thought your first kiss would be with Valt, but it was I, Shu!"

*The two guys supporting Shu cheered*

Shu: "Guess I'll let Valt know. He won't be very happy once he finds out."

*Shu and the two guys that were with him walked off*

'At the mansion'

*Someone knocks on the door, and Valt answers it. The person at the door was Shu*

Valt: "Shu? What have you been doing outside today?"

Shu: "Normally I would say it is none of your business, but it seems the situation would make it change. Krystal's first kiss? It wasn't you. I, Shu, am Krystal's first kiss!"

*Shu proceeded to push Valt onto the floor, Valt looking with horror*

Valt: "How could you!? Why do you hate me so much Shu!?"

Shu: "You still do not understand? I need to overthrow you and get your dad on his bad side so I get all the money when he dies! I will become the Aoi successor! Not you, Valt!"

*Shu proceeds to throw a punch, Valt unprotected from it. Shu continued to throw punches over and over again*

Shu: "It's all over for you, Valt. I'll make sure you never get a pence of the fortune."

Valt: "That's where you're wrong, Shu."

*Valt had been sneaking his left foot into in between Shu's legs. Right after he said that, Valt kicked with his left foot. Shu fell onto the ground in excruciating pain, but refused to give up*

Shu: "I refuse to give up that easily!"

*Shu got his launcher out and launched Spriggan. Spriggan proceeded to bounce off the walls and right into the back of Valt, throwing Valt onto the ground and leaving a shallow cut*

Shu: "Must I repeat myself again? I'm getting the fortune money, not-"

*Spriggan slammed into Shu, throwing Shu into the ground this time*

Valt: "You underestimate my powers, Shu. Your evil won't be accepted here. You know, it is not that hard to ricochet Spriggan into your face. You're going down right here right now."

*Valt threw a punch, sending a small amount of blood into the wall, and making a small relic fall off the wall on which it was hung on. Before Valt could throw another punch, Kento yells at them from upstairs*

Kento: "Valt! How dare you punch someone when they're defenseless on the ground. Boys will be boys, and you'll fight, but you must know your limits. Both of you go to your rooms right now."

*Valt and Shu both went to their rooms as ordered. Valt knew he had won the fight against Shu, and hoped Shu would not antagonize him anymore*

'The next day at night'

*Shu had went into town that night. He was thinking of a few things*

Shu (Thinking): That relic on the wall. It was only a slight feeling, but I know that Spriggan had a more powerful presence towards it. Could it be something important? I need to look into this more.
