Boot camp had been a brutal but fulfilling 6 weeks for Harry and he was itching to fight. They were supposed to get sent to school of infantry (SOI) the next day when he was called to Major Hudson's office worried it was about the laxatives he and his friend Ben smith put in Sargent fox's coffee. When he got to the office the major was sitting at his desk and there was an unidentified captain looking out the window. He oddly enough had a long sword on his belt rather than the standard mameluke sword. Other than that he looked like any other marine officer. He said wait a minute corporal were just waiting for Johnson and williams. A couple of seconds later 2 men from golf company walked in. major hudson looks up and says morning gentlemen please have a seat so we may begin. The captain turned around and said what do you three know about magic? Sir? Say who Harry thinks might be johnson. There's no need to pretend to be private We already know said the major just let the captain explain. The department of magic keeps track of all non magical people who know about magic. it's mostly oblivator to know if they need to obliviate someone but we are using it for something else here. 9 months later 9th of november 1942 paris islandThey were on the parade ground in formation looking at Captain Pauling (captain from the office) he was giving the graduation speech to the E company 1st raiders. "...for nine months you have trained, some have quit but you have persevered! You have trained to be lethal killers, you are the best of the best, you are marine raiders! In three day we ship out to help are boys on guadalcanal! The next two day are leave but don't get too drunk." the men laughed at that.
The men spent the next two nights partying and dancing with the nurses. Harry doesn't remember anything that happened those two day but when he awoke the day before he shipped out he woke up surrounded in a hotel bed by six nurses and a secretary.
3 months later 28th of january 1943"Run quick" "the japs are trying to run" bullets whizzed by Harry and his squad take cover. They and the rest of the E company are trying to stop the japanese from advocating as many troops as possi… harry's thoughts were cut off as a bullit wizard by and took a chunk of his ear with it another one nicked his helmet causing him to trip and fall in a fox hole dazed harry looks around suddenly the captijn jumps in the hole next to him tommy gun blazing saying "get up potter common!" Harry shakes himself off and gets up, puts a new clip into his garand and follows Pauling as the advance. As night falls they get in holes Harry checks to make sure his squad is fine. Harry and Johnson take one foxhole, Williams and Riley take the foxhole to their left while Harrison is up closer to the front with his bazooka incase of a jap tank attack. He's with boys from A company, Thomas and Fischer are to harrys right and Rossi is helping Howard carry wounded back to the aid station. Suddenly the captain comes out of the trees to their left and tells Harry to gather his squad. Harry sends Riley to go find Rossi and Howard while Fischer goes to get harrison. When Harrison gets back they have him replace his bazooka with charges the captain is taking Harry and his squad to destroy as much of the enemy equipment as possible. 5 minutes later they are ready.
As there moving quietly through the jungle they see a download american fighter thomas goes to check if the pilots alive but pauling stops him and picks up a rock and throws it in the cockpit and sets off the boobytrap "be careful the japs probably have this hole god forsaken island set with traps" pauling tells the squad. Suddenly a shot goes off Riley falls "sniper everyone get down" yells pauling the squad hits the deck. Did anyone see where that came from, Harry whispers. I think from the tree's on the right says williams ok whispers the captain i'm going to distract him rossi once you see him take the shot "ok" says rossi he shuts the bolt on his springfield "im ready". Pauling lifts his helmet on a stick from behind the rock he was behind and two shots are fired and a japanese sniper falls from one of the trees. "Howard check riley thomas check the jap but be careful there could be more of them" yelled pauling. "Rileys dead sir" says howard "the japs dead too capitan" calls thomas from the woods. "Ok barry riley and then let's keep moving it's almost sunrise" says the captain. Nothing else happens as they get to the makeshift port the japanese have set up. "Potter takes out the guard quietly" after taking out the guard they move into the fenced area they quickly find what they're looking for. "Hear Harrison plant the charges on those fuel tanks then were getting out of hear" says the captain quietly. Harrison does as they are told and the squad pulls back to base as soon they hear a large explosion. "There goes the charges," says fischer.
After the mission the squad is put in the rear for a break the next day the same day the japanese compleat there withdraw just before sunset the captain comes in to the mess tent and says "potter come over hear" "what sir" "sargent you are being promoted lieutenant james was killed in today's fighting you are new acting lieutenant effective immediately. "Sir yes sir".
