Enjoy this update! Thank you so much to those who have reviewed, means so much. I actually read them and take your criticism seriously. Also, let me know if you guys actually care about Alicia and Spud's relationship/friendship.. Let me know if you guys like Alicia at all. I made her to bring out the other characters personalities more and to bring back some characters like Brad. I didn't know how else to incorporate Brad into the story. Ik OCs are a complicated thing when it comes to fanfics since they're not in the show. Though this is my fanfiction, you can still positively affect it :)
If you read all that, YOU'RE AMAZING

Jake woke up the next morning feeling refreshed; happy he was no longer a girl. 24 hours had past and he had a skip in his step. He made it to the bathroom and smiled in the mirror. He watched his reflection as his smile faded. His hair fell flat a bit below the ears and his face was still feminine. He touched his features, hoping it was a dream.
"No, this isn't right . . ." he mumbled to himself, hearing his higher pitched voice. "The spell . . ."
He slowly walked down the stairs after getting ready and stuck a fork in his hand. Of course, he changed his hand into its dragon form so it wouldn't leave a mark and it would hurt less. He cringed in pain, not waking up out of this nightmare. Jake groaned and sat on a kitchen chair. Not a dream.
He texted Trixie what happened and told her to bring clothes for him if she could. Looks like there was going to have to be another day of Jackie.
Jake was honestly so upset. His rage was towards Carol. That witch! Quite literally. She turned him into a girl and he didn't return back to normal like she said. He texted Alicia, trying to remain calm and told her to tell her mom the spell didn't go the way she told him.
Alicia responded quickly, She said to tell you she meant 72 hours. And she said "Whoops". Sorry Jake
Jake slid down his chair. Another day of being teased. Another day of being called "her". Another day of boobs. Another day of Jackie.
Jake walked to school in a royal blue tube top and black leggings followed by a white jean jacket. Jake just wanted a hoodie and some "girl pants" but Trixie decided to have fun with picking his clothes, like he was a doll.
"It's not so bad Jake, quit whinin'," Trixie told him. "You look good."
"Yeah, I do. I'll give you that, Trix. But I'm not a girl! This isn't me." He slouched. "I just wanna go back to normal. Plus, I hate lying to everyone."
"It's two more days, can't be that bad."
Spud was already at their lockers as if he were waiting for them. "Hey, Trixie," he said casually. "Hey, Jake- Jake?"
"Keep your voice down! People don't know it's him," Trixie shushed.
"My bad, just wasn't expecting him to still be a guy," Spud huffed.
"God, I hate this," Jake groaned.
Spud reassured, "At least you're-"
"Spud, I swear if you call me hot," Jake exasperated.
Trixie rolled her eyes. "It'll last for the rest of the day. After tomorrow you'll be fine. Stop actin' like a big baby."
The day went by uneventful. Alicia showed up late, Jake acted like a new student, Spud and Trixie made fun of him once in awhile. Things were as normal as they could get in a situation such as this one. Every hour that went by was an hour closer to being a guy again. Another hour Jake grew more happy.
Until he saw her.
A tall, pale girl stepping out of an the main office. Blonde hair swaying back and forth after each step. Blue eyes staring right at him. No way she was here. Did she recognize him?
Jake smiled and went to open his mouth before she interrupted, "Excuse me, do you know where the front entrance is? I was just there now I forgot."
"Rose?" Jake asked in amazement, completely ignoring her question. She was ever so beautiful with her hair in pigtails resting on her shoulders.
"How do you know my-?" She glanced at her papers then back at Jake. "Oh, you read my transcript. Yeah, I'm Rose. New here."
Why was she acting so casual? Didn't they have the fight of their life the other day? "Why are you here? How's your dad?"
Her face grew to look sad. "You know about my dad? Guess word travels around quick. He died this weekend." Rose sniffled, a tear falling down. "Didn't even get to say goodbye in time."
Jake felt immense guilt. His hand rubbed her back. "I'm so sorry, Rose."
She wiped the singular tear. "I'm fine. Do you know where the front is?"
"Uh, yeah," Jake began to walk her there. "I can't believe you're here, Rose. I'll make it up to you, I swear."
The two stopped at the front entrance. She titled her head. "It's fine! You don't have to make up anything up, uh, what's your name again?"
Jake's expression fell. All this time he thought she knew who he was. This short time walking down the halls he thought she was happy to talk to him once more. Yet, this whole time he forgot he's a girl. He could tell her the truth since she's aware of the magical realm, but what happens after? The very thought of her never speaking to him again once she found out who he was worried Jake so much.
"I'm Jackie," he said.
Rose smiled sweetly. This Jackie character was a bit strange to her, saying things like "I'll make it up to you", but she seemed sweet. "See you, Jackie. Nice meeting you." She waved as she walked out.
Though Jake was disappointed she didn't recognize him in the slightest, he was still happy. Happy she talked to him. Wow, she finally spoke to him again!
Someone tapped him. He gasped, "Trix, you scared me."
"We've been waiting for you so we can walk home together." She noticed he was still staring at the front doors. "Who was that?" she asked.
"You'll never believe it," he squealed. "Rose!"
"Rose?"
"Yes! I finally got to talk to her again."
Trixie smiled. "That's great, Jakey. Glad y'all made up."
"Yeah . . ."
She raised an eyebrow, suspicious. "You made up, right?"
No answer.
"Jake?"
"Okay, not exactly."
"Jake!"
"She didn't recognize me." He sighed, "Her father . . . he's dead. I didn't want to make things about myself again."
Trixie frowned. "I see. That must be rough, I get it. When things cool down I'm sure things will be okay once again."
Jake smiled a bit. "Thanks, Trix."
The next day, Jake was still a girl. Alicia insisted she'd dress him that day but Jake knew all her wardrobe contained was skirts and dresses based on Harajuku fashion. He was not wearing that.
Trixie dressed him in a yellow long sleeve tucked into brown plaid pants. He sighed in the beginning of his first class as he thought, Trixie just can't give me any comfortable clothes, can she?
He gasped once Rose walked into the class. She introduced herself as several people whispered in the background. Her top was bright pink with tiny yellow flowers and navy blue jeans. Jake stared at her with love and didn't hear a thing she said. He didn't have to. He knew Rose.
"Pick a seat," the teacher said.
Jake shot up his hand. "There's a seat near me," he called out.
Rose smiled. "I'll sit there." She took the seat next to him and waved sweetly. Jake waved back with trembling features.
The teacher took attendance. "Jackie, they still don't have your name on the list."
Jake scratched the back of his head nervously. "Must be a glitch. I'll ask after school what's going on about that."
The teacher nodded. He called out, "Jake? Is Jake here?"
Silence.
He checked off his list. "Absent again," he mumbled.
Rose leaned over and whispered, "Jake is in this class?"
"Uh, apparently." Jake lied, "I don't really know anyone. I'm new, too."
"Really? When?"
"S-Since Monday."
Rose nodded, actually believing his bad lying.
"So, who's this Jake guy?" he asked, curious on how she'd describe him.
"He's my . . . We were close."
"Were?"
"Yeah. Stuff happened."
Jake didn't like the response, but he didn't hate it either. Jake knew Rose wasn't the type to spill her or someone else's business easily.
She continued, "Now that I think about it, you kind of look like him."
Jake immediately began to sweat, playing with his collar. "Me? Look like him? No way- I'm a girl."
"No, no, no! I didn't mean it like that." Rose blushed. "I meant you remind me of him, that's all."
Jake paused. "Is that a good thing?"
"Yeah. It is."
Jake skipped home happy with his friends. He hadn't seen Rose the rest of the school day but that one interaction was enough. Trixie noticed her friend's new behavior. "What happened, Jackie?"
Jake frowned. "Jake. And what do you mean? I'm good."
"Exactly. You look too good for someone who's been a girl and lyin' all day. What made you so happy?"
Spud chimed in, "She does have a point. Did you and Rose patch up?"
"Kind of . . ."
Alicia grinned. "That's great!"
"Nope," Trixie squinted at him. "He's lyin'. I know it." The four stopped walking. Trixie walked forward towards Jake. He backed up nervously. She asked, "Did you actually tell her who you are?"
He knew he couldn't keep it up. "No. I didn't."
She groaned, "Jake! You gotta tell her who you are or nothin' will get betta. Plus, you only got today to be a girl. So either way you have to talk to her."
"I know. Trix, I know."
Everyone was silent. Spud looked around. Everyone looked tense. "Hey, how about we head over to the skate park then get something to eat?"
Trixie's shoulders relaxed. "Sure."
I only have today, Jake thought. He began to run the opposite direction. "I'll catch up with you guys. I forgot something at, um, G's place."
"Isn't that the wrong way?" Spud asked.
Trixie knew he was up to no good. The other two didn't give it a second thought and began to walk away.
Jake made it to Alicia's and could only hope her mom was home. He knocked three times. Sure enough, Carol opened the door, her hair dripping wet and a towel over her body. Jake looked away instantly, flustered.
"Oh, American Dragon, you always catch me at a bad time." She smirked. "Or should I call you Jackie instead?"
He ignored her snarky remark. "I need your help."
"Hm? My help? I thought you were mad at me." She fake pouted.
"I am- I mean, was." He exhaled. "You see, there's this girl-"
"I don't do love potions for free, baby."
"No," he shook his head, "I need you to keep me a girl. Just for awhile."
She raised an eyebrow. "Was not expecting that. Come in." Jake walked in and watched Carol take a seat. He took one, too. "So what you're saying is you want me to keep you a girl? Seriously?"
"Temporarily."
"It's no fun if you want me to cast a spell, though."
Jake huffed. He was desperate. "I'll pay you."
"No need for that. Just tell me why. But if it's not interesting, you're definitely paying me."
"It is interesting, trust me." She must be really bored.
After explaining everything Jake went to the skate park, pretending nothing happened. The next morning he wore his own hoodie and moved the hood over his head. He ran through the kitchen so his parents wouldn't catch him.
"Jake?" his mom called. "Aren't you gonna eat breakfast?"
He tried to make his voice as deep as possible. "No, mom. I'm going to Trixie's, bye!"
His mom found that suspicious. Jonathan thought it was fine. "Glad to see our son is our son again," he said.
Jake knocked on Trixie's door and waited for her to answer. She opened the door still in pajamas. "Jake? It's kind of early- Why are you still a girl?"
He spoke quickly, "Mess up with the potion, can I borrow some clothes?" He tried to walk in. Trixie blocked his path.
"Tell. Me. The. Truth."
"I may or may not have asked Alicia's mom to keep me a girl." Trixie's face morphed into anger. "Temporarily!"
"I bet this is for Rose, isn't it?"
Jake didn't respond.
"Boy, do you ever fucking listen to me?" She poked his chest after every word.
Jake held the spot she poked. "Ow!"
"When will you learn?" She sucked her teeth. "Y'know what, I don't have to deal with this." Trixie began to close the door.
"Wait!"
She peeked out and asked angrily, "What?"
"I didn't even eat breakfast."
"I don't care." She continued to close the door. Jake stopped her with his hands.
He pouted, making his eyes glassy with fake tears. "Please?"
Trixie rolled her eyes and let him in. Damn, his girl version of himself was too cute.
She dressed Jake in blue sweatpants and a checkered T-shirt. Her herself was just wearing an orange hoodie and blue skinny jeans. She didn't speak to him the whole walk to school, he found that understandable. Alicia had a lot of questions on why he was still female and Spud didn't ask a single thing, afraid to get yelled at by Trixie again.
"Just know," Trixie replied to Alicia's questions, "that Jake did whatever he did because he's a pussy."
"That's kinda harsh to say to your best friend," Jake said.
"You're not my friend right now," she told him.
Jake figured she'd get over it. He grabbed his things and ran to the main office. He had a plan. And like he planned, Rose was in the office, receiving more papers for whatever reason. She walked out and saw "Jackie".
"Oh, hi. You seem to be everywhere," she joked.
He shrugged with a smile on his face. "Yeah, that's fair. Hey, um, Rose."
"Hm?"
"In the class we have together yesterday, history, do you wanna partner up for the project? I know you were gonna work alone but with me and you being the new girls I thought we could y'know, work together?"
Rose said, "Sure. I don't see why not. We should start right away, though."
"Really? We can work at my place."
"Okay."
As Rose walked away Jake thought about what he said. No way she could come over! That would give everything away. "Hold on, Rose. My home is messy. Yeah, messy! Can we work at your place instead?"
"I don't mind. We can walk together. Meet me in the front."
"Bet, I'll be there." He sighed a sigh of relief. "That was close." He felt a poke. It was Trixie; she scared him again. "You gotta stop doing that and just call my name, girl."
She looked really upset. Jake's expression softened. The girl began to speak, "Jake, I care about you. Yet you still lie."
"It's gonna be fine, Trix. I got this."
"But do you? You can't stay a girl and hide forever Jake- Jackie- whoever you are. It's truly like you're someone else." She began to walk to her class.
He facepalmed. The last thing he wanted was to hurt another girl close to him. "Don't be mad."
"Just tell the truth," was the last thing she said before she left.
Jake avoided his friends all day due to guilt. Was he really becoming another person? His trouble soon left his brain once he saw her. Rose. Looking at her was like seeing a flower bloom in the winter snow.
Rose's new home was an apartment on the second floor. She opened the door to a small place. "It's not much, sorry."
"It's fine." Jake couldn't help pity Rose's new life. More than anything he wanted his girlfriend/ex girlfriend to live in New York City once again, but not this way. He could tell her mom had to make ends meet immediately once the passing of her father occurred and find a cheap place to live.
"My mom's not home. I have snacks in the fridge if you want some."
"No, I'm good. Thanks."
She sat on the floor. "Great, then we can get started."
Jake sat across from her and picked up a notebook on the floor. It was already opened, showing a page of a child's drawing of a fairy. "What's this?"
Rose snatched it. "It's embarrassing."
"That's okay, don't be embarrassed," he said, smiling.
Rose smiled back. Jake's smile was contagious. "I loved fairies growing up. Wanted to be one."
Jake wish he could show her one now. He could show her hundreds, thousands if he wanted to. He thought about what Trixie said. It echoed through his head: "Just tell the truth."
Jake slowly let out an exhale. "Rose, I have to tell you something-"
"You're a good friend," she interrupted.
"Huh?"
"I said you're a good friend. I know we just met, but if feels like I've known you for a very long time."
That warmed his heart. More than anything he wanted to hug her, kiss her, make up. But was this really a good time?
"What were you saying earlier?" she asked him.
He covered it up, "It's not important."
"Yes it is. Anything you have to say is important."
Dang, that line usually worked. "Seriously, it's nothing."
Rose held his left hand with both of hers and leaned in. Her actions sent sparks through his body. "It's okay, don't be embarrassed."
Jake gave a goofy grin. "Using my words against me?"
"Yup."
She was so close. Jake couldn't even remember what he was going to tell her. Trixie's voice disappeared somewhere into the back of his head.
"So what was it?" Rose asked. She was clearly not giving up.
He said anything that would fit the moment, "I like girls?" It sounded more like a question.
"Same. Girls and guys."
Jake's eyes widened. He was not expecting that. "That's good to know," he replied in a hushed voice. She was even closer. Was she about to-?
She did. They shared a kiss. This wasn't supposed to happen. This wasn't part of the plan. Still, he couldn't let go. It felt so good; it's been so long. This was wrong and it felt so right to him. But it wasn't genuine to Jake. It was a kiss for Jackie, not Jake.
Jake finally pushed her off. "I can't."
"Why?" she asked, feeling flustered. "This is the first time I kissed a girl . . . I thought we were flirting, should I have asked?"
"No, no, I'm not a girl!" Jake stood up, frustrated. Frustrated at himself. Frustrated he even came here. He was even frustrated at Rose for moving on so quickly.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"I'm Jake, not Jackie!" His arms fell to his side. "There, I said it."
"Huh? How?" Rose stood up as well.
"A witch turned me into a girl, long story."
"No, I meant how could you lie?" she raised her voice.
"I wanted to tell you but I was afraid you'd never speak to me so I-"
"So you got me to kiss you? This is so humiliating! I really thought you . . . thought Jackie . . . Nevermind, just get out!" She pointed to the door.
Jake wanted to argue, fight for her, but there was no use. He figured to fucked up even worse this time. Jake left, on his way to get Carol to turn him back.
Rose slid down the wall, confused. Humiliated. Sad. She cried into her hands. No one knew she was bisexual. She thought she could trust Jackie. Jackie wasn't even a real person. After a few minutes she looked up, sniffling.
How could she let that happen?
How could she fall for Jake twice?
