Hello everyone it's me Cerberus and I am here to wish all the dads out there a happy Father's Day. As we all know being a parent is a difficult job and a great responsibility, so I just want to show my appreciation to all the hard working parents out in the world. Today let us show our respect and love for the dads out there, take care and I hope you have a great day with your families.
Father's Day
Blake: Uhh Carlos...?
Yang: What's going on here?
Yui: Mommy!
Kanna: Mama!
Carlos: Uhhh... surprise?
I know what you're thinking, why do a group of teenagers have two kids with them and why did these two girls just call Blake and Yang their moms? Well to answer that we need to back track about an hour or so to get a good grasp of the situation. Just hit the rewind button and I'm sure this will all make a lot more sense.

The day started off pretty much like any other, school was out for the day since there was a mandatory meeting between the staff so we found ourselves with some unexpected free time. Everyone I knew was busy today so I figured this would be a good chance for me to have some time to myself.
Jonathan was busy working on some new tech with Neo and Penny while team RWBY were having a day to themselves to hang out, team JNPR were busy training and Sun and Neptune went to the beach with the rest of their team( they literally had to drag Neptune by his legs just to get him to the bullhead ). Even team CFVY were out on an extended mission and wouldn't be back for another 2 days. Right now I was walking around Vale and taking in the sights while listening to my music. As I passed through the city I greeted some of the people as we exchanged hellos, it had been some time since I was in the city and the citizens opinion of me has gotten better. Back when Beacon fell almost everyone hated me because they believed that if the Atlesian military wasn't focused on me then they would've been better prepared to handle Cinder's plan of unleashing Grimm into the city. Now that the threat of Salem has ended and the world is at peace things have slowly gotten better, there is still some work that needs to be done but we are making strides.
Carlos: ( exhale ) So nice to have some peace and quiet every now and then. I wish I could have more days like this.
I passed through the park as I saw several families having a picnic, there were signs everywhere and decorations as I grew curious about what was going on. When I got a better look I saw it was the annual Father's Day picnic that had been advertised over the last several weeks.
Carlos: ( That's right, it's Father's Day today. They did the same thing a while back for Mother's Day in this park. Time sure does fly when you least expect it. )
As I continued to walk I got a good look at all the families here enjoying themselves, I got to thinking about if I will experience something like this in the future. I then was called over by a family as they asked if I could take their picture, I agreed as they got closer together all with smiles on their faces.
Carlos: Say cheese.
The photo turned out great and as I said my goodbyes I continued on my way enjoying the gentle breeze and warm sunlight. Just as I passed by a small fountain I felt my head begin to throb, the pain slowly intensified as I felt my spider sense go off.
( End music here )
Carlos: ( Spider sense? Why here? I don't see anything that could put others in danger. )
I looked around for any possible threat that may have been close by. Everywhere I looked I couldn't find anything that might have set off my spider sense so I didn't know how I should react in case something appeared.
Carlos: ( Okay this is weird, if there's no danger nearby then how come my spider sense is tingling? )
Before it felt like my head would explode the sensation began to change, now it felt like it was trying to pull me somewhere. The feeling of danger was replaced with a feeling of familiarity as I allowed my spider sense to guide me. I was led to some far away bushes where I heard some muffled voices that were speaking in hushed tones.
????: We need to find help. Let's go look for someone who can tell us where we are.
????: But daddy said that we shouldn't talk to strangers. Maybe we should stay here where it's safe.
????: But if we do that we'll never get out of here. Maybe we can look for papa, he can help us and get us back home.
Sounded like whoever was hiding there needed help, little did I know that the next few minutes would be some of the most confusing moments I would ever experience.
????: But how will we find daddy? He doesn't know we're here.
Carlos: Hello, is someone there?
I steadily approached to avoid scaring whoever was hiding in the bushes. My senses calmed down as I heard the two voices whispering to one another about what they should do next.
Carlos: Don't be afraid, I'm not going to hurt you. If you need any help maybe I can do something for you.
What I didn't realize at the time was that the two figures took one look at me and were shocked to see me standing in front of them. Once I took a step closer to them they immediately jumped at me and wrapped their arms around my waist as they started hugging me with all their strength.
Yui/Kanna: Daddy/Papa it's you! We found you!
They both sounded happy to see me but I was just confused. They just said I was their father and my mind instantly shut down. I had no idea how to respond to this and I almost froze in place due to the lack of information.
Yui: Daddy are you okay?
Kanna: What's wrong, do you need to sit down?
After a moment I looked down at the girls in front of me, they let go of me and took a step back as I got a good look at them. They both looked about 6 or 7 years old, not only that but they each looked like a miniature version of Blake and Yang respectively with a few differences. I noticed that the little girl who looked like Blake was carrying around a plush toy of Spider-Man.
Carlos: ( Wow, an actual Spider plushie, I wonder if I get paid for them. )
Shaking that thought out of my head for the moment I brought my attention back to the girls, even now my spider sense began to buzz softly as I felt a connection to the two of them, it was almost as if I knew them so well even if this was my first time meeting them. Not only that but I also felt like we had something in common, almost as if we were all... spiders?
Carlos: Y-You're like me?
Yui: Daddy are you sure you're alright?
Carlos: Uh y-yeah I'm fine. Sorry for asking this but who are you?
Kanna: You're silly papa, you know who we are. I'm Kanna and she's Yui, we are your daughters and you are our papa.
They both looked pretty calm about all of this, I honestly was expecting them to be a bit more panicked about the whole thing so I was amazed at how well they were taking the whole situation. I still wasn't entirely convinced and I guess that Yui could tell, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper that turned out to be a photo of them with their parents standing behind them. To my shock the parents were me and Blake and Yang, we all looked like a happy family as the three of us were hugging our daughters.
Carlos: Um sooo, can you tell me why you were in the bushes earlier?
Yui: Well you took us to see uncle Stark because he needed help with one of his machines.
Kanna: Then it turned on by itself and then there was a bright light. Then we were in the bushes because we couldn't find you or our mamas so we hid there.
From what they told me it sounded like it was an accident that brought them here. Was it possible that they got too close to a time machine or something? It sounded crazy since I knew for a fact that Jonathan was strictly against the idea of ever making one, so the question is what should I do now?
Carlos: ( I guess these two really are my daughters, even if that wasn't the case it would be a bad idea to leave them unsupervised. I better watch over them until we can figure something out, like finding a way to send them back home. )
Even though we just met I felt this instinct telling me to keep them safe from harm, I wasn't sure if that was just my instincts as an older brother kicking in or some kind of paternal instinct since they proved I was their father, but I didn't want anything bad to happen to them so I decided to take care of them until we could send them back home safe and sound.
Carlos: Alright girls, let's go see your uncle Stark. Maybe he can help us figure some things out.
They both nodded as they proceeded to hold my hands. We then began walking through the park as we began making our way back to Beacon, while we were walking some of the families saw us and commented on how adorable it looked that I was taking the girls to the park today. I got a little embarrassed since I wasn't old enough to have kids and everyone around us thought that I was already a father with two kids of my own. Just as we crossed the street I heard a low grumbling and I looked down to see Yui looking at the ground with a bright blush on her face.
Kanna: Was that you Yui?
Yui: Sorry. I'm hungry. Can we have some lunch daddy?
I still wasn't used to being called that, but there was no way I was letting them go hungry, especially after Yui looked at me with these big puppy dog eyes ( or to be more accurate kitten eyes ) as I silently agreed. I looked around until I found a diner that I would go to every now and then so I decided to take them inside to have lunch. Just as we approached the door I was unaware of two people walking towards us from a distance, they caught me with the girls as we took a seat near the window as we were looking over the menu for what to eat.
Blake: Uh Yang, was that Carlos just now?
Yang: Yeah. Did you happen to see him with two little girls walk into that diner or was that just me?
Blake: I think we deserve an explanation.
Meanwhile our food had just arrived, apparently the girls were interested in having the same thing I was having which in this case was chili dogs and a milkshake, to my surprise they had a pretty large appetite since they each ate three chili dogs almost as fast as I do.
Carlos: ( Wow. I gotta admit I'm impressed. They definitely have my appetite that's for sure. )
I guess I started to see the resemblance a little bit more, it was actually kind of cute to see the two of them with chili sauce stains on their faces that I had to wipe them clean. Afterwards they smiled as they drank their shakes while enjoying our time together. This whole moment wasn't so bad, if anything it felt natural to me. I wondered if this is what it would be like to be a parent when that time comes, though to be honest right now I could only imagine what Yang and Blake would say if they saw me with them.
Carlos: ( At least I have some time until I need to explain the situation to them. Glad they haven't found out yet. )
Blake: Uhh Carlos...?
Yang: What's going on here?
Carlos: ( What the f-...?! )
I turned to see a stunned looking Yang and Blake, I probably looked about as shocked as they were since I hadn't really thought of what to say to them to explain the situation I was in. The girls however didn't seem to have a problem with that as they did what any kid would do when seeing their parents.
Yui: Mommy!
Kanna: Mama!
They got out from their seats as they each hugged one of them before hugging the other. I could tell by the look on their faces that they were both in shock as well as expecting an answer from me.
Carlos: Uhhh... surprise?
And that pretty much brings you up to speed on what's going on. Want to know how this ends? Yeah, me too.
After paying for the food we took the girls outside as we looked for a place to talk in private without anyone overhearing our conversation. As we did Yui and Kanna held their mother's hands while I walked in between them. Once we were far enough away Blake and Yang gave me that look that said " Talk! Now! "
Carlos: Okay I know I have a lot of explaining to do so please hear me out before you ask me any questions.
They nodded all while not letting go of that look that dug deep into my very soul.
Carlos: Well the best way I can explain it is that I found them hiding in the bushes of the park and they started calling me their dad since apparently I am in fact their father.
They didn't look convinced, if anything they looked at me as if I was suspicious of hiding something from them and the glare they were giving me didn't help at all so I explained that my spider sense reacted to them, although I also had to explain that my spider sense could also detect other spiders that were similar to me since it was mostly used to detect danger. I had Yui pull out the photo from before as she handed it to them, one look was enough to convince them of the truth. They were also a little more convinced since I brought up the fact that the girls looked like little versions of them, they each took a good look at their respective daughter and they did see the resemblance. In fact they each began to tear up as they accepted the truth for themselves.
( Blake's pov )
This was all insane, I know that over the last several months we have witnessed things that don't make sense but there was no way these girls were our daughters, at least that's what I thought until I saw the evidence for myself. Yang and I haven't been with Carlos long enough to consider having kids and yet there was no denying what was in front of us. I took a good look at the little girl in front of me. Yui, she looks so much like me but I can also see some of her father in her. Her eyes were the same color that Carlos used to have although she did have cat like pupils like me, she also had the same cat ears as me, sometimes I used to wonder if my future child would either inherit my ears or maybe a trait from my mom or dad. Also I could just instinctively feel that she was my daughter since I had this feeling well up inside me telling me to protect her from harm.
Blake: You're my little girl, Yui?
Yui: Mhm.
I couldn't take it anymore, I just wrapped her up in my arms as I started to cry in happiness. My little kitten, my sweet little Yui safe in my arms.
( Yang's pov )
I didn't think I would be called a mom so soon, especially since Blake and I haven't even married Carlos. Yet standing right in front of me was a little miniature me calling me mama. She did look like me, although with her black hair she would most likely resemble her grandmother Raven if it wasn't for the blonde streak and curl in her hair. Her eyes were the same as mine but with pupils like her father and I could tell she was as energetic as me when I was her age.
Yang: And you're my little dragon? My little Kanna?
Kanna: Yep!
I did the same as Blake and hugged her as tightly as I could. I didn't want to let her go, she was my daughter there was absolutely no doubt. My adorable little dragon who I promised I would take care of to the best of my abilities. My eyes started to cry as I kept telling myself how lucky we were to see that one day we would be one big happy family, and I know that we will make that dream a reality because our daughters were proof of that.
( Normal pov )
They each took their daughter and brought them into a warm hug as the tears started to fall, they each let go before going to their other daughter and doing the same.
Yui: Mommy Yang you're crying, are you okay?
Yang: I am Yui, I'm just really happy right now.
Blake: Me too, I can't tell you girls how happy we are to see you both.
Kanna: Thanks mama Blake, we're happy to see you too!
Yang: I can't believe this, we have two beautiful daughters in the future.
Blake: I know, I can't believe it myself.
Yang: So what do we do now?
Carlos: I was actually going to take them to Jonathan, if what they told me about the incident that brought them here is true then we're going to need his expertise if we are to send them back home.
I helped Blake and Yang up as they each took their daughters hand before wrapping their arms around mine, it was a little odd walking down the sidewalk arm in arm like this but I quickly got used to it since it felt as if we were already a family. As we made our way back we got stares from other people watching us and just like back in the park we got comments from the pedestrians watching us. We heard " what a cute family " , " those little girls are so adorable " , and so on as we made our way to catch a bullhead back to Beacon. After a quiet ride we got off and saw the familiar school grounds, both Kanna and Yui had stars in their eyes as they took in the sights of students lounging around the open space either hanging out with friends or studying/reading in peace.
Yui: Wow, the school is so big!
Kanna: I know! ( gasp ) Yui look that girl has a fire sword! And that guy has a lightning bow!
Before Kanna could run off to find any more weapons that caught her eye Yang managed to grab her by the back of her jacket as she pulled her back to us.
Yang: Wow Kanna, you're acting just like your aunt Ruby did back on her first day here.
Kanna: I can't help it, you guys have the coolest weapons ever! I can't wait to get an awesome one when I'm older!
Yang: Is that so, what kind are you hoping to get?
Kanna: I want one like yours mama, I want to punch Grimm and bad guys just like you!
Yang: Awww, that's my girl!
Yang then picked up Kanna and proceeded to kiss her on the cheek as she giggled to her moms affection. She then put her back down as Kanna then began imitating Yang when she fights, she was actually pretty good at it.
Kanna: First I get them with a left, then a right! Then left again! And when they're dizzy and confused I give them one of these!
Kanna then imitated a very familiar spinning uppercut as she jumped into the air as if she actually hit an enemy with it.
Kanna: SHORYUKEN!!!
When she finished she seemed very pleased with how her little combo played out as she turned to face us as Yang praised her.
Yang: Yeah Kanna! You're gonna be an awesome fighter when you're all grown up! I'm so proud of you sweetie!
Kanna: Thanks mama!
Carlos: Um Kanna, where did you learn about that move?
Kanna: From one of your video games from back home. You said that move is one you taught mama and I see you two do it when you practice at home.
After watching Kanna imitate Yang's fighting style a bit more the five of us continued to my dorm as Yui asked some questions about the school and what studying here was like. She was excited about some of the classes they had here while Kanna was more interested about our combat class so she could one day show off her skills.
Blake: Yui have you ever thought about what you want to do when you're older?
Yui: I-I want to be like you and daddy, I want to be a Huntress and help people.
Kanna: Me too, the two of us are going to be the greatest Huntresses ever!
We were a little worried about them wanting to follow in our footsteps, mostly because we knew the dangers of this job and we didn't want them to be put in situations that could be far worse than what we've experienced, but if that's what they wish to do than I know the three of us will do everything we can to prepare them for it.
Carlos: Well if you two want to be Huntresses you two are going to have to work hard. It won't be easy but if you put in the effort than you'll be on your way to achieving that goal.
Kanna: Don't worry papa we'll work hard. Yui and I already unlocked our aura months ago too.
Carlos/Blake/Yang: What?!
Yui: We were playing in the backyard and then when I tripped I didn't get hurt. When I looked at my leg it was glowing purple.
Kanna: I accidentally fell off the couch once and my whole body glowed yellow.
Blake: And what were you doing on the couch that made you fall? I doubt you were simply taking a nap.
You could easily tell by her voice that Blake was acting like a parent. It was as if she knew her daughter was goofing around when she shouldn't have been. Kanna looked scared to see she was going to get caught again since this happened before, and Blake was the one who called her out on it last time too.
Kanna: ( nervously ) I uhhh... was... reading?
Now Yang and Blake both gave her that look that said " Really? " since they didn't believe her as they crossed their arms. Yui then ran behind me as she hid behind my leg while holding her plushie tightly in order to avoid the wrath of her moms as I bent down to pat her head.
Yui: Both mommies are scary when they get mad.
Carlos: It's okay sweetie, it'll be over soon. ( Wow, they just found out about being mothers no more than 30 minutes ago and they're already getting into the part. I gotta say, it's actually kind of hot. )
Yang/Blake: Kanna, tell us the truth now young lady.
Kanna: ( trembling ) O-Okay. I-I was jumping on the couches because I was bored.
She looked down at the ground expecting to get scolded only to feel hands on her shoulders as her moms looked more relaxed than before.
Yang: Kanna we aren't mad about that, but we are disappointed about you doing something dangerous for your age.
Blake: Promise us that when you get back that you will do as your parents say. They just want to be sure you two are safe so don't scare them like that. Understood?
Kanna: I promise.
Glad to see the situation resolved itself, after a quick hug the girls then explained how after discovering their auras the three of us began teaching them how to use it as they stood in front of us to show us they can activate it on command, it was only for a few seconds but they could easily access it when they needed it more or less.
Yui: We still haven't figured it out yet but we're getting better. We practice every day just like you said to.
Kanna: That reminds me, Yui did you ever pick what weapon you want when we get to start training to fight?
Yui: I think so, I want a sword that's also a whip and maybe two guns like daddy's that can turn into short swords.
Blake: Interesting, so you want weapons similar to mine and your father.
Yui: Mhm, the way you fight is so pretty so I want to be just like you. I also want to use two weapons just like daddy.
After a few minutes we finally arrived at my dorm to see Neo helping Jonathan run a diagnostic on Penny's internal systems by taking notes while Jonathan was going over the data on his computer.
Penny: So how is it? Have the updates helped with the glitches you found?
Jonathan: Looks like it, still we should probably test it out just to be safe.
Before I could say anything Neo waved at us but did a double take as she saw the two little girls standing in front of us. She then tapped Jonathan on the shoulder as she kept her eyes on us the whole time. When Jonathan and Penny turned around they quickly grew as wide eyed as Neo when they saw the five of us.
Kanna/Yui: Hi Uncle Stark! Hi Aunty Penny! Hi Aunty Neo!
( A few minutes later )
Jonathan: So let me see if I understand what's going on here, you expect me to believe that these two kids are our future nieces and that they were sent back in time by accident from a machine my future self built?
Carlos: According to them, yes.
Jonathan gave us back the photo that he, Neo and Penny had been staring at for the last few minutes as he got up to grab his scroll from his desk as he then scanned the girls, he then went to his computer to run a diagnostic on what he found.
Blake: Jonathan what are you doing?
Jonathan: Just running a quick scan on their DNA, I'm trying to see if they match the blood samples I got from you three a month ago.
Yang: Wait you took a blood sample from us?! How?!
Jonathan: That's not important.
Carlos: Yes it is, also why did you take a sample from us?!
Jonathan: Would you have preferred I ask first?
Carlos: No! Especially when we don't know why you needed it in the first place!
Jonathan: Well then there's your answer.
As the two of us argued both Yui and Kanna could only giggle at how we were behaving.
Kanna: Papa and Uncle are fighting again!
Blake: Does this sort of thing still happen when they're older?
Kanna: Yep. Uncle says it's his job to make papa's life as difficult as possible.
Yang: That's kind of depressing.
Yui: At least they don't fight all the time. Only whenever Uncle tries to be a smart mouth. At least that's what you call him mommy Yang.
We all looked at her before turning our attention to Yang who nervously chuckled at getting caught.
Yang: ( nervously ) I never said that.
Kanna: Yeah you do, you and mama Blake call him that when he isn't around. Especially after that time you told us that he once secretly put tiny robots in papa's food to make him a guinea pig.
Say what now?
Carlos: You did what?!
Jonathan: How did you know about that?!
I suddenly lunged at him as he ran out of the room and I proceeded to chase him in the hallway all while yelling at him to get his tech out of me.
Jonathan: They're nanobots I designed for medical purposes. Why are you so upset?! I thought you'd be happy to help out the field of medicine!
Carlos: I am not your personal lab rat, now get them out of me!!!
Blake: Girls, maybe you should keep a few things about our future to yourselves. We don't need your father getting into any unnecessary trouble.
Kanna/Yui: Okay. Sorry.
After roughly 10 minutes of Neo and Penny holding me back ( as well as Jonathan promising me to get rid of the nanotech he put inside me ) the scan finished rendering and the results came as follows; the girls were indeed a genetic match. Now that we had that out of the way we needed to figure out a plan to get them home.
Jonathan: Alright girls, I need you to explain to me in as much detail as possible how you two came here.
Their story went something like this:
Apparently Jonathan had called me over to his lab at Stark Industries to go over some data with him about one of his latest projects. He also asked me to bring Yang and Blake since he wanted them to help in testing out some new gear that his other employees had been developing. The device in question was a prototype transportation device that could, in theory, transport objects instantly from one location to another. If this worked we could send supplies to otherwise unreachable locations in less than a minute thus providing necessary items to those who need it most. The device wasn't turned on at the moment so we could avoid any accidents, especially since the girls were with us because we were called at the last minute and couldn't find a sitter for them.
Jonathan: That is something I have been working on, I have the blueprints here on my computer. But how could a device like that send you two back in time? If I know myself as well as I think I do, I would never build a time machine.
Yui: We don't know, all we know is that there was a bright light from your machine and then we were in the park where daddy found us.
After a few more minutes we then heard a beeping sound that seemed to be coming from Penny, we turned to face her as her eyes began lighting up like an alarm.
Jonathan: ( groan ) Not again! I thought I finally got rid of the problem already!
Carlos: What problem?
Penny: My scanners have been picking up a strange signal all day. Jonathan thought there might have been a technical glitch so he has been working all day to correct it.
Jonathan: Unless... unless it isn't a glitch.
Yang: What do you mean?
Jonathan: I mean, what if this signal is the answer you're looking for.
He ran to his computer as he began typing away. In a few seconds he moved away from the monitor to show us a map of where the signal was coming from.
Jonathan: At first I thought this was just some kind of technical error, but after running an analysis on the signal I found out where it's coming from.
Blake: According to this, it looks like it's coming from outside the city.
Penny: More specifically it's coming from your warehouse darling.
Carlos/Blake/Yang: Darling?
Jonathan: She's been trying to come up with a nickname for me. But yeah it looks like the signal is coming from the warehouse I bought last week.
Carlos: Where did you get the money to buy a warehouse?
Jonathan: Easy, I've already got investors looking to work with me in making Stark Industries a reality. Plus the warehouse was going for cheap so I bought it before anyone else could.
As he typed away on the keyboard Penny's scanner just got a ping in the same location. While Neo and Penny stayed behind the six of us headed out by taking the car that Jonathan made for himself from the garage as we drove into the city. About an hour later the six of us arrived at what looked like an abandoned warehouse that was the size of at least four airplane hangars with several miles of land surrounding the property.
Carlos: You own all of this?
Jonathan: Just the building. I'm planning on owning the surrounding area by Christmas. Let's head inside.
As we went inside the whole hangar was empty with only a few pieces of equipment scattered around. In the center was a large circular device that was in the process of being built, you could easily see all the wires and other intricate pieces that were put into it as it was basically a skeleton of what it could be one day.
Carlos: Is that the machine you girls saw?
Yui: Yeah, but it looked a lot more finished.
Jonathan: I'm not surprised, I just got started on it several weeks ago. This doesn't have any power going through it so we may need to improvise if we want to send the girls home.
Blake: How are we going to do that?
Before Jonathan could answer he got a call from Penny saying how the signal she detected earlier was growing stronger. In that moment my spider sense warned me in time to get everyone back from the machine as the whole room began to shake. Jonathan went over to a desk with a laptop to try and figure out what was going on while I got the girls to safety by hiding behind a stone pillar. As the shaking intensified I held onto Blake and Yang as they held onto the girls, the shaking began to grow into a low rumble before it settled down and the machine sparked to life as a blue energy portal opened up.
Carlos: I thought you said this thing didn't have any power?
Jonathan: It doesn't. I don't know how to explain any of this, these readings I'm getting don't make any sense.
As we stared at the portal we began to see something on the other side, we then began to hear voices coming from the other end as well and they sounded really upset.
????: Stop telling us to calm down! Don't you understand how worried we are right now!
????: Believe me I do, but panicking about it isn't going to help us at all.
????: How did this even happen anyway, the girls were with you two and you said your prototype wasn't even functional yet!
????: I don't know how it happened either, but I am running several programs at once. With any luck we should come up with a solution soon.
????: Well you better hurry, I won't be able to forgive myself if anything happens to Kanna or Yui when we aren't there to help them.
Carlos: Is that... us?
Yang: It sounds like it, Jonathan you have any ideas to get a message to them?
Jonathan: Just one, I can try to bounce their signal back to them. With any luck it should make the portal strong enough to send Kanna and Yui back.
Blake: But if we can hear them on the other side how come we can't send the girls back now?
Jonathan: Right now the connection is like two cans and a string. There's only so much we can do right now with how limited we are, but if I know myself as well as I think I do then we should get a clear signal before we know it.
As he started typing away we took notice of the girls standing in front of the portal with hope in their eyes. I walked over to them as I held their hands waiting with them for what would happen next. Suddenly the portal grew brighter and the image became clearer as we saw an older version of ourselves in what looked like a high tech garage filled with work tables, holographic monitors as well as different types of Iron Man suits lining the walls.
Jonathan ( older ): I think that did it!
Carlos( older ): Uh guys... you might want to take a look at this.
They noticed the portal showing us as the girls waved at their parents on the other end.
Yui: Hi daddy! Hi mommies! Hi uncle!
Blake ( older ): Yui, Kanna! You're okay!
Yang ( older ): And is that... us?!
We all gathered around to see one another. I had to admit I looked kind of cool. I looked more confident, a little muscular and slightly rugged. Jonathan appeared more mature and in a clean suit with slightly messy hair and a goatee. I almost couldn't take my eyes off of the older Blake and Yang because they grew even more beautiful than before.
Carlos: Wow, this is really...
Carlos ( older ): ... Awkward? If so than I totally agree.
Yang( older ): Girls are you two alright? We were so worried.
Kanna: Don't worry mama we're okay. Papa found us and he's been taking care of us. We even found you two and uncle helped us out.
Yang ( older ): Thank goodness, I was afraid you two were scared being by yourselves.
Yang: Are you kidding, these girls were totally fine. After all they have the best parents looking out for them.
Yang ( older ): True. Thanks for watching over them.
Blake: So now what? How can we send them back through?
Blake ( older ): Good question. Jonathan have you figured anything out yet?
Jonathan/( older ): Working on it.
As both of them went back to make sure everything would be safe we decided to just talk to our future selves a bit more. We were amazed to learn how much we would grow in the next couple of years, my future self even gave me some relationship advice that might come in handy and I was very grateful for it.
Carlos: So tell me, has being Spider-Man gotten any easier?
Carlos ( older ): ( sigh ) I'll be honest with you, we have had our good days as well as bad. Sometimes being Spider-Man as well as a Huntsman will feel like it's taking its toll on you. However...
He then held hands with his Blake and Yang as they smiled warmly at each other before looking back at me.
Carlos ( older ): ... If there's one thing I am grateful for, it's having family and friends that look out for me. They remind me why we agreed to do this in the first place. Because with great power...
Carlos: ... comes great responsibility.
I then repeated his actions with my Blake and Yang. Suddenly Jonathan, both of them, said that everything was up and running and that we could send the girls through safely. We knelt down next to them ready to say our goodbyes.
Yang: I really wish we got to spend more time with you two. Before you go I just have to know one thing, am I a good mom to you in the future?
Kanna: Of course you are. You're funny, you play with us all the time...
Yui: You scare the bullies away and you love us lots and lots.
Kanna: You're a great mama!
Yang: Thanks girls. I'm going to miss you both so much.
She then kissed each of them on the cheek as she stood back up and took one last look at her older self.
Yang: Promise me that you'll take good care of them.
Yang ( older ): I will. I love them very much and I want to see them grow up with my own eyes. Trust me, I will always be there for them.
Next was Blake as she held them close and kissed their foreheads.
Blake: No matter what happens I want you both to remember this, never feel ashamed of what or who you are. You two will grow up to be amazing people one day, I know that deep down in my heart.
Yui: Yes mommy, we are both proud to be your kids. Even if we get made fun of sometimes we still know that you love us and that we can be good people. Just like you.
Kanna: Yeah! And if anyone tries to bully Yui then they have to answer to me!
Blake stood up and faced her future self as she saw her tearing up a bit as well.
Blake: Tell me, do the Faunus get treated better in the future than they do now?
Blake ( older ): They do, but if you want that to happen then you'll need to work hard at it. It's going to feel like a challenge at times...
She then looked towards her daughters as they smiled back at her.
Blake ( older ): ... but when we found out we were pregnant with our daughters it just made me more determined to help create a world where they could grow up happy and safe.
Blake nodded as I was the last one to say goodbye.
Carlos: I really wish you could answer all my questions, but if there's one thing I want to tell you it's that no matter how hard things get sometimes you and the rest of our family mean everything to me. I love you.
Yui: We love you too daddy.
Kanna: You're the best papa ever, and you are also our hero.
I kissed them on the cheek as I hugged them one last time as I cried a little. I hated to let them go but I knew they needed to return home.
Carlos ( older ): Don't worry this isn't goodbye, it's more " see you later " so you just need to be patient.
I turned to face my older self as he looked at me kindly.
Carlos ( older ): That day when I held them in my arms for the first time was one of the best days of my life. And I know that you will feel the same when your time comes. Just love your family and enjoy all they have to offer you.
I nodded as we stepped back, the girls gave their final goodbyes to all of us as they faced the portal while holding hands.
Kanna: Ready sis?
Yui: Yeah, let's go home.
They slowly walked through and as they made contact a bright light blinded us, when it faded we were greeted with the image of our future selves hugging their daughters as they were glad to see them home again. The portal then shut down as the machine began to smoke a bit and the connection was lost, never to be found again.
Blake: Even if we didn't know them long I still miss them so much.
Yang: Me too. That reminds me...
Yang then gave me a quick peck on the cheek as she hugged my arm.
Yang: Happy Fathers Day honey.
Blake did the same as she hugged me too.
Blake: Can't wait to celebrate again next year.
