Today I'll narrate you through the story of Ben Solo, the annoying dark individual, who one sudden day dropped into my life. I'll tell you about Ben Solo, about the loner, the fighter and the self-center Solo. About that Ben Solo, the amazing, unbelievable Ben Solo, who was responsible to drag me through living hell, until it became a life worth living. \\MODERN AU

2. Chapter 2

Ben Solo, was his name. The name that was given to him, and the name he ended up hating. There were always alternative names he could use. Ben Skywalker, if he would follow his Skywalker inheritance, and he surely would make his grandfather; Anakin Skywalker proud. Ben Organa, the last name of powerful politicians, and a Leia clinching all over him; in case he did the mistake of using that last name. Or his nickname Kylo Ren.

Kylo Ren. He used that name the time he had escaped from home. When he rebelled against his dysfunctional family and tried to find his own path in life. But even then, there was a way he couldn't fully escape. Old enemies of his family found him and broke him. Sheev Palpatine, Leader Snoke, and the Ren Brothers. People that he thought ended up in his life randomly, became close to him, just because he was Ben Solo.

He started by becoming the leader of the bike gang called 'the Ren Brothers'. He thought it happened randomly and he found a new family to belong to. Years later when he was in university, Snoke became his teacher. Again he was fooled and followed Snoke's disturbing plans. Only after Ben graduated, he was working for Last Order S.A. and under Sheev Palpatine.

The years he lived as Kylo Ren and worked under Palpatine slowly destroyed him. It took him a while to notice that Snake and Palpatine were connected. That they only wanted him because of his birthright and birthname. The revenge that was meant for his own family was offered to him. And Ben Solo accepted all of it, even when he found out that he was tricked.

After all, he had only two options. Escape from Palpatine's grip and let his family company and Last Order S.A. into an economical war, that would for sure damage the company. Or remain there, allowing Palpatine to trick him until he would find the way to rebel and escape. He chose the second option, trying to save what was dear to him. But with what cost? He had to lose himself, deal with deep and awful darkness, let Palpatine and Snoke break him...

For what? For the family that was never there for him.

Yet Ben went through hell, lost himself, and became Kylo Ren. And before it was too late, he managed to pick up his broken pieces and escape from Last Order S. the company down with him. He made Snoke and Palpatine his personal enemies, but he left them without the strength to fight him back. But he knew that his victory wouldn't last. The brothers of Ren would come for him, Snoke would come, and Palpatine. Long foes that he would have to fight all his life until he would die.

Those were battles he would have to fight alone. Because he already knew it, there would be no-one by his side. He strongly believed his family would never care about him. They didn't care until now, they wouldn't in the future. He didn't have friends either, that would stand on his side. He thought that the brothers of Ren were his friends. But he was wrong. He had no-one.

However, he needed to stand on his feet and have power and money on his hands. He knew and he knew it well, the days that would come would be dark and rough. But life was generous for once and he was offered to lead his father's company. Solo Mechanics S.A. could never reach the capacity of Last Order S.A., but he hoped at least it would be strong enough to offer him the ground to start the fight if needed. Last Order S.A. was bankrupted, but Palpatine could pull the right strings and renew it.

How would a small company like Solo Mechanics S.A. win such an attack? Only if Ben managed to start a partnership with Skywalker Air & Engines. Impossible. Even if Ben was Luke's nephew. Even if he was Anakin's favorite and only grandson. Luke was the CEO of Skywalker Air & Engines, and Anakin's opinion didn't matter any longer. And Ben already knew that Luke hated him. He blamed Ben for everything that had happened to the family. And for half of the things that Luke accused Ben, were true. Though the rest were only tricks that Palpatine played.

Now there he was, trying the impossible. Ben had to run his father's company. Somehow he had to manage to put Solo Mechanics S.A. under Skywalker Air & Engines care. Have Luke trust his word. And to be ready to face Last Order S.A. and Palpatine. How he would manage all that, he couldn't even think about it. But there he was ready to start one more round of fights without knowing how broken it would leave him this time.
