Epilogue

Adrian Cotta looked out over the sea of new students among them was one that he was waiting for. Adrian graduated the year before and now he was being assigned as a teachers aid.

Ferro Arc looked every bit like his father but carried himself like his mother, neither of whom Adrain had ever met. "Ferro!" Adrian shouted, getting the boy's attention.

Ferro saw him and made his way over to the older student. "Do I know you?" he asked

"I need you to follow me the headmaster wants to see you," Adrian explained

Ferro rolled his eyes and followed Adrian to the elevator and when the door opened he motioned for Ferro to enter while he returned to his daily tasks.

Ferro saw Ruby Rose sitting in her chair with a smile on her face. "Ferro, I'm glad to see you, please take a seat." she said

"That makes one of us, what do you want?" Ferro replied sternly.

"Is there a problem ?" she responded.

"I watched you try to execute my mother right in front of me, what do you think the problem is?" Ferro shot back barely containing his disdain for the woman sitting on the other side of the desk.

Ruby sighed deeply "young man, while I understand that you may have a rather dim view of me I need to remind you that you are a student at my academy and you speak to me as such."

"Or what?" Ferro countered. When Ruby went to open her mouth he cut her off. "The only reason I am even here instead of literally any other academy on Remnant is that I refuse to let my personal issue put my parents at further risk. "I'd hate to lose a second set of them because of you."

Normally Ruby was a very level headed woman but Ferro had just pushed more than a few of her buttons, mainly the sensitive ones.

"Young man if you don't get your attitude under control…" she tried to say when Ferro cut her off again.

"Oh wait you're probably still in love with my dad so I guess you would just kill my mom" Ferro pondered sarcastically.

Ruby almost lunged at the boy before she managed to get her temper under control.

"Oh I touched a nerve didn't I, yeah I must have been real close to something." Ferro pondered making use of his uncanny ability to read people's feelings.

Ruby was trying to figure out what to say to both deliver her message and get control of the discussion. Before she could Ferro did it for her. " I get it, you want to make sure I'm not a mass killing lunatic. So I am going to spend the next four years carrying three of your idiots so i can go back home and settle down to a quiet life so if all you wanted to do was try and tell me that I needed to behave myself I will. Is that all?" he asked, leaning back in his chair.

She could see both of his father's in him. He had Mercury's body and sas but he had Jaune's mind. It was a little scary. If he got the strongest parts of both of them then he was going to be a handful.

"Yes that will be all, report to the main hall for the rest of the evening I will be giving a speech but I suspect that getting you to attend will be more trouble than it's worth." she said as Ferro stood up and walked to the door calling up the elevator and waiting in an uncomfortable silence

He left and Ruby nodded her head in mild appreciation. He was rough around the edges but with Jaune Arc and Cinder Fall for parents she would only need to hone his skills. As it stood she had gotten a report from Jaune detailing some of the boy's accomplishments and she was honestly shocked at how well he had taken to Pyrrha's gift and his parents' teaching.

She saw him down in the courtyard doing his best to socialize while still somehow being as awkward as Jaune and as cool as Mercury. She could see it in him though. He was going to be an amazing hunter one day. He said he wanted to live a simple life and she was sure that one day he would but before then she could tell that at some point he was going to end up like his father, he was going to be one of Beacon's angels.
