Chapter 26. I'm Sorry For Everything.

OPTIMUS: Previously On…..

[STOICK explodes to the surface, pulling Hiccup to the shoreline through flaming debris. He lays him down, under the shelter of an overhanging rock.]

HICCUP: (OVERWHELMED) Dad…

Stoick lets out a breath he had been holding- Hiccup was safe!

[Stoick dives back into the water between flaming flotsam.]

Is he- " started Tadashi.

UNDERWATER

[ON TOOTHLESS, drowning. Stoick appears in front of him. Toothless freezes. Stoick tears the chains off of the yoke and lets it float free. Momentary stillness.]

Yup. " Tadashi answered his own question.

[They eye each other, through the churned up bubbles. Toothless lunges out of the bars - grabbing Stoick. BOOM! In an explosion of sea water, Toothless lands on the shore, setting Stoick down and releasing him. Hiccup is awed.]

And that's when The screen faded to black I turned to the others and then said.

I would like all the teens, including Astrid and Hiccup, to please follow me. " I said, and the six teens followed her out of the room, with Toothless trailing behind them.

As I led them to a separate room, where gathered there, was a Monstrous Nightmare, a Hideous Zippleback, and a Gronkle. With a nod to Hiccup and Astrid, I apparate out of the room and disappeared in a clad Blue Smoke ( Imagine me Using that Teleportation smoke trick from the Disney Crossover Live action Series Once UPON A TIME. I love this Series. ) Hiccup took a deep breath and turned to the other teens.

Do you all want to learn how to ride dragons? " he asked, and there was a slight pause.

I would. " Fishlegs said, stepping forward. He was followed by the Twins, and then by Snotlout. Hiccup spent a few minutes thinking over each of the teens' personalities, then grinned.

Alright. Fishlegs, you will be paired with the Gronkle, Twins, you're with the Zippleback, and Snotlout, you've got the Nightmare. First, you need to create a bond with your new dragon. " Hiccup said, and helped the teens put their hands over the dragons' snouts, creating a bond.

Now, you've gained their trust, you can name them. " Hiccup said. Fishlegs looked over his new friend, and choose to name her " Meatlug ". The Twins decided to name their dragon Barf and Belch, after their gas and sparks. Snotlout called his Nightmare Hookfang. After all this happened, saddles appeared on the backs of the new dragons, and Hiccup grinned.

Who wants to ride their dragon? " he asked his new friends.

Neutral POV

After finally getting to get their dragons, the Teens learned how to ride them. It all went very smoothly, except for Snotlout's butt flaming up on a couple occasion. Right before a bunch of adults were going to go after them, the six teens walked into the room, five of them laughing at Snotlout's smoking buttocks. The latter was rubbing it, but grinning. To everyone's shock, the four other teens sat with the dragons and with Hiccup. Then the movie resumed playing.

[Back to Stoick and Toothless they eye each other, through the churned up bubbles. Toothless lunges out of the bars - grabbing Stoick. BOOM! In an explosion of sea water, Toothless lands on the shore, setting Stoick down and releasing him. Hiccup is awed.]

As is everyone in the audience, and it stopped snowing and the room got slightly warmer.

[The ground rumbles underfoot. The monster screeches. Its massive claws stomp around in the smoke. Stoick gives way as Toothless mounts the rock and raises his wings. He turns to Hiccup and SNORTS - 'Let's go.']

Everyone smiled at the chief, knowing that he finally had a change of heart.

Stoick smiled as well, proud of what he had done for his son and the dragon.

HICCUP: (CONT'D) You got it, bud.

Oh yeah. " Hiccup said, grinning though Rapunzel look Nervous.

This is not going to end well. " muttered Rapunzel.

Don't remind me. " sigh Eugene.

[Hiccup climbs onto Toothless and buckles himself in. Stoick grabs his arm.]

Several people suck in their breath wondering what Stoick is going to do and wondering if it will have any negative consequences.

STOICK: Hiccup. I'm sorry...for everything.

Valka looked on in interest, watching the scene unfold before her.

HICCUP: Yeah...me too.

STOICK: You don't have to go up there.

HICCUP: We're Vikings. It's an occupational hazard.

Stoick beams at his son. His son, Hiccup, the boy who had been ignored his whole life and when he wasn't ignored he was being beaten down by harsh words from everyone- including himself. Guilt flowed through his veins at the very thought of it all, Hiccup never deserved any of that he is brave and selfless and they all punished him for it and one look at any other villager would confirm they all felt the very same guilt as they all promised to treat Hiccup like he should be treated, with kindness and love.

[They exchange smiles.]

STOICK: I'm proud to call you my son.

Stoick looked hopefully at his son, but Hiccup didn't spare him a glance. The chief sighed.

How would you feel if your father took you back after you trained dragons, and are trying to save your family. " Gobber said to his friend. Stoick nodded, understanding.

As for Rapunzel she looked on in awe at the site before her. " Awe. " Rapunzel awed, wiping a lone tear. " Father son bonding. " She said cooing causing the Two Haddock males to glance at each and Hiccup give a reassuring smile for his father who looks Hopeful.

HICCUP: Thanks dad.

[Letting go, Stoick watches as they shoot up into the sky.]

You know. " Gobber says, " maybe everything will be alright after all. " He added as he saw Hiccup and Stoick look at each other as Hiccup Gave Stoick a soft reassuring smile while Stoick looks on hopeful at Hiccup.

[Astrid sees them shooting straight up, grinning.]

ASTRID: He's up!

[She glances at the twins, who are arguing and exchanging insults and punches.]

You guys are impossible. " Hiccup says, smiling to let them know that he wouldn't have it any other way.

ASTRID: Get Snotlout out of there!

Snotlout huffed and began to whine. " So now you do something!? " He groan.

Astrid gave him an innocent smile.

I complimented you! Isn't that something enough? " She mockingly asks which cause Snotlout to Groan again but said nothing as Astrid and Hiccup began to laugh.

[They look for him, steering the Zippleback toward the Red Death's head.]

RUFF/TUFF: I'm on it!

Oh gods. " Groans Astrid.

TUFFNUT: I'm on it first, I'm ahead of you.

How can one be ahead of the other when you are on THE SAME DRAGON?! " yelled Eugene in exasperation.

RUFFNUT: Hey, let me drive.

Hiccup sighed. " Guys. Same dragon, remember? " He grunted in annoyance.

[The twins peel off, ARGUING as they race each other to the monster. Snotlout sees the Zippleback diving toward him and DASHES down the Red Death's head. He runs up the end of its horn... As the twins sweep past, both missing him... but perfectly snatching him where the necks merge. Ruff and Tuff eye each other, surprised and impressed.]

YES! " Exclaims Snotlout happily. " Did you see that! " He said while Kristoff looked on in shock.

That worked. " deadpanned Kristoff. " HOW DID THAT WORK?! " He Exclaimed shock.

TUFFNUT: I can't believe that worked.

Neither can I. " Smiles Ruffnut, as she tries to give Tuffnut a chance for bonding- maybe she can amaze Hiccup too! That would be a certain bonus….

Uh oh looks like we had a love triangle this is bad.

[The Red Death spots Astrid and INHALES, preparing to blast. She and her Nadder get caught in the suction, pulled toward the monster's gaping mouth.]

Everyone gasped as for Astrid she was now Clenching her teeth, Astrid frowned. She was not going out of her way.

ON THE GROUND

[The Vikings watch with dread. They hear the familiar whir of the...]

GOBBER: Night Fury! Get down!

IN THE AIR

[A massive BLAST jolts the Red Death's head sideways. Astrid is thrown clear of its mouth... AND her Nadder. She tumbles through the air. The ground races toward her, when... She's suddenly CAUGHT by the leg. She looks up to see Toothless.]

HICCUP: Did you get her?

[Toothless croons and gives Astrid a gummy smile.]

As he does now as Astrid laughs and returns the gesture, only with teeth.

ON THE GROUND

[They fly over the crowd of Vikings and set Astrid down, mid- run. They circle back to reengage - a black speck against the clouds.]

ASTRID: (BREATHLESS) Go.

[IN THE AIR Hiccup and Toothless rocket past the Red Death's head and climb, higher and higher.]
