Chapter 27. Clash Of Titans!

ON THE GROUND

[The Vikings watch with dread. They hear the familiar whir of the...]

GOBBER: Night Fury! Get down!

IN THE AIR

[A massive BLAST jolts the Red Death's head sideways. Astrid is thrown clear of its mouth... AND her Nadder. She tumbles through the air. The ground races toward her, when... She's suddenly CAUGHT by the leg. She looks up to see Toothless.]

HICCUP: Did you get her?

[Toothless croons and gives Astrid a gummy smile.]

As he does now as Astrid laughs and returns the gesture, only with teeth.

ON THE GROUND

[They fly over the crowd of Vikings and set Astrid down, mid- run. They circle back to reengage - a black speck against the clouds.]

ASTRID: (BREATHLESS) Go.

[IN THE AIR Hiccup and Toothless rocket past the Red Death's head and climb, higher and higher.]

HICCUP: (TO TOOTHLESS) That thing has wings! Okay, let's see if it can use them!

No! Hiccup are you crazy?! " Exclaims the teens and four (Stoick, Valka, Gobber and Spitelout.)

Stoick groans at his son.

Your gonna get yourself killed! You might even lose a limb! " Stoick Exclaimed I frown at this.

You don't know the half of it. " I mumbled.

All of the people from the future of The Httyd Universe looked on in interest. So this is how he lost his leg.

[Turning hundreds of feet in the air, they quickly gain speed.]

Woah. " Gape the teens as they watch, hoping they could do things like that in the future.

[The wind buffets them as they target the Red Death as super sonic speed.]

BOOOOM!

[Toothless unloads a fireball against the Red Death's head. It goes down with a rumble as they climb anew.]

Sweet! " The Twins, Fred and Snotlout all said in union.

Bonus! " Exclaims Hiccup happily.

Was it that easy? " Asked Jack.

Nope. " I Shook his head.

While lots of Vikings began to get restless. Something very bad is gonna happen. Many stared at the small Viking in pity. This is going to change his life forever.

ON THE GROUND

[The Vikings shield themselves from the dust of the fallen monster... as its wings unfold and extend.]

IN THE AIR

[Hiccup looks back as they put distance between them.]

HICCUP: Do you think that did it?

[Suddenly, the enraged behemoth RISES into frame... flapping its wings furiously. A daunting sight.]

HICCUP: (CONT'D) Well, he can fly.

Tuffnut's eyes bugged out. " He can!? Awesome! " He Exclaimed.

He's hopeless. As for Snotlout and Eugene they roll their eyes.

Way to state the obvious, Hiccup. " said Snotlout and Eugene at the same time.

As for Astrid She Started giggling. " I think it's a "she", Hic. " She giggled. Hiccup rolled his eyes.

I didn't really want to check, Astrid. " he said, and the other Teens and majority of Big 7 mainly the girls shivered.

Gross. " Elsa, Anna, Honey Lemon, Rapunzel, Merida and Gogo all said.

[Hiccup and Toothless DIVE into the tangled sea stacks - they weave through the rock like rabbits through a briar. The Red Death SNAPS at them, but cannot reach them. Hiccup and Toothless PULL AHEAD. The Red Death SMASHES through the canopy of rock and pulls in behind Toothless. He BURSTS THROUGH fifty-foot formations like they were saplings. ON THE GROUND Stoick, Gobber, and the Teens watch as Hiccup and Toothless streak past, weaving through sea stacks.]

Ruff crossed her arms in annoyance.

That guy is cheating. Hiccup should totally win! " Ruff Scoff.

Viggo let out a laugh.

He would be terrible at Maces and Talons! " Taunt Viggo and I glared At him.

Don't even think about it Vigs! " I Gestured to my Infinity Guantlet causing him to raise his hands in surrender. " Man I love showing power over the weak! " I Smirk mentally.

Though Fred was left cheering. " That. Is. AWESOME! " yelled Fred. When people looked at him incredously, he tried to fix his obvious mistake. " Scary, obviously, but HOW COOL! " He Exclaimed.

TEENS: Woohoo! Yeah!

[A moment later the Red Death SMASHES the sea stacks to dust in hot pursuit. The Vikings mood is quenched.]

The Vikings all glared at the Red Death, some with malice, some just hate.. It depended on the Viking and if any of their family was lost.

As for the teens. " BOO! " Exclaim the Teens As their dragons laugh at them.

[The Vikings mood is quenched.]

PleasebesafePleasebesafepleasebesafe. " Astrid kept repeating it like spell. Hiccup laughed and hugged her.

We'll be fine, Astrid. It's us! " He said, and Astrid glared at him.

Exactly! " she said, and Hiccup huffed, put kept his arm around her tightly.

IN THE AIR

[Hiccup and Toothless can't slow the monster down. Hiccup eyes the clouds above. An idea hits him. He locks eyes with Toothless.]

HICCUP: Okay Toothless, time to disappear.

Dissa-ohhhh gotcha. " Eugene amended himself. " Night Fury. Disappear. " He said Realizing what's Hiccup planning.

[Toothless PULLS into a steep climb, heading toward the clouds.]

HICCUP: (CONT'D) Come on bud!

[The Red Death follows, closing in fast.]

HICCUP: (hearing the gas) Here it comes!

Valka, Stoick and Gobber, were all pale with worry for Hiccup's abused safety as for Astrid She's Really having a panic Attack.

Watch out! " Astrid screamed, and Hiccup hugged her tighter.

Calm down! We'll be fine. " he said, rubbing her back.

[BLAST! They narrowly dodge a column of flame and smoke. They reach the low-hanging clouds and pierce them. The monster follows, immediately losing them in the hampered visibility. It roars irritably. From out of nowhere, Toothless DIVES at the huge dragon, BLASTING and PUNCTURING a hole in its wing. Toothless and Hiccup are gone again before the dragon can get a shot at them.]

YEAH! " Yelled Rapunzel, her slight fear disappearing. By now, the King and Queen of corona were practically convinced that she was their daughter.

ON THE GROUND

[The Vikings stare up at the sky listening to the resounding BOOMS and watching FLASHES light up the clouds.]

Seeing this causes Fishlegs to stare in awe.

Cool. " Fishlegs said quietly.

[Gobber places a hand on Stoick's shoulder.]

As he does now as Stoick is practically pulling his beard out over Hiccup.

BACK IN THE AIR

[HICCUP and TOOTHLESS dive in again and again, using the clouds to hide and surprise as they puncture the monster's wings. It BELLOWS in frustration and WHIRLS around, unleashing fire blindly, in all directions. Hiccup sees the glow of fire cutting towards them.]

HICCUP: Watch out

Oh no. " said Baymax.

[The random blast CLIPS Toothless' tail. It's heavily damaged.]

Oh great. " Groans Hiccup as the vikings (rest of the teens included) pale seeing the damage made, and realizing what would happen if they didn't return to the ground soon…

While Many Of the other Guests but Villains all gasped.

Stoick and Gobber clenched onto their seats. Astrid found herself hugging Hiccup's arm.

You're gonna crash! " Heather screamed looking on in shock. Snotlout look Concern for a moment there.

Oh no. " Snotlout whispered, clenching his fists. His cousin can't die. That's not like him. He's Hiccup! The son of the chief, the one who takes everything and gives nothing back. The one who keeps coming back from everything. He can't die. Not like that.

Hiccup sat emotionless. He didn't know how to feel, but he was scared.

HICCUP: Okay, time's up. Let's see if this works.

See if what… works… Oh! " Hiccup exclaimed. Astrid looked at him curiously.

Alright. What stupid plan of yours is going through your head right now? " she asked.

Yeah, whatever plan you're thinking to d I have doubts because In the small time I've known you, It's probably a 50/50 chance. " deadpanned Kristoff.

[He pulls Toothless into a turn. They fly directly into the Red Death's face, taunting it.]

Ignoring Kristoff's statement he Explained to everyone what's his future self was thinking.

Well. " Hiccup started, " Dragons are fire proof on the outside, right? " He asked.

The teens and The Big 7 around him nodded, wondering where this was going.

HICCUP: Come on! Is that the best you can do!?

Stoick sighed and hid his face in his hands.

Only my son. Why? " Stoick sigh in nervousness.

Gobber patted his back sympathetically.

As Hiccup Continue his explanation. " But they aren't fireproof on the inside, are they? " Hiccup grinned reminding them.

Fishleg's eyes widened. " Of course! " He gape in Realization.

But as their attention turned back toward the screen, the mood was subdued. Astrid bit her lip, suddenly extremely nervous about the outcome.

[Toothless utters an insult too, and they jackknife into a steep dive.]

Thanks to my translating Ear piece I now understood The roar of insult from Toothless causes Me to hold a snicker.

He called Her Big Bad ugly Fat lazy Lizard! ( Note I made that insult up! )

[The Red Death pursues. Toothless PUMPS his wings, racing faster than he's ever gone before. Hiccup and Toothless stay just ahead of the Red Death - no longer trying to evade it. Hiccup glances back to check the tail - it's disintegrating.]

This is NOT going to end well. " muttered Valka worriedly.

[Toothless screeches at the monster as they weave their way, avoiding its teeth. They race downward through the clouds, the Red Death roaring at them all the way. Hiccup tries to shift the prosthetic tail, but it only makes a slight clicking sound. Toothless eyes are wide as they continue to fall.]

HICCUP: Stay with me buddy, we're good, just a little bit longer.

[The Red Death glares, narrowing its eyes.]

By now, everyone's hearts were pounding.

[The Red Death closes the gap. Hiccup tucks in and holds Toothless steady - allowing the monster to set its sights on them. It narrows its eyes.]

Toothless narrowed his own eyes, forgetting momentarily that it was a movie and not actually going to hurt him and Hiccup just yet.

HICCUP: Hold Toothless.

[He shuts his eyes as he hears the gas building, taking in a breath.]

HICCUP: NOW!

[Hiccup HITS the PEDALS HARD as Toothless extends one wing. They PIVOT in place, hurtling directly into the Red Death's mouth. Toothless FIRES point blank down the monster's throat.]

Not so fireproof on the inside. " muttered Hiro, realization dawning on him.

[It's amassing gas is ignited, BACKFIRING into the monster, erupting in a chain of blasts throughout its body.]

Hiccup smiled to himself. " Not so fireproof on the inside, are ya? " Taunt Hiccup.

Astrid laughs with him at this others follows Everyone else who also started come to a conclusion, and was now laughing at themselves for not having figured it out earlier.

[It glances forward and sees the ground rushing up. It throws open its wings, attempting to put on the brakes, but the punctured, damaged wings can't stop its momentum. As the Red Death chokes on the expanding fireball, he sees Toothless suddenly pull out of the dive, streaking up, past its head.]

Awesome … " The twins breathed.

As for Astrid, Stoick and Valka they're worried now.

Nonononononono. " Astrid and Val kept repeating under their breath, along with Stoick.

Why does everyone keep impersonating Darth Vader? " I thought.

[Toothless opens his wings and gets sucked into the slipstream as the Red Death barrels into the earth. A massive fireball balloons into the air, and the Vikings duck as the blast reaches them.]

Woah… " The Vikings exclaim, and even the dragons are seemingly awed by the explosion.

[Hiccup and Toothless weave through the monster's massive backplates, wings, and flailing legs - a high-speed recall of the FREE FALL slalom run. The expanding fireball races toward them, about to swallow them. They manage to clear the obstacles. Hiccup glanced back. They're outrunning the fireball.]

The three frantic Vikings took a deep breath, but their relief was short lived.

[He looks forward just in time to see the monster's massive club tail careening toward them. He tries to shift their direction. The last shreds of Toothless' tail tear away. Hiccup's pedals go DEAD.]

Hiccup's eyes widened.

No… " He gape.

Tears were in Astrid's eyes and she pulled him into a hug, blocking the screen from his vision.

HICCUP: No. No.

[Hiccup and Toothless can't maneuver - they're dead in the air. The giant club tail CLIPS Toothless, TEARING Hiccup from the harness and sending him tumbling against the backdrop of the fast-approaching fireball. Toothless STRUGGLES with all his might to reach the unconscious Hiccup. But the fireball swallows them both.]

Tears threaten to spill over the Vikings faces as they watch the scene with horror and sorrow, Hiccup looks indifferent knowing Toothless will survive the encounter while Toothless looks ready to cry himself- he hopes he can get to Hiccup on time!
