Chapter 29 Peace with The Dragons.
INT. STOICK'S HOUSE - DAY CLOSE ON
The vikings gasp at the scene that greets them.
[HICCUP, asleep, his head on a pillow. Healing scars on his face show that maybe a week or two have passed. Toothless hovers over him, WHINING and GRUMBLING impatiently.]
Impatient much, Bud? " asked Hiccup, earning a grumble from the dragon.
HICCUP: (GROGGY) Oh, hey Toothless.
Tadashi rolled his eyes. " As if it's the most natural thing in the world to have a Night Fury in your house. " He says Sarcastically.
[Toothless excitedly nuzzles and nudges Hiccup.]
Toothless does the same thing to his Hiccup making the boy and the girl still in his arms laugh.
The two notice their embrace and quickly let go of each other, trying to hide their blushing.
HICCUP: Okay, okay! I'm happy to see you too, bud. Now just-
[Toothless steps on his groin, causing Hiccup to sit BOLT UPRIGHT with a YELP.]
All the males winced. The girls giggled.
[He looks around, confounded. He's in his bed, moved beside the fire pit on the main floor of his house.]
Very good observation! " Fred muse.
Indeed Excellent powers of observation, Detective Hiccup. Anything else to deduce? " Tuffnut said, pretending to hold a pipe. Hiccup rolled his eyes.
Yes. I deduce that you are an idiot. " he retorted, and the Teens laughed.
HICCUP: I'm in my house.
You don't say? " Stoick chuckles.
HICCUP: (Turning to Toothless, leaning over him, excited) You're in my house.
Dad one comment and I swear to Thor- " Hiccup groan as Gobber turn to Stoick.
Gobber stroked his mustache. " What about that, ey? " He teases as He eyed Stoick with a smirk making the chief chuckle in amusement.
As for Everyone they started laughing, even Val.
HICCUP: Uh, does my dad know you're here?
[Toothless TEARS around the room, knocking things over, far too big for the space.]
Well letting him in was a mistake. " Stoick sighs.
You can say that again! " Hiccup says.
[Brimming with happy-dog-energy, Toothless bounces around the room, knocking quite a few things over before jumping up onto a beam, and glancing at Hiccup.]
Stoick and Hiccup immediately groan at the dragon who only laughed in return Valka and Astrid Joined in.
Awww! Toothless is adorable! " Astrid cooed, petting the large dragon on the head.
While Hiccup gave a long-suffering sigh. Toothless whacked him in the head with his tail gently. " Hey! " This causes Astrid to laugh at the duo.
HICCUP: Okay, okay... No, Toothless! Aw, come on...
[He shifts into a sitting position, and stops. Toothless watches him, tilting his head slightly. Something is off.]
Everyone waited in anticipation.
[And as he lifts the blanket off of his bed, his face drains, overwhelmed. All at once.]
What is it? " Exclaims Elsa worried.
As for Everyone looked at the boy, worried.
The ones from the future smiled at him with pity.
Losing a limb is hard, but that never stopped Hiccup.
[He puts his foot down...]
The tension in the room increased ten fold. Stoick stared intently at the screen, unconsciously wringing his hands.
ON THE BARE FLOOR
[His booted foot touches down. Followed by a mechanical prosthetic in place of his second leg. It's an ingenious spring-loaded replacement, made of wood and iron.]
Oh my Thor. " Val said, putting a hand over her mouth. Astrid and the others gaped at the screen, and Hiccup's eyes widened as he looked down at his best friend.
We're two peas in a pod now, bud. " he whispered, and Toothless gave him a gummy grin.
Everyone from Old Berk all turn pale and silent as Astrid, Stoick and Gobber all gape.
No, no, no, no. " Stoick had his head in his hands, his face as white as a ghost as he shook his head. Gobber next to him was shocked to silence as so many looked at Hiccup Sadly and with guilt.
Dad, look I'm fine- look at me! " Hiccup says standing up showing both his perfectly intact legs. It just made Stoick paler.
I'm fine with it- I was aware of the consequences when I fought Red Death and if I'm okay with it so should you! " Proclaim Hiccup.
Hiccup! You've just lost a leg! " Astrid exclaimed.
Lad, when I lost my first limb I was 26! You're a teenager! " Gobber exclaims.
Gobber, I'll be fine! Trust me. " Hiccup assures him as they continue to watch it.
[Toothless lands by the bed and approaches calmly, sniffing the new leg. He raises his eyes to meet Hiccup's, seemingly aware of what Hiccup is going through.]
Not too shabby. " Hiccup said trying to lighten the mood.
Cheeky little- " Gobber smiles, seeing the Hiccup flair he added.
[Hiccup braces himself on the bedpost and tries to stand on it. He winces and stifles the pain...]
Gobber smiled up at his apprentice.
I was de sam' way, laddy! Ya get used te it! And knowin' how stubborn and boar-headed ye are, nothin' is stoppin' you! " Gobber Exclaimed.
Hiccup gave his mentor a genuine smile.
Thanks, Gobber. " Hiccup thank his mentor.
The one-legged, one-armed man saluted him and turned back to the screen.
[Approaching slowly, Toothless sniffs the contraption, then raises his head to gaze at Hiccup. Pushing against the bedpost, he stands, taking a deep breath. He steps with his injured leg, limping badly. As he takes another, his leg gives out and he falls onto Toothless, who props him up.]
Gobber sighed, becoming somber. " Again I'm not gonna lie, lad. It's going to be hard. But you're going to make it. I know it. " He said as Hiccup nod.
Oh, I know Gob, Thanks. " Hiccup gave his Mentor a soft friendly smile..
HICCUP: Thanks bud.
[He put his weight on Toothless, using him as a crutch. As they make their way to the door, Toothless's tail and Hiccup's prosthetic are highlighted.]
Grinning at Toothless, Hiccup nudged him and said, " Hey bud, look. We match. " Stated Hiccup with pride.
[Hiccup leans on him like a crutch. They take a few steps together. Their missing parts form a poetic silhouette as they make their way toward the door. Hiccup pries it open (as he did in the opening scene), revealing a MONSTROUS NIGHTMARE flapping outside the door.]
A dragon raid? " asked Wasabi in confusion. " But I thought- " I cut him off.
Ssshhh, Just watch. " I said smiling.
This feels like Deja Vu. " Muse Jack as Tuffnut snickered.
Yeah, Just like in the first scene! " Tuffnut said, and the others nodded.
( Note: You know now that I think about it does like a foreshadowing since The very Beginning of the movie it makes perfect sense. )
[Hiccup YELPS and slams the door closed. He turns to Toothless, alarmed.]
Fishlegs let out a high pitched squeak, commenting, " I was not expecting that! " He proclaims to himself.
HICCUP: (CONT'D) Toothless? Stay here, bud.
Dagur looked around in confusion. " Uhhh
... Brother? Wouldn't it have been better if you let 'The Offspring of Lightning and Death Itself' go first rather than a scrawny Viking like you? " Dagur asks Confuse.
Hiccup blushed and rubbed the back of his neck.
I guess I just got so used to protecting him and keeping him a secret that I forgot ... " He Explained Embarrassed.
Astrid snorted at his embarrassment only to cover her mouth as both she and Hiccup started to laugh.
[Cracking the door open, he peers out. The Nightmare is still there... but Snotlout was riding it!]
SNOTLOUT: Come on guys, get ready! Hold on tight, here we go!
Hey, look at that! I got the Nightmare. The best one, obviously! " Snotlout proudly said. Both the vikings, dragons and everyone in the Theater all groaned.
Though Hiccup smiles as he sees his friends accepting dragons and working with them- its all he ever wanted.
As for GoGo she smirked a little. Maybe he was capable of doing something nice!

Many of the Vikings were shocked. " No way. " Fishlegs said, grinning.

Portable welding torch. " quipped Hiccup, much to the annoyance of Astrid's dragon.
HICCUP: I knew it. I'm dead.
[Stoick laughs.]
STOICK: No, but you gave it your best shot.
Stoick pales at the reminder but he's still happy it's now something people can joke about openly.
[He puts his arm around Hiccup, steadying him. He gestures to the transformed village.]
STOICK: So? What do you think?
Hiccup looked from his father, to the movie screen, then back to his father, gaping the entire time. Stoick smiled slowly.
[Hiccup just shrugs, amazed. Below, the plaza, villagers take notice.]
VIKING #1: Hey look! It's Hiccup!
The rare species of Viking which is scrawny, sarcastic and has a hero complex. " Chuckles Snotlout.
I don't have a hero complex! " Hiccup exclaims.
You do. " Says the hall, Hiccup does the mature thing and sticks his tongue out.
[They rush over, surrounding him with a hero's welcome.]
VIKING #2: Hiccup, how you doin' mate?
VIKING #3: It's great to see you up and about.
Hiccup's smile only grew bigger. He's not an outcast anymore! This is the best. Day. EVER!
Unbeknownst to him Valka found herself snogging Stoick After seeing this Stoick really does have a capable of changing!
STOICK: (SWEETLY) Turns out all we needed was a little more of... (GESTURES NON-SPECIFICALLY AT HICCUP) ... this.
Astrid said, " He did say that, 'This much vikingness, contained, there would be consequences!' " while flexing her arms. Hiccup blushed bright red causing Everyone to laugh.
Who cares? That's... awesome! " Hiccup said, grinning happily. Stoick looked at his happy son hopefully. Hiccup turned his gaze back to his father, and this time it wasn't full of hate, and hurt. It was a look full of love and forgiveness. Behind him, Val smiled at him, nodding her head. For Stoick, it was the greatest moment of his life. His family had forgiven him. Then Toothless looked up at the chief, and gave him a gummy grin, which Stoick gladly returned (except, you know, with teeth.)
HICCUP: (PLAYING ALONG) You just gestured to all of me.
GOBBER: (O.S.) Well. Most of you.
Stoick rolled his eyes playfully and smiled at his friend.
Always one for pointing things out. " Joke Stoick.
Gobber winked at him. " YA know it, buddy! " Exclaimed the Smith.
[Gobber pushes through the crowd, beaming proudly.]
GOBBER: (Gestured to the prosthetic leg) That bit's my handiwork. With a little Hiccup flare thrown in. Think it'll do?
Hiccup squinted at the contraption. " I'll work on it. " He earned a few laughs from the Vikings.
HICCUP: I might make a few tweaks.
Once again, Hiccup blinked in surprise, More laughter erupting from the audience.
Hard to believe that just a few minutes ago everyone was crying their eyes out because they thought Hiccup was dead.
Crazy world, right?
[Pushing through the crowd, Astrid comes up to Hiccup and punches him in the arm.]
ASTRID: That's for scaring me.
Astrid's eyes widened. That's what she had said to Hiccup, not ten minutes ago! But she saw Hiccup playfully glared at her.
Hiccup glared at her. " Really?" He huffed and rubbed his arm as he had felt her punches before. " Why do you always result to violence? " He asked.
Astrid smiles an innocent smile and smirks at the boy.
It isn't violence, Hiccup. It's communication! " She playfully mock who pout as we all laugh.
It's time. " I thought smirking.
HICCUP: What, is it always going to be this way? Because I-
[She grabs him aggressively...]
Add aggressive to the list. " Hiccup chuckles
Uh oh... " started Elsa and Anna.
[Astrid kisses him, cutting him off. Looking stunned, Hiccup continues.]
The crowd hooted and hollered along with the one on screen.
Hiccup blushes and turns to speak to the girl beside him only to be pulled into a kiss.
Stoick smiled and looked towards to both Valka and Gobber who were both chuckling.
Guess I'll be getting grandbabies after all. " He said Causing Said couple to hear and blushes at that but cuddle as Valka Laugh.
HICCUP: ... I could get used to it.
Hiccup grinned. Astrid blushed as Everyone cheered. Stormfly and Toothless looked down at their friends expectantly.
The two looked at the dragons nervously.
{What?} " Hiccup asked, face a bright red and rubbing the back of his neck with one hand and the other still holding Astrid's.
{Grandbabies!} " They Telepathically said To the two
( Oh right if you must during or after the Torture of Snotlout I made everyone who bonded with their dragons had a mind link with their riders By using the mind stone so now they can communicate Through each others mind. )
The two blushed a brighter red and Hiccup groaned.
{Why do I have to have parents in two different species?} " He asked Telepathically as Toothless laid his head on his rider's lap.
{Get used to it, buddy. You are stuck with us.} " Toothless said back, causing Hiccup to groaned louder and Astrid laughed.
[Gobber presents Hiccup with a rebuilt saddle, rigging, and tail.]
Thanks Gobber! " Beams Hiccup, still blushing.
GOBBER: Welcome home.
Home, I think I'm really home. " Smiled Hiccup.
[Suddenly, Toothless pounces on the crowd, crushing several unsuspecting Vikings under his weight.]
The Vikings he had crushed grumbled. Toothless turned, and gave them each a gummy smile.
VIKING: Night Fury, get down!
Hiccup laughs. " Things never change. " The other teens laugh too.
More for foreshadowing.
[Toothless eyes the new tail excitedly, tongue wagging. Amidst the groans and grumbles, Hiccup and Astrid exchange a sheepish grin.]
[CLOSE ON Hiccup's prosthetic foot, snapping into the modified stirrup. The two pieces click together, forming a single shape. Astride Toothless, he's whole again. He rotates the pedal. The new tail opens. Bright red with a skull and Viking horns emblazoned on it. Hiccup approves. CUT BACK TO REVEAL... Hiccup and Toothless, saddled up and ready to fly. Astrid backs her Nadder into position.]
Heather gave him an odd look. " First thing you do after waking up from a coma and finding out you're missing a limb is riding a dragon with your girlfriend. If that isn't crazy, then I don't know what is! " She Exclaimed as Hiccup laughs.
Well, befriending a dragon is also crazy. I'm just a crazy person. " He said.
I snorted. " More like insane. " I said.
Hiccup smirked and rubbed his chin, pretending to be thinking hard.
Yeah. Hiccup the Insane! Has a nice ring to it! " I smirked.
How about Deranged? " I asked Hiccup thought for a moment, then frowned.
Hiccup the Deranged. Nah. That sounds more of a title for Dagur. I'll stick with Insane. " He said. I laughed so hard and Dagur simply cheered.
CUT BACK TO REVEAL...
[Hiccup and Toothless, saddled up and ready to fly. Astrid backs her Nadder into position.]
A race? " Asked Hiro. Hiccup and Astrid nodded in anticipation.
Another foreshadowing I guess. " I thought.
HICCUP: (TO TOOTHLESS) You ready?
[Toothless SNORTS an excited 'yes!' From his mount, Hiccup looks out over the changed world.]
HICCUP: (V.O.) (CONT'D) This... is Berk. (BEAT) It snows nine months of the year... and hails the other three.
We get the worst weather. " Moans Fishlegs.
As a Certain Ice mage and Ice Spirit said.
You're welcome. " snarked Both Jack and Elsa, while everyone laughed, figuring out Elsa was the Ice Queen while Jack was the winter spirit.
[They LEAP into the bright blue sky, together as one. Astrid follows, giving chase.]
HICCUP: (CONT'D) Any food that grows here is tough and tasteless. The people that grow here are even more so.
And after all we've went through. " Tuffnut sighs.
Tadashi eyed Hiccup nervously. Hiccup laughed. " Don't worry, it's a joke. " Asked Astrid Nodded at this.
You got that right. " Astrid said, grinning.
As for Spitelout was covered with his new dragon's wings when he glared down at his nephew.
Why must you talk bad about us? " He groan.
Hiccup first sniggered when he looked at how weird Spitelout with a dragon looked and then shrugged.
It's true isn't? " He roasted him back.
I jumped up from my seat. " Burn! " I laughed.
[Hiccup and Astrid race their dragons through the village - under eaves, over rooftops, down cliff-sides, and between ship masts. It's a high energy, romantic dance of sorts.]
HICCUP: (CONT'D) The only upsides are the pets. While other places have...ponies or parrots, we have...
Stoick and Gobber snigger. " Ponies? Parrots? Seriously? " Gobber cackle.
We have horses. " said Elsa.
Chameleons. " said Rapunzel.
Robots and house cats. " Guess who.
Monsters and Aliens? " I Shrugged they all give me a Weird looked. " WHAT?! " I said And they Turn back To Hiccup who gave a smile.
Dragons. " said Hiccup, sighing in love for the creatures.
[Their fellow recruits join them as they take to the open sky, rocketing far above the village. The Northern sky swirls with blazing, multicolored dragons. Hiccup and Toothless break from the pack, spinning into the blinding sun.]
HICCUP: (V.O.) (CONT'D) (PROUDLY) ... dragons.
[Fade to White.]
Everyone cheered, clapped, and hollered. The movie was finally over.
Astrid grabbed Hiccup by the tunic and pulled him into another kiss. Vikings jumped and danced around. Dagur grabbed Heather and spun around making her look creeped out. Viggo politely clapped with a smile while his brother scowled. Mala and Throk were standing up, clapping and cheering on their friend.
Okay guys Were not done Yet. " I smirk as they gave an odd look.
What Do you mean? " Hiccup.
Before we totally end we will have a a few more clips regarding the Monsterverse. " I said, causing to gasp in Realization. " And then we will have a 30-minute intermission. Please feel free to mill around and visit. No killing anyone. " I Reminded them.
