Chapter 50. Ground the Dragons.
INT. BERK - DRAGON STABLES - MOMENTS LATER
[Stoick rushes down a circular stone staircase into the vast, bustling cave that houses the dragon stables.]
STOICK: GROUND ALL DRAGONS!
"WHAT? WHY?!" Yelled H, Hicc and Hiccup.
While Chief and Older Hiccup look on guilty.
However their Astrid squeezed their hands which caught the others near them notice and confused them on why The Older Hiccups looked Destress.
"Yeah, Because of some faraway land causing some trouble?" Anna asked.
"I don't think this is just that." Elsa told her sister.
"Yeah from the sound of his voice and the fear of his expression, something tells me between Chief Stoick and that Dargo guy has some serious history." Jack said Ignoring The glare from said Mad man when he incorrect his name.
"It's probably something Dark and personal knowing what kind of man Drago is." Eugene said.
"Oh you have no Idea." I sigh.
HICCUP: What? Why?!
Others nodded as well in confusion.
[Hiccup, Astrid, Gobber, and Toothless chase after Stoick.]
STOICK: SEAL THE GATES! LOWER THE STORM DOORS!
HICCUP: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait! What is happening?
GOBBER: You heard the man! Lock it down!
Valka looked down in approval of her husband's decision.
"Okay…. I understand the needs of preparing but wasn't a bit over reacting?" Anna asked, confused.
"As much as I hate to agree with her, she's right." Kristoff nodded.
"Look, Chief Stoick preparation is one thing but the way you're doing it it's Paranoia." Hiro stated as a sigh came from Stoick knowing their right.
[Behind him, the massive storm doors rattle as they're lowered.]
STOICK: No DRAGON or VIKING sets foot off this island until I give the word!
HICCUP: Because some guy you knew is stirring up trouble in some faraway land?
H, Hicc and Hiccup all looked at Stoick for an explanation.
And blinking at the same words Anna uses a while back causes them to look at her.
"You know what, I'm not gonna comment on that one." She said, crossing her arms.
[Stoick turns to Hiccup, gravely serious.]
STOICK: Because Drago Bludvist is a madman. Without conscience or mercy. And if he's built a dragon army... gods help us all.
The tension was rising, and quickly. Everyone's heart was beating fast. Drago smiled darkly at the fear he posed in the Vikings.
[Stoick continues on shouting orders, leaving Hiccup stewing.]
STOICK: Get them into their pens! Quickly!
[Hiccup chases around to confront Stoick.]
HICCUP: Then let's ride back out there. We'll follow those trappers to Drago and talk some sense into him.
STOICK: No. We fortify the island.
HICCUP: It's our duty to keep the peace!
STOICK: Peace is over, Hiccup. I must prepare you for war.
"WAR?!" Yelled Honey Lemon.
War? The villagers thought in a panicked frenzy. See, they had never been to war. The ongoing feud between vikings and dragons had taken up most of their time and weaponry.
"Alright that's a bit overkill." Shudder Eugene.
"I know but you'll know soon why my other me is acting this way." Stoick told them.
STOICK: Some minds won't be changed, Hiccup. Berk is what you need to worry about.
(BEAT)
A chief protects his own.
"That sounded important." Tadashi said.
"Yeah, it kinda feels like foreshadowing." Jack Frost Said.
"Oh, definitely important." Said Chief Hiccup quietly.
[Stoick heads off, calling out more orders...]
STOICK: (CONT'D) SECURE THE STABLES! LATCH EVERY STALL!
[leaving Hiccup eyeing Toothless as the storm doors close. Astrid approaches him, seeing the determination on his face.]
"Hiccup, don't you DARE!" Cried Stoick knowing what that look was.
"Really your gonna try and stop someone who had inherited both yours and Mrs. Dragon lady over there's stubbornness?" Jack snorted to Stoick, causing Valka to Giggle along with other chuckling.
"He got you there dear." Valka mused as Stoick Facepalmed knowing its True.
ASTRID: Hiccup, don't.
HICCUP: I have to.
[He gives her a quick peck on the cheek.]
"And of course he doesn't listen!" Yelled the chief, throwing his hands up in exasperation.
"Well like father like son?" Shrugged Beta as my Fellow Pack agreed.
All the younger Hiccstrids Blushed at the kiss but no one was too focused on that due to the intense Situation.
STOICK: THIS WAY! QUICKLY!
[Hiccup and Toothless BLAST PAST, heading for the exit.]
STOICK: HICCUP!
[They try to fly through one door, but it seals shut.]
HICCUP: Come on!
[Toothless spins around and DIVES through the gap in the second lowering storm door.]
STOICK: Hiccup!
[Astrid and Stormfly blow past Stoick and slip through the storm door before it shuts, leaving Stoick fuming.]
Stoick along with the Hoffersons huffed in exasperation.
"And of course my daughter would follow him." Muse Ulf Hofferson causing A and H blushed.
