Chapter 56. Having fun with Mother.

EXT. OPEN SEA - NIGHT

[Astrid and Stormfly circle a lone iceberg, being used as a rest stop for the Gang and their dragons. She lands with a frown, eyeing the distance.]

ASTRID: I don't like it. They should've been back with Hiccup by now.

RUFFNUT: I don't like it either. Eret son of Eret was the man of my dreams. My everything!

Eret groaned loudly, completely fed up with the female twin.

As for R, Ruf and Ruff were all starstruck again.

"Ugh!" T, Tuf and Tuff all groaned at the sight of their respective sisters fawning over this Eret.

SNOTLOUT: But, baby, I grew facial hair for you.

"Double ugh!" Ruf and Ruff both squirmed as Pre teen Ruffnut shuddered.

Though Ruffnut and Mrs. Ruffnut ( Pre Hidden World and Homecoming. ) Look both Smug as they are boy Dating/married to the same man.

[Fishlegs strokes his peach fuzz beard, meek and dejected.]

FISHLEGS: Me, too.

The two versions of each boys ( Pre HTTYD and RTTE ) were all horrified at the great lengths they had gone to woo Ruffnut.

"Okay, that is just gross!" Said R in disgust. ( Pre Teen Ruffnut. )

"I agree with that!" A, Shudder in agreement. ( Pre Teen Astrid

As for Heather she glared at her Shieldmaiden friend playfully who returns it with a grin.

ASTRID: What if Drago shot them down? What if they need our help?

(RESOLUTE)

We have to find them.

FISHLEGS: (NERVOUSLY) What? But Stoick said...

ASTRID: It doesn't matter what he said, if they've all been captured. Come on!

Stoick facepalmed. "Ah! It seems that there is someone who still listens to me!" Stoick sighs in frustration as Valka and Gobber pat him on both shoulders.

[She flies off, determined.]

EXT. ICE FLOES - NIGHT

[Eret's ship is beset by ice floes. The crew stirs on deck as he paces, grumbling, while nursing his head with a large chunk of ice.]

NO-NAME: Do we go back?

ERET: We've nowhere to go! Nothing to sell! And no heads to call our own, if we don't turn up with dragons and fast -

Drago sneered. 'Fear me.' He thought.

[He's suddenly scooped up in Stormfly's talons.]

ASTRID: Careful what you wish for!

A, Ast and Astrid all cackled, and Eret went pale while Cheers and shouts and shrieks of laughter erupted around the room.

As Pre Teen Snotlout gazed over at Pre Teen Astrid and smirking, and mouthed. "I wish Astrid would—" She shot him glare that promised pain, and he ceased his train of thought immediately.

UG (O.S.): ERET SON OF ERET!

"Wow… they can't just call him Eret?" H, remarked with his usual sarcastic tone. And A, smirk at that.

"You know, they could have just yelled out Eretson or something that isn't a bit mouthful." Pointed out Hiro.

"I kinda agree they don't need to yell Eret Son of Eret all the time." Agreed Wasabi.

[Nets whiz past as Astrid and the Gang rocket out of range.]

ERET: What is this?!

ASTRID: A kidnapping.

This Causes A, Ast and Astrid all giggles at the reference and Eret sunk into his seat.

[Ruffnut grabs his leg, clutching him possessively.]

RUFFNUT: Yay! Can he ride with me? Can he? Can he?

"Yes, please." R, Ruf and Ruff all sighed dreamily.

All versions of the male twin groaned at their sisters. Eret hissed in annoyance.

[Both Eret and Tuffnut groan in protest.]

ASTRID: You're gonna show us the way to Drago.

"Ohhh.. Astrid, not you too!" Moaned Ulf Hofferson worried.

ERET: And help dragon riders sneak into Drago's camp? Just kill me now.

Drago smiled a little. At least he could somewhat depend on Eret.

ASTRID: That can be arranged. Stormfly, drop it.

S, ( HTTYD 1 Stormfly ) Storm ( RTTE ) And Stormfly ( Httyd 2 ) all immediately dropped the fish that they just put in their mouths.

[In enthusiastic response, Stormfly pops open her talons, sending Eret plummeting. He wails and flails as he hurtles toward the ice far below.]

Eret looked horrified. Everyone roared with laughter.

ASTRID: Good girl! Stormfly, fetch.

The Nadder of this Timeline had leapt to her feet, running off. She soon returned with Eret hanging out of her mouth. Stormfly dropped the man in an undignified heap on the ground. Almost instantly, Ruff was on top of him, trying to get a peek at the muscles the man sported.

Theta or Lucy ( @Issy5316 ) bursting at the seams with laughter, paused the movie so the two girls could rescue Eret.

BV and GV ( @Hiccstrid-Smp2 ) then both help pulled Ruff off of Eret, struggling to hold the Viking teen in place. Tuff soon was there to help them and together the three got Ruff into her chair, Barf and Belch holding her down until I could hide Eret in the crowd. Ruffnut huffed unhappily. Astrid patted Stormfly, scratching the dragon's scales. Delta ( @Minero586 ) who got the remote started the movie again.

[She dives after him, just as enthusiastically. ON ERET, terrified, as the ground rushes up at him.]

ERET: ALL RIGHT! OKAY! I'LL TAKE YOU TO DRAGO!

Drago grumbled. As soon as he had his dragons and men back, he would give that trapper what he had been waiting for.

[Stormfly suddenly SNATCHES him out of his free-fall just before hitting the ice. Astrid giggles and cracks her knuckles.]

ASTRID: Works every time.

All the Hiccups laughed at that. And Everyone but Grimmel and the Warlords, who had not seen the first movie, got the reference and laughed as well.

A, and H, both fist-bumped, as Pre Teen Toothless rolled his eyes, obviously thinking: Yeah, and if I hadn't terrorized Astrid, you wouldn't know it works. H, chuckled again, scratching the Night Fury behind the ear plates.

EXT. SKY - EARLY MORNING

BEGIN MONTAGE

[Hiccup and Toothless follow Valka and Cloudjumper over a majestic fjord in the long rays of the low Arctic sun. Hiccup peers over his shoulder to see that a thick flock of dragons - nearly all of Valka's rescues - are close on their tail. He turns back to his mother, confused.]

"I- I thought we were going to eat?" Question H, As Delta aimed His remote at the floor, and a table laden with different ice creams popped up in each row. (I want this remote...) Everyone grabbed a spoon and a bowl and began dishing the ice cream of their choice, all while watching.

H, rolled his eyes. That's not what he had meant. As Lucy, Moon and GV all gave him mischievous smirks.

HICCUP: Hey, I thought we were going to eat?

H, had blinked at this while everyone laughed as pre teen Hiccup repeated himself.

VALKA: (with a mischievous grin) Oh, we are.

[She directs his gaze below, where in the choppy water of the fjord, a group of Seashocker dragons are corralling a dense shoal of fish near the surface. Suddenly, the Bewilderbeast rises from deep below, scooping the fish up in its vast mouth as its tusks break the surface. It breaches just below Hiccup and Toothless, giving them a fright before spitting the fish into the air and crashing back down into the sea.]

"Whoa!" came the chorus of everyone. Drago looked on in amazement. Who knew he could feed his dragons for free?

"You know I think we could fish enough for a year if we had that Dragon back home." Awe Fish.

"I agree with you fish." Exclaimed Hicc in awe as well.

[Valka laughs at Hiccup's surprise as the hungry dragons race for the flailing fish, scooping them out of the air. Hiccup gestures to Toothless to join in and he gladly scoops up a huge mouthful.]

H, sighed. "You are such a greedy dragon." And T, looked offended, even as he had a huge mouthful of fish from the now nearly empty basket.

EXT. SNOWY SHORELINE - LATER MONTAGE CONTINUES...

[Hiccup has his map spread out in the snow, explaining the various lands he's discovered during his explorations.]

HICCUP: And from Dragon Island, I found this archipelago...

[He looks up to see that Valka is no longer next to him, but she has sketched out the rest of the northern land masses in the snow, wowing Hiccup with just how far and wide she has explored.]

"Wow..." said Hiccup in awe.

[She returned to Hiccup's side with a smile. But his amazement is interrupted by Toothless joining in, drawing all over Valka's map with a giant icicle. Hiccup simply shrugs as his mother giggles, and Cloudjumper sneers.]

All the Toothless looked around for something to demonstrate their drawing skills, Cloudjumper huffed, and everyone (but Drago, Ryker, Krogen, Grimmel, Johann and The Warlords) all laughed.

EXT. WINDSWEPT CLIFF - LATER

[Valka and Hiccup rise on their dragons, carried skyward by a strong coastal wind that thrusts vertically up the shoreline cliff. One by one, dragons leap from the cliff and catch the strong updraft, popping their wings open like kites. They ride the wind and orbit around each other in a colourful, mesmeric dance. It's clearly a form of dragon play. Hiccup, lifted off of his saddle by the force of the wind, laughs giddily as he watches Valka walk across Cloudjumper's wing and onto several others, dragon-hopping from one to another, until she gracefully crosses Toothless from wing tip to wing tip.]

"Woah!" Cried Hicc and Hiccup while Chief and Older Hiccups grin and Valka laughed.

"Took the words out of my mouth." Jack Said and others agreed.

[She then drops out of sight, reappearing a moment later standing atop Cloudjumper.]

"Wow, incredible. I wanna try that out as soon as possible." Said an amazed H.

[Hiccup is in utter awe of her. Valka breathes in the frigid air. Let it out blissfully.]

VALKA: When I'm up here, I don't even feel the cold. I just feel...

HICCUP: Free.

[She smiles at Hiccup. He gleams back.]

VALKA: This is what it is to be a dragon, Hiccup.

[Hiccup LOCKS the pedals in the flared tail position and unbuckles himself. Valka watches, curious.]

"Don't you dare." A, Began to glare at H.

"Don't tell ME that! I'm not him!" Elsa gave him a look. "Okay, I am him, but not yet!"

This causes Astrid to glare at Hiccup.

"Hey this hasn't happened yet, blame him!" Hiccup from this timeline protests at Chief Hiccup who's a year older than Him.

"Hey don't get me involved in this!" Chief Hiccup pouted as Gen Hofferson give him a death stare.

"No more Solo flying with you once we got home babe!" Hissed Gen Hofferson as Chief Hiccup groan.

HICCUP: It's all well and good to call yourself a dragon.

"Not again!" Both moaned Stoick and H, at the same time.

[Hiccup RUNS OFF of Toothless, pulling his stowed wings.]

HICCUP: But can you fly?

"Actually I kinda am!" Grinned Jack as he began gliding causing The Hiccups to roll their eyes at him as Hicc, Hiccup, Chief Hiccup and Older Hiccup Gestured to the wing maidens. "They don't count guys." He turned to them and said, "No offence Ladies but real flying means you have to fly on your own by letting the wind take you." He told them.

"No offence taken young Spirit of Winter." Atali said in understanding because she felt like the Spirit of Winter might had been flying with the wind for a very long time which is why she can't argue with that.

[They catch the air, SNAPPING OPEN... and sending him GLIDING.]

[Valka GASPS, astonished. Cloudjumper glances at Toothless, who looks smug, then drops the expression and quickly flies to Hiccup]

Cloudjumper causing the Hiccups rolled their eyes, while their Toothless all looked embarrassed as Luna ( Light Fury. ) laugh.

[She flies her dragon alongside him, marvelling, as... ... Hiccup SOARS, riding the wild air currents like an eagle, the image of freedom. Toothless descends steadily with him, hovering protectively. Hiccup grins, pleased at having impressed Valka... until he realizes that he is once again racing toward a collision with a fast approaching mountain top.]

"Man, you have the worst of luck!" Snickers S. ( Pre Teen Snotlout. )

"Thank you, thank you, I try." Was said Drily back at him.

"Yeah, he has the worst luck." Shrugged Beta. ( @Dynasty0612 )

"True, but at least he still lives. So it isn't that bad." Added BV. ( @Hiccstrid-Smp2. )

"It is true though." Shrugged A.

"Yeah, otherwise Hiccup would already be dead!" Sum up Ast.

"Thank you for summing that up!" Said All the Hiccups.

HICCUP: Oh no. Toothless!

[But, with his tail locked, Toothless can't make the tight jackknife turn skyward to rescue Hiccup. Realising that they're in trouble, Valka and Cloudjumper pour on the speed. All four of them collide just as they reach the mountain top, sending them crash-landing in an explosion of snow. They all TOPPLE head over tail to a messy landing on the wind- swept ridge and pop up LAUGHING.]

HICCUP: Man! Almost! We just about had it that time!

All the Toothlesses grumbled at this.

"Hiccup, you are so reckless." Hiro said.

"Yeah, You are doing more dangerous things then most people." Kristoff stated.

"Not that we even really do it!" I muttered only hard enough for them to hear.

[Toothless raises his snow-packed face, glowering. He tail- swipes Hiccup off of his feet and back into the powder. Valka inspects Hiccup's wingsuit with utter fascination.]

This Causes Some all to laugh from the audience.

As T, Tooth and Toothless all whacked their Respective riders in the head with their own tail again. "Ow! Toothless, stop it!"

Baymax looked at them. "On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your pain?"

"Zero."

VALKA: Incredible.

HICCUP: Well, not bad yourself.

[She caresses his cheek, staring deep into his eyes. Hiccup doesn't recoil this time.]

VALKA: All this time, you took after me. And where was I?

(REMORSEFUL)

I'm so sorry, Hiccup. Can we start over? Will you give me another chance?

Valka looked at him pleadingly. H, hugged her tightly while Hicc and Hiccup smile at her.

[Hiccup smiles, a simple acknowledgement that all is forgiven.]

VALKA: I can teach you all I've learned, these past twenty years. Like...

[Valka finds a spot at the top of Toothless' neck and rubs it in a circular pattern. In response, his dorsal blades slowly crack, split and extend, forming a pronounced, aerodynamic V' down the length of his back and tail.]

"Whoa!" H, Hicc and Hiccup all grin.

Valka reached over to do the same here, but an axe embedded itself into the wooden floor next to her. They jumped, looking over at me, who was standing from her throwing position.

"Sorry." I said. "But history has to happen the way it happens in the movie."

"Yes please no spoilers." Delta added.

VALKA: Now you can make those tight turns.

[Toothless shudders, as if experiencing a much-needed chiropractic adjustment. He bounds over to Hiccup, giddily retracting and splaying his dorsal blades like a kid with a new toy.]

HICCUP: Did YOU know about this?

T, Tooth and Toothless was staring, mouth agape before looking at Alpha and King Who both look smug as they did the same with their Dorsal blades.

However some notice that this hidden biology of Night Fury remembers a certain Kaiju that has similar Dorsal Blades.

"You know guys this reminds of Goji's Dorsals." H, pointed out.

"Now that you mentioned it, I felt like this was a reference or somehow making Night Furies a close descendant of Godzilla." Hiro agreed.

[Valka smiles, delighting in their mutual amazement.]

VALKA: Every dragon has its secrets.

[Toothless pounces around, showing off to Cloudjumper, who seems thoroughly unimpressed.]

Valka laughed at her dragon companion's annoyance.

VALKA: And I'll show them all to you. We'll unlock every mystery, find every last species, together, as mother and son.

(BEAT) This gift we share, Hiccup... it bonds us. This is who you are, son. Who we are. We will change the world for all dragons! We will make it a better, safer place!

[Toothless burrows under the snow, leaping out just beside Cloudjumper, causing snow to fill up the bowl-like impression on the Stormcutter's head. Cloudjumper tips his head, dumping the snow into a hat shape onto Toothless' head.]

Cloudjumper looked pleased with himself. Everyone giggled.

HICCUP: That sounds... amazing.

[She pulls him into a hug - forceful, bursting with emotion. Hiccup hugs Valka back. They share a cathartic moment, before Hiccup peels away from her.]

HICCUP: This is so great! Now you and I can go talk to Drago - together!

"Hiccup, are you still going on with that?" Said Astrid sighing as her other selves but Gen Hofferson and Chieftess Astrid agreed with her.

[She chuckles, incredulous.]

VALKA: What? There's no talking to Drago.

Stoick nodded agreeing with his wife. Of course there was no talking to Drago. I knew married her for more than just her cooking, damn woman still has those brains.

HICCUP: But we have to -

VALKA - No. We must protect our own.

[Hiccup stares, exasperated by the familiar line. Cloudjumper lumbers over, eager to be rid of Toothless' puppy-like energy. Valka pets him.]

H, Hicc and Hiccup all sighed, Cloudjumper groaned at the Toothless' on screen childishness.

VALKA: Now come on, we should be getting back.

[Before Hiccup can say anymore, he hear heavy breathing next to him, and looks over to see Toothless with a gaping grin, clapping his dorsal blades.]

H, Hicc and Hiccup facepalmed while everyone laughed.

"Awe he does look like a Giant Puppy." Awe Honey Lemon.

"Or a Cat!" Squeals Rapunzel.
