Chapter 62. A Fallen Chief
EXT. DRAGON MOUNTAIN - CONTINUOUS
[With his tail impaired, Cloudjumper struggles against a throng of oncoming dragons. Valka is knocked off, but manages to cling to her dragon's neck. As she loses her grip and FALLS... Stoick LEAPS from Skullcrusher and CATCHES Valka. He sinks his axe into an icy column, and they slide to a safe landing. Drago's Bewilderbeast presses closer, sniffing them out.]
"Phew, Z'at was close." Gobber breathed out. Stoick shared his sentiment. Too close.
[BACK TO HICCUP, spotting Drago on the battlefield, commanding the Bewilderbeast to finish the job.]
HICCUP: STOP!
[Hiccup lands Toothless a few paces from Drago and brazenly removes his helmet. Drago eyes him, incredulous, then begins to CHUCKLE.]
DRAGO: This... is the great dragon master? The son of Stoick the Vast? What shame he must feel.
H, looked down. Did his father feel shame? He looked up when a hand rested on his shoulder. Stoick was looking at him, smiling.
"You are not shameful to me, and never will be." He smiled at his father.
[Toothless snarls, ready to blast, but Hiccup calms him with a hand gesture.]
HICCUP: All of this loss, and for what? To become unstoppable? To rule the world?
[Drago smirks, nodding as if the idea appealed to him, and turns away from Hiccup.]
Everyone growled angrily. Another arrow. An axe. A heat Vision, and many lethal weapons from all of us could throw at him.
And unlike the others Sigma on the other hand was hurling another weapon which came to an end when I told him to 'save it for a few minutes'. That did nothing to calm everyone's nerves.
HICCUP: Dragons are kind, amazing creatures that can bring people together.
The rest of old Berk listened to his argument as well. It sure seemed like what he was saying was true…
Though many in the Pre Hidden World Timeline agree even Viggo I might add.
DRAGO: Or tear them apart.
[Drago LAUGHS mockingly, then removes his FALSE ARM, revealing a stump at his shoulder. Hiccup is taken aback.]
Gasps ran through the theatre. Drago growled.
"Well that was a turn in events that I wasn't expecting." Lout ( HTTYD 2 ) remarked, not quite grasping the tension in the room.
H, Hicc and Hiccup were all wondering on the other hand why Drago would want a dragon army when he was injured by one. It was clear that Drago didn't have a bond with the dragons like Hiccup did, so that couldn't be the reason. He was pulled out of his thoughts by Drago's backstory.
DRAGO: You see, I know what it is to live in fear. To see my village burned, my family taken.
[He reattaches the prosthesis, circling Hiccup menacingly.]
DRAGO: But even as a boy, left with nothing, I vowed to rise above the fear of dragons and liberate the people of this world.
HICCUP: Then why a dragon army?
DRAGO: (grinning, smug) Well, you need dragons to conquer other dragons.
"THAT'S THE BIGGEST LIE I HAVE EVER HEARD!" Yelled Hiro.
"Wow, real original dude great lie I might add!" Exclaimed Jack Sarcastically.
"Seriously dude that's one of the Biggest lies I ever heard!" Snorted Eugene.
HICCUP: Or maybe you need dragons to conquer people.
"THANK YOU!" A hand on his shoulder from Tadashi quieted him.
(BEAT)
To control those who follow you... and to get rid of those who won't.
"Classic 101 Villain Goal in their hand books." Muttered Fred which he gots some odd looks from the others. "What?! It's obvious he's one of these iconic Villains who had a desire to rule the world!" He argued and no one disagreed on that.
"That I can agree with you." Gogo said Popping another Bumblegum.
DRAGO: Clever boy.
[Drago grabs his bullhook and re-approaches Hiccup. Toothless readies himself.]
HICCUP: The world wants peace. And we have the answer, back on Berk. Just let me show you.
DRAGO: NO! Let ME show YOU.
H, Hicc and Hiccup were all taken aback. That was twice now! Usually people at least let either of them finish!
'Wow, just wow even Johann let him monologue or at least tried to persuade me.' Thought Hicc.
As for The villagers of old Berk all jumped slightly at Drago's outburst. But their heart rates didn't calm down afterwards, the situation too tense for them to return to a state of relaxation.
[Drago SHRIEKS madly, summoning the Bewilderbeast. Toothless circles Hiccup, protectively. ON THE BEWILDERBEAST, about to blast Stoick and Valka. It hears Drago's distant wails, and approaches obediently.]
STOICK: What...?
[Stoick follows its stare to the distant battlefield below. He spots Hiccup and Toothless a few paces from Drago.]
STOICK: (PANICKED) Hiccup!
[He rushes off. Valka follows, racing past Gobber as he finally joins them, winded from having run up the mountain.]
STOICK: Come on, Gobber!
GOBBER: Okay, change of plans.
There were giggles at the good-natured blacksmith.
Though Under normal circumstances Gobber would've made a witty remark about how he was running so much, but these were not normal circumstances, and he was far too worried about his little apprentice to care.
[He hurries back down the mountain after them.]
BACK TO DRAGO
[jabbing his bullhook into the ground commandingly. The Bewilderbeast flinches and stops, submissive.]
DRAGO: No dragon can resist the alpha's command. So he who controls the alpha, controls them all.
[Drago points to Toothless. The Bewilderbeast stares and HISSES, forcing Toothless to cower under a hypnotic ultrasonic broadcast or some kind of psionic Mimicry.]
( Note: Book 5 GVK foreshadowing )
The tension in the room was so thick a battle-axe couldn't cut through it.
[Toothless struggles against the alpha's command, writhing and grinding his head against the ground.]
Gasps of 'no!' flew around the room. Drago smirked. He could only see one end to this. Either the boy or his father died; he took the dragons, and got a Night Fury as a bonus.
HICCUP: Toothless? You okay, bud? What's going on?
[Toothless fights the command, shaking his head in protest. The Bewilderbeast insists, with a mesmerizing glare and a low, throaty grumble... until Toothless finally succumbs to its control. He raises his head, his stare vacant and robotic, as his pupils turn to slits. Drago then points to Hiccup. The Bewilderbeast responds, HISSING again at Toothless.]
Younger Toothless was whimpering, not being controlled in the theater, but watching himself being controlled was hard on him. Especially since he was supposed to kill Hiccup; his brother; his best friend…
As for Tooth and Toothless growls warningly at this.
While Alpha and King Toothless both look guilty at how they didn't try harder in shaking off Drago's Bewilderbeast's Command.
DRAGO: Witness true strength. The strength of will over others. In the face of it, you are nothing.
[Toothless slowly turns to face Hiccup. Advancing.]
HICCUP: Uh, what did he just tell you?
[ON STOICK Bounding across the ice, pushing himself to make it to Hiccup in time.]
Stoick was praying that he would get to Hiccup in time.
BACK ON HICCUP
HICCUP: Toothless, what's the matter with you? What're you doing?
[Hiccup is backed against fallen ice, with Toothless advancing mindlessly, and nowhere to run. Toothless opens his yawning mouth. Gas seeps from his throat.]
HICCUP: Knock it off! Stop! Snap out of it!
[Stoick barrels through ice formations and over war machines, racing against time.]
"DAD!" Screamed H, Hicc and Hiccup. They knew how this would end if this version of them didn't move.
"C'mon.." Chief Hiccup muttered to himself. "Move... move out of the way!"
HICCUP: Toothless! No! Toothless! Don't!
"I can't watch this, not again!" Both Chief and Older Hiccup said, as each of them turned and buried their heads in their Fiance/Wife's shoulders, who had both already taken to looking down at the floor in sorrow. While Cheiftess Astrid and Older Hiccup held their kids close to them to make them look away.
As for Valka she and Stoick held each but Despite this, comfortingly she ran towards her son the younger one and held him closely to her as she runs hands through her son's hair and soothingly rubbed his back. Younger Hiccup felt he couldn't watch it too, already having a feeling of dread in his stomach, but he couldn't force himself to look away.
The rest of Berk was anticipating the very worst, some already had tears in their eyes.
As for The RTTE Riders they held their breaths together along with This Current Timeline's Riders.
STOICK: Hiccup!
HICCUP: STOP!
STOICK: SON!
[Hiccup sees Stoick about to run into the fray.]
HICCUP: DAD! NO!
[Toothless BLASTS. Stoick leaps in front of it, shoving Hiccup out of the way and absorbing the blast in the process. He's thrown against the ice with great impact.]
There were angry shouts- not at Toothless, but at Drago. Younger Hiccup and Valka were hoping against hope that Stoick was alive. Stoick was stunned. He had just witnessed his own death! Elsa had icy tears dripping down her face, and many others were crying.
Jack along with many others we're all silent in shock.
The Vikings were staring in shock. All the Toothless gave a loud wail. Each knew better than anyone that no one could survive a direct blast that big- especially in such close proximity. And the ice that fell on him afterward had confirmed it. H, Hicc and Hiccup, Had all tears tracking down each of their cheeks, hugged their friend.
Me and the Pack all were radiating malice in Drago's direction.
[ON VALKA, hearing the blast, horrified. Drago glances back, seeing Stoick laying lifeless in the aftermath, pleased by the sudden turn of events. He shuffles off, satisfied. Stunned, Hiccup comes to and sees Stoick in the rubble. He rushes past the still-entranced Toothless, straining to scatter the ice boulders on top of Stoick's body.]
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!"
Came a terrifying yell came from most of their hosts' seats. Bullets, Daggers, Axes, arrows, and other weapons barely missed Drago.

While Epsilon ( @Velikan0945 ) Or Erik Haddock seemed to be desperately trying not to hit him.
Some aggressive energy had worn off, While Beta, Theta, Omnicron, Omega and Me all pulled every one of the weapons we used out of the wood, growling under our breaths at Drago the whole time. ( @Dynasty612, @Issy5316, @INFERN0VOLT, and @Dekiru_Midoriya. )
HICCUP: Dad!
[Valka arrives, winded and aghast.]
VALKA: Stoick...
[She helps Hiccup to turn Stoick's body over. Valka presses her ear to Stoick's heart, confirming his death with a mere glance to Hiccup. He tears up, overwhelmed.]
"NO!" Yelled H, Hicc and Hiccup all in angst.
They pulled their Toothless, who were all warbling sadly, closer to either of them. Then Hicc perked up.
"Hey guys!" Hicc Exclaimed. "We are watching the future! We can change what happens!"
I quickly paused the movie.
Beta or Boulder shook his head sadly. "I'm afraid not, Hicc." At this Theta Nodded.
"His right, You see. When you go back, your memory will be completely wiped of all things from this event." She explained as I added.
"And For H, Hicc and Hiccup, as soon as the second and third movies are over, they each will regain their memories." I explained.
"What about the Chief and Older Hiccup?" Jack asked.
"This events already happens to me, so there is no point of me getting my memories from getting erase." Answered Older Hiccup and those who came from the Homecoming Timeline all nodded.
"What Older Hiccup say is very much true when he and his friends got returned to their timeline after the other viewings were all shown they'll still retained their memories of this events, But for the rest of you, you have to wait for five years after your movie's events are over. That way, your age differences are the same." I added.
"Why do age differences matter?" Asked Anna, confused.
"Because," Began Epsilon. "We are going to give you miniature time machines so you can visit each other." Delta nodded at that.
"That's right, at Your age difference has to be the same as when you met." Then Sigma added.
"Which is why we summon alternate Realities or Timelines of every different version of the Riders instead, to prevent such chaos from happening." Omnicron Stated.
"Otherwise, the fabric of space/time will be ripped apart. But there is another reason for Stoick, especially. Anyone who dies in the movies will remember the movies in their last seconds of life. That way, they know what will happen to their loved ones." I then pressed play on the movie.
HICCUP: No... you...
[Gobber, Astrid, Eret, and the Gang arrive, slack-jawed. Satisfied, the Bewilderbeast turns away, releasing Toothless of the trance-like state. Toothless blinks, coming to and confused. He approaches the group, sniffing Stoick's hand. Hiccup SHOVES him.]
HICCUP: No! Get away from him!
The Hiccups were all each hugging their Toothless tightly.
"I'm so, SO sorry, bud. I don't mean it." Younger Hiccup said.
"Same with me bud, Please forgive me!" Chief and Older Hiccup both said and Their Toothless croon at them.
[Toothless recoils, innocently.]
HICCUP: GO ON! GET OUT OF HERE! GET AWAY!
Stoick was hugging all of them to him.
[Toothless retreats like a scolded dog, ear plates back and head hung low. Valka watches, broken-hearted, as Hiccup falls upon Stoick, inconsolable.]
VALKA: It's not his fault. You know that.
"Yes, I know that," Whispered H, to his Toothless. "I am so so so so so so so sorry!" Younger Toothless crooned, as if telling him his own apology. Stoick rubbed his son's back.
[On the battlefield, the alpha BELLOWS, calling all of the dragons to gather. Meatlug, Stormfly, Hookfang and the others all follow the command as the Gang calls after them.]
VALKA: Good dragons under the control of bad people do bad things.
[Drago notices Toothless tumble down a snow-bank, once again slit-eyed and entranced, but unable to fly to the alpha without a rider. Drago pins him down, eyeing the saddle, pedals, and prosthetic tail. ON HICCUP and VALKA In tears as Toothless rises into view, with Drago in the saddle.]
Hiccup gutterally screamed angrily at the screen. How DARE that madman take his dragon!
DRAGO: GATHER THE MEN AND MEET AT BERK!
"Rrrrrrghhhh..." Growled Stoick.
[His soldiers cheer in the thousands.]

[Hiccup tries to go after Toothless, but Valka holds him back.]
VALKA: No, don't!
[Drago JABS his bull hook and points toward the horizon. The alpha BELLOWS, commanding an exodus as it leads the way.]
DRAGO: Move out!
Seeing that both Chief and Older Hiccup were still much too distraught to lead the discussion, Gen Hofferson and Chieftess Astrid cleared their throat, wiped away their own tears and began.
"Well, um, any questions?" Chieftess Astrid asked, with a slight crack in her voice.
No one raised their hand, no one felt they should, out of respect for their chief. Stoick was still sitting stock still, eyes wide open and mouth hanging just slightly, enough for him to let out a shaky breath. Suddenly he came to, and turned to The two Older Astrids.
"Guess I know why I'm not up their with you's then?" He smiled slightly, trying to alleviate some tension. Both Astrids gave a regretful chuckles, squeezing the last few brimming tears from their eyes as they nodded.
"Dad," A small voice was heard. Stoick immediately turned his attention to his son. "Dad I- I mean I- What I'm trying to say is-"
"I know, son." Stoick offered reassuringly.
"I love you." Stoick smiled upon hearing Younger Hiccup say those words.
"And I love you, Hiccup. A-and I know I don't say it nearly enough and I hope you can forgive me for it. I'm proud of you, of everything you are, of everything you've accomplished and everything you'll go on to achieve. I'm proud to call you my son." he finished, near tears as he searched his son's face.
"Thanks, dad." Hiccup replied, his voice full of unspoken emotion.
Stoick turned to his wife, "Val, I know we didn't have very long together and I would do anything to change that, but I need you to know that I have always, always loved you, and I will never stop, not even when I pass into Valhalla."
Valka smiled and mouthed. "I love you." back to her husband, not trusting her voice.
Finally he turned to both Chief and Older Hiccup, who were both standing back next to their Fiance/Wife, tears still streaking down their faces.
"I'm so glad I get to live long enough to see you grow into the man, the viking, I'd always known you'd become. And I'm proud, so, so proud of what you've achieved."
"Thanks dad." Sob Chief Hiccup.
"I love you." Cracked Older Hiccup.
"I love you too, my son/s." They both hugged as for the Hiccup of this timeline he looks hopeful that they could somehow prevent this.
[Hiccup watches, powerless as all dragons TAKE WING and follow.]
The movie paused. Me and the Pack all stood up next to it.
"This is an important announcement! After this movie is over; the main characters and the Vikings will be allowed to punch Drago!" Then they pressed play again.
