DM The Mrs Clause Chapter 3

Next morning it was Christmas Day. Margo went to shake Lucy awake. ''Mom wake up!'' she shouted. Lucy groaned sleepily. ''Come and see all the neat toys!'' Margo shouted shaking her mom. ''Stop shaking me Margo!'' Lucy grunted. ''Come on Mom!'' Margo urged, ''Get up! It's Christmas morning!''. ''Great! Go make some coffee!'' Lucy muttered in her sleep. ''Come on Mom! Let's go!'' Margo shouted running off. Lucy heaved her heavy bones out of bed. She peaked through the curtains and heard the sound of jingling bells.

Then she hurried downstairs and out of the front door. Lucy looked at the spot where Santa had crash landed in the night. It was empty. Then she looked up at the roof. Lucy went back inside to where her daughters sat opening their presents around the Christmas tree and flopped down onto the crocodile couch. She exhaled deeply. ''Are you ok Mom?'' Margo asked coming over to Lucy. ''Yeah I'm fine, just fine'' Lucy replied quickly. ''Are you having a heart attack? I know CPR'' said Margo.

''No I was just'' Lucy began, but she hadn't the breath to say anymore. She turned to watch Agnes who was unwrapping a new giant unicorn toy and remembering how she sold her old one to another little girl. "IT'S SO FLUFFY, I'M GONNA DIE!" she shouted. Lucy smiled.

Then Gru walked in. He was confused why Lucy wasn't in bed with him. "Lucy! Where have you been?'' he said, ''Why weren't you in bed?". "I was sleeping walking, Gru. With Margo in tow" replied Lucy. "What?!" asked Gru. "No, we weren't, Mom! We were on a Christmas quest in Santa's sleigh!" Margo pointed out. "No, Margo, that was only a bad dream. A nightmare perhaps" Lucy said quickly desperate not to let Gru find out the truth. Margo wasn't convinced. "But, Mom, you know what had happened!" Margo protested. Lucy ignored her daughter's protests. "Margo, that's enough!" she said. "But..." Margo began.

But Lucy was having none of it. "I said enough, young lady! End of story! It's all a dream! Nothin' happened! Enjoy your gifts!" she snapped. One day in January of the New Year, Lucy felt heavier than normal when she woke up in bed with Gru. Suddenly her butt felt like it was gonna blow! Lucy quickly lept out of bed and ran to the bathroom and shut the door. The sound of a terrible wet fart filled the bathroom. "Urrrrgghhhh..." Lucy groaned. She felt very embarrassed! Then Lucy got up and washed her hands hoping no one had heard her. She saw her refection in the mirror over the sink and noticed she looked rounder than she normally did!

"AAAHHH!" screamed Lucy. Then she checked her weight on the bathroom scales. To her horror, she was heavier than she thought!

"Oh...what's happening to me? What is happening to me?!" wailed Lucy. She looked in the mirror again and screamed once more. "AAAAAAIIIIGGHHHHHHHHHHH!". To make matters worse, Lucy found that she couldn't even fit into her dress and had to wear Light blue shirt, dark blue sweat pants, black and white sneakers instead, Later that day at the AVL, Silas was making an announcement, "As you can see, we have a big situation with a criminal who plans to steal the profits of the mall. I need somebody who can volunteer to track him down". Lucy interrupted him. "Now, this year Santa ain't goin' out in a sleigh. Wait a minute! No way! No way Santa's going anywhere without his sleigh. He would if he's tryin' to sell the Total Tank. Well, isn't that a pretty picture. Santa's rollin' down the block in a panzer".

"That's enough, Agent Wilde!'' replied Silas, ''Right then'', he cleared his throat, "Now, where was I? Ah, yes. This important thing is that the mall is full of families with Christmas shopping. It's a very big challenge because the holidays are nearby". "Well, kids, l- I certainly hope you've been good through this'' said Lucy, ''Cause it looks like Santa just took out the Pearson home". Silas gave her a strange look. "AGENT WILDE!" he boomed. "Oh! Haha! Sorry. My bad. My baaaaaaaaad. Sorry 'bout that" said Lucy. "May I have a word with you outside please?" asked Silas. ''Yes Sir'' replied Lucy. She followed Silas outside.

''What's the matter with you?'' Silas demanded, ''You're even goofier than I ever imagined". "Well, duh! I'm always goofy!" said Lucy, making a goofy face and sticking her tongue out. Silas sighed heavily. He noticed Lucy looked a little bit out of shape. "You need some help. You should see like a doctor or a psychiatrist. Anything". After work, Lucy took Silas's advice and went to see the doctor for a health check. First, the doctor got Lucy started off on the treadmill. Lucy's bare belly hung out of her shirt and jiggled about as she ran. ''Ok Lucy, times up'' said the doctor, ''Come and check your pulse''. "Alright," panted Lucy, wiping away her sweats.

The doctor checked Lucy's pulse and said ''Huh nice Lucy! You're as healthy as a horse!''. "Yeah, Clydesdale." Lucy said. "OK," said the doctor, "look. So, what? You put on a little weight". ''A little weight?'' Lucy asked jiggling her belly, ''Does this look like a little weight to you?!''. Well, weight can fluctuate from year to year," added the doctor. ''Fluctuate?'' said Lucy, ''You make it sound a retail of water. I've been 49 pounds in a week!''. She sighed. "What's happening to me?!". The doctor hesitated. "I don't understand," she said. "Now, what's your diet like?" "Milk and cookies," replied Lucy.

Really?'' asked the doctor as she got ready to do Lucy's blood pressure. "But I don't finish all the milk," Lucy answered. ''Well there's your problem'' said doctor, ''Just try to cut back on the sweets ok?''. "Then I woke up in the morning and..." Lucy began to continue. "What?" asked the doctor. She couldn't hear Lucy's words because she was wearing her stethoscope.
