Wow, you guys! I finally managed to update! I've had this chapter planned for a while, or at least the beginning of it. I just didn't know how to finish the chapter, but I finally just wrote and ended up finishing! I'm so happy. I hope you like her!

A blast of cold wind and snow rattled the windows. I wrapped my coat around myself tighter and scooted a little closer to the fire.

"Furia," Artemis shivered beside me. "Let's do something. I can't just sit here freezing any longer." Long burns ran up her bare arms. She'd been one of the Capitolites who'd been out that day. Technically, so had I. But when the gifts fell, one had landed in the hands of a short lady right next to Artemis. Then everything had exploded and I had no memory of anything past that, except for the fact that somehow I'd survived without getting any burns and Artemis hadn't.

"Yes, please." Athena shivered. Her cheeks were flushed from sitting so close to the fire. She'd been spared from the horrors that day. The only reason was because she'd been so sick she couldn't get out of bed. A surge of jealousy shot through me. I wished I'd been too sick to get out of bed. I wished I hadn't been there that day. I hadn't slept in days because whenever I did sleep, nightmares of screams and burning bodies visited me.

I shrugged. "Yeah, okay. Let's explore."

Artemis and Athena's brows identically furrowed. "Where?"

I waved an arm around in the air. "Here. We've been here for almost a week and haven't seen half the rooms yet." Before, all of us had been living in Snow's mansion. My father was Snow's advisor and Artemis and Athena's mother was head game maker. As soon as my dad had been promoted to Snow's advisor, I had people all the time trying to become friends with me to reach my father. I didn't know who to trust. Artemis and Athena were one of the few who were sincere. I only knew because they went through the same thing.

I stood and stretched an arm out to Athena to help her up. The furs fell off her and she scrambled to pick them up and wrap them around her again.

The silence was eerie. No one else was here but us. One of the doors in the corner of the room rocked open with the wind and I walked towards it.

Past it was an old hall. Pieces of broken vase lay across the floor, and dust lay over everything. Stained, yellow canvases covered everything that wasn't broken, and the stench of rotting meat hung in the air. I gagged and pulled my coat over my nose.

Behind me, Artemis took in a shuddered gasp. She pointed towards a covered lump in the corner that looked suspiciously like a dead body. I shook my head and pulled her down the hall. Athena retreated back to the front room, her gray eyes already filled with tears.

When the Capitol was invaded, we'd been kicked out of the mansion. All the rebels took it for themselves. We were left to the abandoned buildings down closer to District 1. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to live here, especially not after what I'd just seen. These places were rumored to be haunted, to make matters worse. The story came to be a few years back when District 1 had decided to invade, and they killed all the people in these houses along the edge of the Capitol. That was as far as they'd gotten.

A glass fell off a shelf and shattered. Artemis and I jumped. "Let's keep going." I swallowed. I was starting to regret my idea of coming to explore.

The next room was filled with books. Thin shelves swayed from side to side, beneath the weight of the books. I pulled out one of the books. It was an old cookbook- 101 easiest recipes. I wasn't sure of the last time I'd even seen a book, but one this old was crazy.

In the distance, a door creaked open. Artemis jumped and ran towards the door. "My mom must be home!"

We hurried towards the main room, where Olympia had collapsed in a moth-eaten armchair. "I have awfully awful news." She sighed. Olympia was the most Capitolite out of all of us. I liked talking like the District folk more than Capitolites, even as disgusting as it was being like them. It wasn't our fault they'd tried to fight us and got themselves the Hunger Games. The Capitol ruled, or they had until a week ago.

"They're hosting a Hunger Games." Tears dripped down Olympia's pink face. I had watched the Hunger Games every year from the time I was a baby. District 13 was still hosting a hunger games? Something wasn't adding up.

"With who?" Athena whispered.

She looked around at all of us. "With us. The Capitolites."

That was why. Of course they wouldn't kill off their own people. They were killing off us. I dropped to my knees. It was karma. It had to be. That was the only answer. Because we'd made them do the Hunger Games, now they were coming back to bite us.

I didn't realize I was crying until tears clung to the end of my long, red hair. Why did this have to happen to me? Would my life be so short? There wasn't a guarantee I would be reaped, but if I was right about the karma, then I was due a trip to the area years ago.

"When is the reaping?" I asked, rubbing my nose. Olympia had buried her head in her hands. "Tomorrow." Came the muffled reply.

A day. I had a day left of my normal life. I had a day left before my life was at the beginning of its end. A day.

So there's Furia! I really like her character, and I can't wait to write the next character either! I love all the tributes I've been sent. If you have any tribute ideas, send them in! Well, that's all folks. See you all next time!
