It had been about ten minutes since he sat outside. The ward doctor was arguing with Hailay to find out how he felt.

Jay was there, watching the door to the room and what was going on inside.

But slowly he was overcome again by exhaustion, his eyes closed and he fell asleep again.

It was Hayley who gently woke him.

- Hey Jay, can you hear me? - she said, stroking his cheek gently.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked at her dazed. Initially he said nothing, then instead he said with a sigh:

- I must have fallen asleep ... -

- Yes, I would say yes. You must be really tired.- Hailey said

- I need a coffee. I have to get one with Will, he'll be back soon. Do you want to bring you something? By the way, what did the doctor say? - he asked

And after finding out about the detective's condition, he went off looking for his brother.

- Good morning Meggie, do you know where I can find Will? - Jay asked the nurse as he yawned.

- Everything good? Bad night? - she asked as she inquired about the doctor's whereabouts.

- Yeah, all right. In fact the opposite. I slept great tonight. But I don't know why I'm tired and sleepy.

- Maybe it wasn't enough for you.-

- Maybe, I've had a difficult couple of days ... - the detective speculated

The speech was interrupted by the arrival of Dr. Halstead who noticing his brother had approached the nurse's desk.

- Hey Jay. Meggie we take a break, let's have a coffee at the bar. If you need me...- Will said to his friend after greeting his brother.

And having said this, the two left.

- So, little brother, how are you? -Asks Will sitting at the coffee table with a nice cup of steaming coffee in front of him.

- All right,- he replied, rubbing his eyes and savoring his coffee.

- You look tired. Did you sleep tonight? You were still in the dream world this morning when I left for work. - asked the doctor.

Jay smiled and then replied:

- I slept like a baby. -

The two chatted for about ten minutes or so until Will's pager vibrated calling him back to work.

The doctor had tried to investigate how his brother was doing. What emerged was just that he had a bit of a cold from his cold when he found Hailey.

Will wished he had more time to find out more. Unfortunately, however, he had to go.

The two then finally said goodbye and the detective, at which point, he returned to Hailey and the two spent the time chatting and talking about this and that. Jay, despite his fatigue and cold, felt happy.
