Antonio and Adam, heard Jay's request for help over the radio, immediately started to insert the boy.

Meanwhile, the two headed towards the bank of the river that crosses the city of Chicago.

Halstead was after him trying to run as fast as possible. His whole body ached, he breathed with difficulty and felt fatigued from the slightest effort. Not to mention the cough that gradually that day had gone from dry to greasy full of phlegm.

He had been coughing incessantly for days now, but he hoped that with the passing of the days this would improve, but it had not been so.

He assumed it was a common cold, but the more days passed, the more he realized that it wasn't. However, he thought it was not necessary to ask for help, he did not believe it was anything serious.

Despite how he felt, however, he wanted and had to do his job as best he could.

He kept running after the boy when the latter climbed onto the bridge to jump into the river. He was about to jump when Jay grabbed him by the ankle. Falling from there he would surely be able to escape by swimming. Halstead wanted to stop him, plus he would do anything to avoid taking another bath.

The detective tried to hold on by supporting with one arm initially and then with two the leg of the market. He felt severe pain all over his body, in the arms from the effort he was making and in the chest from the cough, which he also felt a sense of oppression.

As he tried to support the man's weight by holding his ankle with all the strength he had and thanks to the adrenaline, in his mind he hoped and prayed that his colleagues would arrive soon to help him.

The boy was starting to squirm anyway because he wanted to be let go, only adding to the detective's difficulties.

Luckily he didn't take long for Antonio and Adam to get close to the bridge and for a few moments they observed the situation before intervening.

Jay gritted his teeth, he was very pale in the face and he was very sweaty as if he had run a marathon.

Ruzek and Dawson immediately grabbed the boy dangling from the deck, pulled him up and handcuffed him. Then Adam took him with him to to the sergeant and go to question him in the district, instead Antonio remained to help his colleague.

Jay lay on all fours panting.

Shortly after he was caught yet another coughing fit that made him vomit on the ground what he had in his stomach along with phlegm.

He stood with his back against the bridge wall to recover a bit and it was at that moment that he noticed that Dawson was silently sitting next to him.

- Hey Jay, how's you going? - asked the latter

- I'm fine ... I just have to ... catch my breath,- he replied panting.

- This boy destroyed you,- he said jokingly the senior detective

- I'm a little out of shape,- Jay explained.

Shortly after, holding on to his colleague's arm, he got up and once he felt stable enough to move they headed for the rest of the group.

He was very pale and had Heidi-like cheeks, pretty red.
