The detective's sleep was greatly disturbed. His whole body ached, especially his chest. With each cough, this seemed to tear apart.

Although he was dressed heavily and covered up to his hair, he was shaking like a leaf, and he was frozen.

He hardly ever moved out of bed. He tried to stay as still as possible to try to feel less pain, the muscles tugging all over his body. This was accentuated by the effort made with the thug they had arrested thanks to him, despite not being 100%.

Jay only forced himself to get up when he felt the need to throw up. With great willpower he was dragged several times out of the bedroom by bending over the toilet to empty his stomach where there was now nothing.

Most of the time, however, he had been asleep, an annoyed and unrefreshing sleep.

It was the next day that things got even worse.

Around 5:40 am the detective woke up with a start. The sun hadn't risen yet, and Jay was sitting in the middle of the bed. He was sweating, his heart was beating fast, he was panting trying to get as much air into his lungs as possible.

All of a sudden it was difficult to do this, even though it was something that usually happens automatically.

His breaths were shallow and there were rales very well.

Shortly after, however, it is not known how, it all ended.

Jay must have passed out. He had lost consciousness, then passed, after falling back into bed with a dead weight, to a much needed and sought after deep sleep. At least it seemed so.

Throughout the day he had difficulty breathing several times. He was out of breath and short of breath. He had more or less pronounced coughing fits that took away even more his ability to breathe and every time they passed he felt more exhausted and often went back to sleep.

The day, however, passed. He got up several times because of the nausea that gave him no respite and then after sitting on the ground every time for a while, after finishing vomiting, leaning against the tiles, shivering from the cold, he went back to crouch under the covers.

He felt worse and worse, his head seemed to be bursting. It really hurt him. He certainly had a fever and perhaps very high.

Hailey and the other colleagues from the previous evening, were talking on the phone to organize a trip to do all together given the day off they would have.

The group was also persistently trying to contact Jay, but he seemed to have disappeared into thin air.
