He walked to his apartment. It was a miracle he remembered his way back but it was most likely muscle memory that got him there. His mind flashed back to how Eames was behind him urging him to hurry and how he got the door opened in record time to finally throw Eames up against it and having her fast and hard. He closed the door and groaned at the discomfort of his present erection. He fell into his couch and freed himself. He thrusted into his fist a couple times thinking of her but ultimately couldn't get into it and gave up.

He rubbed his face with his other hand. Fuck. I'm a fucking mess. Then, he decided to cool off and clear his head. He jumped in the shower to help him gain more control of his faculties and he needed to rid himself of the odor that was reminiscent of a brewery. He threw on some jeans and drank a large glass of water and some black coffee. He hated the feeling of thirst so he always drank plenty of water since Tates. He thought briefly of going to her place but he was in no shape and the thought of hearing them or seeing him leave would kill him.

She drove by Goren, ensuring he got home safely. Maybe he just needs to sleep it off. When he made it inside, she parked. She stayed outside the apartment complex thinking. She didn't want to go home but she didn't really have a plan for what she was going to do next.

She looked at her reflection in the rearview mirror. Why is this so difficult for us?

We have to work through this. Things at work had become bitter and they weren't in sync anymore. She blamed the Captain and Chief of D's for steering them to this course of action. She blamed Bobby for deciding now was the best time to follow their "rules." She felt like they deliberately wanted to drive a wedge into their partnership. She was angry that he chose the job over her. Didn't she matter to him at all?

She hated even more that she could have pulled the trigger and killed the man she loved deeply. She didn't want to feel the pain of losing yet another lover and being alone. He knew me better than anyone. He should have known this would have put me in this unforgivable position. But now? She just wanted to break free from her anger.

She breathed out and scrunched her lips as she couldn't help to grab her phone. She dialed Goren's number. He didn't pick up.

Not the first time. She waited about half hour longer, hoping that if he didn't answer, it probably meant he was sleeping. That would be a good thing but he picked up the second time.

Goren: Alex?

Eames: Yes. Did you get home okay?

Goren: How was Peter?

She rolled her eyes. Of course that's what he's concerned with. she pinched the bridge of her nose before responding.

Eames: I guess you are okay. (some silence passed between them.)

Goren: Yeah, I am. Look, I'm sorry about earlier, everything. That was not okay. I get it I'm not a..

He was mid ramble when he heard someone knock on his door. Goren reached for a shirt and pulled it over his head.

Goren: hold on...someone's at the-

He opened the door and was caught off guard.
