Dr. Halstead was desperately trying to save his brother.

He had entered the hospital to seek help and found himself only trying to lift his brother and put him in the wheelchair that he had taken independently without asking anyone's permission.

Jay was not light and having passed out his entire weight, which seemed to have doubled, fell on the doctor.

Also, Will was tired and in pain. The back stressed by the sudden weight had started to send pangs of pain that Will, however, promptly ignored.

He made a tremendous effort to lift his brother's body and almost fell backwards overwhelmed.

But there was something he hadn't noticed.

Shortly after he entered the Ed, Dr. Rhodes and Nurse April emerged from the medical room.

The former had forgotten something in his locker and returned for it, the latter had just finished his shift.

They were heading for the exit to get into their cars and go home chatting amiably, when they stopped watching the scene unfolding in front of them.

Will was in the ER center. He was on his knees crying desperately for help.

They were about to rush to him when they saw him get up, quickly grab a wheelchair and run out of the Ed.

His behavior wasn't normal at all, it was really weird. The two, however, immediately realizing that something had happened to him, looked at each other and ran after him.

Dr. Halstead wasn't all that far from them.

Both April and Connor had tried to call him, but he didn't seem to hear them.

The only way to understand what was happening was to follow him.brake

When he reached the car, Will had approached the passenger side and after putting the to keep the wheelchair stationary he opened the door and got almost completely into the car.

since

Grabbed his brother pulled him on him, he had collapsed and after taking his arms and throwing them behind his back I try to pull him on him by putting his hands behind his back.

Once he got back out of the car, his back sent a stab of excruciating pain that made him stiffen, but he didn't give up on his goal which was to lay Jay in the chair and get him inside as soon as possible.

Immediately Rhodes stepped forward, Will couldn't do it alone. The colleague also noted that the doctor must have had some physical problem.

Without thinking twice then she approached him alongside him to the left of him and, after smiling at him in a reassuring way when he met Halstead's gaze, took half the weight of the Detective. The two managed to fix the young man and immediately April, who hadn't been noticed before by the red-haired doctor, started pushing the wheelchair into the emergency room.

Will then looked his colleague in the eye once again, relieved at his presence and in a voice trembling and hoarse from the screams he had made in the ER earlier he whispered:

- Thanks -

Connor smiled starting to follow the nurse who was already entering the hospital. Will was just behind them, but as he took another step forward another burst of pain shot across his back.

Evidently taking on his brother's weight again had made his injury worse. He once again he tensed freezing for a moment and breathing deeply he tried to manage the pain.

Once his equilibrium was re-established, with a slightly limping gait, he set off again following his colleague.

Trying not to rest his foot completely and with a slightly arched position he managed to proceed more or less quickly without overloading his back.

As soon as they entered the Ed Will looked for a vacant room and found one he headed there along with April and Jay.

With the help of the nurse, the doctor moved his brother onto the bed and began to prepare to examine him.

Connor did not think twice, before heading to the room where the two were, he changed and made himself available to his friend.

As soon as he entered the room where the young Halstead had been placed he saw Will frantically operating on his brother trying to gather as much information as possible.

- Will let me take care of it. -

he said trying to stop him.

- No! I have to understand what he has! I have to help him Connor! - answered the colleague very agitated.

- Will wait - said the doctor blocking him and taking his face in his hands making him look at him - listen, I'm here, I'll do everything to understand what Jay has and to cure him. You're too involved, trust me.

Rhodes had a confident, reassuring gaze and so the red-haired doctor couldn't help but do as he was told.

In no time at all, Dr. Rhodes was visiting his patient in one of the Med's rooms and he first asked April to take his vital signs.

Will meanwhile dead tired was there, in a corner of the room, standing, watching what his colleague and the nurse were doing.
